Incredible character! This studio is in a 1896 Victorian historic house with hardwood floors, 9-foot ceilings and shellacked wooden accents through out the place. It is gorgeous! The studio has its own private bathroom (stand up shower) and kitchenette. It is perfectly located, literally on Dalhousie University campus, just a few blocks away from the heart of downtown and the hospitals. There are other 3 independent units in the house. See the detailed description (below) for their AirBnB links.
Live in a historic house from (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) with original hardwood floors, 9-feet ceilings, antique stained glass windows, and shellacked wooden stairs, doors and accents. A true Victorian atmosphere! The studio has its own private bathroom with a stand up shower, a kitchenette to help you prepare all your basic meals to start the day. A very comfortable real bed with a ortho mattress. Table with chairs for a meal or computer work, a suitcase stand for a better setting and a small closet for any hanging needed. The house has 4 independent units. All units share a common foyer entrance, but each unit has its own bathroom(s) and kitchen. Although none of the units have a living room, there is a shared living area in the foyer area on the second floor. See links below to see each unit: https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13727309 https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13742986 https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13743657 https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/13721952 PARKING: There is ample parking space at the back of the house.
Our house is located in the so called "South End" neighbourhood. It is just beautiful! It is a residential area mainly made of "Victorian style" old houses. The neighbourhood is also home to Dalhousie University, and our house is literally on Campus. The neighbourhood is safe, clean and full of trees. It is inhabited mainly by middle and upper-middle class families (several schools around). During the day, you'll see lots of university students walking from one class to another. This neighbourhood is sought-after because of its strategically central location, walking distance to downtown and all Halifax's attractions.
  • Cinthia's place was as advertised. It was clean and comfortable and emails were quickly answered. It was a nice place to spend a few days in Halifax.

  • Great location. Old home that is well maintained. Parking on site.

    Virginia2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in - walkable to downtown and to campus ! Clean Great that it included parking! Would have been even better if it included washer/dryer / coin laundry! But all in all - great stay! Would recommend

  • Perfect place to crash for a night while travelling through Nova Scotia. Cinthia provided off-street parking and we had a minifridge, microwave, toaster oven, and percolator to boil water for the provided coffee and tea.

  • Cinthia was accommodating and made the process very streamlined and our stay in Halifax that much nicer. Thanks for having us!

  • Check in as very easy! And Cynthia was a great communicator through text the entire stay. The room was great and very clean! Very close to town, walking distance. Cynthia was very accommodating and provided a great air BnB experience!!

  • The studios at Cinthia's place are top notch! The bedroom was huge, with a deskspace to work. I could also control the unit temperature, which meant I could have it chillier at night for a good sleep. The kitchenette was equipped with everything I needed to have French press coffee and some oatmeal for breakfast. For a longer stay, you would be able to keep food refrigerated (there was also a toaster oven, kettle, teapot, cutting board etc). The bathroom was clean, tidy and stocked with towels and space to tuck away toiletries. There is a spacious closet with hangers, a stand for my suitcase and a full length mirror. I was able to go for a run in the morning through a nearby park and some green space to Saint Mary's University and back. The only concern was the parking spaces in the back, as they're super tight, with really only room for two vehicles. However, I was able to find street parking immediately outside the studio, which was fine for overnight (up to 2hr M-F 8am-6pm.) Cinthia has thought of everything to make her place ideal for guests. Will come back here again for sure! Highly recommended.

Hotel-style suite in 120 year old home, set up close to downtown and hip North End. 2 min walk to grocery, liquor store, restaurants. En suite bathroom with shower, queen bed, mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker & 48 inch TV with Netflix. Extras: heated mattress pad, fast WIFI, Bluetooth speaker & android tablet in the suite for use. QEII Hospital: 15 min walk Downtown: 30 min walk Flat is not wheelchair accessible - 5 stairs up to the unit.
This is the living room of our flat that I've blocked off from the rest of the apartment (walled off and locking doors) and converted into a private guest suite. There is a queen size bed. It's locked off from the rest of my flat. There is no shared access to a kitchen or living space in our apartment. You have your own entrance to the room, a private en suite bathroom (sink, toilet, and shower), as well as a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, and coffee maker. The door to the rest of our flat closes and locks. So it's very private. It's set up like a hotel. It is a small space, for at most 2 people. But it’s cozy and has everything you need. The shower is a stand up shower and isn't really large. I love this location because it's easy access to downtown and major attractions but still in a quiet neighbourhood on a gated street. On major bus routes and it's a 5 minute cab (or 35 min walk) to downtown. Some people think that is close to downtown and some people find it far. All depends on your perspective. By Halifax standards it's extremely central and a very easy walk downtown. QEII Hospital: 15 min walk Spring Garden Rd (downtown): 23 min walk Waterfront: 32 min walk
The Quinpool District of Halifax is our personal favourite because it's close to all of the fun but far enough to get a quiet sleep. The flat is a 2 minute walk to necessities such as groceries, wine/beer store, pharmacy, gas station and all main public transit stops. Yukon Street is located two streets parallel to Quinpool Road, home to some of Halifax's most diverse and affordable restaurants, pubs and diners (Greek, Mediterranean, Korean, Chinese, Sushi, etc.) Everything you could possibly want is a five minute walk from the flat. Some people think we are close to downtown and some people find it far. All depends on your perspective. All we can say is that by Halifax standards it's extremely central and a very easy walk downtown. The Halifax Commons, including basketball, tennis courts, baseball fields and skate park) are a few blocks away from the space - about a 12 minute walk. There is also a public swimming pool and kids park including a fun water feature for the young ones. If you want to explore the Downtown core or the artsy and hip North End, they are only a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive away.
  • Great accommodations in a quiet neighbourhood! Many restaurants within walking distance. We only stayed one night and this was exactly what we were looking for. They knew we were leaving early the next morning and left us bottles of water and granola bars to take with us. That is the kind of hosts you are getting with Georgia and Lee-Anne. Further to the above, the price was excellent and communication before and during our stay was quick.

  • We had a great stay here! Highly recommend.

    Malynda2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay with Georgia and Lee-Anne in Halifax. They were very easy to communicate with, and answered my messages promptly. The room is exactly as described. The pullout sofa bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the privacy that this room offers, as it has its own entry, as well as bathroom. This place is located 2 min away from Quinpool, which is a major street with lots of interesting local restaurants. I would recommend this place to any travellers to Halifax.

Close to Halifax downtown and Halifax shopping Center, restaurants and dining, public transport. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). Older home in the most beautiful part of the city. Parks and walking trails close by. Access to salt water, so bring your Kayaks and Canoes. Very private, kitchen and bathroom (tub and shower). Microwave, bread, eggs, tea and coffee for breakfast.
  • Fred's place was basic, but very comfortable. We found it to be a really good location (we had a rental car). Fred was one of the best hosts we've ever met. He outlined all sorts of different things to do around Halifax and told us some great stories about the area. He was willing to meet us later in the evening which was really appreciated.

    Kari2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fred’s place was definitely worth the amount paid. The location is pretty decent, and Angela was super nice to us with tips and helping us to check in. Definitely recommended for anyone trying to go economical and visiting the city.

    Shanu2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fred's place isn't fancy but it has all the basics in place. The location is a bit out of the way if you don't have a car, but in return you're steps away from the water and in a quiet, beautiful part of the city. Excellent value for the money and Fred is a very friendly and accommodating host.

    Jamie2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • A local, rustic charming space that offers many great features. Simply amazing service offered by Fred (contact top notch, there to greet you, great tips on places to go/eat etc); amazing views and walking trails around the cove and marina out your front door; a full kitchen and bathroom in your unit and close proximity to Halifax centre (10-15 minute drive to Citadel and Pier), you will love Fred’s place!

    Bob2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Fred was an absolutely delightful host. He made us feel very welcome and offered many tips about where to go during our stay. He responded quickly to any issues that arose and was very cordial throughout our time in Halifax. Highly recommended.

    Niki2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room was bigger than I expected, it has all facilities I needed. Considering the rates we paid, I would highly recommend Fred's place

    Anita2019-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Fred’s. We got to meet Fred a couple times and he was so wonderful. Friendliest host we’ve ever met and very knowledgeable. Made us feel very welcome. The place had everything we needed. Exactly as described. The bed was so comfortable, we slept so well. Kitchen had everything we needed. It is an older place but very cozy with lots of charm. Very clean. Located centrally. We love that it wasn’t so close to downtown but still just a short drive there. The view across the street (cove) is beautiful. Especially during the early morning and late afternoon and with the fall colours; absolutely gorgeous! Can’t say enough great things about Fred’s place. We would definitely return!

  • Private space with two beds, a kitchen and a bathroom. It was a lovely and comfortable stay. We appreciated fred's small touches of hospitality too. He left us eggs, bread and coffee to make our mornings better. We hope to be back!

  • This a great place in a great location. We easily walked to the Harbor. Steps are steep and parking a little tricky but the value is there.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the Micro Loft! Very easy check-in, parking was on site, and we had everything we needed in the space. The location is great, and right across the street from a coffee shop - we brought our mugs over and had a lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend the loft to others.

  • Small but quaint. Heritage property with modern amenities. Would recommend.

    Joanne2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stylishly updated room in a historic building with everything you need to be self sufficient. Location allows for easy walks to all that downtown has to offer. Check in/out a breeze.

    Maja2019-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable place in good location. Good value if you book ahead. Be aware that unit is run by investor(s) that rent out multiple units, so that caused some confusion on our request to check out late (which created some modifications to our plans and added costs). If you stick to check in and out times, all should be good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Morris Street AirBnB, from the moment I booked the communication from the owners was prompt and accommodating. Even during flight delays and changing of check in times I recieved prompt responses as well as very clear instructions as to how to self check in, which was great as I finally made it there at 1.00am and was out of the taxi and in to the apartment in less than a minute. The apartment is smart and stylish with a great kitchen, lounge area and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. I love the exclusive boutique feel they've created with the attention to detail and finishes. I also loved the fact that I could walk out of the apartment and be in the heart of downtown Halifax or straight on to the boardwalk for a walk along the waterside. Highly recommended with great hosts!

My wife and stayed at Mark's place the night before an early morning flight. The place was great; it's exactly what you see in the pictures. It was so comfortable and it felt like home. The close location to the airport was also great. Mark was a great host; he was very welcoming and showed us around the house and made sure we were comfortable. I'll definitely stay at Mark's house on my next trip to Halifax!
