A wonderful stay in the jungle!

This was probably the best accommodation we’ve ever stayed in! It was super clean, peaceful, and well-located. The host was very responsive, arranged scooters for us to rent, and gave us some useful tips. We had the best time having BBQs in the garden and just hanging out! We would be happy to come back one day. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It’s a little off the beaten path and because we were travelling around by car it fit our needs exactly. Catherine and family were very helpful to assist even when we didn’t ask for help. Hopefully we will get an opportunity to stay again.

This was one of our absolute highlights of our Philippines trip. Arvin and Kenneth provided an excellent service. The contact with Alfred was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Nature’s Retreat! The name is quite accurate, and if you are looking to really immerse yourself in a beautiful nature setting away from it all, this is the place. Our crew was nine friends from around the world who gathered here over New Year’s, and to give a sense of the experience, on NYE, we all waded out into the warm shallow bay surrounded by the tropical jungle and mountains, had the hosts turn off the electricity to the Retreat and welcomed in 2020 with the only lights being the stars and bright Milky Way above. Stunning. As were the bonfire the hosts built, the trips they took us on around the islands with the property’s catamaran, the massages they organized (so cheap and very very good) and the other tours they helped us arrange. In terms of the hosts, we cannot say enough good things about Sam, his family and his crew. They are incredibly kind and affable human beings, completely professional and on top of all of the logistics and always available for any assistance or advice. And a real bonus is that Sam and his wife are incredible cooks - we learned they own a restaurant in PP, and it showed in all the meals which were very well done. There is no question the place is rustic, and it is secluded (no neighbors). And that is its amazing charm. But don’t expect to be able to just pop in and out of town in 5-10 minutes on a whim. Our only caution is, before booking, check Air Swift for available flights in and out of El Nido Lio airport. Otherwise you have to fly in to Puerto Princesa and it’s about a 5-6 hour drive to the Retreat from there, depending on traffic. Shouldn’t be a problem if you look well enough in advance (which we failed to do) – so just a lesson learned. All in all, this was a really special trip for our group, and we would really recommend you consider it for yourself.

The photos dont do it justice - an absolutely world class view. A comfortable and spacious place to stay and great to be able to use the facilities. Only downside were a few cockroaches on the first night - but this is to be expected with the Airbnb being literally in the forest. Would definitely stay again and was a wonderful, relaxing end to our Philippines adventure.

Great new place in a quiet neighborhood! Pool was super warm and the staff was friendly and attentive to any issues or concerns. I would recommend this place to all my friends.

Manfred and Rosanna are adorable, very welcoming and really accommodating. Their kindness made our stay even more enjoyable. The house is lovely. With scooters, it's very easy to get around and reach all the places of interest nearby. We highly recommend this listing!

This airbnb is in a very beautiful peaceful location in the middle of nature which we enjoyed very much. The hosts were friendly and helpful in getting us transportation to and from the town. Would highly recommend if you enjoy a quieter location but still close to El Nido!

We stayed at Denis's accommodation for 5 days and had an excellent experience! I really appreciated the "apartel" concept, which blends the services of a hotel—such as daily room cleaning and breakfast delivered directly to your room—with the flexibility and conveniences of an apartment. Denis was incredibly responsive and friendly, as were all the staff we interacted with during our stay. Having a scooter included was a fantastic bonus for this location.

Wonderful stay in El Nido. It is true that the place is not in the center but it is precisely the charm of feeling like a local. It has two motorcycles available that we were able to tour different places with. Kat is lovely and attentive to you at all times. We were handled by transfers and even some activity. Always looking out for us and that everything was wonderful. I would repeat again without any question! Everything perfect

As soon as we stepped foot on this sanctuary we felt like we were experiencing the Palawan island life we’d read rave reviews about. Away from the tooting horns and chaos of El Nido town we could now enjoy the sounds of birds, geckos and water lapping at the beach on our villa doorstep. Guy could not have been more helpful - and watching him tend to his lush lawn, beautiful garden of palms and frangipanis, his pride of place was also evident in the viewing spots he’d built for guests to admire the incredible sunsets over the water. We had every meal catered for including a fresh fish buffet lunch aboard our bangka boat with crew and tour guide Jeff who took us every day on a private island hopping tour - timing our arrival for when the other tourists were gone. Don’t expect a 5-Star hotel experience. You get something much more special here - and if you connect with the team, it’s a privilege to hear their life stories and ambitions. We’ll always remember our time here.

Thanks a million to Samy and Greg for a wonderful stay in El Nido! The location of the house is perfect, it is only a few minutes walk from the main streets and beach, yet it is very quiet as it situated on a less busy side street. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless. The hosts were very helpful and receptive to our check out time, allowing us to store our luggage until later in the day. All in all Picado House is highly recommended for a group stay in El Nido!

Excellent hosts! It was peaceful, yet truly enjoyable stay.

This was the most incredible place we've ever stayed. The entire staff that works there - the boat crew, the chef, and the main caretaker - were so welcoming, accommodating, helpful, and kind. The chef is very diverse in his cooking! We said we liked a certain dish that we had tried earlier in the trip, and he made it for us on the island!!! Every single meal was incredible. The caretaker was very kind and always had great conversation. The animals on this island are absolutely adorable. The rooms were all immaculate, and honestly, the pictures don't do this place justice for how great it is. Alfred was super helpful in getting there and making sure we had everything perfectly set! We hope to be back :)

From the very first moment, we felt more than welcome. Vanessa and her team ensured we had a wonderful stay in this beautiful place. The food was fantastic, the staff friendly, and there were many animals in this exclusive setting. It was the perfect start to our trip to the Philippines.
