  • Caleb and his roommate are really down to earth and easy to be around. Our experience was much better than we expected. Would recommend because it's a great value for the price.

McKenzie Guest House is a boutique vacation rental consisting of six completely renovated suites located in historic downtown Marble Falls. This 260sq ft unit is located in a detached cottage, making it the most intimate on the property, yet it is still packed full of luxury. Sleeping Arrangements: Upstairs: Full-size sleeper sofa, Studio: Queen bed, Kitchen area with cookware, a tub/shower combination in the bathroom, a 55″ Roku TV and rocking chairs on an over-sized deck.
McKenzie Guest House is a historic landmark that was built by Victor Bredt in 1907. The main building is the original two-story hotel that once welcomed stagecoaches and offered lodging and meals to country customers for 25 cents. Bredt sold the hotel to a couple, Luther Mitchell and Gertrude Anna Ryan Wallace, who had traveled from a plantation in Virginia, then settled in Marble Falls. Their business as inn keepers thrived in the small but bustling town.
Scenic Hill Country beauty, a gorgeous lake, down-home cooking at one of the best restaurants in Texas, and world-class wineries can all be enjoyed during any visit to Marble Falls. This inviting town, nestled among gently-sloping hills blanketed in vibrant wildflowers and forests of oak and pecan trees, provides an arresting backdrop for those who enjoy being outdoors. Yet it also has plenty to offer travelers who enjoy more urban pursuits. Dine at unique restaurants, peruse private art galleries, and browse boutique shops in Marble Falls’ Main Street District. This fusion of outdoor adventure and urban elegance, set in a charming small town just 50 miles west of Austin, makes Marble Falls a great place to visit for active travelers looking to escape the rush of the big city. Marble Falls sits within 30 miles of vast parks and recreational areas, lakes, and rivers, making it a great launching point for exploring some of the best scenery in the Hill Country. One such example of this is the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, a hiker’s paradise with several miles of nature trails that meander through wooded forests past clear-water creeks and to the tops of hills and plateaus. In addition to viewing all the scenery, you’ll be in the best spot to see the refuge’s wide variety of wildlife, including two endangered species of bird, the black-capped vireo and the golden-cheeked warbler. Although there’s much to see and do in the wildlife refuge, it’s not the only option. Follow the Colorado River east of Marble Falls and you’ll reach several sprawling recreational areas full of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails; river access points for swimming and boating; and primitive campsites for those who enjoy sleeping under the stars. Speaking of swimming and boating, Marble Falls sits on the northern bank of Lake Marble Falls, a popular recreational area accessible from Lakeside Park and Johnson Park. Lake LBJ, just to the west, offers a bit more space if you’re looking to go jet skiing, sailing, fishing, all of which can be done year-round. Marble Falls is the place to be for wine lovers, as well. The town is just a short drive from six award-winning Hill Country wineries, such as Torr Na Lochs Vineyard & Winery, Spicewood Vineyards, and Flat Creek Estate. Each winery produces hand-crafted reds and whites that can be sampled at its tasting rooms, and tours if you want to see the winemaking process first-hand. If you’re more into beer, find your way to the tap room at Save The World Brewing Company, a local craft brewer that makes everything from malty pale ales to creamy stouts. If you are looking to buy a one-of-a-kind souvenir or for a delicious meal, the Main Street District in Marble Falls is the place for you. In the district, you’ll come across everything from boutique jewelry and candle stores to locally-owned restaurants and intimate bars and live music venues. A few blocks east of the district, you’ll find the Blue Bonnet Cafe, a historic and well-regarded eatery that has been feeding tasty breakfasts and succulent pies to locals and visitors for more than 80 years.
  • We stayed in the Austin suite and really loved our stay here! Management was great and responded quickly to fix an issue we had at check in. The place itself is so tastefully done, modern, and well laid out. The sheets and towels are extremely soft! We felt right at home here while in town for a friend's wedding. The Austin suite is the smallest on the property, but has great shower pressure, efficient AC, a great outdoor deck, and is freestanding from the main house which provides privacy. Would definitely recommend to friends heading to Marble Falls!

  • This was the perfect spot for my sister and I while staying in Marble Falls. It's centrally located (roughly 5 minutes from each side of town) and a block off Main Street which is the quintessentail street all small towns have complete with an ice cream shop. The house was adorable, cozy and clean with cottage vibes. The beds were comfy and sheets were visibly clean. The bathroom was also very clean. I tend to scrutinize these areas and I was satisfied :) The kitchen is pretty well stocked with dishes and cookware. It's not set up for someone looking to make a big, elaborate meal for more than 2, but easily accommodates a couple or small group of friends. The fridge is a single swinging door style so you should stop for bottled water if you prefer filtered. We found this place to be perfect for us while I was in town for a dental procedure - cozy and safe.

  • This place was awesome, as good or better than advertised. The house was immaculately cleaned and put together. It had every amenity and comfort of your own home. The location was right in the center of town. Restaurants and shops were within walking distance or a short drive. I would stay there again if visiting the area, and I would highly recommend it to anyone else.

  • Location, location, location. This cozy, well-appointed space was within 0.2 to 0.6 miles of everything we needed for our extended weekend stay. The hosts were great at communicating, and check-in/check-out were a breeze. We’d definitely stay again!

The Cowboy House is a cozy cabin at the edge of East Avenue. Just underneath the ravine sits this one bedroom home with a great backyard deck for enjoying the view of the lake. The front yard is a lovely place to spend the evening, but also home to furry friends native to the Texas hill country. Enjoy this secluded, yet convenient location and all the town has to offer.
The house is hidden away, enough to feel like an escape but close enough to civilization.
Burnet County is a wonderful place with small town Texas charm, but has all the city amenities you'll need during a relaxing vacation. We love visits to the Blue Bonnet Cafe for Pie Happy Hour, dinner at Francesco's Italian Restaurant (byob!), a beer at Double Horn Brewery, or even a yoga class at Sana Vida. Longer journeys to wineries, hiking Enchanted Rock, or shopping in Fredericksburg are also easy from the house.
  • Beautiful location looking down on the lake. Super comfy, both in amenities and in the decor.

    William2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little hill contry gem is perfect for your weekend get away. It has a secluded feel while still being close to all that Marble Falls has to offer not to mention just minutes from Horseshoe Bay. The back deck has a spectacular view of the water.

    Patrick2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wife and I really loved the secluded gem in Marble Falls. Love the cowboy theme and hospitality of the owner. Sitting on the back patio looking up at the stars at night was amazing. Then coffee on the front porch in the morning was even better. We saw humming birds, a tail-less neighborhood cat, cows, and deer! I wish we had more time there!!!! There are a ton of great spots to eat and drink all around the area. Will be back again!

    Kevin2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night for a quick getaway and to jet ski on the lake. The Cowboy Cottage has a beautiful setting and is authentically Texan. The location is convenient to town and all the Hill Country has to offer. We definitely enjoyed our stay!

    Pamela2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to get away and enjoy some quiet time. Beautiful views of the lake. Home is truly charming. We didn’t want to leave!

    Rogelio2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The air inside was cool, everything is clean and the house smells like leather. It’s so close to the city conveniences and park, yet located on a lot that makes it feel secluded. Very nice.

    Kathryn2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! The cowboy cabin was exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. The location was also neat, at the end of a secluded drive and overlooking the Colorado River, but only about 3 minutes from the Main Street district in Marble Falls. This getaway was an anniversary surprise for my wife and she was thrilled. We had a restful and enjoyable stay and the host was very responsive to questions, though we had no issues at all. We’d definitely recommend it if you want to kick back for a couple days in Marble Falls!

    Jason2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cozy place with a view. Saw deer and a fox very people-friendly from the front porch. If you're in this area and just need one bedroom this is a very good choice. I'll keep it in mind in the future.

  • I can’t say enough how much I love this place. I almost don’t want to leave a great review because I want to keep this place a secret for every time we come to visit. I highly recommend this beautiful house. The property manager was so accommodating to our needs. The place was gorgeous and in a perfect location in the town. The house is in walking distance to everything - grocery store, restaurants, bars, ice cream, even the lake. The house was quaint but had everything we could ever need. My favorite feature was the patio. It was pretty quiet and lovely to look at the trees and flowers - a plus for my infant who was just discovering the outdoors. The House was clean and stylish. Loved everything about it!

3 bedroom, 1 bath lakefront house with 80' water frontage, 20' dock for boat, jet skis, swimming and fishing across from Johnson Park and Christmas lighting. We have a 30 amp RV hookup, within walking distance to restaurants, art galleries, library, parks, dog park, brewery and wine bars. Excellent view of finish line for Marble Falls Lucas Oil Lakefest held in August, Marble Falls triathlon in July, Adventureland 4 wheel/ motorcycle park. A 45 minute drive to Austin, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and an hour to San Antonio. Beautiful sunsets, geese flyovers, numerous wineries, hiking, Longhorn Cavern, paddling boarding and kayaking.
We are directly on the water and within walking distance to town, amenities, restaurants, brewery, wine bar, parks.
It is quiet, peaceful, for water and pet friendly people. It is a great get away where one can take long walks, paddle board in the mornings, waterski, jet ski, fish, swim all in their own back yard. It's close for day trips to wineries, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Austin and San Antonio.
  • The location of this house is amazing. We spent the majority of our time on the dock which is right out the back door, swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and playing in the water. All the water toys were supplied by the house so we only brought our fishing poles. Easy access to town and lots of options for exploration close by. In the evenings we made use of the board games available in the more than adequate room the house provided. There was nothing we needed that wasn't already in the house. Recommend this house highly.

  • We enjoyed being on a quiet canal very near the lake. Loved the water toys and home is very well stocked with anything you might need... Example.... I forgot cinnamon for making my cobbler and found cinnamon:) Place need a good cleaning and people need to be aware to get down to the water you must go down a steep driveway which would be very difficult for anyone with walking issues.

  • I cannot say enough great things about this home. On the river, great dock, close to town etc.... The home is over prepared for guests! If you need it it is there! Flashlights? Kayak? A kitchen with every utensil, pot, pan, plate you can imagine? It's all there! I would go back in a heartbeat!

  • This is the second time we’ve stayed here, two adults and four children. This location could not be any better. You can walk out the backyard and jump right into Backbone Creek. There are ducks and geese and bats that fly at night. We brought our boat and dropped it in the public ramp just down the creek and were able to dock it at the house. We just love this house, it has everything you need for a lake getaway!

  • Updated home, right on the canal. Boat dock worked great, although be sure to have smaller rope for the smaller cleats. Home was equipped with water sports equipment. Great place for friends, family, and dogs.

  • The house is in a great location next to the water, as well as to some local eats and brewery. We had a great time relaxing and swimming.
