“Mother Nature made mine and my husbands first day on Melody’s boat a real challenge due to flooding. We could not access the boat until a few hours after arrival. Melody was more than accommodating, providing us with updates on the water level. Once on board, she had provided Anniversary donuts, snacks, a gift cards among other little touches. It ended up being a wonderful evening on the boat. It is a very serene and relaxing location with the bathroom a very short walk from the boat. It was like camping on the water but with much more comfortable accommodations. If you are up for adventure in a beautiful setting then this is your kind of place. Thank you Melody for a memorable 1st Anniversary for my husband and I!!”

“This place basically has all you need for the amount of space that is advertised. The place is attached to another unit so basically it’s a duet house. There’s parking out front and on the streets but could be limited depending on how many other cars are around the other houses nearby. It’s a comfortable walking distance away from other points of interest and downtown. My wife and I stay there with our two kids under two and it was fine although this place is not equipped for little kids as advertised. If there are four adults it may be a bit tight especially with only one small bathroom. It’s not loud at night although sometimes you do hear people talking and going about outside during the day. It’s a comfortable little cottage on the inside with nice decor touches, plenty of bath and bedroom amenities. No central AC but the separate units downstairs and upstairs worked great. We would stay here again if going to the same location. Karen was a great host.”

“What an airy and cheerful place! Like a French apartment dropped into Church Creek. We went for some kayaking and hiking in the Blackwater Refuge nearby so were not looking for much more than a good bed but were really charmed by Wende’s soothing decor, wonderful beds, soft sheets, delightful porch where we shared some wine with the local bugs and generally felt pampered. Communication was good and Wende was a welcoming host who gave us pointers about kayaking and crab cakes. I hope to return!”
