Downstairs is an integrated kitchen/livingroom and a bathroom and upstairs are two bedrooms. The house is situated in the heart of Borgarnes. There are several restaurants and cafés in walking distance, there are 200 m to the supermarket and the swimming pool is 700 m away. Borgarnes is the perfect location if you are planning several day trips to explore West Iceland, as there are many beautiful spots to discover.
“Stephanie's place was great! We especially loved the shower which had a neat open design, fantastic water pressure, and no sulfur scent to the water (which can occur given Iceland's geothermal activity). The washing machine is a helpful addition but you'll need to plan accordingly to hang/lay out your clothes to dry. The place is conveniently located to grocery stores and a bakery that's open early in the morning. There's an example of a small turf-roof barn/building structure barely a short walk behind the home. The house was very clean, well-decorated, stayed very warm during our stay during early winter, and was an amazing home base as we explored the surrounding areas. Stephanie was an amazing host and was very accommodating with our check-in time. It was an awesome first rest stop for our trip and we wished could have stayed longer.”
Two bedrooms; one double bedroom with a 180 cm bed, and a family room with one 180 cm bed and a 120 cm bed. The common area has a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and a sofa. There is a very spacious bathroom with a rain shower.
“A great apartment in a great environment! We had booked the entire apartment as a family of four as a station during our Winter Iceland trip. Our travel planning was confused by the changeable weather, but this was compensated for by the stay in the very tastefully furnished apartment. We enjoyed the hot pot every day: while the snow and wind swept around us, we looked at the cozy 40 degrees on the bay and the illuminated town of Borgarnes. Self-catering with the kitchen is no problem at all and Borgarnes also offers enough shops for shopping. The restaurant of the Settlement Center is also recommended (but there are also others - the Pizzaria was unfortunately closed in winter). Heidrun and Michael were always available for questions and advice - thanks for that !! We will recommend you !!”
Welcome to our minimal yet cozy scandinavian apartment. Winter is coming! The northern lights can be seen through the window and also outside the house. It depends on the weather and how cold the outside and clear sky in the night time.Your lucky enough to see it while your staying. The view is just good with your taste and you probably like view through Hafnarfjall, the bridge connecting to borgarnes and the seaside.
“Nikita and Neila's place was very comfortable. Many necessities in the bathroom and kitchen were provided such as soap and cooking oil that we do not always find in Airbnb's. They were very generous and understanding when we had to miss one night and as we dealt with lost luggage. I can confirm that both the local Bonus and Netto groceries sell underwear. The house is a very nice size and the location was great for our visit. We really enjoyed the Settlement Museum during our stay.”
