The Mustard Cottage is an authentic turn of the century home, which has heaps of ambiance and charm. Located only 5 min walk to the CBD, with restaurants, theatres , brand new Art Gallery, sport stadiums, eclectic shops and other interesting activities that Lismore has to offer. Sunny front veranda, great for enjoying breakfast and a back deck over looking the garden and parklands. Southern Cross Uni and large Regional Hospitals, are only a short drive.
“It was a pleasure staying with Penelope in her Mustard Cottage - a beautifully decorated home with lots of character and charm. Our room was a great size and, because I was staying in the room with a friend, Penelope supplied us with a blow up bed. The lounge room was spacious and cool and one of my favourite spots in the house was the reading chair on the front verandah. Penelope herself is attentive and we felt welcomed by her hospitality. I personally enjoyed our little chats about over breakfast or a cup of tea :) The location of the cottage is perfect - a short stroll and we we're in Lismore's town centre. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you Penelope!”
Our beautiful home sits on a small acreage, just a short drive from the village of Alstonville and half way between Ballina & Lismore. We love the wonderful nature surrounding us with wallabies and all manner of birdlife. There is a citrus orchard, vegetable garden, ornamental gardens and a small rainforest. You can take a walk, or sit on the deck and watch the beautiful sunsets. If you sit on the front veranda you will hear, see and even feel as the birds fly by.
A large family home reminiscent of a Tuscan Villa, in a quite street with stunning valley views. The shared kitchen is fully equipped and guests can cook their own meals, breakfast will be available on request. I have three cats who run the place and small pets are welcome on prior arrangement. Enjoy the outside areas with a cold drink and listen to the abundant bird life or sit quietly and enjoy the valley views and cooling breezes. Close to shops, Lismore 10 min, Ballina and the beach 30 min.
“Partner and I stayed as an overnight stop on our Sydney-Sunshine Coast drive. Great location, lovely house and Gerry’s a fantastic host. It’s a shame that we arrived later in the evening because we would have loved to have enjoyed the view some more.”
