  • Great place to stay, thanks.

  • My husband and I loved our stay at Jeff’s place! We spent the weekend in San Francisco for our wedding in City Hall. His place is so close to the hall we could have walked, but it was pouring out so we ended up hailing a cab. The staff was great, had complimentary breakfast each morning and for lunch/dinner short walking distance to cute restaurants and bars in Hayes valley. We’ll be back!

  • We had a fantastic time here in San Francisco. The bedroom was clean and fully equiped. The continental breakfast was simple but very good. We loved staying at this apartement and we would definitely recommend it.

  • We had a great time at the Opera House. The room was a bit smaller than expected but overall pleasant. The breakfast was a nice touch as well as the fresh baked cookies and water, coffee and tea out all day for guests. San Fran. is a fairly walkable city and the location was good. We liked the neighborhood and wished we had a bit more time in the city to explore!

    Courtney2017-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location and good services.

    Henry2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this the last minute and Jeff was so communicative with every part of our overnight at his spot. Because this is a timeshare, it's a hotel-level experience - check-in, parking, continental breakfast. It's wonderful. If you're an opera fan, the San Francisco opera is right next door. It's easy to get to the Castro for the LGBTQ crowd, as well as to the other standard tourist destinations. We would stay there again, for sure.

    Greg2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was super easy- location and parking easy to find (on the street), breakfast was available early, you can walk to most places or take a really cheap Lyft/Uber everywhere, and it was very clean and quiet.

    Denise2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing hotel at a great price through airbnb. All the features of staying in a hotel; concierge, complimentary breakfast, WiFi, local information, luggage storage etc. but all through airbnb. Jeff's communication was always great and fast! Location is central and makes it easy to explore the city.

Relax with an evening drink on the rooftop terrace of this quiet apartment with majestic skyline views. Let the light in from two bay windows, admire monochrome art, and savor the modern charm of mirrors and metallic accents throughout.
Our studio includes parking for a compact, midsize, or entry-level luxury car. If your car doesn't fit (SUVs won't fit) you'll need to use street parking, which is metered, or pay for parking at a nearby garage. Check-in time depends on the day of the week. Absolutely no smoking is permitted in our studio. We also appreciate if guests avoid using strong perfumes/colognes while staying at our studio. This modern studio is located in one of SF's newer buildings. It has light brown floors, brand new furniture, and includes wifi and a 39 inch flat screen TV which streams Roku, Amazon Prime, Netflix and over 60 local channels. In addition to the everyday essentials expected in a modern home (heating, oven, fridge, etc), a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer and a washer/dryer are included for your convenience. Our unit is extremely quiet; excellent for getting a good night's rest on a cozy queen size bed. The building's common areas are monitored around the clock for your security. The entrance to Highway 101 - southbound (to the Peninsula) and northbound (to the East Bay) - is 4 minutes away. In the event 3 guests want to sleep on separate beds, you can use the daybed sofa which is around the same size as a single bed.
The apartment is in the Civic Center area, close to all of the city's nightlife and sights, and just two blocks away from the SF Opera. City Hall and the SF Federal Building are only two blocks away. Three bus routes stop 200m from the front door.

  • Had a great stay at Carlos and Graciela's place. Communication was great, apartment was clean, and they were prompt to deal with small issues that came up.

    Rachel2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect! It’s quiet and cozy. It’s extremely well located and Carlos and Graciela made it super easy for me. They went above and beyond to make me feel at home.

    Guillermo2019-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in Carlos & Graciela's place for one month with my wife and son. This place has really good location to travel in San Francisco and the Bay Area. First, I had some concerns because it is located near Tenderloin. But it is adjacent to Van Ness Avenue, one of main roads in SF. If you choose this place, you do not need to worry about the safety. The symphony tower, the name of the building, has very strong safety devices. Most of all, if you have a compact car, you do not need to pay extra money for parking a car. I really enjoyed my family trip at Carlos & Graciela's place. I strongly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have an experience in San Francisco. Thank you!

  • Wonderful location with a lot of character. Quiet and enjoyable area within walking distance to some fun restaurants and coffee shops.

    Margaret2018-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was an excellent room! A little on the small side for myself, my husband to be and our son, but we made it work. The location was ideal for our City Hall wedding and dinner afterward. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hot coffee and ice water in the lobby was a nice treat, as well as the cookies on the front desk. The continental breakfast in the morning was also nice.

    Jasmin2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't know what to expect coming in other than the location looked good. the room is small but comfortable and clean, the front desk was outstanding. Whenever I had a question they were quick and thorough. the location was also very good. it was located central so any direction you wanted to UBER was convenient and walking was also not too bad. all in all, I was impressed and really enjoyed my stay.

    Juan2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is quaint and cute, part of a timeshare property at an inn. It's very true-to-character in its decor and vibe; however, the walls are also very thin and every time someone closed a door it sounded like a loud thud. I felt safe, amenities were great, and it was clean, but because of the noise issue, I did have trouble sleeping. Even still, it was a great value for the area, and I'd consider staying there again!

    Paige2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience at Inn at the opera. Cheaper prize but the same quality. It includes breakfast. Right next to the civic center. Jeff is very wonderful and considerate to give lots of informations to me!

    Sitong2016-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great location within San Francisco. Many restaurants nearby and close to numerous music venues. The suite is located in a hotel. So check-in was easy like any other hotel. The hotel had nice touches like water, coffee, fresh fruit, and cookies available during the day. We didn't eat at the restaurant in the hotel. The suite itself is dated. The carpets are old and the radiators were literally falling apart during our stay. That being said, the room rate was very reasonable, particularly for the week we visited.

    Robert2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a great find! Jeff's place was in a great area of San Francisco. The room itself was as described, and the facility had very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this place of you're looking for somewhere in downtown SF. What a great deal!

  • Decent hotel, good location, and the most miserably slow check-in process that I have ever had to deal with. Two clerks at the check-in counter when I arrived (at 6:25 PM). I got my room key at 6:53. Each clerk had exactly one couple to check-in when I showed up. I was next in line. Do the math. One clerk left his window after checking in his couple - in about 13 minutes. The other clerk took forever with her couple and then with me. Unreal.

    Eric2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of travelers complain about the sketchiness of this hotel--they must live in a bubble. It's just a city hotel. Use common sense. I advise Lyft-ing/Uber-ing out of the area & not public transit if walking terrifies you. For the price, nice room, clean facilities, quick check-in-in and a very polite bellhop. The only problem I experienced was the rowdiness of other hotel guests, but for the price for this clean/secure room, don't expect the staff to shut up your loud neighbors. Just deal with it.

    Sapna2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Hotel was fine.

    Daniel2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel was nice, clean, and beautiful, but the management left much to be desired. When I checked in, they couldn't find my Aitbnb reservation and said they had to book another with my card. They assured me I would not be charged, and they also told me they normally take a card to hold for incidentals and also charge a $35 resort fee, which they would waive this time because of the inconvenience. I think the fee should be on Airbnb, because it is misleading. When I checked out, they had indeed charged me the resort fee, and I had to wait 10 minutes while they sorted out what to do about it, because no manager was present to approve it. I also got charged independently by the hotel for the entire room in addition to the Airbnb charge, despite being assured they would not charge my card when I first checked in. I called three times to get it sorted out, and each time they put me on hold and hung up after I waited on hold for 5-10 minutes. They then said they'd call me back and never did. When I finally got in touch with someone, they asked me to send them the Airbnb receipt before they would refund me, which then took 10 days. I loved the hotel, but it was not worth the hassle.

  • Hotel Whitcomb is a classic hotel. Conveniently located in the heart of SF on Market st. I would definitely stay here again.

    Chris2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Classy place with cute rooms. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel. It had a really great, old school vibe!

    Ethan2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place near City Hall!

    Sean2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Hotel Whitcomb is an interesting and historic hotel listed on Airbnb.com. Unfortunately the reservation systems between Airbnb and Hotel Whitcomb seem to be inadequate in sharing reservation details, so when I showed up there was no record of my reservation. Also, there was no record either on Airbnb or in the Hotel's system regarding how much I paid for the reservation. This caused a delay of nearly an hour while we worked it out with the front desk. The front desk staff did there best and were the best part of this interaction in that they were providing good customer service through the reservation challenges. In the end I was upgraded to a suite for my trouble which was a nice touch, but the long delay, coupled with the excessive street noise, made the entire experience less than optimal. Until the reservation systems can communicate more effectively between Airbnb and Hotel Whitcomb, I would seek a different place to stay on a future trip to San Francisco.

  • Could not speak more highly of Sonder and staff. My one pain point (lack of coffee) was addressed THE VERY SAME DAY when staff installed state of the art coffee machine just hours later. Beyond thoughtful and highly appreciated by me and fellow guests. The area was also an unexpected bonus! Lots of great food and shopping. I would definitely return to this location :)

  • We’d never been to San Francisco, and this was a great place to be. Hayes Valley is a great neighborhood - probably would have been our favorite even if we weren’t staying there. Room was smallish but very nice and very clean. Common space was good sized and stylish. We arrived a little bit early, and even though we were communicating by text, we were able to check in early within a few minutes. Communication was excellent from the jump. Our room faced the street, and with no A/C the only way to get air was to open the windows. I was actually expecting it to be louder than it was, but there are definitely city noises (sirens, loud cars, etc.) that will wake a light sleeper occasionally. Overall, a really nice experience.

    Chun-Kai2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was a great host for my stay at the Opera. I appreciated her quick responses to my inquiries. The Opera hotel property appears to be a vacation timeshare property operated by Wyndham. This wasn’t my first choice to stay (I booked last minute) but is an acceptable “Plan B”. Unfortunately San Francisco has a lot of old Hotels with tiny rooms (old as in falling apart, not gracefully historical). This is one such property but seems have have basic maintenance to keep it from falling apart like the others. Lastly, I don’t have seasonal allergies but for some reason my eyes kept getting irritated in the room. I don’t know if it was dusty sheets or comforters but I was there for just two nights and had packed work days so I overlooked it. I hope it’s addressed for future travelers. Overall, it’s an acceptable property with a responsive host, so if I had another urgent situation, I’d stay here.

    Sid2019-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience and great stay - would definitely book again. Michelle is wonderful and responds almost immediately and was helpful in every request. The listing was accurate in every detail. The building and unit are nice and cute/quaint and absolutely quiet. The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable with 4 pillows. Bathroom was well equipped with towels and toiletries. The night checkin staff (Bahn(sp?)) was quite helpful and there was complimentary coffee/breakfast. Ubers arrived in 2-3 minutes.

    Eric2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice hotel, good value Important to note: we had a party of 4 and found there was 1 bed and 1 pull out bed. The pull out bed is ample in size and quite comfortable, just be aware if you have need for multiple beds that one of the beds may be a pull out bed

  • Im disappointed that there was separate bathroom. The window was going to the hallway and not outside, creating such bad air quality. This room shouldn’t really qualify for a bedroom. The bed was too big for the room, so there were no extra space for moving around. The towels were new but not washed so there were so much lint on the towels. That was uncomfortable. I also didn’t like that there were now cleaning every day in the room. Overall an average stay. The only good thing was Netflix on the tv and the location.

  • Small but comfortable and very clean room in a great location. Check-in, luggage storage, and amenities are great. The private bathroom is quite nice, but do note that it is located directly across the hall from the room. Overall would highly recommend.

  • Great location! Stylish and welcoming space! Only complaint is the room we got(#6) had little to no air circulation which made for hot/restless sleep this time of year due to high outside temps. Realizing now we could have asked for a different room, but at least now you know you can!

  • I wouldn’t recommend.

    Leah2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish space in a cool neighbourhood. I very much enjoyed my stay. However, I had room #6 which is quite small and has a private bathroom across the hall which wasn't an issue for me but might be for you. The bed was great, which was good because it takes most of the room.

  • Our stay here was phenomenal!! We booked this last minute on our trip to San Fran and could not have had a better experience. The space was beautiful clean and stylish and the location was amazing! I would stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone! As long as you’re fine not having a kitchen and being in a smaller space then it’s perfect! There are great restaurants around the area and transit was easy to use to get to everywhere we wanted to go! Check in and check out were easy!! Overall fantastic experience

Sleep easy on a Black Label Beauty Rest mattress, waking up to the tropical back yard view below the balcony. This bright apartment is full of fun curios and accents, with everything from a globe and rotating compass to a turquoise glass collection.
Everything you want and more! A new unit in San Francisco's hottest neighborhood, Hayes Valley. Stay in a great place in a great location. STAY IN HAYES VALLEY...where all the cool people hang out. The place itself is on a quiet street (to help you get a good night's rest), but the bustling neighborhood is in the heart of the city. Everything is just steps away. In one direction you have Civic Center, including the SF Symphony, SF Opera House, SF War Memorial, City Hall, the Asian Art Museum and the SF Main Library. In the other direction you have the eclectic shops and fun restaurants of Hayes Valley! All of which are less than a five minute walk. BART and MUNI (buses, underground trains & street cars) are all easily accessible and within walking distance, too. My 1-bedroom, 1-bath condo is one of 4 units, located on the first floor (above ground level storage units) of a small, quiet building with a secured entry and intercom. All units are owned and occupied by friendly, considerate, respectful individuals. The unit's interior is the perfect size for 1-2 people. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking at home when you don't feel like going out. The living room has satellite TV, Apple TV, DVD player and a window with a view of the neighborhood. There are plenty of bed and bath linens, as well as a washer/dryer combo, making long stays even easier. There is also a heating unit if you're not used to those foggy San Francisco nights. Maid service is available upon request for an extra charge. The shared garden is accessible to all. Due to SF laws and zonings, there is no smoking allowed in the garden, the unit, or any other part of the building. However long your stay, I will do my best to make you feel at home and to accommodate your needs. Parking is not available, but a parking garage is located right across the street. The garage has daily and monthly rates available. Hayes Vally is great. I've lived here for 10 years and love it. Great places to eat and shop. Biergarten, Smitten Ice Cream, Blue Bottle Coffee, Miette Candy Store, Gant, Steven Allen, SF bike rental and the list goes on. It's such a great neighborhood. So easy to get around. The bus line is a block away and Muni and BART stops are 3 blocks away. If you're up to it, Union Square is a 20 minute walk.
The property is on a quiet road in Hayes Valley. Its one of the trendiest neighborhoods in San Francisco, full of eclectic boutiques and fun cafes and restaurants. Walk the other way to reach many cultural destinations, including the Opera House.
  • The apartment was great and so was Mario! I was there for work and it was a very comfortable situation. When I have to go back to SF, I would definitely reach out to to stay here again.

    Susan2014-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at Mario's three times over the last two years, and I've loved it every time. It's in a great spot, the apartment is beautifully furnished, and Mario is always happy to help. One of the best Airbnbs I've stayed in. Thanks Mario!

    Fabian2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Mario's place! The apartment was spotless and he has great taste in decor. The apartment's location is prime - right next to all the hot spots in Hayes.

    Hayley2014-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is perfect for one or two people. It's so pleasant to be in. The decoration is charming and fun. Everything is modern, well put together and clean. The location is central to all the neighborhoods I need to be in (Mission, Civic Center, Union Square, Hayes Valley). Hayes Valley has A LOT of great food a block away. The bed is SUPER COMFY and the green backyard feels like a little oasis in the middle of the city. I also liked the deep bathtub, short but deep enough to be fun, like a Japanese style tub. A fair number of indigent folks walking around the neighborhood, but none of them bothered me and I felt safe enough on the streets and very safe in the apartment. Mario is a wonderful host. Responsive, friendly and helpful. He brought by a heater because he thought it might be cold (it wasn't). I locked my keys in the apartment and he was cheerful about letting me back in to get them. The key pickup and drop off is easy at a cafe not to far away. I lucked out and got a parking spot in front of the apartment; I left my car there for three days without a ticket since they don't usually check Ivy Street. I will definitely stay here again when I am in the city.

    Beth2014-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this rental highly enough. On a quiet side street in the middle of a fun, happening neighborhood, the apartment is efficient, extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, and looks like a page out of Dwell. Mario is a courteous, responsible host and we felt immediately at home here. One con: street parking is brutal (but there's a garage a block away). Pros: everything else, including proximity to great shopping and restaurants. Even the Sunday street fair on Hayes was relaxed and cool. I can't imagine a more pleasant week in San Francisco.

    Paul2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Mario's place enough. The location is near a bustling, safe part of town but the building itself is quiet, new and clean. There's a quaint backyard area as well as a private patio. I enjoyed soaking in the tub, the bed was incredibly comfortable, communication was perfect and the amenities were ideal. I look forward to staying here again very soon.

    Laura2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Mario's apartment was in the perfect location for exploring San Francisco, the neighborhood has many shops and restaurants with the apartment being just a quick block from everything. Our favorite thing was to grab a morning coffee and walk over to Alamo Square to enjoy a gorgeous morning view. Mario is very detail oriented and everything you may need is ready for your use. The place was extremely clean and comfortable. We thought this was the perfect place to stay!

    Hallie2014-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Mario was the most accommodating and welcoming host I've ever stayed with on AirBnB. He was extremely proactive and in making sure my stay was great and very anticipatory of my needs. He was extremely responsive and was very friendly and warm when we interacted. Best experience I've ever had. Grazie, Mario!

A private room w shared bathroom located in DT San Francisco. Walking distance to Bart Powell St and a short walking distance to Union Square
  • Great location, great price - would stay again!

    Don2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this apartment complex for 3 nights. The room was a bit small but did the job, and the bed was very comfortable. There was no AC but the host provided a fan which was really helpful as it can get a little stuffy. Our room came with a private sink which was really helpful but the bathrooms and showers are shared with the other residents in the apartment. The location was very convenient since lots of restaurants and places were walking distance. There is a parking lot in the same block and it costs 40 dollars for overnight, you won’t find much cheaper parking around the area. Overall, the place was good for getting some sleep to be ready to explore the city.

    Guillermo2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for five days, and it was what I expected for the price. Had some issues with check in, including a clogged sink upon arrival, however it was taken care of immediately by the host. I did however have a window that was stuck open that never got fixed and that is my primary reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5. I didn't mind it so much during the day as it was very hot and there is no AC, but at night it was very difficult to sleep with all the noise from the streets, even with earplugs in. For the price, however, a lot of this was easy to look past as this is probably one of the best locations in the city. It's right down the street from the BART Powell Street station, which is very convenient when arriving and leaving by airport. That alone saved me a lot of time and money. Also, all of SF's best sites are within walking distance. You have to share the toilets and showers with the other guests (which I hardly saw), but there are plenty of them and they were always clean. I never had to wait for a shower or bathroom. Also the bed was comfy and clean.

Located on Market Street, across from the Orpheum Theater, the hotel is a San Francisco sanctuary surrounded by trendy Soma and Hayes Valley restaurants, shops and attractions. You'll enjoy walking, riding the Cable Cars to Fisherman's Wharf, or F-Line to the Theatre District, Yerba Buena Gardens, the Castro District, City Hall, the Moscone Center, Union Square, the Financial District, Chinatown, Golden Gate Bridge, AT&T Park and Ghirardelli Square.
  • The bedroom we stayed at The Hotel Whitcomb was okay. Its good for just the night. The cleanliness was decent but, some areas of the bathroom looked like they used previous used amenities in there like the box of tissue for example. The place was under construction so it made is somewhat difficult to find the place from the picture. Also, they mentioned parking is first come first serve but in reality you have to pay for valet parking which for us was about $65/night or you can drive a few blocks down and try to look for parking. Over all id give this place 2.5 to 3 stars. Service was great but the location, environment was not that good.

  • Pretty good hotel, cheap for the spot. Not luxury or anything but was clean and the company was responsive and helpful for all our questions. If you're looking for a spot to leave your shit and sleep comfy at night, this is good. Don't expect to get lit at the pool or hotel bar or anything

    Ben2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This hotel is located just south of the Tenderloin area, which is the worst crime location in SF. If you don’t mind driving or taking a Lyft to get to your destination I’d say go for it. If you prefer to walk the city I’d say this is not the place for you.

    Kathleen2019-07-07T00:00:00Z

  • Thank you so much for allowing me to stay here! I highly highly recommend this air bnb to anyone. This was a hotel room, that is part of a time-share program. It was in a beautiful historic hotel in a central location in San Francisco. As part of the hotel, a breakfast was included. The hotel also had cold water downstairs. The check in process was flawless (just like checking into a hotel) and the facilities were wonderful and clean. The room had everything I needed for my stay! A coffee maker, ironing board, shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer etc. The bed was comfortable too. The room felt very clean and safe and was a very relaxing place to stay after a long day!

This 498 square foot suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a separate sitting area/kitchenette. Great location & value, highly rated on Trip Advisor & Yelp. A free breakfast buffet in the downstairs restaurant is included. Located next to City Hall, Opera House, and Hayes Valley restaurant district. Great value, so book early! Base price is for Sun-Thurs. Bookings with arrival date beyond 60 days require 2 night minimum stay
Not counting the two bathrooms, there are actually 3 separate rooms. The entry room is about 8 x 10, and includes a small table, two chairs, and the kitchenette. From that room there is a door to the main bedroom (with its bath), and a pair of curtained french doors that close off the other "bedroom," which includes the sofa bed, coffee table, and television in a cabinet that also includes drawers. Until the sofa bed is changed into a bed, the room can serve as a living room. The second bathroom has a door off of that room as well. Both bathrooms are full bathrooms, and about the same size. Each unit has a coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, TV and DVD player, and iPod docking stations. The front desk serves fresh cookies each afternoon around 3pm. A bowl of fresh apples is always out for the guests.

  • We truly loved our stay at Sonder in Hayes Valley -- the room and shared living space was beautifully decorated, and we absolutely loved the charming neighborhood! So many adorable shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance!

  • Great location. Easy check in and check out. Clean and updated nicely. Hayes Valley was a new area to us and we were very pleasantly surprised! Such a cute neighborhood and the Sonder fits right in.

  • Great stay, nice community space, and super clean. Especially love the wine shop next door. They have delicious sandwiches!

  • We are a family of four and we really like the place. Everything was as described. Our room was a bit small, but there is a huge nicely decorated common room which made it up for it. We also liked the location very much. There are lots of little shops, cafes and restaurants in the area. We would stay there again.

This single room with hardwood floors, has a single bed with a flat screen t.v. Free wifi. There is a hair dryer, sink, and at your request, an iron with ironing board is available.
Luz Hotel is located in the neighborhood that borders Tenderloin and Knob Hill. The terms "Tenderloin Heights" and "The Tendernob" refer to the area around the indefinite boundary between the Upper Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill. You'll be at Geary St that's fine. The Tenderloin is more Ellis, Eddy, Golden Gate and Turk streets. Don't worry about it, and really, Geary all the way in both directions isn't bad as it's a pretty crowded street.
  • The hotel is a perfect location for travellers on a budget. Close enough to the attractions but far enough that you are away from the hustle and bustle. Perfect for using public transport to get around. Room was perfect for a single traveller on a budget. Have never done a shared bathroom before but they were spotless and there was never a wait. Would definitely recommend and use again.

  • Good value for SF I guess though wouldn't pay this much for any other city for what it is. Very nice hospitality.

  • Clean room with the most convenient location to get to anywhere in the downtown area. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

  • Nice small hotel with plenty of character. I found everything clean and the bathrobe was super comfortable. The shower was always free when I needed it. The location worked really well for me, and everyone was very helpful.

    Kristjan2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • It’s clean and cozy, not fancy, but better than I expected for a budget hotel. It was quieter than I expected. Shared bathrooms were always clean. The shared shower was fine. It’s right downtown in the Tenderloin, which has pros and cons. If you need to be in that area for a conference or something then this is a good option.

    A.J.2019-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place comes with shared shower and restroom, which I had concerned. However, I had no problem with it. Shared but for one person. Condition was ok. It has everything I needed including shared kitchen, coin laundry and etc. Virgilio (owner) is a very nice guy. It is not a luxury hotel but a perfect place if you are looking for a value lodging with dormitory like environment.

New, high-rise apartment (low floor) located right on the intersection of Market St & 9th St at the center of San Francisco. Right by public transit, across from HQ of Uber, Square etc. Minutes walk to the chic and vibrant Hayes Valley with a plethora of restaurant and coffee shop options. The location is unbeatable. All major amenities are included as part of the unit (see pics). Private room with private bath. It's a new listing so more photos to come. Floor plan included.
The apartment unit is a brand-new, furnished 2BR/2Bath. I’ll be living in one of the 1BR/1Bath and this listing is for the other 1BR/1Bath in the same unit. You'll have access to your own bedroom (door lockable, also comes with an open closet) and a privately accessible bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with basic amenities e.g. shampoos, shower gels, soaps and one bathing towel per guest will be provided. There is also in-room laundry unit and kitchen that is quite modern, both shared. The 2nd floor of the building complex has 24/7 gym, outdoor fireplace and patio, and private working rooms, TV/game room and social lounge. Amenities in the building is superb. The building is pet friendly and has an in-building dog park and dog wash facility. Please read House Manual carefully especially regarding Quiet Hours before booking. There's only one set of keys for guests for the same booking, as the apartment management forbids key cloning. The key will be needed to both unlock the door to the apartment unit as well as locking the door when you leave, as well as needed to access the gym and lounge. You’ll receive Airbnb email instructions on how to pick up the key from a lockbox in the building adjacent to the apartment complex. You’ll be able to pick up the key with your mobile phone or email. Note that key pick up is generally only available before 9pm. IMPORTANT: In order to facilitate key pick up from the lockbox, I’ll need to set you up with it before you check in. So please—in advance—Airbnb message me your mobile phone number (including country code) or personal email I can set it up. You’ll be receiving an 8-digit access code from KeyCafe via either mobile number or email which you will use to pick up the key at the lockbox. The same access code will be used to drop off the key. Note that the key must be dropped off at the same location on the day of the check-out which only opens after 8am. If the key is not returned or late returned to the lockbox for whatever reason, it might impact the next guest, and thus would incur a late key return charge of $39. Lost key would need to be replaced for $150, so do not lose them! Once again, PLEASE NOTE that the key cafe lockbox location closes at 10pm and opens at 8am. We offer key pick-up and drop-off for you after / before hours (for times only during host is in town) for $39 extra service charge, otherwise it’s important that you make plans to pick up and drop off the key on your own.
Literally close to everything the city has to offer.
  • Excellent location, excellent amenities, pictures as described, very clean, and amazing host! Very communicative, kind, and hospitable. Aaron's place exceeded my expectations. The place itself was very clean and the layout was great. Super close to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, etc. Unbeatable location. Aaron's also very communicative and thought of everything. One of the best AirBnB stays, I definitely look forward to coming back here next time I'm in SF!

In downtown Hayes Valley, right at the intersection of Hayes and Octavia, next to Smitten Ice Cream, Blue Bottle Coffee, delicious food and craft cocktails in all directions, lies our spacious modern pad. Perfect central location from which to launch SF explorations, expansive rooftop with view of city hall and Sutro Tower, great new kitchen with gas stove to cook, then nestle into a movie on the couch. Come savor.
Hayes Valley is a chic and hip neighborhood in the center of San Francisco. The main commercial stretch, Hayes Street, teems with upscale boutiques for designer fashions and home decor, plus dessert shops, chill watering holes and a wide array of on-trend restaurants. The close-knit neighborhood features a community garden, a pocket park with art installations, and access to music and theater near the Civic Center. It is the very center of San Francisco.

Our place is in Hayes Valley and walking distance to The Mission, The Castro and Lower Haight. You’ll love it because of the coziness and the location is perfect for transit to just about anywhere in San Francisco you'd want to go. It is a single room with its own private entrance and is good for solo travelers. The room only accommodates 1 guest. If you are looking for a space for 2-4 people, the other room in hour home for rent is listed too (Garden-level Room in Victorian)
The room opens up to the courtyard of a 130 year old Victorian. The room is private and the entrance and exit is through the courtyard. The room has a microwave and fridge for your convenience. Other guests are sometimes in the room on the other side of the courtyard, but other than sharing the bathroom, you will rarely see or hear them.
Some of the best neighborhoods in this city are Hayes Valley, the Mission, and Lower Haight. Fortunately, our house is located at the meeting point of all three, so you have access to some of the best food — both quick eats and sit down spots — cafes, parks, bars, shopping and artwork in the city. We are happy to forward you recommendations on places to go for social time, personal time, and community events.

  • Living in this apartment was a great experience. The apartment was fully stocked and fit 3 people comfortably. There was a rooftop with a barbecue and great view, in-unit washer and dryer, a kitchen with lots of cookware, and lot of closet space. The location is very close to the financial district and with the Bart station not too far away commuting anywhere is a breeze. Additionally, the secure indoor parking spot was a very big perk since parking in San Francisco is difficult to come by and expensive. If you are looking for a cozy place that can incorporate all that you need as well as be a good place to host a few friends this is the place to be.

    Jonathan2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was beautiful and very accurate to the pictures that were posted. Wenlin was fantastic and very easy to reach in case we had any questions. The location was perfect for what we needed and there were plenty of reference books and maps for San Francisco and the neighborhood to help with the exploration. For those of you who have never travel to San Francisco before, nobody has A/C. It's just not usually needed in the Bay area. I just wish the windows opened a bit more for ventilation, but with the use of fans, we were able to get things cooled off fast.

    Joel2015-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was clean and had everything needed to have a comfortable stay. We enjoyed being in the heart of the city. The coffee shop (Philz) just outside the entrance had excellent coffee and Leo that worked at Stoner's cafe made excellent sandwiches.

    Craig2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here and didn't want to leave! Wenlin was the perfect host. She met us for our check-in and gave us a great tour of the apartment and building. She recommended places for us to eat and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment is absolutely amazing. The views are beautiful, the rooms are beautifully and stylishly decorated, the apartment has everything you need to feel right at home. The building is within walking distance of great coffee shops, restaurants, gyms, movie theaters, Walgreens, etc. At night you will need to be careful where you walk, but overall we felt quite safe. Couldn't recommend it more highly! Thank you for a great stay!

  • Wenlin and Patrick are great hosts! They're very nice, communicative, and helped us feel at home at their place. I stayed here during the summer with my roommates and we all loved this apartment. It's clean, comfortable, beautiful, and in a great location.

    Claire2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wenlin was the perfect host, she welcomed us and showed us where to eat even though we arrived late. She even baby proofed the apartment for us! The apartment couldn't be better for two families travelling together with two separate bed and bath rooms and a shared common room with a big kitchen. It was very nice, clean and had everything we needed. The only thing bringing it down was the location, it was close to some sketchy neighbourhoods. But other than that we absolutely recommend it!

    Hanna2014-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • We was lucky to find this gourgeos apartment: very well located and furnished, very confortable ( beds and shower - the most necessary, was perfect, as all the rest of things!) great neighboors, no noise anytime, easy public transportation: Muni and bart station so close. We had a long stay there, because we were studing on Berckeley (45 minutes by muni and bart), and as so as the distance, it was our goal! We had more time to enjoy everything that san frco offers to the tourists, living as a local citizens! And so, all that we need so close: supermarket, restaurants, farmacy, movie theater, and a lovely coffee shop just around the corner! Great wi fi at home, laundry and dryer machine... And so, Patrick and Wenlin. They are the best hostess! As a 5-star-hotel-concierges, they thought about everything that you need for a great stay! Guides, maps, information, everything on time! So, we arrived as a guest and we are leaving with two great friends! We just have to say THANKS for everything!"

  • Carlos' place is amazing. It's clean, comfortable and most importantly really well equipped. I did not have to worry about getting around too. Buses around the area to downtown are fairly frequent. I liked it that they prepped the place well before my arrival with shampoo, soap, dishwashing detergent, cooking oil and i do not have to worry about such essentials upon arrival. A Walgreen's is in the ground level of this building. Overall loved it and would come back to stay.

  • I spent a month in this apartment. It's a great place - beautifully furnished, very clean, quiet, bright (it's a corner apartment, so lots of light!), and easy to make it feel like your own. So nice to have a washer and dryer and parking available if you need it. It's in a pretty central location and quick to get to most places. I was a little nervous being right next to the Tenderloin, and while it's still not my favorite neighborhood, there is a lot to offer and I never felt unsafe walking around. It's close to some great restaurants and theaters. Graciela and Carlos were very prompt in responding to any questions or issues I had and were great to rent from!

    Lariane2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Graciela's studio was clean, new, and very comfortable. I lived here with my partner for four weeks between our move from Denver to the Bay Area. It was a lovely place to call home for a few weeks. Graciela was very accommodating with my check in given that I arrived from Denver with four suitcases before my check in time. While we were there, SF experienced some seriously hot days and she graciously purchased a fan for us during that period. The studio is in the Tenderloin which has a reputation for a reason but I felt safe during the day but rarely ventured off at night when I imagine things get a little seedier (Graciela equipped the tv with Netflix so why would I leave...). Thanks for a great stay, Graciela!

  • I loved the location of this apartment and the quiet of it. I stayed here for over a month and was very happy. Graciela greeted me the first day and explained everything and later attended quickly to the toilet which was running all night about two weeks in to my stay. She was responsive and helpful. I totally recommend this place.

  • I had a wonderful stay. The room was modern and had pretty much everything I needed to settle in. Very safe--you need a key fob to go up the elevator. There was a Peet's coffee and a CVS just across Van Ness, which were both really convenient. I really appreciate Graciela's hospitality!

  • A really convenient, clean, and quiet place in the heart of the city. Plus parking! I'll definitely stay here again.

  • A Nice and well located place. surrounded by good restaurants and best places for breakfast. Room was very tiny but clean and well styled at same time.

    Jose2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for an affordable stay in a good location, this is a good find. Pros: Location is great, and room was clean with some nice amenities like bottled water and USB chargers. Cons: Room is tiny. Is missing some basic amenities like a hook to hang up a wet jacket, or a place to hang anything at all. Room shares a wall with the communal living room, and you can hear folks making tea, going into the fridge, etc. all all times of day & night. Room is also across the hall from the shared bathroom, where sound and smell travel very well into the room.

    Gemma2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • very clean and straight forward

    Jeff2019-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Double check the amenities before you arrive, the listing isn’t up to date.

    Nadia2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Really great location, simple but comfortable room. Easy check-in/check-out. Thank you!

    Ingrid2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great Hayes Valley neighborhood dwelling. Compact, and minimal. Stylish and comfortable. Accessible and convenient. A successful middle-ground between hotel privacy, and personal home comfort.

    Brian2019-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great! Conveniently located and easy to access. The only real downsides were that the room was very small and that the bathroom door was not a real door.

    Sheridan2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The room is tidy and pleasant albeit small. That being said, the response to questions via phone was excellent and kind.

  • great listing

    Leonard2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location is convenient but being SF downtown, in the civic area, there's a fair amount of noise and homelessness. Hotel itself is old but well maintained and clean.

    Delong2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The workers here were nice but the neighborhood and cleanliness of this make it undesirable. Homeless and drug usage in the neighborhood are scary and you wont feel safe walking out the door.

    Josh2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, comfortable, clean and great price. Will stay again.

    Will2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Super cheap, nice room

    Moritz2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Located near popular tourist areas, everything went smoothly.

    Stew2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel was nice for the price. It’s pretty central to a lot of local sites and has some history to the building. The building is old so it can be outdated, and walls seem a little thin.

    Kevin2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The hotel itself can use an upgrade overall (my room didn't have a refrigerator,) it's not cell phone compliant (no usb hub to plug into) and the hair dryer didn't work but the staff was friendly and the sheets were AMAZING!

Come enjoy a night of wonder at this magical Harry Potter getaway! Enjoy the amenities of a brand new apartment building just steps away from Civic Center while nerding out in this muggle friendly Hogwarts set up. The private room sleeps up to 5 people (2 on the bottom full sized bunk, 1 on the top twin bunk, 2 on the air mattress + couch) and has its own dedicated bathroom, shower, and dressing area. You are also welcome to enjoy the gym, business center, and terrace located on the 2nd floor.
The apartment is on the top floor of the Ava building right off of Civic Center near 9th and Market. If you can't tell, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but don't let that intimidate you if you just need a place to stay. In keeping with Airbnb's #weaccept campaign, I welcome all muggles, squibs, wizards, witches, warlocks, elves, goblins, centaurs, mermaids, and even the occasional werewolf. I do not however accommodate trolls of any kind, so be sure and register all of our guests through the platform so they are included in the review process. THE MUGGLES AT THE OFFICE OF SHORT TERM RENTAL REQUIRE I POST THE MESSAGE BELOW (and I may have been forced/hexed/jinxed/confunded into posting it as well): "Possession of a San Francisco Short-Term Residential Registration Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the term of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41A). This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential building, housing, fire, or other code violations."
I'm just a block from Civic Center, only steps away from City Hall, the UN building, the Orpheum Theatre, the Bill Graham Center, and all of the shops, stores, and restaurants on Market Street.
  • The best Airbnb stay I’ve ever had, 100% recommend anyone to stay here

  • An amazing place at an even better value, especially if you're an HP fan. Seriously, this place is a steal and Collin is so nice and hospitable. 10/10 would book again even if his rates went up, because all of the thoughtful touches really make this place special.

    Rita2018-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was pretty much as described, no problems, good value for location. Good stay.

  • Great place

    Joe2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Check-in was easy: Since we didn't have mobile data, we informed Collin that we were coming from the airport. We followed his instructions for using the call box outside the apartment. We didn't get it to work on our first try but thankfully he was in the apartment and responded immediately with instructions via the call box (i.e., to open the door when the box shows 0 and the buzzer sounds). Apartment is nice: My wife and I loved the place. Aside from the clear Harry Potter theme, the unit had some plants, high ceilings (12ft tall?), floor-to-ceiling windows, and a spacious private room. There was some noise but we sleep with white noise on so it didn't really bother us, and we didn't have to make the white noise loud. Collin is an awesome host: He responded to all our messages quickly and was very helpful all throughout. Thanks again, Collin!

  • The apartment is very modern and well equipped - a good base for exploring SF! Collin goes above and beyond with every aspect of being a host - he’s very friendly and accommodating, and he’s recommendations of things to do in the city are absolutely spot on! Probably the best place you can stay at while visiting SF!

    Konrad2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Collin is a super friendly host! He was very responsive and helpful! His place was filled with many nice little touches of Harry Potter, great for fans! A great place to stay for our first trip to the city :)

  • Not a lot of space (only one closet per room with no dressers) and only one fridge for 11 people. Everyone was very friendly and the location is good though. Good way to meet people but not terrific living conditions.
