This is private room with 2 workstation beds and the restroom/shower room is located outside the room down the hallway which is shared among 2-3 other guest rooms. You will be able to have access to numerous forms of public transportation. It is very close to Union Square, the Powell Bart Station, and the Moscone Center within walking distance.
  • Room was perfect for my needs. Since I did book a room with a shared bathroom, it would have been nice to have a sink other than the kitchen shared sink to brush my teeth at and a mirror in the room to get ready with. The bed was super comfortable

  • Nice place to stay in SF. The location is great, it's a good in between a hostel and a hotel. The staff very nice and helpful!

  • Great location, and price.

  • Nice place to sleep while visiting the city, close to Union Square and within walking distance of the seafront

  • The Herbert is a hotel with dorm-style shared bathrooms, which seems to be a common style in the area. This one was very very nice! Very clean, never a problem accessing the facilities when I needed them, the room was large and comfortable, and the staff were very nice. It's a great location as well! I'd definitely stay here again.

    Lauren2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Herbert is a really nice hotel. Very friendly staff, clean and great location. Will stay here again next time in SF.

    Rikard2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • I've been here before, and it is worth the price. Having said that, there are some things that could be improved. Even tough I paid for a private room with a shared bath, they "upgraded" me to a room with a private bath (203). I was worth, but this specific room is in front of a common area where people watch TV until late, I could hear the TV noises until late night. Another issue that could be improved is that the window faces a small corridor with a wall, and there are a lot of pigeons living there. They makes a lot of noises and it is really dirty, with a lot of pigeon poop, they could make something to prevent them from staying there.

Centrally located - Union Square, downtown, FiDi, all within walking distance!
  • Great, clean, sparse place. Really great host. Would stay there again!

    Connor2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is excellent value for money. Close to downtown and the keyless check in process went smoothly. The room and common areas are very clean. Other tenants of the building can be noisy but this is out of the hosts' control and this feedback has been well received by Alice and Laura. Overall a great stay.

  • Simple, clean, and a great central location for a weekend stay!

  • Great location

    Lløÿd2018-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • It was a self check-in, so when we opened the front door Laura was sitting on the couch facing the door and she didn’t even say hi or anything, she just looked at us a very unwelcome look. Even when I said “Hi Laura, she answered “Hi” and turned her face to the TV. The bed and the covers were smelling, it’s like haven’t changed for months. Just minutes after we laid down we started scratching our skin, and it wasn’t one night only and we just had less than 6 hour of sleep we would checked out and left.

    MOUHANNAD (Marc)2019-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hospitality. Laura was a kind & wonderful host. Space was clean and extra towels were provided, which is a plus!

    Raiany2019-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Alice was super responsive and helpful in all her communication. I never met her but she was kind and generous. She even left an umbrella for me to use for two days of rain! The place was clean and mostly quiet - except for the second night, when a big party went until 3:30 am in the apartment just across from my bedroom window. This might be extremely rare but since it had a big impact on my stay, I want to mention it. Otherwise, the place was great!

    Downtown Union Square.
  • This place is exactly what you need and nothing more. It had a comfy bed, great shower, and it's such a great location in the city. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to SF. You will not be disappointed!

    Hayley2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great budget room in a convenient location for touristing in San Francisco. Clean and as described.

    Naomi2018-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Bunkhouse is exactly as described on the website. The rooms are on the smaller side, and you share a bathroom, but everything is clean, it is a great price, and the location is excellent! Right downtown San Francisco. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in San Fran.

    Amy2016-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and perfect for our stay after the Gran canyon visit! Also good that we could make our laundry on our road trip!

    Alessandra2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything as said on the site. Location is close to Powell Station, so perfectly in the center of downtown. Room was clean, comfortable and silent. No private bathroom as explained on the website, but the public one was useful and pretty clean every time! Recommended..

    Roberto2016-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location to discover San Francisco!

    Steffen2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The BUNKHOUSE is still partly under construction but those areas that are finished - and that you rent - are quite cool: all new and shiny, great location in downtown San Fran, and a nice breakfast cafe downstairs. Be aware that there is no parking around and that you have to look quite carefully for the "Bartlett Hall" sign in order to find it.. other than that, excellent!

A hip laid back place to stay in downtown San Francisco with a great location!
  • The Stratford was good - great location, good value. The room is small and very dorm-like. Staff was nice.

  • Great location, clean room. A little dated but a great value, would definitely stay again!

    Mary2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great hotel. Centrally located and great for the price. Our room was big and clean, with good window facing a busy but charming street. If I come back to San Francisco again, I would totally stay here again.

    Nacho2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The room was as described, small but was exactly what was needed for a one night stay. Location is great and right across from a parking structure and near local stores.

    Vanessa2018-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for cheap stay in SF and we get what we searched for. The room is enough if you look for a bed and bathroom :). It is directly next to the union square that’s why it is nearly impossible to find a cheap parking lot. Per day nearly 50-70$!! We give our car back 4 days earlier which I highly recommend. There is a Alamo/Hertz/ and other car rentals where you can bring your car back even if you had the airport as location selected. We recommend this stay in SF! Have fun

  • Great Location, much better service than I expected, perfect for 2 or 3 nights The blanket/linen wasn’t very warm but that would be my only issue. We asked another one and it was fine. Amneties were great as well as local tips and -20% on a great breakfast place one block away. Definitely recommend!

Petit Auberge fosters a pleasant sense of community with their warm welcome by staff and a daily happy hour for guests. I certainly would recommend this darling b&b for anyone coming to San Francisco.

This single room with hardwood floors, has a single bed with a flat screen t.v. Free wifi. There is a hair dryer, sink, and at your request, an iron with ironing board is available.
Luz Hotel is located in the neighborhood that borders Tenderloin and Knob Hill. The terms "Tenderloin Heights" and "The Tendernob" refer to the area around the indefinite boundary between the Upper Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill. You'll be at Geary St that's fine. The Tenderloin is more Ellis, Eddy, Golden Gate and Turk streets. Don't worry about it, and really, Geary all the way in both directions isn't bad as it's a pretty crowded street.
  • The hotel is a perfect location for travellers on a budget. Close enough to the attractions but far enough that you are away from the hustle and bustle. Perfect for using public transport to get around. Room was perfect for a single traveller on a budget. Have never done a shared bathroom before but they were spotless and there was never a wait. Would definitely recommend and use again.

    Allison2018-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Good value for SF I guess though wouldn't pay this much for any other city for what it is. Very nice hospitality.

    Akiva2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Clean room with the most convenient location to get to anywhere in the downtown area. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

  • Everything as expected!

    Kalle2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nice small hotel with plenty of character. I found everything clean and the bathrobe was super comfortable. The shower was always free when I needed it. The location worked really well for me, and everyone was very helpful.

    Kristjan2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • It’s clean and cozy, not fancy, but better than I expected for a budget hotel. It was quieter than I expected. Shared bathrooms were always clean. The shared shower was fine. It’s right downtown in the Tenderloin, which has pros and cons. If you need to be in that area for a conference or something then this is a good option.

    A.J.2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place comes with shared shower and restroom, which I had concerned. However, I had no problem with it. Shared but for one person. Condition was ok. It has everything I needed including shared kitchen, coin laundry and etc. Virgilio (owner) is a very nice guy. It is not a luxury hotel but a perfect place if you are looking for a value lodging with dormitory like environment.

A convenient studio located next to the Hilton SF on Taylor Street. This apartment is on the border of several neighborhoods and is easily accessible to downtown. This is a great option for a longer term stay in SF whether for business or pleasure. All you need is your suitcase! - Fully equipped kitchen - Wifi - Smart TV - Laundry onsite - Extra linens, towels, and blankets
The neighborhood is convenient but also on the nitty gritty side on the edge of the Tenderloin. Homelessness is prevalent. That is common among a lot of SF neighborhoods. It is relatively safe though and very close to FiDi and Union Square.
  • Apartment was super clean and had all things you need such as iron, coffee machine, fridge, oven and microwave etc.. The building is ok-ish. It's located downtown SF, so very central but that comes with the expected drawbacks. Overall, great value! Highly recommend it!

Location, Location, Location! This clean, private, unique hotel room with shared hallway bath is a short walk to the Famous Cable Cars, Nob Hill, Public Transit, Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Grace Cathedral, AT&T Park, Polk Street, and more! You’ll love the place because of the location, the people, and the value! This room was recently painted and furnished with new linens. The shower and toilet are located in the hallway of the hotel. They are cleaned every day by professional cleaners.
  • This place is definitely in an unbeatable location with it's proximity to Market Street. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping the place clean, and the front desk staff were always very helpful and respectful. Check in and out was simple and easy, and I felt that I could come and go at any hour of the day. During my stay the renovations and elevator outage were small annoyances, and were both resolved by the end of the stay.

    Gregory2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Good Location for the price had a nice room.

  • Good place to stay close to China Town in SF!

    Manoj2019-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • I would go back, minor issues around missing towels and a non functioning elevator but the staff has a good attitude and the location can't be beat. Do go with the understanding that this is old style hoteling, shared baths and toilets so you depend a little on the other guests being considerate. It got a little noisy at times but that wouldn't stop me from returning.

    Tim2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very good location for the price and comfortable too. Would love to come back in the future .

    Alvaro2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this place is great! Right next to China Town, very close the Union Sq, good bars and restaurants, etc, just a great area in general. We never felt uneasy about walking around at night in this area either. Felt very safe. The old elevator they have is super cute! Our room was very basic but it had all that we needed. We never had an issue with the bathrooms or showers. The only issue we had was the no AC so our room was a little stuffy and because our window opened to another building there was no breeze. I'm sure we could have asked for a fan but didn't really think about it until the last night. Also, if you sleep with your window open it's pretty noisy outside but when we shut it the last night of our stay we didn't have any issues with noise! The staff was really helpful and accommodating. We checked out on a Wednesday morning and had a really late flight and we were able to leave our bags locked up in a back room so that we didn't have to lug them around our last day in San Fran. That was so nice not to have to worry about! Really good and affordable place overall!

The newly remodeled bedroom is located in my 6 bdr 6 bath unit It's just one block from the Top of Nob Hill where the Fairmont, Mark Hopkins, and Huntington hotels are located and a short stroll to Union Square, Chinatown and several other popular amenities. Each room has its own private en-suite bathroom and electronic lock for added privacy and convenience, Wi-Fi, fresh towels and linens, smart TV, desk, etc. We have several rooms available so please inquire if you need more than one.
Washer and dryer are located in the room on your right first thing entering the unit. Extra toiletries, towels, and cleaning supplies can be found in one of the closets in the hallway.
I love living in this neighborhood, and know that its prime location and proximity to popular landmarks, will make you fall in love with San Francisco, as much as I have. Street parking is sometimes available, but I recommend the nearby parking garages with overnight and long-term parking options low as $20/night. If you do decide to do parking on the street, please be sure to read the signs as some of the streets in the neighborhood will tow during certain days/hours of the week. Do not leave any of your personal belongings inside either in plain view or in the trunk hidden. This is a safe neighborhood, but theft tends to require citywide vigilance.
  • Jessica’s place was clean and check-in was super easy! The location is great too. Would stay there again if going to SF in the future!

    Deborah2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica's place is exactly as pictured! This was our first time getting just a room instead of an entire place on AirBnB and it was a great experience. Everyone in the other rooms of the apartment was quiet and friendly. We didn't use the common area except storing some leftovers in the fridge but it looked great. Jessica was very quick to respond to any communication throughout our stay. I would stay here again.

    Atif Farid2019-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica’s place is almost like a boutique hotel, with a few rooms and a common area. Self Check-in was easy, rooms were private. It’s not super quiet, but very typical for San Francisco. The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure was good. Jessica was extremely quick to respond to an issue after check-in, getting everything handled for me while I was out. I’d definitely stay here again.

    Paul2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place in core area. Jessica was very thoughtful, and quick to respond. Highly recommend this very comfortable place to stay.

    Gary2018-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good value, bedroom was tiny but nice common space

    Emily2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Jessica’s place was excellent, the public space was big and open, I was quite worried it wouldn’t be so big and be crammed but it was the exact opposite, each room had their own restroom which to my surprise thinking it was a shared space would have shared restroom’s, in addition body soap, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. I was to write a whole essay about this place but sadly have an essay for school to write too haha anyways I would recommend this place to anyone coming here as it’s a great location for a great price.

  • I find it shocking to be presented with a BS 'facility' charge. This should have been communicated from the get go and this is just a money grab as I couldn't even opt out of it. At the price of the room you'd expect wireless, etc to be inclusive. Place reeked. Unacceptable

    Stanley2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The room is clean and convenient. However there was some really large noise in the midnight during my stay. Not sure whether it is just an incidence.

  • Great work trip stay in the heart of city

    Franklin Fengyi2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy and stylish, location is also very central in SF

    Kevin2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel is about right priced - if not a bit high. They will add a $34-37 daily fee on for use of the water bottle filling machines and other things like their fitness center. The photos show a VERY nice version of the room, the room I was in had light switches in electrical boxes mounted to the outside of the wall (normally the box is hidden inside the wall). It’s fine for its price in the area (~200 a night) but the surprise fee that you find out about at check-in is a hidden price increase.

    Ethan2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, easy check-in and out. Extremely comfortable bed! Pillows to die for. The photos are accurate, but the hotel and in-room amenities are a little more dated than I was expecting.

  • great listing

    Leonard2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location is convenient but being SF downtown, in the civic area, there's a fair amount of noise and homelessness. Hotel itself is old but well maintained and clean.

    Delong2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The workers here were nice but the neighborhood and cleanliness of this make it undesirable. Homeless and drug usage in the neighborhood are scary and you wont feel safe walking out the door.

  • The hotel was nice for the price. It’s pretty central to a lot of local sites and has some history to the building. The building is old so it can be outdated, and walls seem a little thin.

    Kevin2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel itself can use an upgrade overall (my room didn't have a refrigerator,) it's not cell phone compliant (no usb hub to plug into) and the hair dryer didn't work but the staff was friendly and the sheets were AMAZING!

  • Decent hotel but good value given central location. Room was basic but for one night, it was fine. Downside was the noise from the street was disruptive although it was hot so we had the windows open

    Rob2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • This hotel is in a great location with friendly staff! Free parking is not available. Double room has very small beds.

    Michelle2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, 24h check in, clean room. I recommend

    Robin2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Be cautious that the rooms do not look like the photos. They are tiny, almost closet-sized with really uncomfortable beds and uncleaned carpeting. The bathrooms are also incredibly small, with about one square foot to move around, and funky, dirty soap and conditioner containers in the shower.

    Taylor2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really great stay. And polite management.

    Zeeshan2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This venue is really worth What you’re paying. Although it’s not the most comfortable accommodation, it’s location more than makes up for it, and the accommodations are very clean. I really appreciated the kind staff as I came and went. Altogether, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

    Ben2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to stay in a great location downtown, it's hard to beat this price, but keep in mind, there's no AC and streaming video on their WiFi is not the best (was watching UFC Saturday night and EPL Sunday morning). I made the mistake of booking without knowing their's no AC, so falling asleep took a while after a hot sunny day, but once the sun set, it wasn't a problem. My favorite things were the staff, which held my bags before check in and after check out while I explored the city, and the view from my window. If you plan to spend nearly all your time outside the room and just need a place to crash, and you're fine without AC or reliable video streaming, this is your spot. Overall, I would stay again but not in the summer, and I would plan my time better so I only come back to crash.

    Samuel2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This location is great if you need to be in the middle of the financial district. This is close to a lot of good food and drink places. It's nice to walk outside and be surrounded by great culture.

If you are looking to be in downtown SF w/ all the comforts of home and at the fraction of the cost of a hotel then look no further! Conveniently located next to Union Square, the Tenderloin, Nob Hill, and the Financial District this place is in the middle of it all! Restaurants, shops, and attractions are steps out the door. We look forward to hosting your stay whether for business or pleasure!
A very convenient studio that is located next door to the Hilton SF. - Hardwood floors - Wifi - Smart TV - Fully - equipped kitchen - On - site laundry - Extra linens, towels, and blankets
San Francisco is a very diverse city and intermixed which is noticeable while staying. Homelessness is prevalent in the area. This location is on the cusp of 4 neighborhoods so the scenery will change based on which direction you walk. Tons of public transportation options but more than likely you will be able to walk everywhere.
  • I'd probably avoid staying in the Tenderloin in the future, but if you don't mind living in a vortex of human misery the suites are super convenient and tidy.

    Meaghan2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • It's surprisingly good. The building is super old as most buildings in SF are, but the apartments are clearly mantained and remodeled. It's simple, but good enough for work trips and such. Location is good.

    John2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is very clean and reasonably spacious. The kitchen is very well equipped. Nothing beats having your own bedroom/kitchen/bathroom. I was worried about the homeless situation outside, but it's really nothing to worry about. I stayed here for 3 months and no one bothered me. You still have to be smart though. If you walk around with your purse hanging open, not paying attention, people are going to take advantage of you, just like anywhere in a city. Mind your business and you'll be fine. If you walk one block east or one block north you are almost completely out of the Tenderloin and into the hundreds of shops of Union Square. With that being said, this place is an extremely great value. If it bothers you, it can get noisy outside at times between the traffic and occasional yelling. The only thing I didn't like about my stay was the laundry situation. They have 2 washers and 2 dryers in the basement, but 1 washer and 1 dryer were broken most of the summer. That made getting laundry done take a little longer than usual. Other than that, the host is extremely responsive to any questions or concerns. I would definitely stay here again!

We offer short and long term rooms for the economical travellers of today.
Like the general theme of San Francisco, our neighborhood is a melting pot of different people with different lifestyles ranging from homeless people to CEO's
  • Helpful staff, bathrooms and showers are clean, and the monthly rate is very reasonable. Central location with easy access to public transportation.

Hotel in Tenderloin about 4 blocks from Downtown/Union Square and Shopping Center. Public Transportation is at every block and Moscone Center is a 10 min walk. You’ll love my place because of Convenience and it's good for all travelers. Our hotel is centrally located to everything you could possibly think of however there is a church/shelter a block away which gets the sidewalk filled with homeless people. Since our location is close to downtown the streets may get a little noisy and dirty.
You get a private which sleeps 2 people. You get 1 double bed, fridge, tv and some other basic amenities. If you stay more then a day we do offer housekeeping during the morning. We don't have a parking lot but we work with a garage around the corner however they charge per day. Depending on the season it can be anywhere between $20 - 35 plus tax. This is the cheapest garage I was able to find that was close enough to the hotel. This hotel is 100% non-smoking so if you do smoke please do it outside.
Things you should know before you book at this hotel. 1. This is a hotel not a house. 2. You get a private room and the door does lock. 3. Bathrooms are in the hallway which you will share with other guests. 4. When you arrive to the hotel you don't need to contact me. Just press the button on the gate which then we will buzz you in. Come inside and we will check you in. 5. Our hotel is centrally located to everything you could possibly think of however there is a church/shelter a block away which gets the sidewalk filled with homeless people but there are streets you can take to avoid them. 6. We don't have a parking lot but there is a garage around the corner from us but they charge. Depending on the car its $20 plus per day.
  • Great value for money and very clean. That's what I expected and that's what I received. Read the descriptions and reviews. It's exactly what you can expect. Although, I'd say it was actually 'cleaner' than I expected. Thanks Akshay.

    Jon2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Cheap and the room itself isn’t that bad for what you pay. Pretty clean and simple. But a lot of homeless people so didn’t feel very safe and the showers were cold. In a group probably not that bad but single traveller wouldn’t suggest the Tenderloin area. Always get an Uber back to the place if you stay

    Alex2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cheapest thing you'll find in San Francisco but you get what you pay for. Simple room and shared bathrooms, not a bad experience. However, it was pretty loud at night and you can hear doors opening and closing and people walking in the hallways. As mentioned in other reviews, heavy homeless population outside but never felt threatned or unsafe.

    Erica2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as described! A lot of homeless people on that street but there are a few you can take to kinda stay away from them. 20-30 minute walk away from pier 39!

    Liisbet2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described, clean efficient and close to downtown. Would happily stay again

    Miguel Alejandro2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great and convenient. However, there are plenty of homeless people around so I would advice to be careful. Besides that, two of my friends and I enjoyed SF.

    Redeat2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • As noted in other reviews, the hotel is in Tenderloin, an area where there are a lot of homeless people on the street. It's a little confronting at first, but we never had any issues whatsoever and we came and went at all hours during our four night stay. We actually noticed that at night time less people seemed to be out. If you go a few blocks either way the vibe changes entirely, and it is a really quick walk to Union square and also to the metro station. In terms of the room itself we were very happy with it. The room was tidy, and had a tv, sink and refrigerator. The room was also serviced daily which meant fresh towels and our bed was made for us. The bathrooms were just down the hall and they were also cleaned daily. Overall we were happy with the hotel, the neighbourhood wasn't the best but as above we never had any issues with this.

Roof-top with panoramic views and multiple lounge areas available for guests (HoA rules must be respected). (Hidden by Airbnb) Fiber with 500 Mb up and down speed. IKEA desk and chair available in the living room. Host (me) sleeps in the living room on the couch. The bedroom has a California king sized mattress, built-in closet (that can be emptied upon request) remote controllable shades.
Apartment overlooks the courtyard of the building, very quiet and does not get exposed to street noise when windows are closed.
It is a high risk area. Nothing bad ever happened to me personally. Always happy to provide escorts to BART/Uber/Lyft if a guest feels not comfortable to exit/enter the premises on their own.

  • If value is the top of your list then this is your spot. The tenderloin is for real though, so be ready for the noise and smells associated

  • Great place. Pretty close to places so taking a lyft/uber are pretty good priced. Parking was tricky. Parked at Ace parking garage allowing overnight parking. Payed $49. And had to walk about 10 min so if you got lots of bags, drop them off first! Might be worth to check out other parking garage rates. Host had super quick responses, so any questions you have will be answered quickly.

  • The building has a good location downtown, and you can take a scenic walk to the touristic spots or take the cable car which stops a couple of blocks away. Checking in was easy, as both the front gate and room open with key codes, so no trouble with keys you might lose. The room was clean, light, and the bed was great. Plus is that I had a personal sink and mirror in my room, so you don't have to leave the room to brush your teeth etc. Bathroom and toilet facilities are clean and neat, and while they are shared, I never had to wait. You also have free wifi, so everything is included. Will visit again when I ever return to SF.

  • My experience was great being here. Everything we needed to know and all of our questions were answered. The only issue was parking, but it was only a few minutes of walking to and from the room. We didn't really use the shared kitchen, but our stay was great and was close enough to our destinations so we were perfectly content with the room! It wasn't too bad sharing the restroom or shower room because they were always available when we needed them. Great experience! Will definitely want to use again for our next trip to San Francisco. Thank you!

My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. Don't worry about it, and really, Geary all the way in both directions isn't bad
This space is good for single people. We have 3 basic single rooms. They are all priced the same and are all same sizes although decorated differently. So, when you book a basic single room, you can be in one of the 3 rooms featured in this listing. The room has a sink, a hair dryer, a robe and a closet/dresser. All toiletries included and a complementary bottled water. These rooms are with-in steps to the Restrooms and Shower Room.

  • Virgilio is very friendly, he is a kind host, room was very clean, bed was very comfortable with new white sheets, WiFi is included. Not so good things: very old hotel (with old carpets in the hallway), small TV screen and shared bathroom/shower, if your are OK with that then this is a good option for you.

  • Place is very much as described. I was in Room #5 and need to sleep with the window open, unless it's freezing. Well, on a Saturday night there, there was a loud and long party right below my window which totally disrupted my sleep. The window being closed did not help much, either.

The White Swan Inn is at the base of famous Nob Hill, within walking distance to Union Square, restaurants, shopping and the theatre district.
  • This inn is really lovely. It's a pleasant oasis in the middle of the city. The awesome breakfast is served in a cool funky dining room space. There are cookies in a jar in the lobby in the afternoon. Friendly staff, thoughtful touches. Will definitely stay again.

  • We enjoyed our single night stay at the White Swan Inn, unfortunately we arrived too late to enjoy the appetizers and wine but they were kind enough to bring us a bottle of wine when we arrived! We also weren't able to enjoy the morning buffet breakfast, but it looked fantastic. Had we been there longer, we would have liked to have sat in the common area by the fireplaces reading and relaxing. We were in San Francisco on a rainy day on our way out of town. Great central location, 20 minute walk to the sites, and good sushi around the corner. Thank you to the staff for their hospitality, and sending us on our way with so many complimentary water bottles!

  • Great check in and overall service. The towels were soft and I loved to have robes available too. The room was clean and comfy. I was so happy to have someone there at 1Am when I got in. Life saver! Everyone was super friendly too. Looking fwd to coming back!

  • The Bartlett is clean and quiet in the heart of downtown SF. It is also affordable in an otherwise un-affordable location. It also has a great bar downstairs. Overall it beat my expectations.

    Jaimi2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described on website- safe, clean, convenient location! My husband and I hope to stay there again when in SF.

  • Great location and comfortable / clean room for the price. We had a room with private bathroom and it was all that we needed for a quick stay.

    Joe2016-10-08T00:00:00Z

  • Visited the bunkhouse for a conference and met a lot of interesting students. The bunkhouse had the basic needs so if you're out and about and dont mind coming home to a bed, TV, and small bathroom then this place is for you!

    John2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel was as pictures in the listing. It was comfortable with updated bathroom and furnishings. Very centrally located which was awesome. The room was not completely cleaned when I arrived (trash on floor) which was a bit of a put off and cleaning is not available during stay. Besides that it accomplished the purpose of a comfortable and central place to crash during a work visit.

    Katie2016-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a hotel that uses AirBNB. They overbooked the hotel during a convention and then dumped all the AirBNB users. No notice, no help, just "we have no rooms so you need to leave now" at the front desk. They straight up left me hanging. Caveat Emptor.

Located on Market Street, across from the Orpheum Theater, the hotel is a San Francisco sanctuary surrounded by trendy Soma and Hayes Valley restaurants, shops and attractions. • The bedroom we stayed at The Hotel Whitcomb was okay. Its good for just the night. The cleanliness was decent but, some areas of the bathroom looked like they used previous used amenities in there like the box of tissue for example. The place was under construction so it made is somewhat difficult to find the place from the picture. Also, they mentioned parking is first come first serve but in reality you have to pay for valet parking which for us was about $65/night or you can drive a few blocks down and try to look for parking. Over all id give this place 2.5 to 3 stars. Service was great but the location, environment was not that good.

  • This place is a wonderful stay for anyone staying in San Francisco. It's so clean, comfortable, and in the heart of everything. I would definitely stay here again.

    Christofer2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Pretty good hotel, cheap for the spot. Not luxury or anything but was clean and the company was responsive and helpful for all our questions. If you're looking for a spot to leave your shit and sleep comfy at night, this is good. Don't expect to get lit at the pool or hotel bar or anything

    Ben2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This hotel is located just south of the Tenderloin area, which is the worst crime location in SF. If you don’t mind driving or taking a Lyft to get to your destination I’d say go for it. If you prefer to walk the city I’d say this is not the place for you.

    Kathleen2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Hotel is located is the city and has a old charm to it. Doesn’t have all modern electronic conveniences, ie, lots of plug in’s. Rooms are a bit small and crowded, but ok for 1 night.

  • Great place. Very close to the Bart. Easy walking distance to Chinatown. Lots of cool stuff close by.

    Michael2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Check in and out was very quick. The room and bathroom were very clean with towels and toiletries already stocked up. There was a heater in the room, but we turned it off because the building itself was already quite warm. There wasn't housekeeping between nights, but it was no issue for us. The elevator can be a little slow as there are 7 floors and 1 elevator, which the cleaning crew also uses. Overall, it was a pleasant stay at The Bartlett.

    Mary2017-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Bunkhouse was really good. It was a small simple room that was perfect for 2 people. Reminded me of a European hotel--small but good for a short visit. The bathroom was updated and clean. Might have been nice to have a few homey-type things in the room (rug, wall decorations). The location was great, a lot of shopping nearby and super close to all forms of transportation. For the price, this was a great stay!

    Emily2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool place. I would totally stay here again.

    David2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Its an older building, and everything is very basic, but it is also clean and well maintained. It is within a block of a number of great restaurants, the bart station and market street.. This is really a great deal and a great place to stay. It is also worth noting that you are near the infamous tenderloin, but you are definitely not in it.

  • Smaller than expected, the spiral staircase seems like a cool idea until you realize how impractical it is. Good location though!

  • If you get the loft room, there are no mirrors in the lower bedroom level so you have to drag your things up the staircase to the bathroom level. It’s a cute idea but not very practical. Also, the bed frame has a built in light that never shuts off.

The newly remodeled bedroom is located in my totally remodeled 6 bedroom 6 bath unit It's just one block from the Top of Nob Hill where the Fairmont, Mark Hopkins, and Huntington hotels are located and a short stroll to Union Square, Chinatown and several other popular amenities. Each room has its own private en-suite bathroom and electronic lock for added privacy and convenience, Wi-Fi, fresh towels and linens, smart TV, desk, etc.
  • Jessica a responsive and delightful hostess. The room and amenities are great and well located to the CBD especially if you like walking steep hills, which I do!

  • It's a terrible experience. Hairs all around in the bath room and stains, owners stuff in closet..haha. My room #2 is right under #1( owner didn't tell me my room is in the basement..haha). I couldn't sleep cause noise all night, I can hear his all walking , water flushing.. It's not his fault. Owner should not have rent this room, or she should let customers know It's basement room and noise from upstairs. And cable TV was not working, she said will take care of it,but nobody come. Hopefully she find a better house keeper and put more honest information on AirBNB

The only problem is the noise of the people coming in/out or on the first floor some times but that is not so bad to not recommend it! • Hotel Whitcomb is conveniently located on Market close to the Muni and Bart. The building is older but well kept and charming. The hallways are wide and ceilings high. I found the space comfortable, and the people friendly. I was able to relax quickly.

    Jeff2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room I ordered was pretty much exactly as I expected. I had a one superior king room and it was very comfortable. I wish the room had more lighting, or perhaps better lighting as the lamps seemed a little dim. There are multiple shades on the window to help control the natural light, but I felt that my window faced other windows relatively easily. The TV channels are somewhat limited, but you are able to purchase movies if you're ok with paying the price, although I did not really stay in the room while I was visiting the city. The staff was very nice, from the front desk to the housekeepers. Of course, I really enjoyed the daily housekeeping services. It's always nice to come back to a clean and fresh room.

    Ean2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beware of the mandatory $35/night “urban fee” that Is only mentioned in the “ house tulles” . It is not obvious and I feel is a hidden fee. The hotel should insist that Airbnb Include it in the daily room charge so the guest could make an informed decision to rent the hotel or elsewhere.
