  • Super friendly, made everything easy and the place was clean and in a great neighborhood!! I will definitely be back!

  • Norman's place is in a great location. He was very helpful and respectful of guests privacy. I enjoyed my stay and would go back.

  • Very nice place. Incredibly well located and extremely clean.

    Sebastien2018-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place is according to the published pictures. Bathroom is so big that i felt like putting a chair in the corner and read a book and relax in there :)

    Jantine2019-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The room is nice but too noisy. The bathroom was dusty. The check-in has been a disaster, we waited for 20 minutes down in the street with our luggage while it was raining and Norman’s co-host didn’t answer to any of our calls, not even to the intercom. After a lot of time ( and rain) we went up to the apartment but the room wasn’t ready yet so we had to wait in the living room. Disappointed

    Enrico2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Super accommodating and very helpful from the booking until check out and beyond

    梦Meng2018-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • James' place was great! The location is great and walking distance to many cool places! Everything was very clean and the bed is comfortable. The shower room and restroom is out in the hallway, shared by other tenants on that floor, but they were also clean and we never had an issue. James is super kind - he even helped us carry our suitcases up the stairs and checked in on us multiple times. Thanks for everything, James! I recommend this place :)

    Ally2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The host canceled this reservation 30 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    Jose2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in James' apartment. The only thing that let it down was the shower being a bit grimy, though this was partly due to age.

    Mark2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most fantastic stay at James place. The apartment is located in the heart of Chelsea-so close to everything you could need. The room was perfect and comfortable and gave me the privacy I needed at night, ensuring I had the best nights sleep during my stay. James and his partner were so quick at communicating with me and made he check in process so easy, even letting me drop my big backpack off before check in time which I really appreciated! I would definitely recommend staying at James Airbnb- it made my time in NYC so special!

    Han2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Its a great place to live in NY. Great value for money, excellent location and the room is perfect. Small, clean comfortable room which has everything. James is a great host, very responsive on texts, asks you if you need anything. I loved this place and if i visit newyork again will definitely stay here.

    Ayesha2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and cute little apartment! The shower and toilets are on the corridor fyi which I didn’t get (totally my bad)! But it was really clean. Thanks again James!

  • Great location excellent hosts very clean very small room

    Debbie2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice area in Chelsea, very NYC neighborhood, the room is small but clean and the apartment is very tidy. The only problem is since it’s next to the street there can be some noises at night and in the morning, but it’s very thoughtful that the host prepare some earplugs. I had a very nice stay!

    Bettie2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely room in a great location with a fantastic host. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting New York.

    Jonny2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was lovely! This was my first time staying in an apartment in New York and I hadn't realized how thin the walls are/how badly the floor creaks. So, when I did come home at late/early hours I had to be extra careful with my movements. Other than that, I'd highly recommend booking with Colin!

    Kelsi2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a bedroom BUT the bedroom was clean, the amenities functional and the apartment modern and clean and it was in a great spot for me. I would stay here again!

    Bernadette2019-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Colin is a great host - reliable, respectful, helpful and responds quickly to any concerns or questions. The place is clean and stylish and as described in their post. The best part is the shower. I stayed in this place for over a month and loved 99% of my stay. I hope to come back next time I’m in the city for work.

    Gaylynn2018-11-09T00:00:00Z

The bedroom is in my apartment, which is on the third floor of a three story building on 23rd Street and 7th Avenue in Chelsea. Close to everything in Manhattan.
Pictures say it all. I have one spacious living room and kitchen, and one bathroom that we share. Your bedroom is 14ft x 10ft and it has a full bed, one desk, and some cabinet space. I provide one towel for your stay and you are welcome to use my bathroom products if you want to. There is one window AC unit for the common areas and one portable AC unit for your bedroom. Please be mindful of using the bedroom's AC unit only when you are present. I also provide a fan for your bedroom. I keep the apt pretty organized and clean, and I expect you keep the common areas in good conditions. If you cook, you are also expected to clean up after yourself.
It's centrally located. Plenty of galleries, restaurants and bars. The high line and Madison Square park are a couple of blocks away and I'd be happy to give you recommendations if you need any.
  • Arrived after a very long flight. Eduardo was out of town when I arrived but he communicated very effectively with me by text and arranged for a friend to let me in. He arrived later in the day and was friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. It's on a busy street, close to subway, in a very central part of Manhattan. Quite a lot of street noise but earplugs dealt with that. Apartment was neat and tidy and as described.

    Michael2014-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo's room is an excellent place to stay while you are visiting NY. It's well located near everything. It has the metro 1 line just downstairs! The room is big and the bed is confortable, perfect for resting after walking in the city. The bathroom (and all the appartment) was neat and clean, with a towel included. He even left some guides and maps of NYC. I would not hesitate in come back here if I had the chance.

    George2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo is a nice host. His flat is great and well located in Chelsea.

    Jean-Christophe2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo was very attentive and accommodating. I never got to meet him, but he responded very quickly with any questions. Any concerns were dealt with immediately. Eduardo's place was just as advertised. Very central location in a nice neighborhood with all you need close by. Would recommend and stay again.

    Jason2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome and supertidy.. location is near sub station and shops.. many coffeeshop, minimarket, restaurant arround..

    Danis2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo was a great host. The apartment is clean and well-located. The only thing I would add (I don't mean this in a bad way at all) is it is important for outsiders to realize it is really an excellent functional apartment - it's not a cute romantic getaway, in other words, it's more of an affordable, nice pad from which to explore the city. I would also add for those with bad legs there are some steep stairs entering the place, though nothing too major. In sum, if you're looking for an affordable pad from which to explore the city, it's a good option and Eduardo is a great host.

    Jim2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo was great and the apartment is in a great location!

    Jordi2019-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Eduardo was an excellent, welcoming host and his place was exactly what I needed. He was quick to reply and very helpful. Check-in was easy, everything was set out for my arrival, and the apartment was very clean. It was also quite large (by NYC standards) and well-appointed. It's also in a great neighborhood with easy access to everything in the city. I would absolutely recommend Eduardo's place to anyone staying in New York.

Welcome to tree-lined Chelsea! Our quaint apartment is nestled quietly amongst trees and picturesque brownstones, complete with a magnificent communal outdoor space perfect for evenings at home after a long day of being out in the city! The apartment is 3 bedrooms/1 bath, shared with myself and one other room we host on Airbnb.
  • Nice place and very convenient. It’s near the subway and the famous landmarks!

    Nallely2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Brett has been the best host I've stayed with in my years of doing Airbnb. Great guy, great communication and set up. The apartment is in a great location and I couldn't recommend it more highly!

    Alex2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Brett's place! It was the first completely quiet room I've stayed in in NYC. It was also air conditioned, clean, and in a safe neighborhood. He was kind and flexible when I needed to store my luggage there before check-in and after check-out.

    Aubry2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and very stylish space. Host is very kind and accommodating. Would highly recommend!

    Sara2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastically located in the heart of the Chelsea neighbourhood. We were able to walk to a lot of things which was great. The apartment itself is very small and the room is a bit of squeeze for two people and luggage. But if you are only using the place to sleep then it does its job. The listing is also a little unclear because Brett doesn’t actually live in the apartment and it’s his friend Daniel. Not a problem but just adds to the confusion at check in. Daniel was great at giving tips and recommendations for around the neighbourhood!

    Corina2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Good location

    Andrew2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's spot is on a nice quiet street, great for when you just need a good rest. Would stay here again!

    Richard2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • good location. cramped room and tight shared space. I wouldn't recommend sharing a room with more than one person, bc the common space is small and awkward, so you only have the room to yourself. the location is perfect tho. and communication could have been much better. I only got quick responses when they needed something from me, not the other way around.

Summer rental. Price is already discounted for longer stays. My bedroom, with a shared living room, kitchen and 1 bathroom is available for sublet! The neighborhood is perfect and easy to walk to everything nearby and the subways are also close if you need to go further up or downtown! It is fully furnished & linens are provided. *Utilities not included*
It is right in the center of Chelsea and super close to public transportation (the ACE, L, and 123 subways). It is a block away from the Highline and three blocks from the Hudson and Chelsea Piers. Meatpacking is 3 blocks away and so is Chelsea Market. We are biased of course but we think it is the best location in Manhattan.
Frankly, and I am biased, this is the best neighborhood in Manhattan. We are located a block from the Highline, 3 blocks from Chelsea Market and the Meatpacking district. Some of the best clubs, and nightlife in the world are 3-5 blocks away. The Hudson is 2.5 blocks away if you want to go for a run or a ride, there is a Citibike rack a block away. Subways (1,2,3,A,C,E and L) are around the corner and one of the best French bakeries in NYC is across the street.

  • Great location. No locks on rooms. Clean and quiet.

    Akshat2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is problematic. Ideally, this would be a great stay but there were many issues: 1. I arrived and was let into the room but the host could not find a key. 2. I was told there was a lockbox for the key, there was not. 3. The room pictured is not the room I received. 4. The shower and toilet leaked 24/7 and this is something you listen to. 5. Very noisy as the AC has the window open and you are on 9th ave. 6. On the last day there was a man in the bedroom when I returned to move out with my cash, personal items, and computer all moved. My passport is missing and I have not found it. He was making up the room for the next guest before it was time for check-out.

In addition to being within walking distance of Time Square, the Empire State Building, Koreatown, Herald Square, Penn Station, and the Village, you are central enough to be to any major site in Manhattan quickly by train. The three biggest galleries, each with multiple locations, are Gagosian (21st and 24th), David Zwirner (19th and 20th), and Pace (24th and 25th). They’re worth visiting for museum-quality shows by notable artists (you might catch Richard Serra’s massive steel sculptures at Gagosian, a Yayoi Kusama installation at Zwirner, or paintings by Mark Rothko at Pace). You can also bank on seeing excellent art at Cheim & Read (25th), Marlborough (25th), Barbara Gladstone (24th, with a smaller space on 21st), Paula Cooper (21st), Jack Shainman (20th), and Hauser & Wirth (18th)—which is also home to the neighborhood’s best kept secret: In the back of the massive space is Roth Bar (technically a work of art and a permanent installation), which serves free espresso on Fridays and Saturdays. If you need a real snack: the couches in the dark, cozy Intelligentsia Café at The High Line Hotel are an ideal place to recharge with a brownie and a cortado. For a full sit-down meal, Chop Shop, Cookshop, El Quinto Pino, and Bottino are all great neighborhood options. And, in case you need a palate cleanser between all those poured concrete floors and white walls, Printed Matter on 26th and 11th is an eclectic bookstore that carries artist’s editions alongside an mix of books, zines, and other ephemera.
  • My experience in this apartment was perfect. I left my keys in the room the first day when I checked in, and locked myself out of the apartment. Shane, who hosts together with Dan, responded very quickly and helped me out immediately. Dan and Shane are very accommodating, and they would love to provide useful information about traveling around New York if you didn't make any plans beforehand. The bed is super comfy and clean, which I love a lot. I also got reserved space in the refrigerator and the drawer below the sink, which made my life in very convenient. Overall I enjoy staying here.

  • Liked this location a lot! Next to a couple good restaurants Copper Still, The Meatball Shop and Pastis are worth checking out. Citizen for coffee! Cabs are not worth taking just use the subway much cheaper. Big thanks to the hosts for this space and letting me stay

  • I recommend Dan's apartment: it's well located and communicated, it's in a good neighborhood and is very nice. Dan is a very attentive host. When we return to NY we will repeat with Dan.

  • The location of the appartment is great. The subway is only one block away. The the room is smal but good enough for two. Everything was realy clean even the bathroom and kitchen. The neighbourhood was very nice. There are enough places to have breakfast, dinner or takeout. We had soms trouble finding our keys when we arrived but Shane was very kind and helped us immediately. We woud absolutley stay here again is we ever go back to New York.

  • Had a great time over here! The apt is located in a quiet area, which we really liked. We had a warm welcome and made some connections with other people staying at the apt, they were all very tidy! We felt like we were at home. Deff coming back here if we go back to NYC one day! Thank you so much for everything!

    Pavel2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Location is very good. High-Line, Chelsea Market and Chelsea Pier are just a few min walk away. Subway station is a bit further away hence we walked a lot. Apartment has a small balcony which I think is very unusual and has all amenities in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Due to the cold weather the apartment was really cold (the hallway was warmer than the apartment) but the building already switched off the heating. We wanted to buy a small electric heater but is impossible at that time of the year. Also note that it took us 15 min and YouTube to figure out the shower facet. According to the comments in the how-to-video it's not a cultural thing as supposed first (Europe vs USA). Justin also let us leave our luggage for a few hours as we had an evening flight. We can totally recommend this AirBnB!

  • Very clean bedroom and bathroom; very convenient for transportation - and Time Square is in the walking distance! The living room is also cozy; friendly host!

  • I booked Louie's room in Times Sq last minute, and he was very responsive and made sure I had a smooth check in.

    Jonathan2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Louie's place is in the middle of everything. I definitely recommend it to everyone.

    Henry2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really good and helpful host. I needed a place last minute and he helped me. Everyone involved was extremely accommodating. The place is small but is right next to everything.

    Kaif2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, quiet bedroom and shared bathroom, friendly unobtrusive host, great location right off Times Square and across from Penn Station in a fourth-floor walkup. Appropriate for budget travelers, students, etc. Those accustomed to amenities such as air conditioning or an elevator might find this a bit basic.

    Katharine2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Louie's house location is perfect, you can go Times Square less than 10min and a big station less than a minute. There is a 24hours supermarket, fast food restaurants, and the street famous for lots of place to eat and drink. House is very clean and tidy. The bed I slept on was very comfortable. Louie was very kind and helpful person. Even I barely talked with him but he took care of me during my staying. If I come back to New York again, I'd like to stay his house again.

    Hikari2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Louie is a fantastic host! By far one of the best I’ve worked with since joining Airbnb a year ago. He is super nice! I booked with him at the last minute and he was able to quickly make accommodations for me. I would recommend his place to anyone looking for a nice, comfortable, and clean place to stay! It was very apparent that Louie keeps his place in tip top shape and made sure I was taken care of. I will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in NYC!

  • Candice’s apartment was the perfect place for us. The location was perfect. We would walk to the Chelsea market every night. Everything was literally five minutes away. The apartment was sparkling clean with the most comfortable bed and a big clean bathroom. Candice was always available for any questions we had. She’s genuinely helpful and was a great host. It was such a comfortable stay. Will surely stay again. Soon

    Nida2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Candice is a very generous and helpful host. She was extremely kind and helped me find some local hot spots. The room is beautiful! Very large, with a dresser and closet with hangers. Also the bathroom is large with a shower and jacuzzi tub. I didn’t get a chance to try the jacuzzi tub, but the shower was very refreshing after a hot day. This would be a great room for couples or friends/siblings that don’t mind having a pretty open restroom (only a curtain separates the two rooms). The location is very close to food, the subway, and Times Square. I was able to walk to a broadway show and Greenwich village, both were about 20 minute walks. It was an extremely nice accommodation, and I will definitely stay here again!

    Kelley2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were very satisfied with our stay in Candice apartment. She was such a kind host, very helpful, and easy to get in touch with. We would recommend anyone to stay at Candice’s place

  • Apesar de viajar com frequência não costumo deixar avaliações, mas acho que desta vez seria ser invejoso não partilhar com outros viajantes, principalmente de língua portuguesa, a qualidade do quarto em que ficamos na casa de Candice. A zona é maravilhosa e segura, a partir deste bairro é possível ir a todas as partes a pé. Obrigado Candice.

  • Great location! The space was perfect for my wife and I. Comfortable pull out, clean space very functional given the small size. However we really loved the space and we felt like we got the NYC experience staying here.

  • Antonia is very nice and kind. She made sure to explain everything in detail. She left food in the fridge and snacka, which was a really nice touch. The apartment is small but quaint and one doesn't need a lot of space when visiting NYC. Antonia has a lot of suggestions of places to go and things to see. She is very respnsive by phone and text. The apartment is conveniently located, although at night it can be a little bit sketchy if come from the direction of 9th avenue. Really the only thing i wish i had known is that the apartment has previously been smoked in, and some people, like myself, could be very sensitive to the smell of cigarette smoke. My husband wasn't really bothered by it however, so really depends on how sensitive you are. Also, the bed is a pull out couch so be prepared for that. Overall the place has good value as it is very close to times square and many other locations.

    Sanda2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is nice and cosy. The host is very warm and welcoming. She gives great tips on how to enjoy NYC without spending necessarily crazy money. You won’t regret borrowing her apartment!

    Fabrice2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Antonia’s place is in a great location and really close to all the iconic spots. The subway station is only a 5 minute walk. This place is good for only two people max and don’t care about sleeping on a big comfortable bed. Antonia treated us very well and inform us about the area and where to eat. She was a great host. I would stay here again or recommend to my friends.

The hearts of Hudson Yard! Near Vessel, Mall, High Line Park, Javits, Time Squares, Herald Square, Penn Station, Port Authority, B&H, 24hr Deli, Grocery, Drug Store, Police Station, Subway, Restaurants. Apartment is high with great view of the city, convenient to everything, great light, big windows, comfy bed, kitchen, coziness, big bathroom, full living room with fireplace. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers,& families. Please read everything before booking!
The living room have a beautiful designer comfy couch. Great for extra guest to sleep on. There is a fireplace which I can help you light it up. There is a clothing rack, steamer, and iron. The place is greatly light with huge windows in the room and from the kitchen too. There is a curtain that divides the living room from your bed. It's up to you if you want to close that curtain. I have full size mirror. The entree to the main front door has a curtain which you can close for full privacy. I have a door on my side. The bed is next to the heater and the window. If the heater gets to hot, please let me know so I can show you how to turn it down. You can also open the window too. The queen bed is firmed. I have a soft topper on the bed also. But if you want it really firmed, just let me know and I can remove the topper. This building has a 24 hour doorman. **********Please read everything before booking!********** KITCHEN: The kitchen is small. There's not much counter space, so it not idea for major cooking- only for light, small, easy and quick cooking. There are 4 stove gas stove. I don't recommed to use the oven as I use that to store pots and pans. Please clean after yourself in the kitchen including dishes. I have 1 pot, 1 pan and full set dishes and glass set. The fridge is small so it's not idea for guest who want to stock up on groceries. I have a fined wine in the fridge. You are welcome to drink it but will have to charge you for the bottle which are around $80-$100. I will use the kitchen when you are not there to make food for my dogs and may make myself some food but will clean up after. I usually feed my dogs in the afternoon or evening. If you are there around any of those time. I will ask first before coming into the kitchen to get water and food for the dogs. AIR CONDITIONER: One in the kitchen is for your space. One in the bathroom is for my space. Please turn off AC when you leave the apartment. FRONT DOOR entree: There a a small security camera facing the front door when you walk in. That's the only camera in the apartment. There are no other cameras in your room, bathroom and kitchen so you still have your privacy. FRONT DOOR HALLWAY: I have a book shelve and a jogger in this area. So my apologies if the space is a little tight here. Though, this isn’t the space you will be renting. This space is a comment area to exit the front door. **********Please read everything before booking!**********
I love the convenient of walking distance to everything. Public transportation, restaurant, park, river, deli, dry cleaner, drug store, grocery market, post office, dry cleaner, you name it! It's all within a few blocks.

  • CZ’s place is very well located, the apartment is neat, with stylish details and very confortable. Chong was friendly, respectful and very accurate in our communications.

  • This was my first Airbnb. Overall I had a great experience. Not only did I get along well with my host, she was very helpful when I was getting ready to go out letting me know if my outfit was ok (she's in the fashion industry). She was respectful of my privacy, communicated well letting me know what was ok and what was not. She is very quiet but her Pomeranian dog does bark whenever a door opens (this didn't bother me but is good to know). I was her first Airbnb so she was still learning how to host for a stranger so I suggest talking to her if you have any particular preferences, temperature, space for your belongings, etc. Chong is a caring, respectful, social, and an amazing host that will try her best to accommodate your needs. I have made a new friend in NYC after my stay :)

    Yves2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Chong was a wonderful host, who answered our questions and was really flexible with our hectic schedule. I loved having her so close by to ask questions to. I didn't realize that she would be in the apartment as well, but that didn't matter for my colleague and I as we are not shy people and were in town for business and were almost never in the apartment, and I might have missed that in the listing description anyways, but still I actually really enjoyed having her so close by! And her sweet little dogs are just so cute!

    Marina2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Location is just a short walk from the Javits convention center, the high line, Penn Station and Times Square. Home decor is lovely and host is very sweet. Pets are very much a part of the space so if you are not comfortable with them this space is perhaps not a good fit.

    Yolanda2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Chong was absolutely great to have as a host. The location was beyond convenient, she was influential in our travels and desires in the city. She was very helpful and eventually understanding about the tiny, minuscule hiccups that may have come up. I wished that Zunky was more open to being around us, but it’s perfectly okay because we had ZuZu hanging out with us for the majority of the trip that we were in the unit. We weren’t necessary as open as we could’ve been in regards to when we were gonna be in and out, but it was a completely fine experience. The only thing I would bring up is the sternness about sitting on the couch. We understood about wanting to have a clean couch that is sensitive to stains but if that was the case, my only concern would be to maybe not have that couch in your air bnb if you’re that concerned about stains and having anyone sit on it. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would stay there again and recommend it to others! Thank you Chong! We will be back

    Antonio2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chong (the host) provided the most hospitable welcome into the New York City. From recommending insider's tips on places to eat and go right around the blocks to even paying a visit to a mall with me to find gifts, Chong went out of her way to make NYC a welcoming city. In addition, the airbnb is in walking distance to many attractions of the city so is in a perfect location for tourists as well as those on business trips.

The decor, over-sized windows and 11 foot ceilings represents the style, modernity, and warm feeling that the Chelsea has to offer.
Chelsea is known as the Gallery District, and you will be steps from internationally renowned spaces that you can easily explore.
  • The bed was comfy, and the neighborhood and apartment were very quiet. So I could sleep well. the room was small but that's good enough for me. if you want a place just to sleep in NYC, it will be worthy. and the hosts will give you many informations about the apartment and the city. it helped a lot.

Hi! Live like a local! I LOVE NYC & I'm happy to serve as ur concierge & help u personalize ur trip w/ tons of ideas! My studio is a sunny, warm, cozy home away from home! It's located in the heart of NYC! Sure it's a share, but you'll be my roommate(s)! I'm helpful in making sure u get the most out of NYC. Because it's a share, I'm open to friends traveling together, not couples. It's perfect for the solo female explorer, too! I've traveled alone & know what it's like. よろしく!
Hi! Centrally located apartment that is in the heart of everything! It's near The Highline, The Shed, Chelsea Market, Flatiron Building, Chelsea Galleries, The Whitney, Jacob Javits Center, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Macy's, Billy's Bakery, West Side Highway and more! I have typically only hosted one guest at a time, but realize that sometimes traveling alone can be daunting for many, so I am open to having friends stay too. Please realize that I provide two air mattresses. I prefer friends rather than couples, there can't be any hooking up since we share the space. よろしく! I'm currently working from home during the day. The apartment faces the street and it's usually quiet, but occasionally, as the weather gets warmer, there may be more noise and activity outside. I do provide earplugs. You'll have run of the apartment. It's a home and not a hotel or hostel. Please only light microwaving. There are many inexpensive / affordable places to eat nearby. I'm available to help you during your stay. I love this city and love for others to enjoy it fully. I'm happy to guide you and help you make the best of your trip while in NYC when I have time. My apartment is centrally located to everything! It's cozy and homey. The High-Line is 5 minutes away. You can see the Empire State Building from my window. My apartment is near the A,C.E / 1 / F trains which stop at 23rd Street.
My apartment is centrally located to everything! You can see the Empire State Building from my window. I live in Chelsea which is a neighborhood that doesn't have the typical hustle and bustle of the city despite being so central. My apartment is close to EVERYTHING! You can walk between 2 to 16 minutes to most of these sites: Jacob Javits Center, High Line, The Shed, Hudson Yards, Times Square, Flatiron Building, Broadway Theaters, Washington Square Park, The Village, the Meatpacking District, Hudson River, Empire State Building, Macy's, Madison Square Garden, Union Square, Chelsea Market, Eataly and more! Central Park and Ground Zero are about 30 minutes away on foot or 10 minutes by subway. Both are nice scenic walks. The subway is on my corner. Also every kind of store is nearby - Apple Store in the Meatpacking District, Vegan Fast Food, Vegan Restaurants, Restaurant on the Water, Organic Supermarket - Whole Foods, Gourmet Food Supermarket - Garden of Eden, $1 Pizza Place, cheap eats at Gray's Papaya, Big Chain Restaurants such as Olive Garden and The Outback, Foodie Places such as Momofuku, Major Comedy Clubs, Great Bars, The Lobster Place, great restaurants like Morimoto, shopping on 5th Avenue in The Flatiron District, speakeasies and more!
  • Sue was an amazing host! Communication was fast, she was there when I arrived midday and gave a minute-tour around her place which was charmingly eccentric in the way only a New York apartment would be! (think inflatable cactus and neon lips hall light). She also took me around the neighborhood to have lunch, get a local SIM, and buy sunflowers at the nearby Trader Joe's. Her fridge was stocked with unlimited bottles of water too! She's chatty with a lot of stories to tell, but tactful too when you want silence. I loved that there was more than one thick bath towel to use on my 4-night stay there. Location was great - a few minutes' walk to the train stations and the High Line Park and Chelsea Market just down the road, Flatiron and Times Square on the other end. Very convenient to get around on foot! Would stay here again in a heartbeat! :)

  • Sue was an amazing host, friendly, welcoming, helpful and full of tips for fun activities and original things to do and see. The apartment was very clean and Sue took care of changing the bed sheets and towels after a few days. The location is great, I enjoyed the area very much and it is well connected to all the major sites of the city. I would definitely recommend staying at Sue's place and would stay there again myself without hesitation!

  • Everything will satisfy your needs. First, great location, walkable to the subway station and restaurants. You can find everything you want near around. Second, amazing furnitures and fixtures. Those Japan-style furnitures make the house so cozy and distinctive. They are well organized and so reachable. Finally, the awesome host. Sue is such a warm and sweet host. She knows everything about this city and will give you great suggestions for your trip even on Christmas Day. You will never feel bored during your trip, and feel at home when staying with her. This is definitely the greatest place for those who have not been here before. And I would like to stay here if someday I come to New York again. High recommend!

  • Totally recommend!!

  • Oops I did it again, after one week staying with Sue, I decided to come back to her place. So I stayed my last 3 nights in NYC also with her! It was an amazing time, once she took me to Harlem and gave me a guided tour through the neighbourhood and the other day we went to Coney Island, it was great to have such a friendly host and personal city guide. The place was as cosy as the first time and I am really happy to have met a new friend. I absolutly recommend this place! Sue thanks a lot for your hospitality and I hope we see us again... maybe in Munich :-)

  • Sue was an amazing host! I had a great time staying in her cozy studio, which is very centrally located and you can walk everywhere, plus the subway is very close. She was friendly and helpful, giving me all the informations to visit NY in the best way! She also gave me the chance to spend time with her (and I had a great time!) and to do things on my own, as well. I would definitely stay there again!

    Angela2016-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • I'm very familiar with NYC but came to the city for a quick excursion and wanted to stay in a place that was convenient, centrally located and affordable - Sue's place was perfect! Not only was I close to major sites, but I was in the middle of the city so it's super easy to travel uptown or downtown by foot, bus, subway or taxi. The place itself was very clean and cute, and while small, it was definitely shareable. Sue was such a gracious host - she even took the time to show me a great local bar! Sue always made sure I felt welcomed and was super caring and energetic. I left feeling like I made a great new friend. For these reasons and more, I highly recommend Sue's place!

  • Michael was a spectacular host. From great recommendations, a fantastic apartment in the heart of the city to his flexibility with check in and out, it was all outstanding. I️ will definitely be staying again.

    Meghann2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a great weekend in NY at Michael’s place. The apartment is located in a premium spot in NY, in a very safe part of Chelsea, near to all the best places. The place is very clean and well decorated. Michael is a perfect host, taking care of everything and communicating very well so that the whole Check-In and check out processes were very easy for us! Would definitely recommend to anyone willing to spend some time in New York

  • My boyfriend had a great time!

    Iesha2018-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was a terrific host, his place was immaculate, exactly as described, and in a superb location...1/2 block from the High Line and galleries. Easy access to transportation, great eats, and NYC at its best!

    Lynne2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, close to everything you'd want to see.

    Susan2016-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was an amaaaazing host! Super communicative and offered as much help and recommendations as he could. For my first time traveling alone, Michael really made sure I was comfortable and safe. The apartment is located in a safe neighborhood in West Chelsea, with plenty of food and coffee options around. There's ample lighting around the neighborhood and a diner right next door to the apartment, so you get plenty of interactions :) Loved the lighting and view of this apartment. The apartment is on the 4th floor, and the stairs are a little steep, so if you're not great with stairs I would be a bit weary. But If you're looking for a home-y place to get a more "local" experience in New York, I would definitely recommend Michael's place! The bed was also incredibly comfortable!!

    Melisa2018-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michael’s place is in such a great location. Chelsea is a very cute and a very safe neighborhood. We felt very comfortable here. The apartment was exactly what we needed (3 girls) and was a few blocks from the subway (about 10-15 minute walk depending on which line you need to take). He was very patient with us getting back to him on when we would be arriving and had the best key pick up situation. Basically, it’s like a tiny locker system for keys at a near by corner market (2 min walk from the apartment). We did this only because we got into the city later than expected. The apartment was spotless, updated, and felt like home. My friends and I had a blast and will definitely look up Michael’s place next time we are in the city!

    Amber2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Speaking as a former NYC resident, Michael is like the favorite cousin you wish you still had living in the city (so you could crash at his place). Michael's apartment was super clean and modern, cool on a very hot, humid week and had the unique combination of being located in a neighborhood that puts many of the best part of downtown living within easy walking distance while also somehow being peaceful and quiet enough to sleep at night. It is a fourth floor walkup, but our host was quick to offer to carry our bags up and down the flights for us and still have enough grace to offer us cold water the moment we reached the top. And Michael is a super welcoming host, again, the quintessential combo of friendly/proactive and ready to answer any questions yet respectful of your privacy as a guest. I travel between the coasts frequently and would definitely stay at Michael's again.

Charming modern studio close to High Line, Chelsea Pier Park, Art Galleries. You’ll love the place because of its proximity to train station, restaurants/bars in Chelsea, and beautiful street block. The place is good for solo business traveler/adventurer/nomad/someone who wants to be in the nicest part of Chelsea. It's a small compact minimalistic studio with lots of light day time, that has everything you would need and doesn't have anything you won't need
Small Compact Modern Studio. It's approx. 400 sq ft but has everything nicely fit in. Sparkling clean. Exposed brick wall. Classic Manhattan style building. Beautiful street block. Great neighborhood.

  • I loved my stay at Gina's. She is a wonder host, extremely prompt in her communication, checking in to see that things are okay. The City had a big winter while I visited and Gina made sure that the cold was controlled in the apartment. She also sent me a detailed message with all kinds of recommendations for the area, including a real New York bagel shop I was keen on checking out. I love walking Manhattan, so I walked up and down from Gina's apartment, but the metro connection is excellent also. The apartment is a compact, cute little treasure, and I really enjoyed it. Thank you, Gina, for the attentive, warm hospitality!

    Szidonia2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Gina is terrific. Rented it for my 21 year old daughter doing an internship in NYC

    Michael2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gina's place is really awesome. Good location, quiet, conveniently. I always took bus to everywhere, only 2-5 mins walk to different bus stops, and 8 mins walk to subway station. Many restaurants there, including a famous Japanese cake - HARBS, just in the next corner. I really like to stay there, there will be my ideal NYC living place.

    Rebecca2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gina's place is really stylish and cute. It's in a frankly perfect location in Manhattan (an easy walk into Midtown, and really close to the High line and Chelsea market). Gina is very thoughtful and communicates extremely quickly - it was a real pleasure to stay in her lovely apartment. Thank you so much for being such a considerate host!

  • Great location in Chelsea! Cozy space with everything you need.

    Cary2018-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint flat in a great and very calm neighborhood. It is indeed very small but perfect for one person as the space is very optimized! It even includes an iron and a washing machine. Overall it feels very cosy and works perfectly as a pied-à-terre after long days exploring New York. Subways are very close, another plus. I usually like airbnbs notably for the opportunity to meet with the renter/ sub-renter which was not the case here, but Gina had set up a convenient pick-up location for me to get the keys by myself upon arrival. At a broader level, my stay in New York was fantastic and I felt well in this flat

    Alex2017-07-22T00:00:00Z

  • David was extremely easy to communicate with and everything was as described. I stayed two weeks while on a work trip and it was the perfect place to return to after a long day of work. Very comfortable and very relaxing. Also, super grateful for the washer/dryer.

  • David was responsive and gave clear instructions for access to the apartment. The place was simple and provided the necessities. Great location for sure. Bit of a walk up being on the fourth floor. Overall a good experience.

For those who want to rent bikes, it does have a bike rental point in the corner of the block just few meters from the apartment and the high line park and chelsea market are minutes away walking from the apartment. I don't have any complains about the apartment and about the location, both were very good. trendy, comfy queen room with lots of sunshine, modern deco and soft carpet. It's right on 9th ave and 36th street where all the fun in the new hudson yard begins. Just a few blocks from Jacob Javits Center, A, C and E trains, and LIRR on Pen Station. 5 minute walk to Madison Square Garden and High Line. The neighborhood is also one of the best New York City has to offer. Breakfast is provided with all other amenities. Please check the house rule page for taxes and other fees.
  • The location is great , be sure to read house rules that mention resort fee and city taxes that won't show up when you pay Airbnb . I usually would expect airbnb stays to be cheaper than hotels or atleast more hospitable. Asking guests to pay 20 bucks more to checking 30 mins before wasn't very accommodating. Overall I would pick a hotel next time even if it's few bucks more.

    Pranshu2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean nice and easy. There was a fee that I was unaware of which was stated in the check in instructions but not emphasized enough for me to know without looking for it so make sure to read the check in

  • From a New Yorker, July 17. 2019 Gabriel's place is a room in a hotel on the West side approx. 36th St and 10 Ave. What you see in the photo is what you get. Hotel is small, with free NY bagels and muffins for breakfast. The room is clean and the bed comfortable, AC works great and location is perfect if you want to be on the West Side. There are some homeless people at night in the vicinity but that is normal for NY. Bathroom wall paper has some spots that need repair. Overall I would recommend staying here it is worth the price.

    Rene2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is okay. I was in town for business and just needed a place with the necessities (bed, shower, WiFi, breakfast). Pros: location was convenient, staff was friendly. Room was quiet enough. Cons: Card key was broke and staff had to take me to my room every time I left the room as they only had the key. It was slightly annoying and time-consuming especially when I needed to get back to room to get something I forgot after just leaving. My floor had a strong marijuana smell which I reported a couple times. Breakfast is basically coffee, croissants, bagels, muffins. I guess I expected at least some bananas or apples but it was just the previous. Due to the above then I felt overpriced as I could have just stayed a couple block down the street for the same and it would have been a name brand hotel. I chose simple due to location to convention center for the night I stayed and rest of the nights have been better in the other location. Depending on your needs just be aware of what you are reserving.

The hotel room itself is small but super stylish, sparkling clean and provides everything that you need. They even provide breakfast in the morning for 4 hours between 6:30-10:30am! Unique space in brownstone/townhouse on best, tree-lined Chelsea street. It's the absolute heart of Chelsea's historic district. If location is important, then this is where you want to be. Large, quiet room (20’ X 15’) in 2nd floor apartment. Original details, antique furnishings, artwork, wood plank floors, marble fireplace, linens/towels/soap provided. The room also has a sofa and a large antique table with three chairs for both dining and as a work area, Very sunny. Shared bath and kitchen.
The room is very large (20'x15'), high ceilings, and decorated with original art and antiques. There is a marble fireplace and room has many of its original architectural details. The feel of the room matches both the street and the brownstone building which is old, classic New York City. The room has a full-size bed (linens, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner provided), an antique dining/work table with three chairs, a sofa, antique dresser, two closets, and oriental rug. It has three large windows (window boxes with flowers) which look out on quiet, West 22nd Street, making the room very sunny, friendly, and charming.
The block we live on is considered the best block in Chelsea. The neighborhood is collectively the most charming, hip, artistic, fashionable, beautiful, eclectic neighborhood in New York. It's a major destination for anyone visiting and is easily accessible to all the other great downtown sites. We are just blocks from The Highline Park, The Chelsea Art District, The Meatpacking District, The Chelsea Market, Chelsea Piers, The Whitney Museum, The Hudson River, Greenwich Village, Hudson Yards and The Flatiron District. For business travelers, just blocks away are the headquarters/offices of all the ad/tech/media/film/TV/fashion/art/music/photography businesses within Chelsea, Flatiron, Meatpacking, Hudson Yards, the West Village and the Penn Station neighborhoods.
  • Even prettier than pics, gorgeous architectural details. Gracious hosts. Space in pics includes apt entrance, but privacy was not actually issue during brief stay. Consider bringing short sleeves bc central heat. Thank you!

  • I can not say enough complimentary things about George and Lynnda. Being an AirBNB traveler and host myself I've had my fair share of "interesting" experiences - but I think I can honestly say that this was my best experience yet. - The room is beautiful, clean and just as pictured. Extremely spacious and loved that it has its own sitting area. For 2 people it is very large and comfortable. - Can't beat this location. Very close to a metro stop and a bus stop. - The hospitality was that of a 5 star hotel but the comfortability of your best friend's house. I traveled with my boyfriend this time but I would extremely safe and comfortable going back traveling by myself. - They were very private and respectable of our privacy as well, but you can't help but want to sit with them and chat any time you cross paths. - There were never any issues with a shared bathroom, it was sparkling clean and they even gave us a drawer to put out things in if we wanted. - The fridge was full of delicious fruit and other foods, and they were very encouraging of us to help ourselves to anything we'd like. Loved being able to make some fresh coffee and tea every morning. - All recommendations for places around the area were spot on and top notch! Would highly recommend to any travelers!

    Nina2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • A very pleasant place in Chelsea, just like it is described in the announce. George and Lynnda were very welcoming and discreet, even if we were most of the time away, they stay in touch with us to see if everything was ok. A nice place to recommend

  • We had a wonderful stay at George and Lynda's place. It really is an authentic Chelsea apartment: beautiful old brownstone building in a fairly quiet tree lined street. The room is nicely decorated and big. Everything is very clean. Lynda and George are great hosts! We highly recommend this room!

    Stefanie2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • George's apartment is in a perfect location, not in the heart of traffic but strategically located for the most important attractions, it is in a nice district (near private gallery, High Line, Chelsea market, ....). Metro station in a few minutes. Big room, very nice, very clean ... all perfect. George and Lynnda are very kind and helpful. Great communication, it was my first time in NYC and George sent me perfect indications from airport to apartment. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks George

  • Very nice, clean, modern, and spacious studio in Chelsea.

    Jamal2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely one of our best Airbnb stays so far! Location is just perfect - it was the most convenient base to explore everything NYC has to offer. Ariel was also very flexible and accommodating. We will definitely love to stay in this apartment again on our next visit!

  • The location of this apartment is perfect. Subway on the corner, shops, Flatiron building and Madison Square Park just 5 minutes walk down the street. The area is clean and people are very friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved our stay here and the atmosphere both inside and outside the apartment was wonderful.

  • Stylish roomy studio, well equipped, convenient to transport. Responsive host. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends visiting nyc

  • The appartment was beautiful like the pictures. The decoration was lovely. Anne was super kind explaining how to pick up the keys, and answering our questions. There were coffee, clean towels, fast wifi, well equipped. The location is perfect, in the middle to go uptown or downtown, and a lot of subway’s line nearby.

    Sol2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ari’s place is perfect and just as it’s pictured. It’s in Chelsea which is an amazing and friendly neighborhood. The apartment is a 2 minute walk to the subway, within walking distance to lovely restaurants, bars and parks. As a solo traveler I found the apartment perfect for me with all amenities included. I would definitely stay here again!

  • This apartment was amazing- great location, safe neighbourhood and easy check in and check out. It’s decorated beautifully, really stylish, clean and lovely little touches like coffee and toiletries add that little extra special touch. Super close to two main subway lines made getting around easy. Would highly recommend staying here- perfect service- thank you :-)

Small but mighty, The West Chelsea MINI makes up for what it lacks in size with style, convenience and LOCATION. With its high ceiling and tree-lined view, this 4th floor, sunny studio in an elevator building is perfect for the business traveler (walk the highline to Javits Center in 15 minutes), the globetrotting tourist (walk the highline to the Whitney in 10 minutes) or the former New Yorker (like me!) just in for a visit (just walk the highline!!).
The Mini is a bright, sunny studio apartment simply and stylishly appointed with a queen-size bed and excellent pillows. There's plenty of room in the closet for you to unpack and basic supplies in the kitchen for you to whip up a simple meal. a few more details.... there is a bathtub and shower and the water is strong and hot, but please be patient, sometimes you need to let the water run a few minutes to get hot water. also there is WiFi but there is NOT a TV
West Chelsea is HOT! The Highline is a spectacular addition to the city. The neighborhood has wonderful art, shopping and food and i list my personal favorites on "my guide".
  • Karen’s mini is the perfect spot for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the heart of NYC. The place was adorable, clean and had great amenities. I look forward to staying again!

    Kelsey2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely stay at Karen’s apartment again. Everything went well. The apartment perfect for us and Karen’s responsiveness was much appreciated. My daughter left her ring behind and Karen overnighted it to us. Five stars!

    Julie2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Karen’s place was the perfect location for my birthday getaway. It was steps from the Highline and a block from great restaurants and bars. Although a true ‘mini’ apartment, it had everything we could’ve needed. We brought stuff to make cook our own breakfast in the cute kitchen area and Karen supplied coffee. Thank you for a great stay!!

    Christy2018-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is in a wonderful and very quiet (surprisingly) location! Steps away from the High Line, great coffee shops, and restaurants. Highly recommend and would stay again myself.

    Marina2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint studio apartment. Neat, centrally located, in safe neighborhood. Great for one or two adults and a great deal for New York standards. Karen the host, responds promptly to any questions and or concerns . My wife and I felt very comfortable and happy with the location. I would highly recommend this place for prospective guests.

    Obiloh2018-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Karen was wonderful and quick to reply! Highly recommend if you want to stay close to the High Line and around trendy bars and restaurants.

    Eliza2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great, convenient mini. Really enjoyed all the great spots walking distance to this spot!

    Melanie2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great 4-night stay for work! The apartment is the perfect size for a solo traveler or a couple not looking to spend much time at home, and the location is great. A bit of a walk to the subway but everything else is right around the corner! The place is spectacularly maintained and incredibly clean; and communication with Karen was a breeze. Would absolutely recommend if you’re looking for a spot in Chelsea!

Private 350 Sq foot room with working fireplace and private bathroom in a privately owned single family townhouse in Chelsea. Despite recent NY restrictions we are a 100% legal listing! You'll be living with an on-site family of artists, so everything is a little rough around the edges, but if you are looking for a real cultural experience in a beautiful home this will be a good fit. We have a cat, so those with allergies should stay away :-)
Large furnished private bedroom available in NYC! Located in a beautiful brownstone in Chelsea on one of the most sought after tree lined blocks in Manhattan. You will be sharing a kitchen and dining room with me and my family. There is a beautiful tiled bathroom with shower dedicated to your use. DISCLAIMER: If you are looking for a traditional B&B or a cheaper version of a hotel room, this may not be right for you. It is an old building with old fixtures and furniture, some of it a bit dog-eared. We are an Arts institute which hosts visiting artists in our family home, and sublets the extra bedrooms when visiting artists are not in residence. The townhouse also has a studio for classes screenings and readings, and a film production office. This historic artistic residence has hosted such luminaries as Tennessee Williams, Miles Davis and Allen Ginsberg. Steps away from all galleries, the Chelsea Piers and spectacular boutique restaurants. Blocks away from the Soho House, Chelsea Market and the chic Meat Packing District. Steps to the High Line! 1 1/2 blocks from the C/E Subway line. Hardwood floors, working marble fireplace. Shared kitchen with stove and fridge. Private bathroom with shower. High speed Internet, Fresh cotton towels, Weekly maid service and Utilities all included. Presence is an arts institute featuring classes in acting for stage and film and presents readings by established and emerging playwrights and poets. Support the arts while spending a wonderful New Years Vacation in NYC!
  • Presence was a great place for us to stay as first time visitors to New York. The room itself was large with loads of natural light. The queen size bed was comfortable and large enough for two. The mosaic tiled private bathroom housed what could be described as a "shower pit", equipped with an enormous shower head - a great way to unwind after a long day in Manhattan. The location served our touristy needs well - two blocks from the 23rd St. C and E trains and walking distance to Greenwich Village, the Highline, Chelsea Market, and plenty of great restaurants and bars. Tony and his wife Lee Ann were very accommodating and helpful, and their suggestions for restaurants and Broadway shows were spot on. All in all, Presence was good value, basic accommodation, in a good location.

    Constantin2012-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Tony was like staying at the Chelsea Hotel: interesting people, artistic history, and a touch of bohemia. Tony accommodated our needs and worked to make our stay enjoyable.

    Dixie2013-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Lee Ann have a wonderful home and were lovely hosts. They were very helpful, always concerned that I was comfortable. The room is spacious and pretty, with lots of natural light facing the back garden, and very private. Bed is very comfortable. I did appreciate the private bathroom, which is newly remodeled. The house has a community feel to it, so people were always around to talk with, yet privacy was easily accommodated by slipping away into the room. Kitchen facilities are shared, and that works just fine. Lots of stores and restaurants in the neighborhood and close to major subway lines. Tony and Lee Ann made me feel right at home. Also, I was invited to see the play Tony had directed, which I really enjoyed. This place is a real score!

    Cynthia2015-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in a traditional brown-stone house. Our stay lived up to our expectations. We wanted to have an experience as close as to real New York as we could. In other words not in a plastic hotel 20 floors up. Tony and Lee Ann were excellent hosts - enthusiastic, busy, friendly, considerate New Yorkers. The room is on the first floor, large, has some cooking facilities, a good bathroom, and a comfortable bed. The decor is traditional and not pristine, but no worries. We loved be being woken by a hen clucking in the garden!. The locality is calm, full of trees, and comprises lots of other brown-stones. . Julian and Josephine Chisholm, UK

    Julian2013-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tony has a wonderful home full of history and character. The room is huge with a little sitting area to chill in. It is an old building so comes with those charms but if you love all things vintage and artistic then you'll love this place. Tony and his family were very sweet and friendly. Great location not too far from a subway and stacks of cute diners and cafes nearby.

    Alice2013-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • i have only positive things to say about Tony and Lee Ann's space. Tony an actor and Lee Ann a poet they fill the place with extraordinary energy. if you want to be quiet you have your spacious room with a garden view and where the only sound is the one of birds singing. But if you are looking for some excitment you might find a poetry reading on the floor downstairs which is be worth a trip. Quintessential New York at its best!

    Alessandra2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is very basic accommodation. And when I say basic I mean really basic. I would rate facilities as below hostel standard. The entire place needs complete renovation. Wifi works well, no tv though, problems with heating. If you want a place with creaking floorboards and noisy mattress, this is it. Shower quite bizarre - more like climbing into a home-built raised bathtub. I as not convinced the photograph of the kitchen was an entirely honest representation of the bedroom. However, negatives aside, the location was totally perfect. Two blocks from a major subway line on a beautiful tree lined street. It served its purpose as a really convenient place to sleep, but nothing more.

    Shawn2012-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was very concerned with our safe arrival and kept in touch via text to make sure we got in okay. The place was just as described in the photos. There was a mixup with our lodgings and we had to defer to another day but Tony was very flexible and offered us lodgings at any later date that he had open.

trendy, comfy queen room with lots of sunshine, modern deco and soft carpet.
  • We were visiting NYC for the weekend and needed a place to crash that was centrally located. This room was perfect for our needs. It was located inside a nice hotel, and checking in at the front desk was a breeze. The bed was large and very comfortable. And it doesn’t say this in the description, but the room has a patio. We came in the winter, but I imagine it would be nice to sit out on the patio in the spring/summer.

    Maxine2018-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • This room is located in a hotel about a block from the Javits Convention Center. Be advised the rooms are quite small, and that the neighborhood is not the greatest. Also, I was surprised to find a tax to be paid on checking in that I was unaware of, even though I prepaid for the whole room in advance. You need to read the host rules to see that there is a separate hotel tax to be paid. Also, the host let people into my room without letting me know ahead of time to repair a leaking toilet. While it's fine now, I was rather frustrated to be shown into the room and have the toilet leaking and no offer of another same available room.

    Beau2019-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • good value in hudson yards area, the room i had on the 9th floor was very quiet, clean and the bed as comfortable.

    Vinay2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • This hotel is a really great location, was very clean, and definitely worth the price. The only slight problems were added fees at check-in, the quality of the hotel wasn’t the best, and the room was very small.

At 180 sq ft, "the shoebox" is aptly named, but as they say in real estate "location. location. location." Close to the highline, the whitney, the javits center, restaurants and west chelsea galleries, entertainment and business is at our door. Subways and buses are also nearby. The bed is comfy, the shower is hot (there is NOT a bathtub), there is an elevator (i'm on the 4th floor), vibe is cozy, and yes the ceiling is high. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers alike.
a few more details.... there is no bathtub but the shower is strong and hot. please note you may need to let the water run a few minutes to get hot water. there is WiFi but there is NOT a TV
IMO there is no better neighborhood in Manhattan. entrance to the Highline is on our corner. the best galleries in NYC are all within a few blocks. the new Whitney Museum in a 10 minute walk as are subways, buses and Penn Station. Restaurants, cool shopping, the Chelsea Market... oh I could go on and on!
  • I love tiny homes and Karen's place is maybe the nicest I've ever found through airbnb, perfectly formed with nice pictures and furniture in a quiet, classy neighbourhood full of great restaurants, a half hour walk from Midtown. It's places like this that make paying half as much again for a hotel room half as nice something I will never again do as long as I live. Long live airbnb, and long live Karen's shoebox.

    Sam2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable place in a great location ! Tiny but mighty - an excellent value! My host was nice to work with and checked in to make sure all went smoothly --which i appreciated.. Highly recommended!

    Tracy2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's "Shoebox" apartment exceeded my expectations. It was very clean, in a great neighborhood that is quiet but still ideally located, and even though the space is small it is so well laid out and organized, with high ceilings, that you feel quite comfortable. I have special dietary requirements so need to cook most of my meals, and the little kitchenette had everything I needed, it was fun to cook there. When I checked out in a hurry, I left behind some items accidentally, and Karen got them overnighted to me with no hassle, it was really such a good experience from start to finish.

    Marc2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Always a great stay at Karen’s! Every visit offers a consistently cute, clean and convenient experience. Visiting for work, the suuuuper comfortable bed helps me to get in a great night’s sleep, too!

  • Awesome place!! Great location next to the Highline

    Anthony2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Unit is small as others mentioned but hey that's NYC and it has all that you need. Great location. Very walkable. High line entrance is 3 blks away. Karen was highly responsive to our needs and questions. Would stay again.

    Kristin2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Yeah, it's a little small, but don't let that fool you. Great location steps from the High Line, Whitney and lots of great galleries and restaurants. I stayed by myself for a little over a week, and it was just perfect! 100% endorsement here.

    C. Eric2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Karen's place is perfect - a quiet street with main streets just a block away on either side. Wonderful coffee shops and restaurants nearby with easy access to the rest of the city. Karen was flexible with check-in after my red-eye flight and checking out is super simple. My next trip to the city - I will definitely plan to stay here again!
