Forest Bathing / Shinrin-Yoku
Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) is a traditional Japanese awareness meditation, proven to be a profound antidote to anxiety, depression, fear and tension. You will be taken upon a simple forest walk, whereupon your guide, Helena, will facilitate and enable a sensual immersive experience, whereby the forest languages of renewal, growth, change and impermanence will become your experiential second nature. You will develop a sense of inner peace and stillness that will be supported and encouraged by nature's living, ever-changing process. Absolutely no experience necessary. The requirements are a willingness to let go of your troubles, fears, worries and anxieties. Christmas Mindful Marbling
It's so hectic at Christmas, as an artist & meditator I created this experience is an antidote to the seasonal stresses. I guide my guests towards the calm beauty of serendipity, surrendering to life's present moment & moving into the psychological wellbeing of the creative "flow state" via the ancient mediative art of Japanese ink marbling. Not only will my guests leave the workshop relaxed & with a new creative skill set they can then replicate at home, but will also have prints & their own ceramic tree decoration to take home. The experience starts with a warming cup of camomile tea & a brief history of marbling. After which I guide my guests through a group meditation specially designed to enhance our feeling of wellbeing & prepare us to enter the relaxing flow state of creativity. Following on from the mediation is a practical demonstration of all the marbling techniques. Guests are then invited to experiment in the relaxed supportive environment of my home to create individual works of marbling art using all materials supplied. When guests are ready I teach how to transfer the creations onto paper & ceramic. Enabling guests to create unique individual prints to take home and display, along with a marbled ceramic Christmas tree decoration for your christmas tree. (I may be able to accommodate group bookings that require a different start time. Contact me if required

Glass workshop, fuse your own Coaster.
On arrival you will be greeted and shown around the studio and given a brief health and safety talk. Once your safety Google’s are on you will immediately practise cutting float glass to get the feel for cutting. When you are confident with this we will consider your design, keeping it simple is the key to a successful coaster. Once the design is drawn out to size it can be used as a template and drawn on to the glass, There is plenty of colourful bullseye glass to be used. If necessary you will be shown how to grind the glass to get the perfect shape you require. Tea, coffee and cake will be served during a break. Following this you will be able to complete your design and place in the kiln for firing. Firing will take place that day and takes approximately 12 hours. Your work can either be collected by arrangement or posted to you (uk postage free international postage by arrangement) If you would rather make jewellery instead of a coaster please let me know and I can accommodate this. I aim this experience to be small and friendly and is suitable for one person or up to a group of four. Other things to note Please wear closed in shoes, no flip flops or sandals. During the Covid 19 pandemic please wear a mask during this experience. I will ensure that all equipment is kept sanitised.
