“We would absolutely stay here again! If you are biking up from the tow path, grab some dinner in the main part of town before you head up the big hill to the house. There are only a few restaurants within walking distance from the house. After a long day of biking, you may not want to get back on the bike to go back down the hill into town for some food.”
We offer a guest suite on the lower level of our house, with private entry, 10 minutes from historic Frederick. The suite's access is from a terrace, overlooking a wooded hillside, with a fire pit, grill, table & chairs. The suite has a bedroom, bath, laundry, and a family room with a fireplace. The suite includes a mini-fridge, coffeemaker, microwave, and dining area. Nearby attractions include several state parks, the Appalachian Trail, and wineries in the Middletown valley.
“Mary Margaret was very helpful and responded to questions within minutes. She took the time to give us tips on the area and was very friendly. We felt well attended to, but also felt like we had plenty of privacy and space. The location is quiet but within a few minutes drive to the heart of Frederick with plenty of restaurants and amenities very nearby. The guest suite is cozy and filled with books, board games, and other comforts that made it feel relaxing and inviting. We would definitely return again!”

“This place really is spectacular in every way. We chose it for a weekend getaway from the world, for our 5 year anniversary, and it fit everything we were looking for! The location is stunning — directly across from the Potomac, right in the middle of nature, but what surprised us most was the town it was located near — Shepherdstown was an absolutely amazing little place! The hosts provided us with some information on places within the town and we took advantage of that — the town was warm, friendly, full of decorations for support during COVID and Pride Month, and the history of its welcoming nature was awesome to learn! As for the Airbnb itself — the place was incredibly cute. We loved sitting on the balcony every morning drinking tea and drinking wine at night, we loved all the books, games, and dvds, and all of the little meaningful touches that made it a great house to stay in. It would be hard to name everything we enjoyed about our stay, but from the hosts, to the location, to the house itself, 100%, 10/10 recommended for anyone looking for a great stay!”
