There is also a thriving arts and cultural scene in Waterloo with theatres such as The Old Vic providing entertainment, and a large selection of bars, cafes and restaurants. You’ll also find Westminster and its landmarks (including the Houses of Parliament) just across Westminster Bridge. Waterloo Train and Tube Station is another huge positive of the district as you can access all areas of London and beyond in next to no time! Newly refurbished generous en-suite bedroom with private work/study desk and a reasonably strong wifi connection included in the price. There is a safe for confidential documents and personal possessions and shared use of a tea point for drinks. Please be aware that there are no cooking facilities however there are plenty of local cafes, pubs and restaurants on the doorstep. The location is fantastic it is right by the Royal Courts of Justice in "lawyer land" and just by the River Thames.
The private room is located on the first floor walk up above a gastropub which is due to reopen post refurbishment in the Spring of 2019. The entrance is via a pedestrianised walkway
The area is the epitome of old London. The building dates back to 1676 when it was The Grecian Coffee House. it is tucked in between various barristers chambers and public gardens and is a couple minutes walk from the River Thames and just behind Fleet Street, famous for being the home of the capital's newspaper industry. The imposing Royal Courts of Justice are around the corner and the nearest underground stations are Temple and Blackfriars although Covent Garden and the City are within easy walking distance.

Duchy House is located on the junction of the Strand and Waterloo Bridge and within easy reach of major attractions such as: Somerset House, The Courtauld Gallery, South Bank London, Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Oxford Street. Excellent travel links make Duchy House easy to get to, with 5 underground stations less than 800 meters from the property and several bus routes operating nearby.
Duchy House is a 19th century building and has both double and single occupancy bedrooms across four floors, with lift access. Our bedrooms range in size and guests have a choice of rooms with either ensuite or shared shower room facilities. All guests have access to a communal kitchen located on each floor for basic self-catering, with common rooms and an onsite laundry is also available for use in the basement.
There are a number of coffee shop outlets (Café Nero, Pret-a-Manger, Starbucks etc.) adjacent to and/or within a five minute walk of Duchy House where you can pick up a coffee and other light refreshments. A small supermarket (Tesco's Express) and Boots the Chemist is also located across the road with a small Sainsbury's Local supermarket located a short-distance along the Strand towards Trafalgar Square .

The apartment is located very centrally in the Holborn / Chancery Lane area, in between the West End and the City. All major Central London attractions are within walking distance, and so are public transports (5 minutes walk to Chancery Lane station on the Central Line, 8 minutes walk to Holborn station from where you can take the Piccadilly Line directly to Heathrow). In addition, the apartment is only a few minutes walk from the borders of the Thames and the Northbank promenade. Finally, location is also ideal for professionals, with numerous law firms, investment banks or accounting firms within walking distance. The apartment is on the 5th floor (without elevator, about 90 steps) and is therefore very bright with sunlight from morning to evening (partially also through velux windows on the ceiling). It is 52m2 in size (about 550 square feet), sleeps 4 people, and consists of one large, very quiet bedroom (with large built-in wardrobes), one brand new bathroom with bathtub and rain shower, one brand new kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and breakfast bar as well as a living room with sofabed and flat screen TV. Free wifi is also available. I will also welcome you with a free bottle of your choice - prosecco, white wine or red wine. Finally, I offer a free one-day gym pass per guest for stays over a week. Weekly gym passes can be arranged for a fee on request. PS - IMPORTANT: We make it clear in this listing that the apartment is on the 5th floor without elevator. This is not a problem for most guests - some even enjoy it! However, if you have difficulties walking or certain health issues, this might not be the right holiday home for you. Since this is probably the only thing we cannot change about the apartment - we have reflected it in our prices, to make them very competitive.
