“We had a fantastic stay with Sonja at Pink Shacks and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodation on Antigua. The room was well-appointed, cheerfully decorated and spotlessly clean. We cooked most evenings during our stay and found everything we needed, and enjoyed using the onsite gas bbq a couple of times. Whilst the room featured air conditioning (available at extra cost) we didn’t feel the need for it as the fan provided kept us sufficiently cool. The gardens surrounding the shacks are beautifully lush and verdant, and home to an enchanting variety of plants and wildlife. Sonja’s adorable posse of pooches were well-behaved and a source of constant entertainment during our stay. Pink Shacks is in a nice, quiet but easily accessible location close to St Johns. We didn’t have a car, but found it easy to jump on a bus (from directly outside the property, taking 10 mins to reach St Johns’ West Bus Terminal) or find taxis when necessary. Five Islands Village is a lovely part of the island, and features several beautiful beaches, all within a relatively short walk. Sonja kindly took us on a short tour, pointing out places of interest and giving us good tips as to what to see and do. We ate several times at the Pondview Bar and Grill, and really enjoyed owner Only’s food, drinks and hospitality. Communication with Sonja was effortless, and she was constantly on hand to answer any questions we had during our stay. She was also able to take us to the airport (multiple times due to cancellations and different depature dates). Thanks for everything Sonja, we look forward to returning to Pink Shacks next time we visit Antigua.”
Villa located in a quiet area not far from the bustle of English Harbour, and just around the corner from Rendezvous Beach. A great place to relax after visiting some awesome locations around Antigua. Your host will guide you to the best of these. Inspected by the Tourism Authority we are now accredited to receive guests as Antigua re-opens after the Covid-19 lockdown
“I am not quite sure where to start but I guess the beginning would be best! The initial communication when booking the property with Lou was prompt and pleasant and every question and concern (there were a few ;-) lol) was addressed. We had to alter our original booking and that process was seamless as well. The pictures do justice to the property but it’s nothing is like when you actually arrive...it is breathtaking and just beautiful. The open air concept of the common living spaces really allowed you to enjoy the ocean sounds, the breeze, and the views of the pool and ocean. The bedrooms were ample (5 total) as it was just my husband and we found them to be very comfortable, clean, and organized well to store your items during your stay. The home felt very secure and safe...and WiFi was amazing! We had an important video conference back in the states during our stay that went off without a hitch. The host actually commented on how good the call was compared to the local service he was used to. Speaking of host, Lou was wonderful...very attentive and prompt. We had difficulty finding the property (our error not her’s) and bless her heart she stood at the end of the drive in the much needed rain to guide us to the property. She gave us a tour of the home and showed us the necessities, the recreation provided in the home, and was on her way. The guest book was full of wonderful suggestions for local activities and dining and if we had a question she was prepared with a suggestion or an answer. She is the consummate host...she even surprised us with a special treat for our 20th wedding anniversary! We also chose to have Lou’s suggested chef pre-provision the home with groceries and cook for us a few nights...Sandra was amazing and she was the best part of our stay on Antigua. If you want local eats and wonderful hospitality please consider having Sandra accommodate your needs...you will not be disappointed! All in all our time at The Carib House was the best part of our time on Antigua. When we return we hope to see Lou and Sandra again and make new memories and reminisce about the one’s we made from our recent time there!”
Bright airy condo set in a secluded hideaway seconds from the crystal blue waters of Antigua and Barbuda.
“We stayed in the villa for two weeks in December 2019. We loved it and felt very at home. We especially loved the two porches with the lagoon view, the bottom one is prefect for breakfast or lunch, the top one for sunset cocktails. The apartment lay-out works really well, just like other reviewers said. Having two bathrooms is very nice too. I read another review that complained about internet problems. We appeared to have the same problem but we then realized you just need to restart the wireless router. After a restart it was back again for us and actually very good and generous considering the cost of internet on the island. (Just unplug the router for a few seconds and plug it back in.) The complex is very well managed and location just perfect in our opinion.”
