“Christine’s place was fantastic. It’s a cozy little studio with plenty to do (both inside and out). We enjoyed playing the various board games she has, pool/ping pong, and going for a walk on the beach no more than 5 minutes away. Having never been to York before, it was wonderful to see so many recommendations on what to do and where to eat. Made deciding what to each day a breeze. Next time I’m in Maine, I’ll definitely be booking a place here. Can’t forget to mention the outdoor lights. You don’t notice them until they come on automatically and it’s such a joy walking around the corner to turn each one on. A must-have for any future home.”
Nestled in the woods of the southern coast of Maine, a retreat, a respite, a getaway. This historic house dates from 1890 but you’ll find the interiors a tad contemporary. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one an ensuite), a cook's kitchen, and an open plan creates a comfortable space for kicking back. And since we love the outdoors too, a private patio and large backyard helps make the most of the serene surroundings. The Downstairs at The Bracy House lets you recharge in a little piece of Maine.
“We stayed 5 lovely and peaceful nights at Bracey House. From the moment we booked, Traci was very helpful, informative, responsive, and timely. Check-in was seamless. Traci really knows how to use all the features of AirBnb to design a great experience over and above the beautiful, well-maintained property itself. Bracey House is just what we wanted and more. The design is Nordic, minimal, clean, and bright. Everything is immaculate. The property is set back a little in the woods and quiet. Ultra comfortable beds and linens, good water pressure in the bathroom showers. Lovely touches everywhere, all curated with her design sensibility that delights and invites you to explore. Traci is a foodie as are we, so her Southern Main Guide on AirBnB was indispensable. We went to Walkers, which is a 10 minute drive from the house, and is a foodie destination, and that we highly recommend to anyone staying at Bracey House. The Marginal Way and Perkins Cove are very close. Portsmouth is also close 15-20 minutes. We went to Portland a few times also, about a 40-minute drive. Technology was great, with a Nest thermostat, Apple TV, Flat screen TV, a bluetooth speaker we used for music. You can sign in with your NetFix and Amazon Prime accounts to watch your own content. Traci and her husband are non-intrusive and respectful of guests’ privacy, and they know just how much contact is needed to make your stay wonderful. When we needed them, they were there to reply, or to communicate some helpful info. Bracey House is a haven from the world, and Traci and her husband have crafted an experience that I highly recommend to anyone staying in southern Maine!”
Tucked away in the woods along a stretch of rocky coastline, this hidden retreat is the perfect place to truly get away. Located midway between Ogunquit and York, guests can enjoy all the amenities of the towns, yet return to the quiet and peaceful seclusion of the Peaceful Coastal Retreat. Listen to the waves crash and the birds chirp as you gaze into the surrounding forrest or the star speckled sky; there is no place more perfect to relax and experience the magnificent Maine coastline.
“This place is truly wonderful in every regard. I want to begin with the level of considerate and thoughtful hospitality offered by Michele and Chris. We arrived during a real weather change, from lovely to wet and blustery. Michele met us outside with umbrellas and rain ponchos, and helped us haul our luggage up to the apartment. She could not have done more to help us. The apartment itself is really lovely and modern. The kitchen is well stocked and it is easy to find everything. There were some treats available for snacking, and there were eggs, milk, and half and half in the frig. The bed is fantastic. The bathroom is great, with a huge shower, lots of towels and shower products. The whole offering was very generous. The apartment is attached to the house, but we had complete privacy, and never heard a sound from the house. At the same time, when we needed help with the TV, Michele and Chris were there in two seconds. The home is located at the end of a beautiful road, and is met by lovely woods as the edge of their property. You can hear the sounds of the coast. It is tranquil and peaceful, and great to use as a home base for day trips. You can’t go wrong with this place. The apartment and its hosts are the very definition of helpful and thoughtful hospitality, in a lovely and idyllic setting. We were very sorry to leave!”
