A very short walk to beautiful Lake Superior, located on the Lake Superior Circle Tour. Enjoy kayaking, or explore the sea/ice caves. One hour from the infamous Birkie Trail. There is absolutely no better place to enjoy any season of the year!
“Holly was great with communication from my initial inquiries prior to booking all the way until check-out. As soon as you pull into the driveway you are greeted by an inviting cottage with a screened in second story porch, front deck patio area where you can enjoy the clean outdoor air or a table with a chair you can relax with your morning coffee. When you enter the cottage you walk into an open family room with plenty of natural light, a sitting area, and a reading area under the steps with a fainting couch or rocker to relax or play on the game table next to the electric fireplace. There is a large selection of books to pick from and enjoy. The kitchen is open to the living room and offers a long homemade wooden table for meals or playing games. The kitchen is stocked with coffee and snacks, which are nice to wake up to every morning. The full downstairs bathroom and washer and dryer are also nice to have. Upstairs are two bedrooms that are separated by a door. There is also another large sized full bathroom upstairs that is separated from one of the bedrooms by a sliding barn door. The decor is very updated, stylish and well kept. The area is great as you are a short walk from Lake Superior and the nice and quiet beach. There is a cool antique store and good restaurant just down the road. You are between Port Wing and Cornucopia. Port Wing is seven miles west and Cornucopia is eight miles to the east, which also has some cool businesses. Apostle Islands are also very close. I highly recommend this hidden gem.”
One-of-a kind sleeping cabin in the heart of Cornucopia! One of the oldest (and tiniest) houses in town, completely renovated, 2 blocks from beach. Off-street parking, private entrance, beautiful meadow views. A/C, king-size bed, coffee, mini-fridge, outdoor fire pit. Perfect for travelers wanting to spend a night or two away from mosquitoes. Why go camping when you can go "glamping"... Total privacy yet right in the heart of the village...
“We throughly enjoyed our stay! It sits in a beautiful location and is an amazing cottage which is walking distance to everything in town. We spent our evening walking through down town and enjoyed sitting at the beach watching the sunset. Sandy was awesome and is such a kind host. I would highly recommend the "Raccoon House". It was such a nice stay for a wonderful night away! There is no other place like it in the area. We will definitely visit again. Thanks Sandy!!! Michael & Liz”
Nestled in the middle of the Bayfield County Forest, this rustic, minimally maintained yurt has direct access to miles of non-motorized rec trails (mountain bike, cross-country ski and hiking). Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Superior, including all of Pike's Bay, four of the Apostle Islands (Madeline, Basswood, Stockton and Michigan) and the U.P. The view of Michigan Island also includes the lighthouse. Come prepared to relax, unwind and explore the wonders of the north woods.
“wow what a place ! The view was so amazing! We went there with our 15,12,8 year olds and although the hike was a little challenging we made it and had so much fun ! There were lots of of bugs swarming our faces which made it hard to enjoy the outside so bring repellent ! The yurt was so comfortable and clean ! They provided disinfectant and the bathroom had toilet paper and hand sanitizer ! We will go back again!”
