Behind a locked gate, this funky, hidden Victorian offers quiet comfort and a private courtyard in the center of town -- plus our world-famous homemade fruit salad (and more) for breakfast every morning. Our home is close to downtown, the Pearl District, Trader Joe's, the MAX train, & Good Samaritan Hospital. You’ll enjoy our place because of the high ceilings, the location, the people, and the ambiance. Our small room is perfect for conference goers, solo adventurers and business travelers!
Beautiful 1900 Queen Anne Vernacular home with tall ceilings, amazing moldings, hardwood floors (outside the bedrooms) and a private courtyard. While the house is charming, it's not pristine. There are dents and scrapes. We're slowly restoring it but don't expect perfection. If you have an old house, you'll understand.
Thriving urban neighborhood, close to conventions, concerts and Providence Park. Walk downtown, or stay nearby for art films, restaurants, plays, desserts and excellent shopping.
  • Nice little tucked away location yet very accessible. Mark was very promote to reply and great to communicate with all the necessary details. They made arriving and checking in easy. One draw back is the parking. I had a difficult time finding a place to park. It is also in a noisy area.

  • Mark and Olga are fantastic hosts that gave me lots of travel tips during my time in Portland.

    Dennis2018-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great old house. Great location. Super walkable to all of downtown and lots of eating and drinking options very close. Parking was a big issue for me. Mark very graciously provided me with a permit, but it took me 10-30 minutes each time to find a spot. Often several blocks away. Also, there is a bar patio adjacent to the room I stayed in and on several occasions they were loudly dumping glass bottles at around 12am and also at around 8am. It wasn't a large disturbance, but it was noticable. Conversations also creeped in from the patio deck late into a Saturday night which I imagine can become much louder come summertime. All in all it was great. Mark and Olga were very nice very accomodating. I very much enjoyed atting ith Mark. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting without a vehicle.

    Clay2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This old house is quirky, slopey, squeaky, and utterly delightful! Mark was a great host (Olga was out of town). Good restaurants nearby, and very easy to get to downtown by bus. Thank you!

    Patti2018-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, mark was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

    Alex2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic location with very generous hosts! I would definitely stay again!

    Mj2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Would stay there again any day! Great location, near late night food and shops. Mark is a gracious host, witty, and always greets you with a smile. He made our already wonderful vacation even better. He's from Portland and is chock full of tips and recommendations. We felt very comfortable in his home and LOVED how easy it was to walk to just about anywhere we wanted to go in Portland. If we ever come back to the city, Marks place will be one of the first places we check for availability.

    Rob2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The description is accurate. Great location in the heart of Portland, close to public transport and nice shops and restaurants. Mark and Olga are great hosts, very welcoming and cool. Loved the fruit salad. Would definitely recommend the place.

Behind a locked gate, this funky, hidden Victorian offers quiet comfort and a private courtyard in center city -- plus our famous homemade fruit salad (and more) for breakfast every morning. Close to downtown, the convention center, the Pearl District, Rose Gardens, concerts, Trader Joe's, the Max train, & Good Samaritan Hospital. Great for couples, conferences, solo adventurers and business travelers. Host Mark grew up in this neighborhood and has lots of great tips to make your trip special.
Big room (there's a smaller one, too). This is a funky Queen Anne Vernacular house built in 1900, with double-hung windows, hardwood floors (outside of the carpeted bedroom), very high ceilings, and amazing molding. We're slowly restoring it but it's not a showplace yet, so I hope you don't mind some chips in the paint and scratches on the floor. If you've owned an older house, you'll understand.
Northwest Portland is one of the oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods in Portland. The city's best art house movie theater is kitty corner, and there are restaurants, sports bars and cute shops all along 23rd and 21st Avenue. The Pearl District is just a few blocks away. Providence Park (where the Portland Timbers play) is about ten blocks away. Washington Park and Forest Park provide literally 20 miles of running and hiking trails. Pioneer Courthouse Square, the center of downtown, is 1.2 miles away, a pleasant walk.
  • What else can I say? Mark and his wife were great hosts that were a blast to hang out and talk with. Of course, they value your privacy as well, if that is what you prefer. The room and amenities were very clean and comfortable. Also, be sure to try the fruit salad that they make in the morning. Good stuff. The neighborhood is a short walk from popular breweries and restaurants as well.

    Dan2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This location is in a great area! Next to great restaurants, conveniency store, and Trader Joe's is right around the corner. You will feel comfortable with the area as there is very little crime or homeless people in this neighborhood. You can take a walk or hail an Uber/cab to check out another parts of the city. Downtown is walking distance and loads of great craft beer places! The house is kept clean, and the host is incredible! You will feel part of the family yet feel like you have your privacy too. Most things here are communal as it's a shared kitchen, living room, dinning room, outside area, and you share the downstairs bathroom with one other guest. The owner has a guest parking pass which he is more than willing to let you use. Private and secure entrance as well. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks again Mark for a great time and the comedy show tickets!

    Arthur2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful stay! Mark was very helpful with suggestions and was an awesome host! He provided the best fruit salad every day and great comedy club tips!

    Alejandra2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was a fantastic host and the place is beautiful! Incredible location tucked behind some great bars and restaurants - but you can't hear anything from the house. Kind of remarkable. Room was nice with very tall ceilings and the house was spacious. Mark was incredibly helpful and even dropped me off at a conference I was attending when I left! Really a great value for that neighborhood, and so close to fun things in Portland. Highly recommended!

    Nick2016-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Mark was exceptionally hospitable. His house is close to many great restaurants, bars and activists. We will definitely use his place when we are back in Portland.

    Reasa2018-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • It's super cozy and within walking distance of most things!

    Christi2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • I felt very comfortable at Mark's house (Olga was away when I visited). Mark helped me with ongoing suggestions and info on using various transit options so that I could leave my car at home. Location is a very lively and interesting mixed use neighborhood. In my room, I heard no noise from outside activities. Being a classic, old house, there is some people-moving-about noise when everyone's home, just like in most homes.

    Deb2018-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Olga were such great hosts. The room was nice and everything went super smoothly! Would definetly visit them again.

Portland International Guesthouse is just a short walk to the Portland Streetcar and MAX light rail with direct service to the airport and 1 block from two bus lines serving downtown. The Portland International Guesthouse consistently ranks as one of the most highly rated guesthouses in Portland. Our facility is entirely non-smoking/no vaping. • Really nice people, they helped us a lot with keeping our bags after check out so we would be free to bike around the city. Great location. Highly recommend

  • Good location, clean.

    Kenneth2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house was everything as it said in the posting. Friendly and easy check-in, check-out. Great local tips. Very helpful for whatever is needed. Comfortable bed and bedding. The inn dates to the 1900s - very well kept and with modern touches - the walls are a bit thin and there are some creaks, but other guests appear to be respectful of requested quiet times and behaviors. I think the value is good for the area - its nestled between lovely shopping districts with cafes, shops and restaurants - plus beautiful trees that bloom in the Spring. Recommended.

    Kimberly2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful spot! Checking in and checking out was pain-free, the location is amazing, there are so many things to do within walking distance. It was nice to relax after activities and despite the close proximity to so many things, I was able to rest and relax. You also have the opportunity to socialize or can keep to yourself very easily. I would recommend this airbnb to anyone looking to visit Portland, and will look into stopping by again if I'm ever in the city again.

Enjoy the Portlandia vibes from the heart of North West Portland. You’ll love the location and the charming front porch swing is perfect for people watching in the Alphabet District. The neighborhood is full of wonderful restaurants, bars and adventure. The space is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. My place is the perfect basecamp for a Portland getaway!
The Alphabet district is a walkers paradise, close to Washington Park, Forest Park, The Rose Gardens, The Japanese Garden and Providence Park where the Timbers play. The apartment is just steps away from trendy 23rd street that has lots of cute shops, trendy restaurants and bars.
  • We would highly recommend Emma's adorable place in Nob Hill. Perfect location close to lots of restaurants, shops and bars. Trader Joes was conveniently located across the street. Her apartment is 1 unit in a lovely Victorian house. It could not have been move adorable. Emma was super helpful making lots of suggestions for restaurants and parks in the area. We had such a wonderful stay and hope to be back sometime in the future.

    Jill2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Strongly recommend staying with Emma while in Portland - there is a cute street called 23rd just a few steps away with lots of lovely boutiques and resto bars - great host with lovely style touches! The location in Nob Hill is lovely and very close to the park. Definitely worth it.

    Julie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super chic! Super comfortable! Great location that was the perfect spot for our trip to Portland!

    Ben2017-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place feels like you’re a local in Portland. The shower is small, my husband is tall and had a little trouble negotiating. But it was clean and fun!

    Kaitlin2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location across the street from a Trader Joe's. If you are driving be prepared to find paid (about $12) overnight parking.

    Jennifer2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a darling place to stay - totally fun decor, Emma thought of everything and more in her effort to make us comfortable. Fabulous location close to wonderful restaurants, shops and downtown. Quiet spot at night. Good parking off street. The only minor complaint that we are sure Emma will solve is the need for a few curtains for night privacy near the front porch. Emma was a terrific help in recommending restaurants and much more. Highly recommend staying at this really lovely spot.

    Hope2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Let me start off by just saying that the location is amazing. If you want to come to Portland to be apart of the nightlife, to experience the good food they have, and to explore downtown then this is the place to stay at. Not only is the location very close to public transportation, but there very trendy streets like 23rd and Burnside just walking distance away. If you want to be in an area that's excessible to downtown Portland then I highly recommend booking your stay here! The host herself also lives close by and she was super sweet, making sure we had everything we needed as well going out of her way to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. The place itself is very cozy and the home is broken off into mulitple units so you have the privacy of a small apartment with your own entrance. The house is clean and the inside is furnished beautifully. Had an amazing time showing my friends the Portland area and staying at the Sunny Bungalow Vibes in Nob Hill made the experience all the better!

    Andreea2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Truly charming and beautiful place to stay. Emma is a wealth of knowledge about the city of Portland and was so warm and accommodating. Thanks Emma!

We're a village of historic buildings in the vibrant Nob Hill area of Portland. You would have a bed in a 4-bed dorm in our main building, hand-rolled bagel breakfast included. You have access to a full kitchen and common areas to mingle with guests from all over the world. A few blocks to popular shops, cafes, pubs & the city's best restaurants. Walk to most attractions, including downtown, outdoor markets, Pearl District, Powells Books, Rose and Japanese Gardens (short bus or 1/2 hour walk).
  • Wonderful place with European / PNW vibe, excellent amenities, great cafe!

    Theresa2019-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is super convinient for anybody visiting Portland. It takes only 10-15 minutes walk to downtown. Moreover, it is very clean and looks good. I believe there are optional activities every night. I attended free beer tasting of local beers. So Portlandish :) It is a little bit more expensive place in comaprison with other hostels I have been to. However, you are paying for the convinience and it is worth it! Would stay again.

    Jakub2019-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, spacius communal areas, great cafe, super clean bathrooms, simple shared bedrooms. Just what I needed at a great price.

  • A very nice hostel. Clean, safe. Walkable neighborhood. Cafe with beer on tap was great. Enjoyed my complementary bagel and tea in the morning. Great value. My new go to place in West Portland!

    Elizabeth2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • This hostel was hip and clean. Very good for the price. The downstairs cafe was convenient, nice common space too. Free parking on premises is actually street parking until 8 AM but they sell $5 permits for the area. Would stay again to spend time near downtown.

    Amber2019-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • NW Portland was a wonderful decision. If I return to this area of Portland, I will definitely come back here. The cafe and common area were great and welcoming for a late night arrival. They provided a lock for loan and a locker in the bedroom. I felt very safe and was walking distance from most of the things I wanted to do.

  • We both really loved this apartment and would definitely recommend it. The apartment was super clean and a really good size. It was well stocked with appliances - a toaster, kettle, coffee pot etc. Parking was pretty convenient too. Anastasia gave us loads of good tips before we arrived and check in was really easy. It was a great location - loads of good eateries around (I'd recommend St Jack's and Southland Whiskey Kitchen!). Overall, I'd highly recommend Anastasia's apartment. Great value for money. I'd stay there again.

  • Craig’s spot was amazing! Great location! Close to everything! Short drive to the Japanese Garden/ Rose Garden. Few minutes away from Voodo Doughnuts and the infamous keep Portland weird sign. Our favorite restaurant, Tasty & Alder, was close by as well. Craig was quick to respond to any questions, check in was easy! And he even provided travel size toiletries for us. The place was clean and had plenty of blankets, towels etc were also provided. Thanks for an amazing stay! Recommend this place to all our friends!

    Karen2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I love Craig’s place! A perfect location close to shopping, restaurants and public transport. The neighborhood felt very safe and had the most gorgeous shops just a few minutes walk away. It was a bit noisy in the mornings as it is in a busy area on the ground floor but that doesn’t bother me as I’m a morning person anyways.

Centrally located apartment off trendy 21st ave in NW Portland. Steps from great local bars and restaurants. Short walk to the Pearl District and forest park. This building is old but well built. Perfect for a couple or three friends. Plenty of space, with a cozy feel!
Great old 1920 building. Lots of charm. Has queen size bed is bedroom. Also has very comfy couch. I also have an Airo mattress that could set up in living room if need be.
This is easily one of the best neighborhoods in Portland. It's a block off NW 23rd with great shopping and restaurants. It's a few minute walk from trendy Pearl District. Forrest park is also right down the street. Feel free to ask for ideas for places to go or things to do.
  • David's place is clean and stylishly furnished. He was very accommodating when we pushed back our arrival time and is quick to respond to you. Easy check in and check out. Love the location, very walkable and felt like I was in a safe area.

    Sara2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • David’s place is awesome. Walk anywhere and have a great home base to come home too! Will definitely stay here next time I’m in Rip City!

    Kenneth2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a great location! The apartment was just as described and very nice. Our Host, David, was very responsive and answered all of our questions. There is so much within walking distance from the apartment that we only used our car once. We hope to stay again!

    Karen2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a fun, happening neighborhood. Just don't bring a car! Parking is terrible. Nice walkable neighborhood with great shops and places to eat. David is a great host.

    Eric2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was exactly what we needed on our brief overnight stop in Portland. It was in a nice neighborhood, easy to walk to restaurants & downtown. David was easy to communicate with on getting into the apartment, recommended some places to eat (good recommendation-The Fireside). We would definitely stay here again--hopefully longer than the brief overnight. There is so much to do within a short distance of the apartment-Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, Forest Park.

    Elizabeth2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • I’m a big fan of this neighborhood! Walkable to great shops, bars, and restaurants. Very smooth process for last-minute reservation and check-in. Friendly & responsive host.

    Tyler2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in David's place was perfect for our first trip to Portland. It was in a cool area and we were able to jump on public bikes to get anywhere within the downtown area. The place backs up to a Trader Joe's which was nice to be able to cook our own food for a meal. The apartment is old but in very good shape. I recommend staying here!

    Brad2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Host (David) was very inviting. I miscommunicated our arrival time but he was completely cool with it. Listing description is accurate. The location cannot be beaten. So close to downtown Portland and walking distance to the thriving 23rd Ave. You would pay so much more for a hotel with the access you have here. We rented a car for just three days so we could drive around Oregon and up to Seattle. Parking was never an issue close to where we were staying. Even got back late one night and found a great spot nearby. But you really don't need a car at all. Walking distance to MAX station and take that anywhere in Portland. We went to a Blazers game and never paid to park there because we took the very clean and safe MAX train. The apartment itself is amazing. The character this old building has is awesome. David really decorates well without being overbearing for a guest to stay. Great space and accommodations for my wife and 6 month old son. Yes 6 month old son. You can still have a great time in the city and walking around with a 6 month old. This location helped a lot with that. David was extremely accessible. I reached out to him through Airbnb with a couple questions and he got back in a flash. Next time my family comes to Portland, we will stay here. I have already recommended it to extended family who is going in June. No lie. Great value. You will not regret staying here! If you are a first time Airbnb user like us, this is a great place to go. It's got everything you need! Thanks David!

  • I loved the cozy and pleasant space of Olivia’s condo! It was a sanctuary for me to retreat for rest and rejuvenation. Olivia was thorough, clear and responsive in communication. I appreciate Olivia answering all my questions. Olivia was gracious in accommodating my late arrival, and prompt in addressing any requests I had. I appreciated the thoughtful touches: refreshments and snacks for my arrival, fully-stocked kitchen, colorful touches in decor. The condo is within minutes walk to shops, restaurants, parks, public transportation. I very much enjoyed my time in Portland, thanks to Olivia’s warm hospitality and lovely space!

    Tina2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Olivia was perfect. The place itself is nice, clean, cosy. Kitchen well equipped and all the equipment of the appartment worked perfect. The only slight disadvantage was that the appartment is located in ground floor and there is not enough sunlight during the day.

    Michal2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Olivia's place was very nice, conveniently located, and had all the amenities I needed. One thing to note is that there is no AC and the windows don't have permanent screens. This caused the room to be a bit stuffy and smell. The heat was not an issue though and I was there from June-August.

    Rachel2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Cool stuff in any direction. Streetcar right there. Also apartment is clean and kitchen well equipped. Recommend.

  • I was working in PDX for about 2 months. This was the perfect home base to the office and Forest Park (running). It’s a quiet building in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the Pearl district. This was perfect for my trip. Olivia is extremely responsive and a accommodating host.

    Jes2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Olivia's place for 3 months while working in Portland, and I couldn't have asked for a better base to explore Portland. The NW neighborhood is amazing, and so is the Pearl. Please make sure to visit the Commissary Cafe right across the street - awesome coffee and brunch items. The condo has a large kitchen and is nicely arranged in terms of using the space. Can highly recommend it as a temporary home while staying in Portland!

  • I really enjoyed staying in her room. The room is not big but very convenient to me, with big kitchen, bathtub, king side bed, wi-fi,TV, and so on. Also neighborhood have very good places, I like to go to 21st and Pearl District by walk. Olivia is very kind to me. Thank you very much.

Third floor suite in the historic Isam White House. Includes bed area, living and dining area, kitchenette with microwave, hot water kettle, dishes and small fridge and private bathroom with tub/shower. This is one of the last grand mansions downtown that hasn't been converted to condos or offices. We are at the shopping and restaurant districts of Northwest 21st and 23rd Avenues. Walkability score of 97!
The Large studio is half of the old ballroom on the third floor of this home. It's been modernized with a brand new bathroom and kitchenette. We also have a smaller suite available in the same home and each has their own private AC/heat. The upstairs hall has a station with tea, Hershey’s kisses, instant coffee (not trying to compete with Ken’s bakery on same block!) and additional toiletries. The room at the top of the stairs without the electronic lock has a larger garbage can if you want to empty your smaller one into and this is also where the iron and ironing board is stored. Don’t get tempted by the washer and dryer, they are not hooked up or part of the listing yet!
Northwest Portland, Nob Hill, also known as the Alphabet District offers sophisticated shopping, dining and people-watching. Victorians, Colonial Mansions, boutiques and restaurants line the streets of this neighborhood that's ideal for leisurely strolls, while the adjoining Forest Park was made for hikes.
  • Historic charm with modern flair. Great location for nightlife, quick hop to downtown. Definitely recommend.

    Steven2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • My parents stayed here for about a week. The location is amazing. They mentioned how comfy the bed was and my mom really liked the decor in the bathroom.

  • Had a wonderful stay at Richard's place. Getting in the gate from the street can be a bit tricky at night, but the place is lovely and bright and spacious. The heater that looks like a painting can crank out the heat! The shower is luxurious! And location can't be beat for shopping and eating. Had a wonderful weekend! Thank you!

    Abby2018-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience, and it was amazing. Richard was an accommodating host, and when our train out was delayed, he was super awesome and let us stay a few hours extra on our last day. I wouldn't change a thing, and if I got back to Portland, I'd like to stay here again.

    Samuel2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful space right in downtown Portland at a much better price than I could find anywhere else. The host was responsive to the few questions I had. Would definitely stay there again when I need to be downtown.

  • This was my first experience using airbnb. Everything went very smoothly. Our host was communicative about the details of our trip on both the website and email with regard to what to expect and how to access the apartment. The apartment was so lovely, clean and had fabulous character! We were visiting friends in Portland and so we were out and about a great deal. The location was perfect for us - easy parking and close to our friends! Thank you SO much!

  • WoW! I kind of hate to leave such positive feedback because it will probably get booked all the time and not be available for our next trip! I do highly recommend this flat!! Great location, very clean and great communication with the host. When we book our next trip to Portland we will definitely book this place with Brad again ( hopefully it is available)

    Katy2013-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brad was a gracious and responsive host. The apartment is nicely situated close to the Pearl district and downtown Portland. Brad left great instructions for the studio and also great restaurant and bar recommendations for the surrounding area. The apartment was the perfect size for our trip, and matches all the photos. Next time we go to Portland, we will definitely try to book this charming studio again.

    Emily2014-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jeremy & I had a great time at Brad's apartment in Portland. The location couldn't have been more perfect. Easy walking distance to 23rd street (great shopping and restaurants) in one direction and the west side of downtown in the other direction. Perfect place to go home to after exploring the city. Thank you Brad for being so accommodating from the parking pass to the wifi to easy check in and check out procedures.

    Kelsey2015-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • We did not meet Brad but his email communication made it easy to access the flat which was perfect for our needs. It was in a great location and equipped with everything you would need for a short or long stay. The fixtures and fitting gave it a quirky character.

    Reg2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was clean and neat, very adorable apartment. Location was very central. Parking in the neighborhood with the parking pass was pretty easy and convenient. Thank you again! Loved it and would definitely recommend.

  • Brads rental fell on the last day of our 8 day tour of the PNW and it was indeed the best for last. We absolutely loved the decoration of the rental and every thing we needed to fully enjoy Portland was available. The pictures do not do the space justice as we were surprised to arrive and see that the rental far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this rental and it was an exceptional value for the quality.

Hello! I'm glad you're here - welcome! In addition to my beautiful condo being close to Washington Park, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Zoo, Arboretum, Downtown, Pearl District, MAC Club, NW 23rd, it is also FRESHLY deep cleaned! AND no longer on the market meaning no realtor showings (nevermind review noting those 2 frustrations). You'll love the unit! xo m
Cozy and clean, fresh, modern, private and perfect for your Portland experience. You won't find anything better!
Very colloquial, feels like old world Europe but with all the modern amenities, access and passability.
  • Beautiful apartment close to downtown area as well as 23rd street. Quiet, residential, safe area. We had a lovely time staying here.

    Cara2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Meris was fantastic. Great communicator. The condo was beautiful & spotless. Went above & beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable stay.

    David2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was the best little condominium we could have asked for! Clean, comfortable, and close to Burnside which made exploring Portland so easy.

    Kaitlyn2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional accommodations! Could not have been more pleased with Meris and the wonderful atmosphere she provdided!

    Jaimee2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • I have lived in or near Portland for 18 years. After selling my home in 2016, I travel full time internationally and try out different neighborhoods when I’m “at home” in Portland. This is not my first experience living on or near the iconic “NW 23rd Ave” off Burnside in Portland. I love the cool vibe and energy of this part of Portland. Meris’ condo is right near the heart of this — and, something I didn’t know B4 I stayed there, right on the Washington Park trail to the Rose Garden and Wildwood trail! More miles of beautiful forest hiking (Forest Park) than any city in the world — and you just walk out the front door and UR there. Great host, wonderful space, great location, and great choice for a stay in Portland.

    Michael2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Meris' place is wonderfully convenient. The condo is located right on 23rd, which is an extremely popular street for shops, restaurants, light rail, bus stops, etc. I walked a mile to work every day, and there is a bus stop right outside of the condo. As for the kitchen, I had to purchase my own coffee maker, kitchen knife, pots and pans, paper towels, trash bags, and soap as the kitchen was quite minimal. There were pots and pans available, but they were in very poor shape so I elected to purchase better ones. Although the kitchen is quite minimal, there are many delicious restaurants within walking distance if one chooses not to cook. The bedroom is lovely. The king sized bed is very comfy, and between the radiator and the down comforter, I was plenty warm during the Portland winter. I recommend ear plugs, as the bedroom wall sits adjacent to the door entrance, and the radiator can sometimes clank and be loud -- a small price to pay for heavenly warmth. Meris communicated well. She was a good host and great communicator. She often gave plenty of notice prior to realtor showings - which I appreciated. I also appreciated the free laundry room within the building. Overall, great place, convenient location.

    Diana2018-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Meris was a fantastic host, she did a great job of communicating and responding to messages. The place itself is in a very nice location. Downtown is only about a 15-20 minute walk and it's only a block from Washington Park.

    Matt2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed a Meris’ home for the past 3 months. My stay overall was good, but the easiest way to type of this review is a ‘good and not so good’ list. THE GOOD: The location of this home is perfect. It’s walkable to everything you could need! Including some really amazing coffee shops and dozens of bars and restaurants. It’s also within walking distance of 3 grocery stores, which was very nice when I couldn’t use my car. You get downtown living without the downtown noise. The street itself the condo is on is beautiful, quiet, and just a few steps down you get amazing views of the city. The laundry room is one floor below the apartment and is kept very nice and clean. And there is no extra cost for laundry! Meris was always able to answer any questions and quick to help resolve any issues that arose. The building the condo is in is gorgeous, historical, and very well maintained. I met multiple neighbors throughout my stay and everyone was very nice and easy to talk to. THE NOT SO GOOD: I booked this place about a month in advance knowing that I was going to drive 2,500mi across the country and needed a place that I could park my car in. I was not told until a few days before check-in that my car would probably not fit in the garage... Not exactly something I wanted to deal with as I literally moved across the country. THANKFULLY my car just fit (literally, my front bumper was essentially touching the wall and I had maybe an inch to close the garage door), but I was unable to really use my car to get to and from work like I had planned because it was so difficult to get in and out of the garage. The other thing that was not previously mentioned to me before move in, is that the owner has been attempting to sell the apartment for awhile. I tried to be as accommodating as possible, but biweekly showings and/or an open house got very old, very fast. Lastly, do make note. There is not air conditioning in the building. This was fine Feb-April, but we’ve had some pretty hot days in the beginning of this month (May). It wasn’t horrible, but it’s definitely something I’m not used to!

Cozy studio for two right in the heart of beautiful NW portland. Surrounded by restaurants/ bars/ shopping. Five minute walk to the beautiful forest park which homes portlands famous rose garden. Ten minute walk to the MAX train which will take you directly to and from the airport. Also right next to Trader Joe's for all your grocery needs!
The location is very ideal. You can walk to anything you need or would like to see. It also offers a full kitchen if you feel like staying in to cook.
  • Shalei’s place was exactly as advertised. She had so many nice extra touches like night masks, slippers, raincoats, chocolates and beer in the fridge. The place itself was so beautifully decorated and was in an excellent location that was very walkable. Would highly recommend staying here!

    Victoria2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • In my opinion there is no better location to stay in Portland as home base. You can walk to so many restaurants, bars and shopping that you can't try them all. Shalei's place is clean and bed is really comfortable. She left a cold beer in the fridge and easy directions for entry, tv and wifi. I will stay here again if I get back to Portland.

    Liz2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Shalei's apartment -- it was comfortable, and almost everything about the trip was easy! I only write "almost", because parking in the area can be a little difficult. Otherwise, all was clean, rooftop-view, and fresh-flowers grand!

    Vaughan2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Shalei is a wonderful host! She communicated everything very clearly and gave wonderful suggestions for coffee and shops. The apartment is adorable! Very clean and filled with charm. The neighborhood was great! Trader Joe's next door, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Close to Providence Park where there's a MAX station (public transportation was very easy to navigate). Walking to the Pearl district isn't bad - about 20 minutes. I would definitely stay here again!

    Brooke2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is spacious and comfortable. Shalei was easy to work with. This place was nicely located- we were able to walk to Washington park and there were lots of great food options within a half-1 mile walk.

    Katy2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The rental is accurately described and the hostess's nice touches like ponchos for guests was much appreciated. No complaints.

    Philip2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Location is everything and that's what makes this place great. The neighbourhood is absolutely gorgeous and the house itself is beautiful. Only a 15 minute walk downtown and lots of pubs nearby. Do note that parking is an absolute pain! Shalei's apartment is beautifully decorated and the speed with which she responds is awesome. I did find the bed a little uncomfortable, but I'm quite picky when it comes to beds. Other than that, nothing but praise!

    Annika2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Shalei's place for the labour day weekend. Although we didn't get a chance to meet Shalei during our stay she was super friendly through our communications and made us feel very welcomed when we arrived. Her apartment was awesome and just what we needed. It was comfortable, cozy, clean and has so much character. Hands down, one of the best locations I've stayed at for an Airbnb! We drove down from Vancouver to Portland and during our stay did not need to use our car whatsoever. The Pearl District is only 10-15 min away by foot and everything you need is right outside her doorstep - great coffee, bars and shopping. There was one night we even decided to stay in and just went to Trader Joes which is right next door! If you want to explore Portland this is the place to stay. I would highly recommend It.

  • This is my first Airbnb experience, and has exceeded my expectation. I stayed at Chris's place in the December month. There was no problem with the check in process, this involves a code that has to be entered to open the main door of the building and then one can enter directly into the apartment which will be unlocked with keys in the key box on the 1st day. This place is really close (like 3 mins walk, but may take 5 mins due to pedestrian signals) to the Providence park max station and 4 mins walk if you get down using 77 bus. Fred Meyer super market is at the distance of 3 mins walk. The apartment is equipped with the all required utensils like pans, pots, rice cooker, crockery items which I used for my cooking. Chris had stocked a packet of apples as a part of his good gesture. He always responded when asked for any queries. The washing machine was across the hall shared with other apartment users, which was free of cost to use ( most of my friends told that it is chargeable in their Airbnb homes) I faced some minor problems with wifi during the initial days but it got resolved and got good wifi reception till the end. To conclude: I enjoyed my stay at Chris's place and would like to visit again.

    Ganesh2018-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable stay and the apartment is conveniently located. The apartment is on the ground floor with easy access. The laundry is directly across the hall; it was easy to drop laundry in and within a few steps be inside the apartment again. The apartment, building and grounds are clean and well maintained. The hosts were very responsive and quickly answered any questions or concerns. I was working remotely and the workspace was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay!

    Christine And Manuel2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a great location. Was traveling for work and it felt like a home. Would highly recommend!

    John2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Chris's place for close to 4 months while in Portland for a temporary work assignment. The apartment was so close to my office (just a few blocks away!) and conveniently situated to everything I could want or need - restaurants, shopping, entertainment, close proximity to my gym! I didn't even need a vehicle for the entire time I was staying - just grabbed an Uber for longer trips or utilized the convenient Enterprise car rental, located just across the street! Chris has done an incredible job of stocking the apartment with all of the amenities you could need for a stay, both long or short, and the personal touches and cute decor made it truly seem like "home" while I was there! (True story, I was so sad to leave!) Additionally, if any issues arose or if I had questions about the unit, either Chris or the really nice ladies assisting him with managing the unit would get back to me right away with assistance! I really appreciated all of the helpful and welcoming service! For my first ever Airbnb experience, I was completely thrilled - exceeded all expectations!

  • Beautiful condo in a great location- stayed cool even on the hot days, I slept like a dream every night, and the host is top notch. Would definitely recommend.

    Rudolf2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • The condo is very conveniently located to the Providence Park Max station, a short walk into The Pearl District. It's a smaller space, but very functional and we enjoyed having a ground floor entrance through the backdoor. Overall we were pleased with our stay. There were a couple issues with the dishwasher and internet that were eventually resolved with only minor inconvenience. The host was always very responsive. If this is the right size and location for your stay, I would highly recommend it.

While it's a small studio, there is plenty of room for you to relax (and get work done if you have to) - we have couch, a comfy sitting chair, a desk and bench, a smart TV and wifi. The bed is a murphy bed so if you do feel like you need more space, you can put it up. And on either side of the bed is a full bookshelf with more shelving and baskets for clothing, shoes, etc. behind them. We also have bike hooks on the ceiling in case you bring or rent a bike.
We’re located between the Pearl District and NW 23rd – two of the trendiest areas in Portland. Great restaurants, bars and shopping are all close by.
  • I stayed here for a month while I was working in Portland. The location can't be beat and the apartment is small but awesome! Communication with Hannah was great :)

    Michael2016-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Being a first time user, Hannah was a great first host. On top of answering all our questions about her rental, she also helped guide us through the rental process and direct us to the right places when our questions went beyond her scope of AirBnb. The apartment was adorable and in a fantastic location. Super walk-able location and across the street from a streetcar stop.

    Lydia2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you, Hannah! My company booked Hannah's apartment for an employee who was traveling to Portland for a 6 month stint. The employee enjoyed the apartment so much that she chose to stay at Hannah's for another 6 months when we extended her contract. It's in a great location in NW Portland and an easy walk to the Pearl district. Hannah was quick to communicate on any building work, etc and helped make our employee's year long stay a wonderful one!

    Elaine2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah's apartment was great. Located in a nice neighbourhood, 25 minutes walking distance to downtown. The apartment has good ventilation and heat. There were no problems during my stay: the internet connection was fast and Hannah was available everytime I needed something. There was a fire in the building which caused my move out earlier that agrred but that was beyond Hannah's responsability. Thanks a lot!

    Rosario2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed staying at Hannah’s place for over a month. Cute small place, very similar to the photos. My first time living with a Murphy bed- definitely makes a difference once it’s folded up. The area is great! Not too noisy and close enough to all the cool spots in the area.

    Yedidya2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah was a wonderful host and her studio was beautiful. The apartment was in a great location with tons of restaurants and things to do near by. Public transportation is an ease to get to. The studio has everything that anyone could need and the other tenants in the building were very friendly. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here as a guest for any duration of time!

    Joshua2015-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Hannah is a Great Host. She respond's instantly for any queries. One thing I loved about the place is that there is a Street Car just in front on the apartment. Regards, Satishkumar.RC Bangalore city,Karnataka State, INDIA

  • Such an amazing clean tidy spot. Everywhere we needed to go was only a 20 minute ride away. Quiet neighborhood with a convienent store across the street. Will definitely be back!

  • I was in Portland for two nights for work and this was the perfect place to stay! Quiet, safe and walkable.

    Catherine2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with an outstanding coffee shop on the first floor, great food Market across the street and many wonderful restaurants nearby. About 30 min walk to The waterfront, Powell’s bookstore and downtown Portland. Parking is hard and pay. The best lot is at 22nd and Pettygrove. $4-8 for 24 hours. But if you are just staying in that area you don’t need a car. The streetcar is just a short walk away. Apartment is secure and safe and clean.

    Debbie2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodations were very nice and clean. The condo is located near plenty of cafes and restaurants. A nice Whole Foods type grocery store is a next door. The owners have provided soap, shampoo, dish soap, etc. The coffee maker is a Keurig style, but there’s also a French press. All in all, great stay!

    Denise2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The queen bed is definitely not a queen and the sofa bed feels like you’re sleeping on metal bars. Other than three nights of virtually no sleep for the family. It was a decent location

    Lynn2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Prime location, comfortable space, easy access to a coffee shop downstairs, a grocery store across the street, and tons of fabulous restaurants nearby. We are enjoyed our stay here, and look forward to returning.

  • I had a great time at this AirBnb. Tony was great and really helpful in giving me suggestions of things to do. The apartment is clean and there are plenty of outlets, plus clean bathroom and hangers to hang your clothes on. Overall so convenient, you can walk anywhere on the West side of the river.

    Caroline2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great private room on the western edge of Portland, just across from the Timbers stadium and Forest Park! Tony was a super friendly and responsive host, and helped make my first time visit to Portland a fantastic one. Pros: Super clean, stylish apartment with private room. Great location and friendly hosts. Cons: Street noise from Burnside, but earplugs were provided which helped

    Matthew2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tony is awesome!

    Jay Jay2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tony’s place is very charming and his dog, Gary, is a adorable!

    Andrew2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Tony is an excellent host, very proactive with communication. We felt very welcome. The location is great, too.

    Jester2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tony was a great, responsive host and his place was just as charming in person. His cute fluffy aussiedoodle, Gary, made me feel right at home in this chic space! Highly recommend.

    Joyce2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tony greeted me outside before welcoming us into his home. He made things extremely convenient and easy for us to explore a city we've never been to. He provided things for us to do, places for us to see, and restaurants to dine at that really exemplified Portland. This experience felt like I was visiting a friend and he allowed us to stay in his home.

    John2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Tony and Gary are great. Their place is very clean and only a 10 minute walk away from a lot of the nice restaurants and small shops. I was hesitant at first to be somewhere with a new puppy but he was quiet, didn't bark at all, and was just a bundle of energy. No complaints, I would definitely come back again!

My micro-apartment is a new ADU renovated to fit the era of the original building. Right on the border of the Pearl District and Nob Hill neighborhoods, the biggest problem you'll find is what place to check out next! It may be a micro-apartment, but my studio is efficient and has everything you need for someone on the go and ready to explore Portland. Only a couple blocks East is the Pearl District and Brewery Blocks, a few blocks West is the famous NW 21st & NW 23rd.
A recently built and renovated ADU includes stainless steel appliances, new countertops and fixtures, and a stand up shower. With new plumbing, electrical, and a dedicated large water heater, you will never have a problem staying here! Relax on the amazing memory foam queen bed and take in your favorite shows on the 50in brand new 4K HDTV with Cable and Netflix included.
The Pearl District has earned a worldwide reputation for urban renaissance. Diverse, architecturally significant, residential communities thrive here. Galleries rub shoulders with restaurants, shops open to parks, and no one has to squint anymore to see the magic that’s taken hold. Nob Hill is dense with Victorians, boutiques and restaurants line the streets of this neighborhood that’s ideal for leisurely strolls, while the adjoining Forest Park was made for hikes.
  • Tyrin's Portland apartment was perfect. The location was amazing and the apartment itself was clean and welcoming.

    Heidi2018-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • great but small apartment. lack of kitchen appliances, however Tyrin informed me that he would buy extra pots etc. for the next guests.

    Casper2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot for solo travelers or couples. It's basically a studio apartment, and more or less the same room you'd have in a standard hotel. Perfectly good enough for a temporary visitor! The location is where this spot shines, however. There are a large number of fantastic foodie restaurants, coffee shops, bars, music venues, museums, bookstores, etc. all in walking distance. i didnt use a car once, even a ride share, except to and from the airport. Rules on smoking inside and outside the property are pretty strict, so if your time in Portland is a weed smokong trip, this might not be the best spot for you. Nonetheless, i would definitelt stay there again!

    Micco2019-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tyrin’s place was a perfect spot in Portland. It’s comfortable, clean, and has a full kitchen. It’s a very close walk to lots of shops, restaurants, and breweries. If we come back through, we’ll definitely stay here again!

    Katy2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tyrin's place is a great value for money considering it's location/proximity to downtown Portland locations. It's within walking distance to all the cool restaurants/bars/breweries in the Pearl district, and if you don't mind walking some more then other places in the downtown area (such as the waterfront) are easily accessible too. The location and the apartment is ideal for 1-2 people and is well maintained with all basic amenities including a TV with Netflix/Prime etc subscription. Tyrin was a great host and his responses to any questions/concerns are very prompt. I will definitely recommend Tyrin's place to anyone travelling to Portland.

    Soham2019-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location!

    Jeremy2019-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • I would 100% recommend this place to any guests and would definitely revisit when I am back in Portland next! Not only was the price reasonable, Tyrin was very communicative during the process and the check in process was very seamless. The studio itself was also well decorated, very clean and had great utilities! The location is also great. Close walking distance to the main areas (breweries and Blue Star donuts).

    Isabelle2019-08-31T00:00:00Z

Built in 1899, my little ground floor studio is in the heart of Portland, between the city's top shopping and dining streets, NW 23rd and NW 21st. Enjoy a private entrance, private bathroom, a cozy work/eat nook, a kitchen with a gas range, fridge, coffee maker, private Wi-fi and a 42" TV with Netflix.
Located in an estate built in 1899, this 280 square foot studio features a private bath, queenbed, a work/dining nook and Victorian charm. It's on the ground floor reached by a short flight of stairs to a private entrance and it looks out on to a green private yard, a rarity in this neighborhood.
This studio sits between Portland's most fashionable shopping and dining streets, NW 21st and 23rd, affectionately known as "trendy third." You are steps from amazing food and entertainment but tucked away from traffic facing a quiet backyard.
  • The location is excellent. It is walking distance to the Rose Test Garden, the Japanese garden and a lot of restaurants and shops in the Alphabet district. The apartment is small but very comfortable for a single person or a couple.. It was convenient to have parking. I would definitely stay here again.

    Priyanka2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly what we needed for a quick stay in Portland. Not too far from anything (short drive to the Pearl District), and walking distance from Washington Park, many shops, and many places to eat (bakeries, bars, etc.). Must make a stop at Blue Star doughnuts. It is a small studio - great for a couple or two close friends. We did notice a stain on the bed sheets (dirt or dust -- perhaps from another person's suitcase), so I would be mindful of that. Wasn't a major issue at all.

    Emily2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • I needed an overnight stay for a business trip and wanted to be close to Ken's Bakery on 21st. This place fit the bill nicely. The place is cosy and comfortable and Brian was very easy to work with.

    Jeff2016-11-15T00:00:00Z

    Margot2017-04-13T00:00:00Z

Very convenient studio located three blocks from The Pearl District and a few blocks from NW 21st Ave and NW 23rd Ave. Also very close to Good Sam Hospital. Portland Streetcar stops in front of the building. Possible parking space available for an additional fee.
Besides the main room which has a queen bed, reclining leather love seat, and 65” TV, there is a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, oven, and microwave.
There are numerous restaurants and other amenities within walking distance. The Portland Street Car stops right in front of the building. The Portland Pearl District is a short four blocks away.
  • John's place is a great value -- especially given the fantastic location and the inclusion of parking. I was in town for family medical reasons and booked John's place as a backup in case I needed it. I didn't end up using the place, but appreciated John's continued efforts to accommodate my frequently changing plans, his responsiveness to my inquiries and his generosity of spirit. There's a reason that he's a superhost. I look forward to returning strictly for fun, as this would be a great home base for enjoying all that makes Portland special.

    Rod2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Johns place was perfect for short to medium term stay. Located just a short walk from many restaurants, cafes and bars of the Alphabet and Pearl Districts. The local light rail runs right outside. The accommodation was very clean, newly renovated clean. John was easy to communicate with and happy to help in any way. It was also great to have a parking space for our car - as it was convenient and quick to access nature outside of the city with highways close by. We enjoyed our month long stay!

ArtFulLife is a long-term furnished rental situated just 75 feet off NW 23rd, Portland’s iconic neighborhood street. An easy walk to the streetcar (3 blocks), to the Pearl District to downtown, Washington Park, and much much more. It is all best experienced without a car!
Life on a Higher Level ArtFulLife is a main-floor flat in the same charming 1886 home as ArtFulLife and shares its unique art-filled aesthetic. Converted from what were the home’s original parlor rooms, ArtFulLife features a separate bedroom, partitioned off from the living room by a set of French doors. The bedroom window looks out over the building’s front porch to the street. The unit features 10’ ceilings in the bathroom and 9’ ceilings in the other two rooms, original Bay windows, and a gas fireplace believed to be original (however, the gas is shut off). It also has a 1940s kitchenette that has been modernized with Ikea modifications and new appliances. A retro 50s sofa, designer chairs, Mid-Century floor lamp, wooden blinds, and a TV stand that began its life as a library cart round out the eclectic, comfortable furnishings. As for the art, you’ll see it everywhere throughout the flat, and it’s as interesting and unique as the furniture. Reflecting a wide variety of styles and cultures, the collection includes a large painting from Mexico as well as interesting conversation pieces that have caught my eye over the years. The house itself sits in the heart of Portland’s historic Alphabet District and is situated just 50 feet off 23rd Avenue, one of Portland’s iconic shopping streets. Built in 1888 and converted to a duplex 20 years later, it was transformed into a sleeping house in 1940 for the war effort and to support Portland’s shipyards. Today it has nine separate, self-contained units. It’s an active, vibrant place, full of personality, with a clean, colorful décor that’s funky without the funk. If you’re a history buff, you’ll appreciate knowing that the Alphabet District is a unique community named for its alphabetic progression of street names, and was added to the National Register of Historic Districts in 2000. A bastion of urban upstarts, it was home to Portland’s first neighborhood association formed over 40 years ago. It’s also known by the names Nob Hill, or simply Northwest Portland, and the shops and eateries here have always been among the best in the city. In addition, ArtFulLife II is only two blocks from the 23rd and Lovejoy light rail stop, making it an easy ride to/from the airport. You’ll find plenty of great activity options just a short stroll away. At ArtfulLife, you’ll be surrounded by the interesting and unconventional both inside and out. It’s the perfect way to experience one of the most exciting and inspiring cities in the country. If you will have a car let us know before you arrive! NW Portland has very strict parking rules so ask about on site parking for $175 a month when available. Please do not arrive at ArtFulLife with a car without having made arrangements. NW Portland has strict parking (metered during the day and by permit only at night).
ArtFulLife is situated about 75 feet off NW 23rd, Portland iconic shopping and eating street. From this location it is an easy walk to the streetcar (3 blocks away), to the Pearl District (10 blocks away), to downtown (1 mile), Washington Park (less than a mile - up a hill), and much much more. It is all best experienced without a car!
  • Fantastic location walking distance to downtown, Japanese garden, 23rd st shopping etc. The unit was quiet, eclectic and a very pleasant place to stay.

  • Great location. Place was exactly as represented. Very easy check in and check out

    Anne2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Location was excellent, and with Portland public transport, we very easily navigated the entire city without a car. 23rd street offered many shops and restaurants, a Trader Joe's and bars. Other tenants were quiet and we have no issues to report. Thanks Fred!

    Rick2015-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Fred's place was perfect for my quick trip to Portland. The house is gorgeous and in a bustling part of NW. Bamboo sushi around the corner is a fantastic local dinner option. The apartment was clean, well-maintained and had a nice charm. The bed was also incredibly comfy. Fred texted me to make sure I got in OK, which was very thoughtful. I would definitely stay here again!

  • Fred is super responsive. Made check in check out a breeze

    Stephen2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time to stay at Fred's place, and I came back because it worked so well for me before. The apartment is very clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything you might need. The location cannot be better. It's right in the middle of Portland's trendy NW 23rd neighborhood, just a couple blocks from the streetcar, an easy walk to the Pearl District or downtown, and surrounded by restaurants, shops, etc. I was glad it was available so I could come for a second stay. Highly recommended.

  • Great value for this space. It's in a great location near some of Portland's finest eateries. It's walkable to the Max Line and Street Cars, near great restaurants, and is far enough away from the Max Line, Street Cars and restaurants that it's not super loud outside during the evenings. The listing is clean, quiet and thoughtful. The host is responsive, kind and accommodating. Great place to stay and I would definitely stay there again.

    Christopher2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is in a great location convenient to two cool areas Nob Hill and the Pearl District

    Scott2019-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location if you want to check out the rose garden, Japanese garden and Nob Hill restaurants.

    Heather2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is extremely spacious and perfectly set up. Any question you might have is described in just the right manner. There is no clutter and it’s all so tastefully done. The location is top. A grocery is just around the corner so if you want to cook for yourself you can easily do that. The kitchen has everything you’ll need. Of course, there are so many options for dining in the area that you might not need more than a snack. It’s within walking distance of the Japanese gardens and Forest park. Transportation is easy to find, too. I’ll definitely keep this one on my list for next year.

  • A very clean and comfortable place. Plenty of space for 1 or 2 people. Kitchen and bath all updated fixtures. Very convenient location in downtown Portland. Hosts were very friendly and responsive. Would definitely consider booking on a future trip to Portland.

    John2018-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with the host, a great private apartment with everything that you would need. It is walking distance for a lot of things and very convenient location with easy access to trader joe's and plenty of food/drink options nearby. The apartment was very clean and we would definitely stay again.

    Stefanie2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is lovely. Has everything you need (and more!). I felt very safe in the neighborhood as a solo female traveler. Communication was on point and everything was as described. Very walkable to other parts of Portland including the Pearl District and Washington Park. Lots of cute shops/restaurants on NW 23rd and NW 21st as well as a great indie movie theater. The washer/dryer were fabulous to have. And they left me a box fan which I never needed (despite temps being in the 80s most days bc it’s a garden unit, the indoor temperature was perfect). Definitely recommend!

You will feel right at home in my studio apartment. With its comfy queen size bed, full kitchen and adorable dining room with a beautiful view of the tree tops. It’s right next door to a Trader Joe’s and conveniently located blocks from the Providence Park MAX train stop which makes it easy to get anywhere in Portland, and to the airport. You won’t need a car. Also there are lots of dining nightlife and shopping within walking distance. This neighborhood is safe and easy to fall in love with.
In the heart of Portland this building was built in the 30s and has so much character. Most of my apartment has its original fixtures. I’ve done my best to replace things to keep the vintage feel.
My cozy studio is located on the top corner of a three story building. The location is safe and easy to get around. Being close to the the MAX train station you can get anywhere around Portland easily and cheaply. There are so many amazing places to eat and drink! Just a short walk from Portland’s famous ice cream parlor Salt & Straw and Pearl District which holds some of Portland’s most famous restaurants and coffee shops. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the karaoke bars!
  • Kirsten's place was beautiful and located in a great area in Portland! I'd definitely recommend it again!

    Navid2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great location if you like to walk, place is small but comfortable for 2.

    Lilia2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten's place is a sweet, comfortable apartment in a great location in one of Portlands best neighborhoods-The Alphabet District! There are so many fun and interesting places to eat and explore within a few blocks surrounding the apartment, and Trader Joe's is right there for any last minute goodies. We loved the cool fresh air of sleeping with the windows open, and watching the beautiful trees float back and forth in the wind. I would recommend not having a car, as street parking is impacted and metered. But you can walk all the way to the water front from here or take Portlands easy, inexpensive and friendly public transportation. Also, there is no elevator in the building, which might be something to consider if stairs are a problem for you. Kirsten has many thoughtful touches throughout her place that make you feel like your staying with a good friend. We loved the old world experience of a 1930's walk up apartment, and would highly recommend this wonderful place! Thank you Kirsten!

    Susan2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I have spent 2 nights in Kirsten's flat and we've had great time there! Everything was as described and even better than expected. The place has a lot of style and it has everything to cook and relax. The position is great and there are a lot of nice bar and restaurants around. Kirsten was really helpful in giving us advices and she has always answered pretty fast. We absolutely recommend staying at her place!

    Consuelo2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen is a fantastic host! She has such a lovely apartment in an incredible neighbourhood. While parking was tricky, we were able to park for a day at a time and walk everywhere.

    Kayla-Marie2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • I was super excited when I found this place for a weekend visit for a friend’s wedding at the Hoyt Arboretum and it turned out way better than I even expected! The location is great and the studio itself is absolutely perfect. Open, great layout, clean, organized, and spacious. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the Portland area!

    Elizabeth2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Located in such an excellent spot, it really is hard to beat the price + location of Kirsten's studio apartment (especially given that I only booked our nights about three days before we actually stayed there). Just a < 15 minute walk from endless great restaurants + bars + ice cream, we had a lot of fun exploring the neighborhood and being uncomfortably full throughout the entirety of our trip. Furthermore, Kirsten was very nice and accommodating-- there were plenty of towels, welcome goodies, laundry detergent, etc. throughout the apartment that we really appreciated her having for us. We felt very at home. The only downsides of our experience were: 1) We very last minute decided to rent a car for our trip so that we could see some of Portland's farther sites. Parking in the neighborhood proved to be the biggest challenge of the whole trip. It took us more than 15 minutes to find a spot each time we returned from something, and, even then, it's all metered so you have to pay from 9am to 7pm. Would recommend staying somewhere else if you are planning on having a car. Otherwise, it is great for walking through the Northwest District. 2) The apartment is pretty old. While we very much appreciated the charm this brought to the place, the apartment got very hot at night (solved by opening all of the windows + using a fan Kirsten provided us with) and the walls are pretty thin-- making it nearly impossible to avoid hearing neighbors going in and out of their apartments. This wasn't a huge problem since Kirsten lives on the top floor at the very end of a hallway (probably as little movement as possible), but it did wake us up at 6am two of the mornings we were there. Would maybe take that into account if you are a light sleeper. Overall, we had a great experience at Kirsten's place and feel lucky to have found such a great apartment so last minute. Thanks Kirsten!

    Julianna2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten’s apartment is gorgeous. If you love a heritage building with character, this place is for you (keep in mind it’s old, so the floors are creaky and you can occasionally hear the neighbours). The apartment is perfectly situated near a plethora of shops and restaurants (and Trader Joe’s!). We loved all the natural sunlight and sleeping with the windows open at night. Kirsten was a wonderful host and always quick to respond. We appreciated the thoughtful touches and amenities in her place (including chocolates, maps, soaps, etc). Check in was a breeze. We would very happily stay here again on our next trip to Portland.

  • Our stay at Leslie’s could not have been more perfect! She was super responsive before, during, and after our trip and left some fantastic local recommendations. The space itself was beautiful and very nicely decorated/layed out/accommodation. We were in town for a dance competition and were so happy to find that there were enough mirrors/outlets for all 4 of us to get ready each morning. If regionals are ever in Portland again we will definitely be staying again! Also, the location is amazing!!!! Walking distance to all the best shops/blue star donut/fantastic restaurants on 23rd and less than a 10min Lyft to the other side of the water. One of my best AirBnB stays by far!

    Michael2018-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Leslie's place. The location is hard to beat, you are steps from tons of great food, bars, and things to do. The apartment was clean, easy to access, and Leslie even left us a bottle of wine and some beer which was a great way to start our stay. Highly recommend!

    Justin2017-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The outdoor seating area was the best room to hang out in. One night, we had warm rain but stayed outside and dry in the covered seating area. Great coffee, eats and shopping just steps away.

MUST LOVE DOGS! We are offering a private bedroom in our apartment, which is on the 3rd floor of a big house in Nob Hill/Northwest neighborhood. The neighborhood is super walkable, and there are tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, and recreation options close by. We love living here, and we are happy to share our space! Our space will be a great option for you if you love dogs and are looking for an affordable place to stay in the heart of PDX.
Our apartment is neither fancy nor updated, but it is comfortable and cozy and in a super convenient location. It's also relatively quiet for being right in the heart of the city. Our guest room has a private deck with a small table and two chairs. Perfect for summer evenings! We have a very large dog who is vocal at times (usually just upon your arrival - she's very calm and quiet a majority of the time). We do our best to make sure she does not interfere with your stay, and most guests love her. We want you to be happy and comfortable here, and we ask that you only stay here if you are okay with large dogs.
Fantastic location in the Northwest/Nob Hill neighborhood. Within walking distance of many restaurants, bars, cafes, doughnut shops, ice cream shops, etc. 10 minute walk to downtown, Powells' books, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and other Pearl District stops. If you want to get out in nature, Washington Park and Forest Park are also close by, within walking distance.
  • This place is a gem. Close to many amenities and has great hosts. The room and bed were very comfortable and Murphy was such a gentle giant!

  • It's a great place to stay at if you want to explore Portland! We did everything with the city bikes or by foot and had a great time! The hosts have some very good recommendations and were fast to answer any questions that we might have. The little private balcony of the spacious room was our favorite thing! Clean appartment that was decorated really cool.

  • This was my first visit to Portland and I'm so glad I stayed at Jessica's place. I'm a solo traveler and it was perfect for me--spacious room, comfortable bed, clean, wonderful location for me. Plus, Jessica and husband Chris are great hosts--communicating well about arrival and check-in, giving ideas for things to do and places to eat, and just chatting about life. Loved big Murphy the dog. Everything was great here and I would highly recommend to others.

  • What a lovely stay we had at David’s centrally located, comfortable, fascinating, home. Now I want a pachinko machine for my bedroom, too! We found David had prepared for our every need—more than that, he let us in on a fabulous local secret. We saw the event Saturday and it was magical. Thank you!

    Stephanie2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This place is in an amazing location. Right across the street from two great restaurants and near coffee shops. It is right in the heart of 23rd and just a stone throw away from 21st and the pearl. It is just a couple of block from a grocery store as well. Location aside the apartment is just as advertised. Its filled with funky decor and all the amenities you need to have a relaxing vacation. David was an amazing host. He responded immediately to any questions we had. He also stored our luggage after our check out, which allowed us to enjoy our last day to the fullest. My husband and I will be staying here again... WITHOUT a doubt.

  • My stay here was a pleasant surprise. It was my first time staying in a hostel, so I didn’t quite know what to expect. Everybody on the staff was very kind and extremely helpful if you had any questions. The whole building was well taken care of and clean. The location is optimal for adventures around downtown. They also include freshly made bagels every morning! I don’t know how it could get better. Definitely a great place to stay while in Portland.

A perfect home base for exploring downtown Portland! This is a modest studio in an older building, located at the best spot in town. It's an easy walk to Salt n' Straw, Blue Star Donuts, Washington Park (and the Rose Garden) and all that the Pearl district has to offer.
This is a simple studio/1br in the Alphabet district in NW Portland. There is a sleeping space with sitting area, keyboard and guitar, a separate kitchen with cookware + utensils, and a modest bathroom with tub and shower. Please note that this apartment is not high end, but is quite comfortable and offers great access to Portland sights and restaurants.
This is the best location in town! 21st Street has great food and bars, 23rd is the heart of Portland Culture, and Washington Park is just a short walk up hill. The neighborhood is full of coffee shops, bars and shopping.
  • You couldn't ask for a better location for taking advantage of all the Portland has to offer. This apartment is small but complete, comfortable and a great value. The perfect perch for your Portland explorations. Noah was always responsive and helpful, quick to answer questions and work with me to ensure a good stay.

  • Noah was prompt and accommodating. The place was perfect, really comfy one bedroom/studio apartment well located pretty near all the action with some restaurants etc nearby just down the street and metro lines for other parts of town.

  • All around awesome little spot. Does a great job of making you feel at home even though he's gone!

  • Very cute little place!! I loved the old building. Please take note that this is an old building, and there are sounds, but if you go into it expecting this, it's great. Not so noisy that you can't sleep. The bed was very comfortable. Although there was no tv, it was comfortable and cozy. Parking is kind of a hot mess, so plan ahead for that. The location is GREAT for walking around though. Easy to get downtown.

  • This place was great! I'm familiar with the area and knew ahead of time that the location can't be beat, so finding a reasonably priced private space in this neighborhood was like finding a needle in a haystack. Noah was always quick to reply to emails and made some accommodations that turned this stay into exactly what I needed. Thanks Noah!

  • Noah's place is in a great location in Portland. There are dozens of restaurants a short walk away. A movie theater is also close by. Trader Joes is also close by. If you want to travel farther afield, you can use the bike share half a block away or the trolley two blocks away to get around. When I arrived Portland was unseasonably warm and Noah personally set up an additional fan in addition to the ceiling fan.

  • A little expensive, but you're really paying for the location. This studio is in a fun, safe area. Noah was a great host. I stayed her for a month and would recommend it. Conveniently located within walking distance to streetcars, bus stops, bars, Trader Joes, coffee shops...pretty much anything you need.
