A small, private, cozy studio less than a mile walking distance of both downtown Bellingham and WWU campus.
This one bedroom studio is small but mighty. We believe you will find it to be a very private, convenient and affordable option in the heart of Bellingham. It's located within a mile of both the epicenter of downtown Bellingham as well as WWU campus. In 2017 we made some cosmetic improvements by replacing the carpet with hardwood flooring, updating the electrical and giving it a new paint job. However, it could certainly use an updated kitchen and bathroom and was used as a college rental for many years before we rescued it. So if you're looking for modern and fancy, you may want to look elsewhere. But if you don't mind rustic/charming, we believe you will be quite comfortable. It is most suitable for 1-2 people, but the futon couch can be used as a second "bed" making it available to groups of up to three. Also, the on-site parking space is located on the back alley. It is a bit small and the alley is somewhat narrow so parking a large vehicle could take some extra effort. We recommend backing in to the space. If you are uncomfortable with the small parking space, you will need to find street parking which is generally available but can get crowded by late evening.
The best part about York neighborhood is our proximity to both downtown bellingham and WWU campus (both are within a mile). There are also several neighborhood diners, pubs and restaurants all within a 1/2 mile that are great places to unwind after enjoying bellingham. We recommend both Nelson's market and MacKay's tap house. Due to our proximity to campus, there are many students in the area. Generally they are quiet but can host loud parties from time to time.
  • A sweet cozy space in a great location, walkable to food and great beer in Bellingham.

  • Its a small studio space, but could easily accommodate 2 adults and two kids. Easy to locate and very clean. Will stay there again if the opportunity offers itself.

  • Perfect spot clean and comfortable would highly recommend

  • Great location! The suite is small yet plenty of space. Everything was clean and plenty of amenities.

    Kali2019-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot minutes from everything. The patio is great and the space is awesome. Better than I expected, and will be the first place I look for next time I come to Bellingham.

    Justin2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming, private, and surprisingly spacious! Has everything that you need. The suite also has a really cool outdoor area that has a gas fireplace and seating to hangout outside. Wonderful spot! Can't wait to visit again!

  • Cute, little place.

    Carney2018-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy’s place was very private and cozy in the good way. It’s a 20 minute walk to downtown Bellingham, but there is also about anything you need within two or three blocks. I stayed in January, and it was easy to warm the place up in minutes.

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family street.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room, bedroom #2 and the dining room. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal university student energy.
  • Great location! Cute place! Comfy beds!

    Kristin2018-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable! Bellingham is lots of fun.

    Nancy2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was comfortable, clean, and perfect for our stay in Bellingham. we would definitely stay there again!

    Caroline2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy provided excellent communication, and a ready , clean, retreat . We enjoyed our stay in the Bungalow . It would probably be a bit crowded for more than 2 people in terms of space for suitcases and personal belongings. Comfortable and cozy. The gas fire place was very nice in the evenings and the kitchen had what we needed to do a little cooking . A nice tea selection, coffee, and S&P. There weren't really any other staples so keep that in mind if planning to cook. We also liked having the parking and close proximity to everything. Also a good value . We would stay there again .

    Kristen2018-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is an adorable little house with two bedrooms. The beds are comfortable with lots of good pillows (fluffy and soft) and Chris and Amy have done a nice job of anticipating things visitors might have forgotten. There are shampoo/soap dispensers in the shower, extra toothbrushes, coffee... The house is clean and the neighborhood is very safe and quiet, yet only a mile from Downtown.

    Jennifer2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy’s bungalow is quaint and super cozy! The bedrooms are tiny but the beds are really comfy and the bedding, pillows and blankets are excellent quality and lovely. It’s an old house but definitely has lots of charm. Lots of choices of movies, Netflix, Hulu, games, books, and local info. We really enjoyed our stay in Bellingham and would definitely stay there again if we were in the area. Amy and Chris were great with communication and very helpful..answering questions quickly.

    Siobhan2019-02-28T00:00:00Z

Bellingham Bay Loft with amazing VIEW!!! Best location in the city: across the street from the Interurban Trail with walking/biking access to beaches, parks, downtown (.5 mile), Fairhaven (1.5 miles), four blocks to Western Washington University. Unique, beautiful, and cozy guesthouse with natural wood details and art. Set high on the hill, West-facing windows on both floors invite views of Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands into the entire living space.
  • The view is great. The kitchen is large. The place was very, very, clean. It is a central location. The hosts were charming. When they say "steep" / "narrow" stairs to bedroom, believe them.

    Carey2019-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Accommodating, and comfortable. The view from the windows was spectacular, particularly during sunsets!

    Emily2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Phoebe and Alex’s place; the location was great! We were able to walk almost everywhere! There is also an amazing view! The train was a bit louder than we expected but I think we would have heard it anywhere we stayed in Bellingham.

    Heather2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent property within a very small walk to the university! Great for those visiting students at Western.

    John2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Phoebe & Alex’s carriage house loft. The space is one of a kind, open and airy, with a beautiful view overlooking the water. The decor and design of the loft make you feel like you are at your home way from home. Phoebe was easy to communicate with and the place is just as cozy as pictured.

    Ryan & Liza2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Remarkable space with a picturesque view. I’ve stayed at several locations in Bellingham and Phoebe and Alex’s loft is second to none. Artistically built with tasteful furnishings and a well-appointed kitchen ...Words can’t describe this special place, if you stay hear you will see what I mean.

    Tim2019-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • At this beautiful air bnb you can expect an outstanding view on the bay a good nights sleep and wonderful lighting coming through the loft with many opportunities of activities and good food around.

    Washington2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Phoebe and Alex truly care about their place and their guests and it shows. The loft is super cozy, clean and welcoming. The location is amazing - so close to downtown but when you’re there watching the sunset you feel like you’re all alone. We brought our 7 month old baby with us - the train bothered her at night but if it was just my wife and I it would not have been a big deal at all. Yes, it’s loud but it’s kind of cool too. I liked it. We didn’t use the kitchen except for the coffee that was provided (so nice to wake up and have it there for us!) but it looked well stocked for any simple meal prep. Walking distance to downtown and a couple good breweries is great, we want to come back and check out Bellingham some more!

Charming cabin-esque suite at the top of Sehome Hill overlooks the town of Bellingham with views of the bay, mountains and arboretum. Enjoy a walk to Sehome Hill Arboretum or into town, or make your way to Mt. Baker in the winter months for world-class skiing and snowboarding. Just a short walk through the woods to Western Washington University and a 10m walk into downtown where you'll find a variety of shops and restaurants, this is the perfect spot to feel central but isolated amongst nature.
Indoor fireplace and heated floors make for a cozy stay in the cold months.
  • Cynthia was an outstanding hostess from before be even arrived. She answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable with her helpful friendly personality. Her home was warm and inviting. It definitely was the most attractive and thoughtfully decorated with just what you need for a cozy stay. 5 stars.

    Anissa2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Funky little place with a nice outlook.

    Craig2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, clean, inviting space that is perfect for small family or romantic get away. Hiking trail is out the back door, quiet garden space and lovely view. Loved the decor.

    Rainey2017-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia's suite was beautiful and clean. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and cozy. The location is great, near an arboretum with many trails but also close enough to town for walking. Although our visit was quick, Cynthia felt very much available and ready to help should we have needed it.

    Sarah2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was everything we wanted. The extra effort that Matt put in to make us feel welcome was extra appreciated. It was the perfect destination for our stay during our honeymoon. If you are looking to visit Bellingham or Fairhaven I can not promote better accommodations. This place was great. Only negative thing that I can think of is that when we visited in July the garden in the back was a little overgrown and we could not enjoy sitting out there on a nice day. However there are plenty of other places to sit and enjoy nice weather while in Washington. 5 stars.

    Austin2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were in town for a couple of days checking out the city and Matthew’s place was in a great location to do so. The interior was beautiful and the bed was comfy. Because it is on the lower level of his house, footsteps and voices could be heard coming from the upper level at times. Not a big deal but may be something to consider.

    Leanne2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at the Arboretum Hilltop Garden Suite! The suite was quaint, cozy, and comfortable. It made a great home base for our post-wedding getaway. It's really close to some of the best food Bellingham has to offer! The space was clean, views were gorgeous, and Matt was very responsive to our requests. 10/10, would not hesitate to stay here again.

    Spencer2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my second stay at Matt's private guest suite as much as my first. Super location, very comfortable space, and wonderful host. Highly recommend staying here!

Victorian upper story of a duplex on a ridge above downtown Bellingham with much character, morning sun porch with swing, upper deck with peek-a-boo view of Bay, city views, back yard cabana...
On a ridge in downtown Bellingham. Mix of residential and commercial. Very walkable. Quiet private yard in the midst of the city.
  • This was the perfect place for my stay. Great location, right in the heart of it all but not overly loud. Very inviting and comfortable. It really felt like a home! A++++

    Connor2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location for walking all over Bellingham. The space is quirky/fun. Be sure to look at everything, and do some painting therapy.

    Jill2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! So cozy and the perfect location if you want to be able to walk downtown.

    Barbara2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderfully funky interesting apartment! It is really large and wonderfully stocked! Nicole even left a bowl of fresh picked apples for us to enjoy! It is in the middle of downtown close to everything! We will definitely stay here again!

    Jeana2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place is better than it even sounds. Killer brewery at the other end of the alley, walking distance to everything in downtown. Would love to come back and stay here again.

  • One of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed. You can’t go wrong here - the perfect mix of everything.

    Dylan2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, quaint, and all-around lovely place! Fully-equipped with anything you could possibly imagine. All accommodations were super comfortable. Location is unbeatable, the decorations felt like home. We had a lovely coffee on the balcony as the sun rose. Would return any time!

    Ana2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a beautiful, cozy but spacious place. The epitome of a home away from home. Nicole is an excellent host. Attention to detail is valuable and Nicole has created a space that is personal, eclectic and artistic. It's filled with plants, art, books, a vinyl collection, keyboard, CDs, DVDs, a great entertainment center, not to mention all the essential items a person might need in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The couch and bed were my favorite places and both so roomy and comfortable. The private deck with armchair that looks out over downtown B'ham was a major after work relaxant as was the giant claw foot tub. There' s even an office space and a creative space that are separate. PLUS, the lovely co-op is literally steps away across the street not to mention the entire downtown experience at your fingertips. I just loved my stay and will definitely stay again in the future.

The Cabin Apartment is a spacious classic Northwest studio. The basement level of a grand 1918 home in the historic South Hill neighborhood, Cabin Apartment features a private entrance and ideal location for exploring Bellingham by foot, bike, or car. We're located midway between Downtown (1 mi/1.5 km) and Fairhaven (1.3 mi/1.9 km). Just east you'll find Western Washington University (0.5 mi/800 m), and to the west you'll meet the stunning Bellingham Bay and South Bay Trail (0.3mi/450 m).
Guests enjoy a full stocked kitchen, dining table, bathroom with shower, and bedroom with a queen bed, 52" Plasma TV (Netflix and Prime TV included), and full-length (comfortable) couch. Wifi included.
Absolutely try to catch a sunset while you are in town. Seen from just across the street, or a short walk to the boulevard that winds along the bay, the sun sets over pristine waters and islands with views of the Canadian mountains in the distance. If you're lucky, clouds and water vapor create streaks of vibrant color across the sky. Red, blue, pink, purple and blinding orange. I've been a lot of places and none can rival a good Bellingham sunset. This neighborhood is very safe (though you always should keep a watchful eye at night when you are close to a university). Enjoy the close proximity to downtown and all the local breweries (over a dozen!) There are quite a few places to catch live music and 2 excellent independent movie theaters. Fairhaven is super cute and fun to check out the local shops during the day. Stop by Fairhaven Pizza, Sirena Gelato, Stonesthrow Brewery, and Le Chat Noir for a cocktail while you're there. If you're lucky, the Fairhaven Circus Guild will have a performance going as well. If you have a car, here are some area highlights: Mt. Baker! for skiing, snowboarding and hiking. Take a ferry to Lummi or one of the other San Juan islands. Buy lots and lots of sushi in Vancouver (and take advantage of the exchange rate). Take a day cruise around the sound, they're affordable! And of course, go hiking or mountain biking on the thousands of nearby trails.
  • My partner and I stayed here for a weekend devoted to hiking, breweries, and seafood. It was a great getaway for us and the location was reasonable to get to downtown Bellingham. The apartment has its quirks but they make it unique. We would stay here again!

Comfortable basement apartment located in the York neighborhood at the heart of Bellingham. An easy walk to restaurants, shops, and the many breweries located downtown. We are also conveniently located off I-5, making day trips to Vancouver or the Mt. Baker ski area easily accomplished. Fred Meyer and the Bellingham Food Co-Op are close grocery options making the use of the apartment’s full kitchen a good choice for a night in. Please read the 'Other Things to Note' section before booking.
Located in the York Neighborhood, close to downtown and all that Bellingham has to offer. Our neighborhood is comprised of families, college students, and young adults working here in town. The houses are painted in fun and eclectic colors, which makes for interesting neighborhood walks.
  • I was so grateful for the opportunity to rest during a crazy work weekend! They made it so easy to check in and out with my crazy schedule!

    Megan2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Steph and Nathan's place is a nice little basement suite in downtown Bellingham. The space itself is nice and has all the basics you would need for a nice stay. The location was great - just a quick walk to downtown, restaurants, and the university (WWU). Steph was very quick to respond to all messages and was very accommodating. The only problem was the noise (which has been flagged in the advertisement), which was for the most part fine, but some mornings it was quite loud upstairs early on (around 7:30am). However, if you are an early riser, this will probably not affect you. I would recommend Steph and Nathan's place if you are visiting Bellingham. Steph and Nathan, thanks for a nice stay!

    Hayley2019-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the area in which it was located. Its a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking with various amenities nearby. The apartment itself was quaint, cozy, and clean. I would definitely stay here again at my next opportunity.

    Justin2019-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Very cozy and nice, thoughtful touches. May be tough for people who want to sleep in later as there can be quite a bit of noise from upstairs. Overall great experience.

  • My friend and I stayed here one night on our way to Canada. The apartment is so cute and cozy. Close to everything. We were able to walk into town for dinner and drinks. Communication with Steph & Nathan was quick. Check in and check out was easy. They had mentioned upstairs noise and the dog, didn’t encounter either. The only detail I feel that should be mentioned is that there are some spots on the floor that are a bit risen and require a step. My friend and I both stubbed our toes quite a few times. Other than that, it was great.

    Haley2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Steph and Nathan's place was amazing. Sheets were SO SOFT! Space was open but would be tight if you were a taller person, I am 5'5 and some of the ceilings and doorways felt short. You can hear the kids running around upstairs during the day but it wasn't a bother to me. The location is great, so central to downtown and is just a short walk to most popular spots.

  • Georgia Ann was a wonderful host. Checking in was easy and the place was comfortable and clean. What we enjoyed most was the location. Downtown Fairfield was a short walk away. We enjoyed Keenan's on the Pier for delicious seafood, Harris Avenue Cafe for breakfast polenta, and Stones Throw Brewery for ice cold brews around a fire. Georgia Ann was also kind enough to send back my musical equipment after I forgot it in the room. Everything about the stay was perfect!

    Andy2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very cozy, clean apartment and is located very conveniently to downtown Fairhaven. The hosts are very welcoming, and they put out such items as fresh fruit, bottled water, and documents on things to do in the area. The apartment is also very quiet, and is located in a very nice neighborhood with wonderful views of the ocean.

  • Cozy apartment near Fairhaven and WWU. Perfect for a couple looking to explore Bellingham or visiting a student at school. We walked down the hill to explore the restaurants, shops and strolled along the boardwalk. We loved Georgia's packet of information on Bellingham and the special welcome touches like a bottle of nice wine and snacks.

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • Very nice room. Clean, quiet, great location near Fairhaven. Comfy bed and lots of light. Tiny kitchen is adequate for simple meals. Tea and breakfast cookies were provided. Sue is a great host. Bathroom is awesome, with large shower and colorful tiles. Kitchen and bath are half flight above bedroom. Would stay here again.

Freshly painted bedroom with brand new bedding and linens. All new furniture with a queen sized bed!! Located in a daylight basement at garden level with a separate entrance that has a keypad door (no keys necessary!). The bedroom includes access to living room, kitchenette and shared bathroom. A short walk to downtown Bellingham and WWU campus. Off street parking included.
This is a large property with a beautiful garden which guests have access to. And a view of the bay which is just a couple blocks away!
Nice neighborhood mix of students of the university mixed with families and older couples. Our home is set on a hill with a great view of Bellingham Bay. We are also just a few blocks from downtown Bellingham which has much to offer by way of shopping, eating and nightlife.
  • Right among student housing for WWU - great if you're visiting a student. It's an active weekend area, so be aware that things will be hoppin until quite late at night. You're sharing the basement with a student lodger. Plenty of privacy, though.

    Karen2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • You get what you pay for. Bedroom was clean but basement was unfinished and smelled like mold. Basement was a common space and we experienced people walking through in the middle of the night and leaving the outside door unlocked.

    Declan2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location is about a 15 minute walk from downtown so it's great if you don't have transportation. It's expensive for an apartment but far cheaper than a hotel room.

    Robert2018-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This location is tucked away only 3 minutes walking from Western's North Campus and another 5-10 to downtown. Perfect for traveling students on a budget or a much-needed bed for the road. The owners are helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay again when I'm up in Bellingham next!

    Mike2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Basement door has a low hanging beam just inside. Found that pretty quick haha. Everything was great

    Daniel2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy bed, awesome location!

    Kali2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's an easy choice if you're staying in the WWU North Campus area. Quiet (after about 8pm) and convenient. Definitely worth the pricetag!

Cozy studio apartment in private home, in a charming residential neighborhood, only 3 blocks from historic Fairhaven. The apartment has a separate entrance off the alley and we have a place for you to park just outside the door.
The apartment has an efficient kitchen with a full sized refrigerator and, by popular request, a new microwave! It also includes a smart TV that can access amazon, hulu, or netflix (no cable TV service, though). Things you should know: The bathroom has a shower and enough hot water for one longish shower but not two long showers back-to-back. We live upstairs, and have two kids (teens, now), so you'll hear some family noise from time to time. We have a dog. He's friendly and not too barky. Our neighbor across the alley practices with his band Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Mostly mellow cover songs. For travelers with small children: The space is heated with a small corner gas stove. The stove itself can get very hot and could burn curious fingers when it's going. IMPORTANT note for winter travelers: We live on a hill and if it snows the street in front of the house and the alley in back can become too slick to drive. In that case, you would need to park at the bottom of the alley and walk the half block uphill to our place.
We are in the South Hill neighborhood, full of lovely older homes, very close to the Fairhaven shopping district with numerous coffee and restaurant options. We are also convenient to Western Washington University. The interurban trail is close by as well if you'd like to stroll in the woods or along the water.
  • Cosy little place that I chose because of its proximity to Fairhaven. I was able to walk to everything. There was a garage/studio on the alley where musicians treated me to a rendition of "A Few of My Favourite Things." Great location, highly recommended.

    Edward2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very clean and cosy, close to beautiful Fairhaven and the sea. We had a great stay and even extended one day. Cheryl and her husband are great hosts!

  • Perfectly located in Fairhaven! Walking distance to stores, restaurants, coffee shops. Warm and cozy with everything you could need for your stay. Hosts very friendly and attentive of any needs or concerns. Would definitely recommend!!!

  • Greta spot right by downtown Fairhaven.

    Sarah2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We found this to be the perfect place for us. It was an easy walk to Fairhaven where we found many restaurants and shops. There are a lot of walking trails close by as well. The apartment is very clean and comfortable.

    James W2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great and close to all you need. You can walk to the pier and food. Not too far from downtown Bellingham. Cheryl and Peter are extremely nice and informative of the area. Great place all in all. Only one thing I'd suggest would be a small microwave to reheat any leftovers you may bring back, or to reheat a cold coffee. That's the only short coming which is minor. I look forward to staying there again.

    Brian2017-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Cheryl's place is the perfect place for a comfortable stay right in the center of Fairhaven! The bed was firm (with just enough cushion), the sheets were super soft, the bathroom was clean (so important), the wood stove warmed everything up super fast, and having a kitchen on-site was a big bonus! You can't beat the value for this cozy Airbnb!

    Kristen2018-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location is excellent with Fairhaven and the waterfront within walking distance. Cheryl was quick to respond and checked in before and during my stay to make sure everything was great. Cute and cozy little apartment, perfect for a weekend getaway in Bellingham.

Cozy upstairs apartment in a turn of the century Craftsman home. One small bedroom with queen bed, newly remodeled full kitchen & bathroom, living room with a small bay area that is curtained off and has a dresser and twin bed (this room does not have a door, but has blackout curtains to separate the space from the living room. Foyer is shared with the downstairs apartment, but each apartment has it's own secure door.
Amazing location within walking distance of so much of what Bellingham has to offer! Only three blocks from the library, courthouse, city hall, and downtown bus depot. Wayside Creek trail is virtually across the street. Restaurants, breweries, live music, Saturday market all with in a few blocks. Close access to Galbraith Mt trails
Right in the heart of Bellingham. On the edge of downtown and the lettered streets, it's busy during the day and quiet at night.
  • Great place pictures show exactly what it is. A few blocks to train station and lots of stores, coffee and good vibes! We loved it

  • Great location at a price less than local hotels. Very clean with nice touches

    Arthur2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful two-week stay at Tanya's place. The apartment is very spacious, tastefully decorated, and clean, with lots of natural light. The bathroom is beautiful and was very well supplied with many clean towels and other essential items. The kitchen is spacious, clean, cheery and well-equipped, and the bed is very comfortable. The location is excellent: a nice neighborhood to walk around, quiet, and within walking distance of downtown Bellingham. Check-in was easy, and Tany always provided quick and helpful responses to questions and requests. Highly recommended!

Welcome to the Cedar Mason Suite on Boulevard... All the vintage retro nostalgia of a late 60’s roadside inn, with all the comforts and amenities of home. Spacious private suite, a stones throw to the Boulevard park trail connecting downtown Bellingham to Fairhaven. Bay view, private parking, Cedar patio, Madrona trees, vintage art and furnishings, Persian carpets, 4K smart tv, WiFi, kitchenette, bike shed and so much more!
Easy trail walk to fantastic restaurants, breweries, unique shops, and live music experiences. Perched right above the South Bay Interurban trail, where you can walk/jog/bike to bay-side Boulevard Park and charming downtown Fairhaven. Bellingham is a bike-friendly city!
  • The location doesn’t get any better. It’s half between downtown and Fairhaven. The price point offers a good value. The room was very spacious and the kitchen offered the essential amenities. Bellingham has amazing food so the kitchen wasn’t needed in our case. Would stay here again. 11 am check out was perfect for a lazy Sunday.

  • Alborz was a fantastic host! Timely with responses and everything was set-up exactly as expected, no surprises. My favorite part was the location - this is right between Fairhaven and downtown Bellingham so you will be in the perfect spot to see as much of Bellingham as possible.

    Kenny2019-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is a nice place with lots of things going well for it. Check in and communication with the host were super easy. Location is fantastic with easy access to downtown and local parks. The place was generally clean and tidy; however, our enjoyment of our stay was severely hampered by a lingering, repulsive smell that seemed to come from the hallway with the shared units or potentially an old rug. The odor was overpowering and smelled like a mixture of cat urine and old tobacco smoke or must. It's hard to say exactly where it came from, but we would recommend eliminating this odor prior to future guests booking this place. We considered cancelling our reservation the day we arrived, but instead just spent as little time here as possible. This Airbnb is a missed opportunity of something that can be much better.

  • Great, convenient location!

    Cara2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location! Great access to downtown Bellingham, Fairhaven, or WWU! Perfect if you like to walk. Almost immediate access to the South Bay trail that is about .5 miles into town or a little under 2 miles to Fairhaven. If you need to go to the WWU campus you can follow stairs that lead you straight up the hill in about 12 minutes. Nice open studio setup that allows plenty of room and has just enough stuff to do some basic cooking in the kitchen.

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space with fun design details, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this town. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION before booking!
This is the THIRD floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need ahead of time. This also goes for additional household items. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig one cup at a time) as well as a French Press, and a hot-kettle for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and we appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. Specifically The Mission, a non-profit who has been serving Bellingham's homeless population for many years. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is currently experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. But we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. If you do not want to see or think about homelessness, please do not stay here. WE are letting you know now, that the location is urban, and you will encounter homeless people in the region. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx

  • My boyfriend and I took a weekend getaway to Bellingham for our first anniversary. Everything was perfect and easy to get to! Lindsy gave us so many suggestions on where to go, drink, and eat! I texted her asking for a fancier dinner place and she responded so quickly and with a few options. We will definitely be back! Oh... all of their local picks that we visited were exactly as described! They know what they’re talking about!

  • Very walkable location near galleries, boutiques, restaurants, coffee shops and a great pier over the bay. The intimate space is stocked with all the necessary amenities. You can cook or bbq at the unit or just walk to one of the many fantastic restaurants in town. If you are in need of any recommendations be sure to reach out to Fiona, she has great suggestions and is very quick to respond.

  • We really enjoyed Fiona's place for a Bellingham weekend to visit family at WWU. It is a sweet little studio, new construction, fairly close to both Belllingham and Fairhaven. Fiona was a great communicator, and let us know promptly about any need-to-knows. Would recommend it!

Custom built sky lodge nestled between cedar bows and corkscrew willows. Private abode with glorious views of the bay. Just above Boulevard trail for walking or biking to the park and right into town. Luxurious finishes with all the amenities for work or pleasure. Discounted for soft opening!
Perched above Bellingham Bay for glorious sunsets. Designed for natural light with large picture windows, skylights and uniquely integrated mirrors. Beautiful oak floors, warm and comfortable furnishings and luscious house plants. Full chef’s kitchen with coffee bar and gorgeous granite island. Large wrap around deck with covered swing bench and comfortable patio dining. Pyramid ceilings, brilliant and dimmable lighting, 55’ 4K smart TV. Must be okay with the periodic train whistle blowing and urban noises from Boulevard street below:)
  • We loved our visit! Everything was perfect except that we found the internet to be too slow and unreliable for remote work (even though we checked with Alborz that the service was "fast and reliable" beforehand). Alborz let us set up our own internet with Comcast which was a huge improvement. I have to lead with that because it led to a stressful first week, but other than that I highly recommend this fully-equipped and comfortable apartment. The place has a very effective and pleasant layout which makes it easy to cook, eat and relax. The full kitchen setup was great, with nearly brand-new, high-quality cookware (unusual for AirBnB!). The large windows and skylights mean there's plenty of light even when Bellingham is a bit gray. I moved the desk over to the window overlooking the water for one of my favorite workstations ever! Street noise from Boulevard is somewhat disruptive when you're out on the deck but is barely noticeable inside. The train is very audible inside but didn't bother us too much. The location is within easy walking (15min) or biking (5min) distance to town. We brought bikes and kept them on the back deck - it's never been easier to hop on the bike and go to the climbing gym, co-op, park, etc.

  • My partner and I stayed here for a weekend and it was wonderful! Great location to Fairhaven! Amazing views of the bay. The bed was comfy and the coffee maker was perfect! (Bring creamer if you want it) the parking is a tiny bit tight but our SUV fit okay! The place was very clean and all the house plants are lovely! We had a great time and would stay again :)

    Laura2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a bit hidden but not too difficult to find. The view is amazing and the space was very cute.

    Peggy2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely B&B- the pictures portray the indoor and outdoor spaces accurately. The full kitchen is an amazing addition to the space. The bed is very comfortable. I will reiterate from prior reviews there is traffic noise from the main road, but you can't hear it inside. Additionally, there is the train (which you do hear indoors, but there isn't a lot of train traffic) but these are the ambient noises one encounters in a city. The view more than makes up for the noise! Thank you for the great place to stay, Alborz!

Private 900+ square foot apartment on the edge of the downtown business district. 3 blocks from bus transit depot station and walking distance to numerous breweries, restaurants and attractions. Slightly unconventional, this converted office space has 2 large bedrooms off of a full kitchen with a large table for dining, and no formal living room. Each bedroom includes a King sized bed, a sofa bed or futon/couch, 43" screen tv, wifi, and lounging/seating area.
This apartment is the upstairs floor of a 2 story commercial building located on the north end of downtown Bellingham. The ground floor is a naturopathic doctor's office. We don't have an elevator so there is a flight of stairs to climb. It borders the "Lettered Streets" neighborhood and the Central Business District and is across the street from the Whatcom Creek water way. Walk to anywhere in downtown, and we are about 5 minutes walk to City Hall and Whatcom County Courthouse.
Cornwall is a main street and we are half a block away so there is some traffic and people moving until about 5:00 and things slow down. The evenings are quiet with just neighborhood traffic.
  • Clean, comfy and convenient. Lots of nice snacks and extras which made it easy to fl at home

This is a 900sf main level 1 bedroom apartment in a 100+ year old updated duplex on the north edge of Bellingham's central business district. Very comfortable king sized bed with cotton sheets and pillow cases. We have breakfast bars, cereal, oatmeal, coffee and cream and guests are welcome to enjoy our garden boxes when they are in season! This is a great spot for any one who wants to walk or bike around and see Bellingham!
Bordering the Lettered Streets neighborhood on one side and down town on the other. Busy during the day and quiet during the night and weekends.
  • This is an amazingly comfortable and thoughtfully prepared vacation home. Tanya has provided wonderful comforts to make the stay special. Excellent location for walking to many adventures.

  • We enjoyed at stay very much, and would do it again. The location was very convenient for everything downtown, and we enjoyed leaving our car parked and walking to everything. The apartment was also very comfortable and spacious. No complaints whatsoever! I would recommend this stay to anyone!

  • This is a lovely place, and so convenient to everything Bellingham offers. It was perfect for us parents of a new WWU student for its proximity to campus, downtown, and walking trails. We will definitely keep it in mind for future stays.

  • This place is really nice and comfortable. It’s bigger than I expected from the pictures. We didn’t cook while there, but the kitchen was very well stocked for breakfast and there were nice snacks in the cupboard. It’s a very short, easy walk to downtown, only a few blocks. The only drawback is that it’s not really in a neighborhood, but at the edge of a neighborhood on one side and businesses on the other side. I’ve stayed at 6 different Airbnb’s in Bellingham in this price range and this is one of the best.

The Rose Street House is a work in progress/diamond in the rough. Tiny old kitchen, no granite! WWU inquire special offer. Construction nearby. Historic 1915 Lutheran Rectory, many rough edges to restore. Not for perfectionists. Amazing location! Near student housing &WWU main campus. Close to nightlife, restaurants, the Saturday Market, and Downtown Bellingham. Close to walking/bicycle/dogwalk path to Fairhaven along the Boulevard on the Waterfront. ROKU TV. 2 showers, no tub.
Funky Historic charm, with an amazing central location. Great neighborhood for walking, and for visiting WWU. Good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and walking the dog. The Plexiglass front door came from the electronics repair business, and provides startling contrast to the historic brick. Check out the new FoxBlocks building off the back yard, soon to be a hot glass and metal foundry for artists!
Near WWU and student housing. Construction is noisy during the week 7am - 5pm. Next to State Street commercial and the Lutheran Church. The Saturday Market is about 2 blocks away. Great Art Tile shop next door. There is nearby nightlife, so it can sometimes be a bit noisy at night on weekends.
  • Great location!

  • The house is in a great location and Linnea was a very responsive host. The house needs a lot of work to be a great place to stay and hopefully they'll be able to get the work done soon.

  • Great location-you can walk everywhere! Really can't make any complaints. I'd go back in a heartbeat

  • Great communication, location, and smooth transition from booking to staying. Owner was extremely accommodating and left lights and music on for me upon arrival. Met all my needs and responded quickly. Would book again in the future for sure!!!

    Megan2016-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for visiting campus. Can walk to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The place is in the middle of a remodel but has everything you need. Easy check in and communication.

    Melanie2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • I am struggling to write this review... Linnea is a very accommodating host. Her communication skills during the stay are fantastic and she even brought us a fan during our stay because it was very warm. The place was very clean. The beds were fine. The living room furniture was very comfortable. Location is good. Now the negatives: I'd read the reviews from 2017 that said the place was under construction. It doesn't appear much has been updated since then. One light switch by the front door controls all of the lights in the house... so if one person wants to go to bed, the lights everywhere need to be shut off (or the person needs to sleep in the light). The kitchen, in my opinion, is nonfunctional. The fridge/freezer works fine, but there is NO counter space to do any prep work. The second bedroom definitely needs blackout shades as there is a streetlight directly outside the window. Our son ended up sleeping on the couch due to the light. (I would guess that will be fixed, as Linnea does seem to respond to suggestions.)

    Kirsten2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as-described: a work in progress. I am really looking forward to seeing it again when it is finished! The gas stove was nice and kept the dining room and bedroom area perfectly well heated, we never had to use the electric heaters. Double doors can close off the living room space, making the dining/bedroom areas warm up much faster. The location makes it really easy to drive over to Fairhaven for shopping (or just strolling around!) and it is right on the edge of Downtown Bellingham with plenty to do within walking or driving distance. It's a mostly quiet corner of a great location in town. My wife says we should stay again when the renovations are finished, and I'm inclined to agree with her :)

    Seth2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Linnea's house is very unique and interesting, it has a fascinating history that was fun to learn about. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, spices, coffee and some breakfast items as a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the house has a smart tv in it. The house is being restored currently and I can't wait to see how much more fabulous it becomes. Linnea was very responsive to me and made this an easy stay.

Unwind in this cozy space complete with your own private: living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and patio deck. This sanctuary is a short walk to Fairhaven historic district, and the bay. Lots of popular walking trails near Bellingham Bay. After your walk enjoy a relaxing coffee in Boulevard Park. We are less than 1.5 miles from Western University Campus. This is a great location for parents visiting their college kids.
Quiet, serene setting with a partial view of bellingham bay.
  • Great place to spend some time in the Fairhaven District. No traffic noise and only a short 8 minute walk to great restaurants, one with live (and not too loud) music with no cover charge!

  • Joleen’s place was fabulous! Just what I needed! And you can’t beat the location, so close to boulevard and Fairhaven, we walked all over the place and even walked back from downtown. Joleen was very welcoming when I said my one year old was going to join for one night and she brought out some toys. Very sweet!

    Rachael2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality! We were only there for a weekend but we enjoyed how cozy the home was and the close proximity to all of the shops in Fairhaven! We could not have asked for a better little weekend getaway! And you can't beat that view! We will definitely be coming back!

  • The location was awesome! Short walk to Fairhaven, and boardwalk. The house was nice and clean, and the check in/out time was very accommodating compared to most hotels. The house had everything we could need, and had a great patio to relax on. The only thing I didn't realize, is the bed is very small for two people, and there isn't any A/C. Which won't matter for most of the year. Overall, the stay was great, and I would definitely stay there again! Thanks again!

    Mallory2019-06-16T00:00:00Z

  • Clean quaint place with great proximity to dinner and nightlife. we walked to dinner and the brewery and took a few dips in the hot tub! As advertised an urban cottage. Would visit again despite the street noise everything else was great.

  • Alborz's place is a very quaint little cottage in the heart of Bellingham! The place is immaculate and convenient! Our communication with Alborz was easy, and he was extremely friendly and helpful! We highly recommend it!

    Philippe2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • I think our experience was affected by time of year (day after Christmas ). Alborz is a gracious host invested in his guests’ experience . That said, cleanliness and shower functioning were not what others describe . Shower worked but didn’t drain . He couldn’t fix it as he was out of town though I’m certain he’d have attended to it quickly were he in town. Front BR definitely noisy for light sleepers . Also, main appeal of the rental was that it could accommodate us and had a hot tub and sauna. Alborz let us know about 10 days out that hot tub was broken and part wouldn’t be in before our arrival. Tho my husband and I enjoyed the sauna, the rest of our family doesn’t like dry heat so that was unfortunate . I booked months in advance and made sure everybody knew to bring a suit thinking a hot tub on a cool night would be lovely . Like I said, think our experience was not the norm . I was too busy with holiday and trip prep to look into a different rental when I found out about hot tub.

    Lisa2018-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, cozy quaint little hideout! Comfortable, private and homey, the sauna and hot tub were a real treat and the outdoor shower and tub were an added pleasant surprise. Had a lovely stay.

    Julie2017-10-01T00:00:00Z

  • Had a great time staying here! Location was amazing, the space was cozy and the perfect size for our group. I would totally stay here again!

It's beyond clean, with thoughtful touches, like a great selection of teas to have in the morning, teapots, coffee and all the utensils you'll need. • Wow! There was plenty of attention put into this two bedroom/ one bath unit. The master queen bed was so comfortable and the view from the room was incredible. We arrived on a very cold, blustery weekend and we wouldn'thave known it from the suite. It was warm, comfortable and quiet. My husband and I like to walk and explore. Downtown Fairhaven is a short walk (downhill, but you eventually have to come up). Buses to downtown Bellingham are nearby and a great way to get around due to the suite's excellent location. Rod was great with communication. I highly recommend this place and we will be back!!!!

  • Rod's place was awesome. Very clean and everything you would need. Even baked chocolate chip cookies for us. Will definitely stay again if we come back to Bellingham.

Cozy bedroom with double bed adjoining living room on first floor of charming two story colonial home. Living room offers added space for your enjoyment, more like suite than small bedroom. Powder room is adjacent to bedroom with 3/4 bath (shower upstairs). Shower might be shared if other guest room is occupied. Bay views from living room and front yard. Beautiful neighborhood in great part of town!
Lovely home that sits atop South Hill overlooking Bellingham Bay. Located midway between Fairhaven Village and downtown Bellingham. We are walking distance to WWU and a 15-20 minute walk to Fairhaven. Your bedroom adjoins living room with adjacent powder room and shower upstairs. This bedroom is private but less sound proof than upstairs room as it is right off living room. You may hear front door open/close if other guest bedroom is occupied. This room is next to our driveway/carport/back door, so you may have some related noise, but we try to be sensitive and keep coming/going noise to a minimum during sleeping hours.
  • Staying with Michelle is like a home away from home! Cozy room and a lovely house in a very beautiful neighborhood. Everything was extremely clean and well thought out. Michelle made sure the guest has everything they need. She was very attentive to helping with questions around the area and she showed us around the city. Very friendly and welcoming personality that made us feel right at home. Hope to make another trip back some day. Thank you so much Michelle! Carolina&Vitali

  • Michelle is the best!

    Christina2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s house and hospitality were equally wonderful. She went over and above to accommodate our late arrival. The space was comfortable and perfect for us, with amazing bay views. We would definitely recommend and stay with her again.

  • Absolutely perfect location. If you're getting a bnb in Bellingham, look no further. It's close to everything that is interesting. The space itself was great. Extremely clean and comfortable. Michelle went over everything and made sure I felt at home, which is always appreciated. There were no drawbacks to staying here, and I'd highly recommend it.

    Jacob2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were considering our booking at Michelle's place just an overnight stay at the beginning of a longer trip to Seattle... But then weather became nasty, we turned to get back home, and we realized that this stay was worth the trip by itself! Michelle and Warren are such nice and gracious hosts, their guest rooms and common areas are so cozy and impeccably neat and clean, and bed was so comfy! Breakfast cooked by Michelle was delicious, and we were given many options to choose from. Chatting by fireplace stoked by Warren in the evening, drinking wine and sharing stories was the best part of our trip. Definitely recommend, it feels so nice to be taken care of! Paul & Irina

  • This was my second time visiting Michelle's place on a trip to Bellingham. As you can imagine, it's because it's a phenomenal space and Michelle is a wonderful host. There is nothing else to say.

    Jacob2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay with Michelle. She was a generous and friendly host. The house is lovely and comfortable, like visiting an old friend with excellent decorating skills. We felt instantly welcome! Chatting with the other guests over coffee at breakfast made our stay feel even more relaxing. We shared travel tales and swapped recommendations for future adventures to foreign lands. If you have plans to visit Bellingham, we highly recommend reserving a room with Michelle.

    Sherrie2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a fantastic host, definitely a "superhost". She gave us some local tips, we had great conversations, she invited us to join her evening gathering, and even gave us a ride into town (and offered more rides). We would stay again. Location is central to Fairhaven and Downtown. We didn't have our car and if you are willing to learn the bus system, there is a stop about a 5 minute walk away towards the campus which can bring you to town. Walking is possible but the home is at the top of a hill. One sweet touch which I have only experienced a few times is that in addition to making coffee in the morning, she warms the cups with hot water before pouring coffee. Loved it. We usually reserve whole houses/apartments for ourselves and here we had an awesome experience sharing space. Thanks, Michelle!

Welcome all! Fairhaven Haven is a quiet and comfortable space in a residential neighborhood just two blocks from the heart of historic Fairhaven Village in Bellingham. • This house gets a 10/10! So close to town. Very clean space with nice, soft towels and lovely bedding. It is located beneath owner's house but you have your own separate entrance. Noise is not a problem.

    Lauren2018-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • I shouldn't say this because I won't be able to rent it again if it gets too popular, but this was by far the best short-term stay experience I've had over the years. The apartment is fabulous, Ross and Sharon go above and beyond on all counts, and the location is great. A 3 minute walk to the heart of Fairhaven and/or the South Bay trail. Sweet!

    David2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Place was beautiful and just as expected! Sharon was very good at communicating with us prior and after the stay! They had an issue with their lockbox but communicated prior and it was no hassle at all! Sharon also gave us some tips on where to go in the surrounding areas for food/scenery and was a great 1 night stop prior to our bike race in Bellingham.

    Gillian2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful & very functional suite in a wonderful location—you’ll need to be ok with some steep inclines, but you can walk everywhere in Fairhaven from here. You can see a bit of the ocean from the house, and I even woke up to a deer wandering through the yard! 10/10 would stay here again.

    Laura2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Best place of our trip sofar. Very clean and well equipped. Shame we only stayed one night. A pitty for the noise of passing trains during the night.

    Nicole2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Top notch! Very clean, stylish, comfortable and great location. Highly recommended!

    Shannon2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean place - nice big comfy living room, comfy new bed and a well-equipped kitchen. There’s a lovely outdoor garden area and the place is a two minute walk from the main shopping area in Fairhaven. I’d definitely stay there again.

  • Ross and Sharon were absolutely delightful and so helpful. They helped us to plan a great weekend for my mum's birthday and the flat was excellent. We had everything we needed within walking distance of the lovely town centre. I would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Fairhaven!

My place is my home. It is very private yet close to public transport, parks, and the Fairhaven Historic District with greenways, restaurants, shops, and a great bookstore. We are three blocks from a great walk along the Bellingham Bay. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families. One block from grocery store.
Modern house in residential setting with yard, patio and access to large roof patio. Fully furnished kitchen with condiments, dining area and a living room.
Bellingham has several interesting neighborhoods to explore. Fairhaven is at the top of my list. Food, coffee, books, trails parks and Bellingham Bay are within easy walking distance.
  • Marc's place is the nicest air bnb experience we have had. Everything A+

    Dan2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • This AirBnB was so nice, I had to stay twice. Thanks again for everything Marc. You're the best.

    Matthew2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Marc's place was great! It was easy to find, easy parking, close to stores/restaurants and a cute little coffee shop next door. Marc responded quickly and worked with my late arrival. The room and bathroom was nice and clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had use of a full kitchen and the living room, which were also clean. I would definitely stay again!

  • Fairhaven's Finest Room Rental. My buddy and I stayed at Marc's house prior to a climb in the Cascades. The room was neat, clean and stocked with a library. Marc is a superb (and thoughtful) host and offers many local tips and ideas to improve your stay. The location is about as close as one can get to everything that Fairhaven offers. The top deck (which offers a commanding view of the Bay) was being (Website hidden by Airbnb) the time you read this it will likely be complete.

  • Fairhaven Place is a lovely decorated room and large bathroom situated within walking distance to the Fairhaven District and an easy drive to other parts of Bellingham. There is off-street parking and a nice efficiency kitchen with sink, dishes and silverware, Keurig coffee machine and many coffee choices and half and half for guests in the half size refrigerator. Ken was friendly, eager, and willing to share some of his favorite restaurants and local walks.

    Bill2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location if you love Fairhaven. We were able to walk to all the shops and restaurants within 5-10 minutes. We were in town for a triathlon and Ken kindly let us store our bikes in their secure garage. Also, they have the most friendly and adorable dogs! One small thing to consider if you’re a light sleeper: the unit is on the lower level and we could hear walking/talking from the above floor. It didn’t bother us but just something to be aware of. Overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely stay again the next time we are in Bellingham.

    Stephanie2018-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ken and Kathy are wonderful hosts - quick to reply to any messages, polite, and accommodating. A+ for location, cleanliness, and easy check in. We would recommend to anyone looking for a brief, afforadble stay in Bellingham. As previous reviews state re: noise, our experience was that the walls are thin. We can appreciate a happily busy home with dogs, company, and the like - but we were able to hear the hustle and bustle of footsteps, barking, and conversations throughout the day starting around 8AM. We were also unaware that the adjacent bed wall hosted a separate unit with tenants until their own music started around 11PM the first night. However, Ken was quick to reply to our message of concern, the music shut off, and we were assured that both connecting doors were dead bolt locked with no handles for access on either side. Perhaps consider noting this in your description so there are no future surprises :)

    Buddy2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean room, quite area not far away from the ocean. Great place to stay.

    Tamara2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Overall great host and location. The place itself feels somewhat small and the neighbor's dog was somewhat loud due to barking and overhead foot noise. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Adding a microwave would be beneficial.

  • Michelle made our short stay at her beautiful house to the most personal and wonderful Air BnB experience we ever had!!! And this despite the fact, that we accidentally arrived one day too early! After the first shock and confusion for both parties, Michelle settled us in, offered us delicois cheese and crackers and and a glass of wine and we had a wonderful evening with her! She is the most charming and welcoming host we ever met! After a very relaxing sleep in our beautiful room with a view of the sea, we were spoiled with a goregeous breakfast! Michelle offered to drive us downtown and to give us a tour! We decided to walk, though. Her adorable house is set on the hills of Fairhaven-Bellingham with a view to the sea! You can easily walk downtown Fairhaven in 15min (downhill). In the evening, Michelle gave us a ride to catch the ferry to Alaska. We would have loved to stay longer and dream of coming back soon! We can only highly recommend this place to anyone looking for the real and very personal Air BnB experience! Thank you so much, Michelle!!!

  • Michelle was a great host. She made me and my 17 year-old son feel right at home. We arrived shortly after 11:00 pm and even at that hour she helped us get settled in. The next morning she walked us down the hill to where my son's campus tour started, and she was a ready source of information about Western Washington University. And her breakfasts were delicious. The location is great, and the house is quite comfortable. The weather cooperated enough that I could have a glass of wine outside while sitting in one of Michelle's Adirondack chairs overlooking Bellingham Bay. Pretty great, all in all. Since my son will be attending WWU, I'm sure we will be staying at Michelle's again in the future.

    Bruce2014-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience at Michelle's beautiful house. My husband and I stayed for a few days and were able to enjoy the lovely company of Michelle and her daughter. Michelle is a very smart, kind, generous and genuine person. The house is decorated with a lot of taste and elegance, the view is stunning, location is perfect. Michelle's cuisine was indeed delicious and healthy. We would love to renew the experience and will definitely recommend this to our friends and family. Another great thing was meeting other guests Beadie & Gene, who were absolutely adorable. Thank you, Michelle for a great long weekend at your house, we had a blast.

  • Michelle is a great host and I spent about 2 months staying at her place while looking for a house in Bellingham area. I had great Easter Dinner with her and her family, and hanged out with her neighbors several times. It is a beautiful house with absolutely great views and gardens. Animals in the house are particularly cute and friendly!

  • Michelle is an amazing hostess. Her home is beautiful. It was a place of peacefulness that I needed.

  • Michelle was a fantastic host and Bellingham is a great weekend getaway. Our room was immaculate and she is a very good cook.

    Albert2014-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Because my family has stayed with her before, I knew what to expect when staying at Michelle's house. The house is clean and comfortable, and sits on top of a hill with a view of the bay, in a beautiful neighborhood of older established homes. My son and I first stayed here in May when he visited Western Washington University. It is very close to campus, about 1.5 miles to Fairhaven and about the same distance to downtown Bellingham. We returned last weekend to move him into his dorm, and chose to stay at Michelle's again. For us, Michelle is a perfect host - her home is comfortable, her breakfasts are delicious and she is a ready source of information about where to eat and places to see. Plus, if you like talking about good movies, you'll feel right at home (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • Absolutely A+ experience! Michelle is a such a warm hostess and we enjoyed a lot from the fabulous ocean view out of the window when waking up with the chirping birds, your yummy pastry, and our warm chatting...Highly recommend. It'd be wonderful if in the near future we are living in this same nice town as your neighbors :-) Ed&Lily

Welcome to this 360 sq ft studio located in a quiet cul-de-sac in the loveliest neighborhood in Bellingham. Western Wash University and historic Fairhaven are within a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive. The suite has an extremely comfortable queen size bed, private entrance, kitchenette, dining area and bathroom. I use hypo-allergenic bedding and keep the space squeaky clean. Parking is outside the unit on private property.
The space This suite is ideal for a single person or a couple. It is sparkling clean. To that end, we have never hosted animals of any kind, in case you should have allergies. Your kitchenette comes with a fridge, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and water filtration unit. Coffee and tea are provided. Feel free to prepare salads, sandwiches, cereal etc (there is no cook top). I have chosen not to supply breakfast for a couple of reasons: people's dietary needs are very different, and I simply cannot compete with the delicious breakfasts offered at the local cafés within an easy walk. (You should try the Eggs Benedict at Mount Bakery Fairhaven, wow...) If you want to sit outside in the summertime, there is garden furniture at your disposal on the patio. Feel free to bring your glass of wine or beer and make yourselves comfortable.
As for laundry, although I don't normally offer it, if you are in a jam I can do a load for you. Also, if you stay for more than a week, we can come to an arrangement.
You have picked a fantastic area to stay in Bellingham. If you would like some help with places to go and see, we are here for you. We have lived in Bellingham for a long time. There is also a binder full of brochures from the local tourist office in your room. This is your special time whatever the purpose of your visit happens to be. Hopefully you get to relax, unwind and enjoy yourselves. Fairhaven/South Hill are neighborhood gems with stunning views of both Mt Baker and Bellingham Bay. Fairhaven, which is just down the hill, is full of quaint cafés, ice cream shops, restaurants, art shops, a fantastic bookstore , a village green with market and a grocery store. The Community Boating Center is also close, where you can rent kayaks, paddle boards , rowboats, etc. There are also multiple trails that take you into the forests around here, or you can just walk down to Marine Park, sit on a rock and take in the sights and sound of the sea. Directly down the hill from our house, you will find a board walk across the bay which ends up in Boulevard Park where you can enjoy a cup of coffee at Woods. Our home is a great jump-off point for trips to majestic Mt. Baker (only an hour's drive east of Bellingham ), Canada's cosmopolitan Vancouver in beautiful British Columbia (a 20 minute mile north of Bellingham), and the gorgeous San Juan Islands (ferry from Anacortes  45 minutes southwest of Bellingham ). You can catch the GreyhoundBus or Amtrak to Seattle (90 miles south) or Vancouver from a station which is within walking distance from our house. Lake Padden, a local treasure, is 10 minutes away by car where you can take a picnic,  go for a swim, or go for a 5K walk around the lake itself.
  • Hilde has an exceptionally clean, stylish and thoughtfully appointed space. She and her husband are great hosts, very responsive and helpful. The space is private and in a very quiet setting, yet very conveniently located and walkable. It has lovely windows which open easily for good ventilation, a ceiling fan, window fan, and even A/C if needed on warm nights. Small bedside tables, 2 french presses, filtered water, big bath and plenty of closet and storage all make you feel at home and comfortable. There's also a lovely porch and garden space on the other side of the house they share with you to sit outside.

  • Spotlessly clean second story studio. Easy walk to Fairhaven but be aware, it is uphill on the way back. Very nice extra touches like ground coffee and French press, snacks, filtered water. We really enjoyed Hilde and her husband. I would highly recommend their studio and would stay there again.
