  • The place is very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were really soft. They had extra towels and wash cloths. They also had an iron if needed. Host gives you quick responses to questions. I would highly recommended this place. The only down fall was, it was a little hard to find but the host gave great directions.

  • Bert & Nancy were some of the most gracious hosts ever! They made us feel right at home immediately with fresh baked cookies, and they personally gave us a tour of the cottage upon arrival. They were very prompt, honest and extremely friendly. The cottage itself was so cozy and sweet! I'm already looking forward to the next stay!

  • Great hosts!

    Amanda2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage offered a beautiful place to relax and unwind in such a peaceful setting. Our favorite place was the covered front porch where we rocked in the rocking chairs as the rain hit the roof and just took in all the beautiful sights that surrounded us. The property is very well landscaped and maintained! The wonderful aroma consumed me as we entered the cottage and everything was extremely clean and inviting. Due to weather, we were unable to enjoy the pool, but the pool and back deck were so inviting and would be a great space for entertaining! This cottage would be perfect for a fall weekend getaway as the leaves are starting to turn and there are 2 fire pits on the property to keep you nice and toasty! The hosts were kind and inviting and very easy to communicate with. You won't regret staying here! We cannot wait to come back!!!

This family and pet friendly property includes Nature Trails, amazing fishing and wildlife, epic swimming holes and so much more! The Illinois river, in Tahlequah, offers year round respite and fun for people of all walks of life. Our cabin is simple, yet very comfortable. It will be difficult to find another location, with the amount of private river access we provide. You can sit on the front porch, with a drink of choice, while enjoying quiet and private river views and listen to the sounds of nature. Get lost in the woods, take trail walk, find the river cane forest and/or the wet weather waterfalls or just relax with a good book. The property features an Outdoor Shower, with hot water, to wash off after a day at the river.
We are located on the sleepy side of the Illinois River. It's secluded and quiet, with little to no traffic. We are right across the street from the Nickel Preserve, a 15,000 acre Nature and Wildlife Preservation area. 15 minute drive to kayaking, canoes and rafts and water-slides. 1 mile walk or drive to the famous "Bathtubs", Goats Bluff and Pebble Beach some of the most gorgeous spots on the river. • Wonderfully secluded & very rustic. Just the way a cabin should be. Greatly surprised at how well stocked the cabin was. Has everything from bug spray to extra bedding. (Washer & dryer included 😳) river access is amazing & perfect location. You will not be disappointed. The house says it sleeps 10 & we had no issues of space or bedding. We even managed with out issues on having one bathroom. We can’t wait to schedule another weekend away!!!

    Jason2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place definitely doesn’t disappoint! Such a great weekend especially because we had Michaels great cabin to crash in. We were able to enjoy a movie and the great fire pit one night. Plenty of dishes and kitchen items that we needed when using the handy propane grill. One tip future guests: definitely follow michaels step-by-step directions to the cabin. Let’s just say we found out why the hard way :) planning the next trip already

  • it is an excellent and very comfortable house

    Martha2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful property is a five minute stroll to the Illinois River. This rustic cabin is clean and neat, has a lot of towels and a completely stocked kitchen. We made two meals and had every pan and utensil needed. There are a lot of lake toys like noodles and floaties, a couple of life jackets, fishing poles, and two outdoor games. A little over a mile down the road is a beautiful stone outcropping with waterfalls and deep pools. We had a blast, we will return.

    Mary2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is in an excellent location along the river on a beautiful piece of property. Michael was a great host who was super easy to work with. He thought of many extra touches to include which make you feel more at home. Check in and check out was an easy process. On our drive home, we were already talking about "next time".

    Aimee2018-06-06T00:00:00Z

Our cabin is located on the lower part of the Illinois River in a country setting. The cabin has one king bed with luxury linens and pillows. The bathroom has a shower in a tub and soft white towels with a sink. You’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the comfy beds. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
The Guest Ranch is a old church camp from the early 1900's along the Illinois River. After remodel of the cabins, lodge and pavilion we are now ready to host weddings, family reunions, special events or private parties. • Very nice location, not far at all from town but secluded. River is short walking distance from cabins. This would be a very nice location for groups (I believe it is an older church camp converted into cabins). Cabins are rustic but comfortable and clean. Satellite TV. Short gravel road to cabins which were fine even in heavy rain periods (we were on motorcycles and had no problems). Good communications with owner.

Our Cabin is located on the lower part of the Illinois River in a country setting. The cabin has one full size bed and one daybed with luxury linens and pillows. The bathroom has a tub with shower and towels with a sink.
The Guest Ranch is a old church camp from the early 1900's along the Illinois River. After remodel of the cabins, lodge and pavilion we are now ready to host weddings, family reunions, special events or private parties. Easy walking distance to the river with fishing and taking in the serenity that mother nature has around you. This set up is exactly what you want if you need to get away and relax from all the hustle of everyday life. Don't be surprised to see a black bear, turkey, white tail deer, raccoon, skunk, possum or a rare sighting of a mountain lion.

We are excited to offer a place that is in such a historic part of Tahlequah to make your stay in our town memorable . Hear the tower bells chime on the hour from the first and second story balconies or just relax inside our hidden oasis , surrounded by trees in the heart of downtown .

We are right around the corner from many of the most popular specialty restaurants in town ! Sam and Ella’s pizza palace , The Drip coffee shop , and The Branch being a few of our favorites ...
  • I would recommend this house to anyone! It’s beautiful! Beds are comfortable! And the environment is quiet

Location + privacy + solitude + plus shockingly good wifi for a rural area. Float the river, fish Lake Tenkiller, enjoy Tahlequah and everything that the Cherokee Nation capital city has to offer. A quiet retreat, well-outfitted and family friendly. Enjoy the front porch + second story covered balcony, fireplace & large attached garage. Nice view of the Illinois River Valley and Nickel Family Preserve, a 15,000 acre wildlife conservation area. Washer/Dryer + basic supplies. 65 inch SmartTV.
A rare find near the Illinois River. Fully furnished nice home to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the country (but still have high speed wifi and a 65 inch SmartTV. This is one of very few private homes available as a vacation rental along Scenic Highway 10. Close to many float outfitters to rent a raft/canoe/kayak but away from the craziness of the resorts. Also great for short-term furnished business housing. The exterior of the home is newly refinished log siding with a grey natural stone base. The owner lives up the hill on the adjacent property but will fully respect your privacy. The owner will be proactive about notifying you if early check-in times is available.
Scenic Highway 10 and the Illinois River: it’s a lifestyle as much as it is a destination. Go slow. Chill out. Enjoy the great outdoors and the quiet of nature. Read a book. Talk to people. Learn their story. Grill some chicken. Drink an iced tea or a cold beer. This is not a resort or a campground. There are nearby houses occupied by families and we ask that you be a good low energy and respectful neighbor too. The closet float outfitters are Peyton’s Place (1 mile) and War Eagle Resort (2 miles). Other float outfitters bewteen 2-7 miles: Diamond Head, Eagle Bluff, Arrowhead, Hanging Rock Camp, Falcon Floats, Sparrowhawk Camp, All American Floats and Riverside Resort.
  • 10/10 will stay here again. The best/most relaxing AirBNB we’ve ever stayed in. My favorite. The tub, the scenery, the house is great.

My place is close to The Illinois River. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and big groups.
This is one of my favorite cabins! The big open space with vaulted ceilings and a big rock fireplace all in the same room. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, mugs, cups, silverware. It has a large refrigerator, little stove, wood butcher block and coffee pot with coffee filters. The bathroom has a standup shower with a small sink. The TV is hooked up to a DVD player so bring a favorite movie to watch. We are located on the southern leg of the Illinois river in Tahlequah. We are out in the countryside where it's nice and quiet so you can hear the wind blow through the trees and the birds sing.
  • I wasn’t sure what to expect when I rented this cabin to take my 11-year-old daughter and her 4 other friends for a summer getaway. It turned out to be the absolute best place to get away from the noisy city and unplug. We were close to all the float places, we were close to trails for hiking and we loved just hanging at the cabin! It’s the cutest place ever!! There were nice, plush towels for us in the bathroom as well as basic sundries such as soap, shampoo and toothpaste! There was a nice big fridge so get your groceries at Reasor’s close by and never have to eat out unless you just want to. We watched movies at night. It’s not a blue ray but we brought plenty of movies. The girls had a blast doing makeup makeovers at the dining room table and just doing their thing. We floated one day. It was easy to get to any of the floating places. We could walk down to the river from the cabin as well. We had some trouble with flies but you’re in the woods so that’s to be expected. Hiking trails were everywhere. Just google them. We explored quite a bit on foot so it was so much fun for the girls to just be able to be outdoors and explore nature. Take shoes off at the door of the cabin and it’ll keep it basically spotless. Bring beach towels. Holly pretty much thought of everything else!!

    Anna2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to disconnect from everyday life and enjoy the company of good friends.

    Lisa2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved loved loved this cabin! It is a little bit of a trek if you're floating at one of the rafting places but so worth it for the comfy beds, awesome disco ball and other luxuries that you simply won't get at the other floating places. Cell phone reception is spotty and there's no wifi but it is perfect for a getaway. Holly was so attentive and prepped us so well. Can't recommend enough!

    Amanda2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin with a really cool interior man cave hunting cabin kind of feel in a nice little spot. We came to tahlequa to float the river and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. Not crowded and away from and the people and other river resorts. There is a trail that leads down to river that was a really cool and nice spot to swim and lounge. The amenities that where included were very nice in quality and plenty for are stay. Holly meet us there the first day to make sure everything met are expectation. Was a very nice stay.

    Taylor2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were disappointed with our stay and though it seems like it’s a nice place, we were completely unprepared for what we got. The amenities listed for this cabin originally said that it had DIRECTV, we had planned an outdoor fun and football weekend getaway and were really shocked to find out that it did not actually have any DIRECTV channels just a DVD player. When we contacted the host about this she said sorry and that she would take that out of the listing. Which, of course, did us absolutely no good. The other thing the listing does not mention - until after you book it - is that if you have AT&T for your cel service - you will have absolutely no reception. So we did not even have the option of using our phones to stream the games. Also, there are about 7 cabins and the cabins are really close together, you will have neighbors that may be closer than you imagine for your getaway. And just a heads up - the river is nowhere near your cabin - it’s quite a walking distance to go see it. Back to our adventure, we had planned to spend a nice day grilling, sitting by the river, watching football and hanging out - but instead, because we had no TV channels and no cell phone signal, we had to go in town to a bar to watch the games :( That evening after the games, we went back to our cabin hoping to sit on the deck, have a nice fire, and grill some dinner and salvage our day. When we pulled around to our cabin, the people in the cabin next to us had completely overtaken the front of our cabin and theirs. We had to park back by the pavilion and walk in because they had completely blocked the front of our cabin. They had pulled all of our chairs and our grill off our deck and were using them for their very large group. We had no means of communication to contact the host (because our phones had no signal) and we were not comfortable confronting this large group of people by ourselves, so we just gave up and went inside. We cooked our hotdogs on the stove, put in the one dvd that was in the cabin and went to bed. I feel like much of this could’ve been avoided if the information provided about the cabin had been forthcoming in the beginning. Not having DIRECTV and not having a cell phone signal definitely should have been disclosed prior to booking and there definitely should be some way to contact the host when bad things happen - like disruptive neighbors who take all your stuff. I did contact the host after we left (and got our cel signal back) and all she said was sorry.

    Kathy2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Holly’s Cabin was super cute! Holly answered all of our questions before I booked and helped us out during our stay. We didn’t have salt and pepper and she had it brought to us! She was a fantastic host and we will definitely be back!

    Bethany2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is the 2nd time my group has stayed at Cabin #5 when floating the river and I can't recommend enough. The cabin is just so adorable with fun additions all around. Holly is so great at giving tips and details. We also had dinner at The Branch, Holly's restaurant, and it was wonderful. The staff was so nice and ambiance was just what we were looking for. Can't recommend enough. We will be staying here every time we come to float.

    Amanda2019-06-23T00:00:00Z

The loft is a cozy, private, 1 bedroom suite with great views of Norris Park and right in the heart of downtown Tahlequah. The common space includes a sectional couch, dinning table, electric fireplace,Wi-Fi, and a 32 inch TV (with DirecTV included). A newly added kitchenette to accommodate cooking needs. The bunk beds are located off the entryway. Master bedroom has a large walk in closet, whirlpool bathtub, and large separate shower! It's the coziest room in Tahlequah! We welcome guests from all different backgrounds!
  • Perfect location in downtown Tahlequah! Safe, clean, and comfortable place to stay. Highly recommend!

  • Super, super cute clean place, very comfortable and we loved being right there in town. Wonderful coffee shop across the street, great little bar downstairs, city park right across the road - you can walk just about anywhere to get anything you need. You do you have to climb a flight of steps and there is some street noise, so if those kinds of things bother you, then this might not be the place for you - but we absolutely loved, loved, loved it! We live way out in the country at home so being able to have all those wonderful places right down the stairs was fabulous! Thank you again for a wonderful visit!

    Kathy2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft was absolutely perfect for us! So cute and comfortable. It had everything we needed. We loved being right next door to great restaurants and coffee shops.

  • WOW! This lovely loft is such a gem. It was perfectly located to everything we needed. The decor is charming and very comfy; lots of room and honestly just a perfect homey place to come back to after a long day. Peggy is wonderful, and quick to respond. Really cannot say enough.... we will definitely being staying with her again.

  • This adorable loft in between Sam and Ella's and The Grill is simply the best spot in Tahlequah! We had a great time enjoying the convenient location in the middle of all the action! Everything connected to the loft closes by 10pm, so noise was not an issue for getting a good night's rest. The whirlpool tub was awesome! Overall great stay and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get the full Tahlequah experience.

    Teresa2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for Cherokee Nation or Northeastern events. Right downtown near best restaurants in Tahlequah. Very responsive host. But keep in mind: there’s a steep 22-step stairway up to the space. Also, although there is a microwave, mini-refrigerator and coffee maker, the only water in the space is in the bathroom. The bathroom is great. Big shower and big jacuzzi. Parking is adequate on the street. I had no trouble parking. There’s a restaurant deck near the window, but I never heard anything louder than conversation. They don’t play loud music and they close by 10:00. It’s a wonderful place to stay—just don’t plan on cooking.

    Robb2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at this stylish and comfy apartment! It was perfect for our needs, and Wendy was prompt in her responses. We will definitely be staying here again!! The Drip was right across the street and has wonderful food that fit our restricted diet. Thanks again!

Beautiful Rustic River Cabin, newly remodeled with guest entertainment and relaxation in mind! Wake up and have breakfast with views of the River and Wildlife, go explore the 10 acres and reconnect with nature, then grab the whole crew and head down to your own private river access. Whether you like to fish, swim or lounge in the water, the property features relaxation for all people. End your day grilling, playing some horseshoes or relaxing around the outdoor fire pit. It's a Perfect Day!
The Main cabin was built in the 1920's per the courthouse, however is rumored to be much older. It was added on in the 1980's with 4 bedrooms and another bath. And as of mid 2018 has been remodeled with modern amenities but still maintains that old rustic cabin feel. THE BEAUTIFUL ILLINOIS RIVER Over 1,000 feet of riverbank on the Cabin side of river which includes from 10 ft cliffs to a small gravel bar, but also a few hundred feet of rivers edge across river which is a massive gravel bar. This property features the best that the river has to offer. The water in this particular location can be heard cascading over the rocks, as this property encompasses depths as low as 3". If laying in the river isn't your thing, how about swimming? The water also maintains 4.5' deep even when water level is low. Fishing is also Wonderful at the cabin. From Catfish to Bass to Buffalo Carp just to name a few. All of this is within a 100 yards so no need to hike to find what is right for you. There are also a handful of float resorts nearby that you can visit if you would like to float down the river in a kayak, canoe or raft. There is only a couple float places that will float by the cabin however the main traffic of floaters is north of this location.
Being on the Illinois River there is potential on a nice day of floaters, kayaks, and fishermen passing by the cabin. The cabin is on the lower part of the Illinois River, so the main crowd of floaters will not pass by cabin as they mainly float the middle to northern section of the River. The River is patrolled by GRDA so an occasional boat may pass by. The Public does have an easement of 15 ft from waters edge for pulling over and resting. but noone is permitted to stay for extended periods of time.
  • What an amazing property and experience! Gavin was quick to respond and was supportive without being intrusive. The property was beyond our expectations. It was clean and well stocked. The privacy was great and the river beautiful. We made a lot of lifelong memories with our family and look forward to coming back to make some more.

    Andrea2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • WONDERFUL. The location is lovely, Gavin is a great host and the cabin is even nicer than the photos convey. There are tons of thoughtful touches, it is clean, spacious and is the perfect mix of rustic and modern. Everyone in our group wants to return.

    Sheryl2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a perfect getaway for friends & our kiddos. We loved fishing, playing horseshoes, & more! The house is beautiful & clean!

    Shana2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a great cabin and location! The cabin is a great mix of "vintage" and new, a little bit of both, and excellent in both. But what we loved the most was the ability to be outside and enjoy the great outdoors. Lots of land and nature to roam and explore. All 3 generations loved it!

    Bret2018-11-25T00:00:00Z

  • The river cabin is a perfect getaway while still being near to Tahlequah. Set in a clearing nestled close to the river, you can enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of deer coming out of the woods and the wind in the trees. The house is a gem, sleeps 10 comfortably, and is well appointed for cooking and enjoying an outdoor barbecue or marshmallow roast. The living area has two of the most comfortable recliner sofas, so there’s plenty of places to relax, both indoors and out as there is a covered porch and a fire pit area with ample seating. Our hosts left all the makings for s’mores and a basket of snacks, and exhibited thoughtful hospitality with stacks of fresh towels, a well appointed kitchen, board games and yard games and many other little touches for ensuring a very nice stay. We loved it and hope to return!

  • Great place to stay, can see a return trip in the future.

  • This house is in the perfect location if you’re wanting to float the Illinois River. About a 15 minute drive to most float companies, and the home itself was large enough that we didn’t feel cramped with 10 people. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals, and we roasted marshmallows in the fire pit outside. We loved watching all of the deer right outside the back door! Only possible downsides were that there was only one bathroom, although it was very clean. Also the bed in the loft is an air mattress and the people who slept there said it was not comfortable at all. Otherwise, we loved our stay in Tahlequah and may stay here again.

    Brooke2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • the space worked for a party of 4 and room for spare. it’s very close to all the floating shops and the drive up is beautiful. the home has a kitchen that was well suited for cooking. bring bug spray though bc the mosquitoes are terrible due to the shade of the forest. the rules of the house are posted everywhere and straight forward. we had a good experience and appreciate the hospitality.

    Ash2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place.

    Bryce2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is actually a duplex not a house, which we were not thrilled with. We were having a girls trip to get away and didn’t want to have to worry about possibly disturbing someone that close. Lots of spiders in the house. Dirty kitchen with food on the stove and in the silverware drawer. No sheets were on some of the beds just a bare mattress with a comforter on it. All the printed off notes pinned on all the walls telling you things you couldn’t do was a little much. Also they ask you to not flush your toilet paper, but to put it in the trash can......the screened in rooms, roof, leaked all over the place so we still could not enjoy ourselves out their while it rained. Mushrooms (the drug) were discovered in one of the kitchen drawers when trying to find the silverware. (Thank god it was a girls weekend and we did not have our kids, and they discovered it). They had no WiFi or reg tv. Being in the woods most of everybody could not use their phones. A tornado warning was issued for our location and we only knew bc a lady told us at the store. So could not watch the weather bc there was no reg tv. Being out of town and dealing with that is a little nerve racking. But on a better note the deer would come up super close to the house which was actually really cool! They definitely need to fix some things and advertise their listing a lot different!

  • This home is a must!! Everything about it was perfect. Very comfortable for a large family. Beds were very comfortable, many towels available, and the toilet paper was very soft (which most places I have stayed had cheap toilet paper and that's a huge NO for me). The views are breath taking, the walk down to the river is very steep, not everyone can do it. I honestly have no complaints about this house.

    Jodie2018-07-22T00:00:00Z

  • Wonderful location! I wish we would of taken advantage of the kayaks for rent. The public ramp to put them in the water is super close. Next time we will definitely rent them. The view from the back of the house is amazing. They really have everything you need supplied in the house. I would highly recommend staying here. Totally worth the money.

Our Cabin is located on the lower part of the Illinois River in a country setting. The cabin has two twin beds and one queen with luxury linens and pillows. The bathroom has a standup shower and soft white towels with a sink. Place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
This setup is exactly what you want if you need to get away and relax from all the hustle of everyday life. Don't be surprised to see a black bear, turkey, white tail deer, raccoon, skunk, possum or a rare sighting of a mountain lion.
  • We enjoyed staying at Holly's place. It was nice and quiet and the scenery was beautiful. The only thing I would suggest is to have cooking utensils to cook meals. Had to run to Wal-Mart to get a frying pan to cook breakfast. WE ended up leaving it for the next guest, so it's all good. Couldn't find a sponge either, but managed to clean up the best we could. Thanks Holly...we had a great time.

  • The place was exactly as described, Holly was in close communication leading up to our arrival, and we had a very pleasant stay. The cabin itself is nice, and appears to have been recently renovated. A short walk on a trail through the woods takes you to the river, and we had a lovely swim. The Guest Ranch is an interesting place, with a number of other cabins scattered around the property. There were few other guests while we were there, but I assume during the tourist season the place is probably pretty lively. All told, a very nice experience.

A little trouble with the ac, but she was honest about the remodeling so i knew we were coming into a work in progress. I would recommend grills and microwaves. Oh and possible wifi to account for the poor cell phone reception. Other than that great spot to vaca when with friends and family. Great host to work with!

The Purdy Cabin is a unique riverside accommodation, everyone's perfect gathering place. The 3 level deck overlooking the water is a relaxing place to enjoy watching a variety of birds and wildlife as you dine, sip coffee or read a good book. Don't forget the marshmallows for roasting at the fire pit. It is within easy access of float trip out fitters and great hiking/biking trails are nearby. Tahlequah with its unique boutiques, antique shops and dining opportunities is an easy 10 minute drive.
The original cabin was built as a simple one room dwelling with a screened in sleeping porch in 1964. Over the years rooms were added and spaces remodeled but it was always a vacation property until the mid 1980's when it was again altered and became a permanent home for the owners. In 2015 it was updated and a new three level deck installed. The current owner also converted a garage as well as other space to make an apartment to live in so the main house could be rented as an exclusive private guest house.
It is easy to get to the Cabin. Just about three miles from Tahlequah up Scenic Highway 10. Guests will turn on Ben George Road for a winding and hilly one mile, then the last half mile on 556 Road will be gravel as it cuts through a plant nursery. You know you have arrived when you see the Welcome to the Cabin sign. We are the house on the left with natural cedar siding. Parking is on the cement pad in front of the house. The river bank is the back yard.
  • The Purdy Cabin was everything we hoped it would be. Beautiful location with a back deck that is unbeatable. April is a wonderful host and provides anything and everything you might need for your trip. It truly is a "home away from home."

    Susan2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great and the river was right there would recommend to anyone

    Jayme2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • April, or Beth, not sure what her actual name is; is rude! Quit hours start at 11pm and she means it, you can’t be sitting and talking on the back porch you need to be inside and sleeping. The house isn’t separate, she can enter the living room through a door. She makes you sign a separate contract of her own before she leaves the house. She makes it very specific how many people are staying there, when our family from Tahlequah came over the visit on the back porch for a couple hours she threw a fit about how many people were there and referenced her contract. She claimed we were throwing a “party” when only 7 people in total were there for a few hours (5 staying the night). She also pulled the whole “the neighbors are complaining” when the only neighbor is her brother. The whole family watches you like hawks! For the price you pay for this home you shouldn’t have a babysitter standing over you. There was rat or mouse poop throughout the house (have photos). The kitchen is ant infested. When we left she had a smart remark of “I was hoping you would read the manual and you’d know how to leave” when I just told her bye so she’d know we were leaving a few hours early? Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend.

    Aldyn2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, plenty of privacy, the host is wonderful and made our group (Bachelorette Party) cookies. Would definitely recommend for a get away!

  • This was a great cabin for a weekend girls trip for 6 of us. It had plenty of comfy beds and bathrooms. The outside deck was super nice for us to have our morning coffee on. The cabin was clean and spacious enough for us all to gather in the living room to visit. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. I recommend this cabin for anyone traveling to this area.

  • Cute little cabin perfect for small groups and couples. The bathroom was stocked with convenient items like make up remover wipes, toothpaste, and Qtips. Holly really thought of everything a traveler would need when putting this place together. The location of the cabin is secluded but also no more than a 10 minute drive from town.

  • No surprises here. Exactly as advertised. Perfect little place for a small group to stay during a float trip. AC worked great and had almost everything we needed. (Had to by a table top grill to cook outside). I'd stay again for sure.

  • Holly's Place is one of the most peaceful resorts we have been to around the tahlequah area. We loved the wild life and the amenities were above and beyond our expectations. If you're planning on floating the Illinois, Holly's Place is about a 10 minute drive from War Eagle, but it is definitely worth the drive.

  • Holly is an excellent host! Very flexible and helpful when it comes to finding the right cabin for you! She’s easy to get in touch with for any questions, but doesn’t hassle you about the reservation. This camp is a beautiful little slice of heaven hidden away just minutes from town. You feel like you’re out in the wilderness, but you can get to any needed shops in 10 minutes or less. Great for people going to float the river! Can’t say enough good things!

    Erin2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice out-of-the-way pace close to town, but a little over priced for this area. The Holiday Inn express in town is almost brand new and about $50 per night less, but of course, you don't get the same atmosphere these cabins provide. My wife and I ended up having to leave early since we could get virtually no cell reception here and needed to be available in case of an emergency, so keep that in mind if you are looking to stay here. Holly was very responsive to our requests, although because of the lack of cell service, we had a difficult time getting messages to go through. Lots of good things to enjoy here (mainly the peace and quite) but just know that if you want to check messages, you will have to wait until you get into town.

  • A really awesome place to stay! Very much worth the money if you’re wanting a quiet get away. Also super close to the river and resorts, so if you’re planning on floating the river, this is definitely a much better deal than the resorts.

  • A beautiful place to relax. We saw two eagles hunt for fish in the morning . Lots of wildlife in the area. House is comfortable, spent most of the time outside. Cell reception was spotty (for those who still need to communicate). River access was a little bit of a workout with the stairs and side bank. Overall it is a place we would love to come back to. Thanks for a great "staycation"!

  • Place was cute and cozy. Loved the location and close to the float rental places. Great outdoor patio to hang out and chill. There was the sweetest dog ever that came over and layed in the porch when we where outside. We highly recommend.

  • My family and I stayed here a couple of nights. The home was very cozy, we used the private access to the river. It took some work to get there, I would say it’s more for families with older children. My kids still had a blast but for a 6, 4, and 9 month old it was work. Literally had to strap my baby in his baby carrier to carry him down then slide into the river lol he enjoyed it but was a bit scary for myself. The river was great, the outdoor shower was a nice touch. Great communication and very friendly. We definitely want to come back.

From camping to glamping...The River's Edge B & B LLC is setting on the edge of the scenic Illinois River, where wildlife, rafting, kayaking, hiking and fishing abound. Watch the sun rise over the mountain or tour the historic Cherokee stomping grounds. There's something for everyone! This partial-house apartment includes 2 bedrooms which sleep 6 comfortably, is family-oriented and is in a residential neighborhood so if you want to escape the crowds and noise, this is your place!
There are 2 large downstairs bedrooms with a private renovated garage entrance. Room 1 is large and overlooks the river and has a comfy king bed, table and chairs and lovely library. Room 2 has a double and a queen and a table and chairs for work/eating. There are also televisions and movies available in each, one with Direct TV. The hot tub, grill, patio area are all just outside the entrance in the back where the river view dominates in the winter and plays peek-a-boo in the summer. The garage has been converted into a living/kitchen area with the sufficient space to cook, eat and hang out as a group. This is a partial-house listing and is family oriented in a neighborhood, therefore please read the rules. I don't want to mislead anyone to thinking it is anything else.
The neighborhood is semi-private and quiet. The property below the bluff is privately owned as is surrounding areas. The yard is shaded by massive cedars, oaks and walnut trees. If you like the outdoors and beautiful scenery, this is your place!
  • Beautiful location on the Illinois River. Easy to find but be aware of some dirt/gravel roads on the way. Ann is a wonderful host, helpful in every way. The bedrooms are private with a full bathroom. There is a pantry with frig, coffee maker, snacks, fruit, etc. Enjoyed my stay and will definitely go back again when in the area.

  • Beautiful drive to get to Anns place, lots of wild life & very back woods. This was more of a girls trip, we floated the river hung out and drove around checking out the area, this was a trip full of forever happy memories. Didn’t get to meet Ann due to timing but she seemed great threw messages.

  • Ann was a great hostess, with great communication, even when we arrived later in the evening than we had planned. She went above and beyond our expectations and taught my son and nephew (11 and 9) how to clean and sand a cedar walking stick. Breakfasts were tasty and filling. Beds were comfortable, and the lending library is excellent! The home is very clean and the company couldn't be beat.

  • Ann’s rental was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. The surrounding property is beautiful and wooded. It is fairly secluded, but only 25 minutes to the nearest town and the Cherokee Visitor Center and Museums. Only minutes from the Illinois River (breathtaking)! The hostess has everything you need for your stay-towels, blankets, pots, plates, utensils, board games, and much more! So comfortable! The hostess is knowledgeable about the area and can point you in the direction you need to go for anything. She is easy to communicate with and available for any questions. Check-in was easy. We loved our stay!

  • Me and my girlfriends stayed at Ann’s last year and it was great. We stayed with her again this year, and as expected, everything was amazing. This place is a gem, right off the river. It’s quiet and peaceful, just what you need in order to relax after floating the river. We arrived earlier than expected, but the rooms were clean and towels were easily accessible. She has everything you need from beach towels to Q-tips. It was very easy to communicate with Ann, and she even offered to let us to stay past our check out time to wait out a storm that was coming. Highly recommend this place.
