“Perfect getaway. Beautiful setting. Hosts provided everything one could need, cabin was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed swimming in the warm, clean lake and pretty pool, kayaking, relaxing on our deck surrounded by tall oaks and birds, and hiking at the nearby Volo Bog and Moraine Hills State Park. Just 50 miles from home, a bit of magic. Gracious hosts live on the property, about a soccer field’s distance away.”
This little newly remodeled gem is small but mighty. If you have ever been curious about tiny homes, this is a must! You have but a small walk across a parking lot and down the beach stairs to a big private sandy beach. Need more space? Check out the other cottages under my profile.
“Check-in and check-out is super easy. My husband and I definitely needed a quick getaway from the city for it to really feel like summer with everything that is going on so this location was perfect. We had access to the beach which never got crowded and was very relaxing especially if you get out early in the morning. We even booked a trip to come back with our friends before our trip was over :)”
Our place is on the Chain O Lakes, great views, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, nightlife. Perfect location close to all the great places to eat. Boat slip available, short boat ride to Pistakee lake. Perfect place for snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter time. 10 minutes to Wilmot Mountain.
“Super clean and cozy A-frame! The perfect day-trip or weekend-trip out of Chicago. Not too far, but far enough away from the city. Perfect for a friend trip or romantic getaway. Would love to go back in warmer months or super snow-y months! Some highlights: Checkin was easy, place felt very secure. Kitchen: Perfect size. Plenty of pots and pans and things you might not want to buy for the weekend (oil, salt, pepper) We brought groceries and cooked every meal. Refrigerator was also fully stocked with water bottles. Which was great for us to drink even though we felt bad about all the plastic. Fireplace: Gas fireplace felt just like a real fireplace with wood, but we didn't have to deal with adding more logs or anything. Andy walked us through opening the flute and starting the fire on the phone, it was very easy. Outdoor space: Huge deck that we did not use because it was cold but it is right on a little bit of water and was nice to walk out on for fresh air. It snowed a little while we were here which was beautiful to see coming down on the skylights of the A-frame windows. We walked out on the deck to see the snow and you could see the unique shapes of the snowflakes! I had no idea you could see the shape of snowflakes like that with the naked eye but you can! Furniture/Decor: There is this amazing wooden-chair that we loved. You'll see when you go there. It's wild!”
