Come stay at a local circus drinking up all the creativity that's brewing in our compound. We're Fekat Circus. A group of young artists who live and breath the circus arts. Our space is alive with daily troupe training and regular shows. We offer a medium sized room in a old house - with a bunk bed that accommodate 2 people. Bathroom is shared + cooking facilities available + internet via cable/wifi. Circus teachers are always available for those eager to experiment!
“People come here for experience, and more than just accommodation. If you wanted to connect or to know aspiring and creative ethiopians while in Addis Ababa, this place will fill your stay with exciting experiences, from interesting circus show practices to simple conversations. I had the great opportunity to do a short volunteer work on the digital/social media side of things with the passionate team of fekat. I forgot I was there for an overnight stay. Eyob, Sami and the rest of the team are amazing people. If you have a short time in addis, and want to make your stay worthwhile, better book this place.”
Feels like a home. We make traditional Coffee and if you are lucky, you will see how we make traditional enjera. Five minutes walk from two of the best supermarkets in town and restaurants. Also easy transportation access.
“Better than any hotel, with solid & liquid soap, shower cap, plenty of hot water, large and comfortable living room with fully equiped kitchen area (though I didn't use it), and homely handicraft ornaments. The suite is separate from the main house, with its own front door & key. The middle-class neighbourhood is very quiet and pleasant, with a variety of local shops on the doorstep. Recommended is a tailor one block down called Tesfaye Tadesse, who quickly fixed my coat in four places and my sweater for 40 birr. A Ride (taxi) at night to the airport was 189 birr. Communication with Dagmawi was in faultless English, generous (on his part more than mine) and instant, including directions in Amharic (to show to locals) and pinpoint co-ordinates of the house for Google Maps. He wasn't there himself, but his mother and sister were (both of whose phone numbers he sent ahead of time). They offered (and I accepted) a rich dinner of local vegetarian food for 85 birr brought to the room, and otherwise left me in peace until I had to leave.”
For anyone who wants a green, quiet and artistic place to stay, we offer to share a villa that is centrally located in the beautiful Armenian quarter. You can easily walk down the famous historical 40 steps to Piazza or walk up to the National Museum and Addis Ababa University. Ideal for artists who also want to use the studio next to the bedroom which is at the back of the house.
“Staying at Geke and family’s has been my best Airbnb experience so far. The house is a beautiful oasis perfectly situated behind Piazza where you’ll find anything you may need within walking distance. Everyone in their home was incredibly warm and helpful and I couldn’t have wished for better hosts!”
