  • Steffen’s spot was exactly what we were looking for. Great value for what you get. It’s located on a quiet street and it’s only a 10 minute walk to the downtown area. Lots of local shops nearby, and Steffen provided a list of options to us to check out. The space was great. A quiet retreat to unwind after a day of shopping and exploring. Host was amazing. Very friendly and personable.

  • This is an absolute gem of a heritage building and perfectly located in downtown Halifax. With original hand carved moulding and cathedral ceilings, you can almost feel the energies of yesteryears past. Paul is a super nice and respectful owner that communicated clearly and effectively from the get go and I would go back in a heartbeat. Beautiful building.

  • This was our second time staying at Sid's place. We loved it! Sparkling clean and a great location, close to everything. As for parking, to avoid the costly prices at the Nova Centre, we would recommend parking at the nearby parkade on Doyle St. It was only about a five minute walk away and had very reasonable prices. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

  • Fred was amazing had to extend our stay and we were happy because it felt like home. Jewas so considerate and the location is very good especially for people who are immigrating and tourists. Lookno further, thisis the best place to stay.

  • Cannot stop saying positive things about the host and the place. He is a friend for life. Loved the place,he and Angela were very thoughtful even had staplers..every little thing needed.. Thank you so much for a lovely start to anew life.

  • Fred and Angela were an amazing host,I could not have dreamt of having someone so welcoming and considerate. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable. As we were new immigrants,he even took us to walmart and also picked us up and gave us a lot of info about halifax.I had to extend my stay as the lease starts a little late and we booked his place again. It is conveniently located opposite the bus stop and has a very homely feel with all necessities. I would definitelty rate them more than 5 stars and recommend to everyone.

    Fathima2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot in a very good area. The house is very friendly and responsive and went out of his way to make sure my daughter and I were comfortable. Really good value and highly recommended.

    Eddie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Close to downtown and only a couple minutes from Halifax Shopp9ng Centre. Was just what we needed & Fred was super friendly. My only suggestion if you need to do hair or makeup is to have a travel mirror with you as there is only one that is in the bathroom and no counter to put make up, straightener, etc... on. Plus if someone needs the bathroom then you have to stop & wait. But really, not a problem just a minor inconvenience. Other than that, lovely spot!!!

After a long and beautiful trip around Cape Breton, we found our way driving through some pretty heavy rainstorms heading to Halifax. With a tiring drive finished, we entered the cottage in the backyard and couldn't have wanted anything more. Cozy, colorful and extremely relaxing then, and throughout our time there. Sita was a great host leaving us all we needed along with some great suggestions around special events happening around the city. Next time we're her, we'll definitely check to see if they're available.
