Learn to Bake Homemade Bread!

We'll start out at my house for espresso & homemade whole-grain toast that uses locally-grown and milled flour. Next we'll get to mixing and baking your own loaves. You will leave with a vigorous sourdough starter, plus a loaf of whole-grain, naturally-leavened bread. Not only that, but you'll have the knowledge to go home and start making your own bread regularly! While we wait for your bread to rise, we'll visit some of Portland's best bakeries. This is a lesson and tour in one. Check out @1000bitesofbread on Instagram. Other things to note Arrange transportation to and from my house, but I will provide complimentary transportation to the bakeries we will visit. Chef Tour of Pike Place Market

We will take you on a culinary tasting adventure of Pike Place Market. We will be stopping at 9 different artisanal vendors; learning about local production and tasting your way through the flavors of the Northwest. Other things to note: The tour takes place rain or shine. Please email if you have dietary restrictions. Not all of our routes stop at the same places in Pike Place! We do book private tours for 9-16 people. Please direct message us to learn more. Gratuity is not included in the price. Our team also conducts a, more off the beaten path, tour on Fridays and Saturdays of South Lake Union. There are small bites over many stops and limited places to sit down. This experience requires a medium physical fitness level due to hills, stairs and uneven terrain. We do cover some distance and the market is crowded during the Summer. If you have to drive and park please leave a lot of extra time in the high season. The lots do fill up. Lastly, due to our tight schedule and wanting to show you as much of the market during a short time, we don't have time to shop during the tour. We encourage you to come back after the tour with your discount card to make purchases.

Eat Like A Canadian Food Tour

Join us on a fun walking tour of downtown Victoria where we will taste traditional Canadian dishes while learning all about the history of Victoria and what makes Canadian cuisine so unique. Please note this tour is 2.5 hours (2.30pm-5pm) We start the tour at Finest at Sea where we will sample some seafood. We then head next door to Imagine Studio Cafe to try some traditional Indigenous cuisine called Bannock, a type of fried bread. Then we are off to the very beautiful and popular Fisherman's Wharf to try a slice of Hawaiian pizza on a floating restaurant. Did you know that is a Canadian invention? Learn how and why this creation came to be. We will stroll among beautiful gardens of James Bay before stopping at the historic Steamship Terminal Building for a maple syrup tasting and a Nanaimo bar, one of Canada's most famous desserts. Victoria Bites & Sights

We will all meet at the front of the Empress Hotel where we will start our tour with some history of the inner harbour Then we will head to the causeway to jump on a little boat to take us to Chinatown From there we will get a historical walk through the city where I will tell you entertaining and interesting stories of Victoria's past. Government street has many heritage buildings and has an old England style that has been fought for by Victorian citizens to preserve. We will get 3 tastings along the way as well as a beer from one of Victoria's newest microbreweries. Victoria has a fantastic reputation for breweries, so indulge while you are here! Other things to note You will be walking about 2km in total on this tour. Please dress for the weather
