Welcome to my house in Beautiful Bayview! I am about 15 minutes from the airport and Downtown San Francisco. I’m 2.6 miles from the Chase Center, 3.4 miles from Oracle Park and 3.6 miles from Moscone Center. This room is meant to transport you to a time that no longer exists. You will have a lot of room to breath, relax and get a great night's sleep. The adjacent room may also be occupied by a guest so please be courteous by keeping the noise down.
I welcome people from all countries, backgrounds, and cultures. I am listing my beautiful room on Airbnb. In this city, the rooms are tiny and my house has a lot of space and you can actually breath in this room. You have a lock on the main door, so this is a private space for you. I have hardwood floors throughout my place, so great for those with allergies. I have 1.5 bathrooms that are shared. There is one full bathroom with a shower on the same level as the bedrooms and a small half-bath just past the kitchen. You have access to both bathrooms. In the morning from 5:30 am to 6:30 am, the showers are usually occupied.
This is Bayview, San Francisco. It is not the posh SF neighborhood that you see in movies. This is a diverse neighborhood with people of all races and socio-economic backgrounds. There are homeless people on the streets. Take reasonable precautions to keep yourself safe such as not walking alone at night, using ATMs during the day etc. I would say that holds true for most of the city.
  • Very clean and easy check in made it a smooth stay.

  • The room and house are great, and the host is great with communication and service, but the location and neighborhood is pretty bad. The area around the Airbnb can be pretty loud and rowdy, which if you're comfortable with then this is a great place for the value

  • Very thoughtful amenities. Keisha left a towel, hair and shower products that I would use at home. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Next time I’m in town I will definitely be looking to book her home!

Hey! Make yourself comfortable, and welcome to my home here in the historic Bayview, San Francisco. I live in the master bedroom with my girlfriend Tiffany, and there are 2 private bedrooms available: this room and North (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)
Making sure people have a good time is my mission, so let me know what your mission is in SF and I'll try my best to make recommendations. I enjoy sharing good coffee with my guests, we got french press or espresso. Help yourself to cereal, milk, eggs. Your bathroom has a heated bidet, it's rather amazing. Please let me know if you need more blankets or prefer the thermostat turned up.
Bayview, San Francisco is a neighborhood that represents decades of African-American culture. It features a lot of solid community culture; great people, great music, great community feeling, and obviously great soul/Southern food. Today, it is one of SF’s most diverse districts, with lots of families and professionals from multi-ethnic backgrounds. It’s one of the city’s hidden gems, and I’m happy it’s that way right now, but also looking forward to the future where it evolves.
  • Great place

    Yi Ming2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tiffany was very sweet. It was a pretty good location and easy to uber from this place. The place was very comfy and cozy. It was a a great stay for me and my best friend while we had a mini weekend trip in San Francisco.

    Julie2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Easy communication, nice and quiet neighborhood, enough parking space which is really rare in SF. Both Albert and Tiffany are very nice and we're happy we got to meet them. You can always ask them for tipps and they are glad to help. They even let us check out late which we really appreciated. We used Uber Pool during our stay which was a quick and easy way to come around the city. It's not too far from all the nice districts and touristics attractions. We'd definitely recommend it if you like it casual. :-)

    Leandra2018-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Albert and Tiffany are super friendly and hospitable hosts. They made us feel very comfortable during our stay and their recommendations were spot on. Would definitely come back next time I visit SF!

    Uyen2018-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely would go back to stay there again. So helpful with everything! Great place to stay!

  • The room is very clean and the bed is super comfortable. The host is thoughtful and friendly, proving many useful tips and information. Again thanks for hospitality.

Cozy, private room and bathroom on the bottom floor of a house on a quiet cul-de-sac. Guests enter the room through the garage. A code will be sent prior to arrival. There is also access to a backyard with a turf lawn. The room has a Roku TV, but you would need to bring your own Roku to use it.
Bayview is a historic neighborhood in southeast San Francisco. It’s very diverse both racially/culturally and socio-economically. Some families have been here for a few generations while others are recent transplants working in tech. Bayview is predominantly residential, though 3rd Street runs through the heart of it and is full of small businesses, restaurants, and corner stores.
  • Nice little Apartment. Bus stop is only 5 minutes to walk away. You got a great view over the city when you are going a bit higher on the hill. Janelle was a really nice host, asking many times if anything is good. Was a pleasure to stay there :)

    Philipp2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife. Generally this Airbnb is good. Room is clean and cosy, everything is neat and tidy. Location is good as Uber and Lyft are always available. Janelle the host is very responsive and helpful. But the thing kept haunting us at these 3 nights was really the noise problem, which quite disrupted our sleep, especially after our long haul 12 hours flight. At the first night the refrigerator at the room emitted some machine sound, which was loud enough to wake us up in this room. On the third night, we were waken up by the sound from upstairs. What I can say is that the sound insulation was bad that noise from upstairs could easily transmit to our room. All in all, except the noise issue, this Airbnb is good.

  • The space was extremely clean and nice! I felt comfortable staying there alone. The check in information was super easy.

  • Enjoyed my stay here.

    Jason2018-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Janelle's place is super under-rated. The location has some of the best views of SF! We were in town to check out some local breweries for SF Beer Week and her place was near Speakeasy, Harmonic, & others!

    Marvin2019-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you want to explore SF. Neat and clean, and downtown SF is just a short Lyft away. 5 stars :)

    Kasper2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just perfect: location, communication and little condo. But the best was: Janelle took care in an extraordinary way. Really a super host!

    Maren2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Janelle’s place was in a great location with beautiful views of the city from her street. The check-in was very convenient and everything was clean and modern. The beds were very comfy and overall it was definitely the best experience we’ve had in an Airbnb. Our only complaint is that the floorboards were thin and you could hear people in the apartment above, which wasn’t a huge issue for us as we were getting up early, but could be for guests wanting to sleep in. Thanks Janelle for a great stay!

Joe's room is a tidy 150 square foot bedroom within the Castle Retreat House -- a premier Bayview mansion sitting on a private hillside with spectacular views throughout the property.
The Castle Retreat House sits on a hillside within a real working class neighborhood located in the heart of San Francisco's Bayview District with a large open space full of exotic plants, breathtaking views, and nature trails. Various fruit trees on the estate are visited daily by the Telegraph Hill Parrots. The Castle Retreat House is a private sanctuary 12 minutes from downtown San Francisco, the Mission, Dogpatch, SOMA, or the airport. The Third St. train is located 1 block away, and takes you directly into downtown.
The Bayview District is simply one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the city from being home to San Francisco’s Butcher Industry, housing a naval shipyard, and the longtime home of the 49ers and the Giants at Candlestick Park. Curbed magazine recently ranked the Bayview District as the # 1 up and coming neighborhood in the United States. Nowadays Bayview is going through a modernization process with the goal of revitalizing the entire neighborhood. It's a diverse working class neighborhood where people talk to each other, you don’t see much of that in San Francisco anymore. Quite a few nice places for coffee. My absolute favorite coffee house is Road House coffee company. I love going there. There is a Starbuck's in the Bayview mall. Any of these places are a great place for meetings with plenty of tables and very friendly staff. My most recent favorite hangout to socialize and grab a bite to eat: Butchertown Gourmet, a sandwich place during the day and a wine bar at night. I always see people I know there. Radio Africa Kitchen is an Ethiopian place with yummy food just around the corner. Sam Jordan’s is a place for hanging out and delicious BBQ. For breakfast, Auntie April's Soul Food is a great place; One of my all-time favorites. Continue further into Dogpatch, the Mission, or any other San Francisco neighborhood for even more options to suit your culinary and social appetite. There are several wonderful parks in Bayview, but my favorite is herons head park. It’s a bird-watching jetty that takes you out into the Bay. It has beautiful views of the East Bay and the shipyard. Also, India Basin Park is great too. There’s a new park on the hill called Hilltop Park with a big grassy area and a skateboard park. People go there with their dogs and kids. For the artsy and crafty, The Third Street Village. A little community area where you can rent space for art and small events. It’s open to the community. Wonderful place! The Bayview District is a mecca for local progressive starving artist with many underground studios and exhibits.
  • We had a wonderful time at Paul`s castle. The available amenities were outstanding and the view from the kitchen over the city is spectacular. It`s close to central SF but there is no restaurants or bars near by. Parking and checking in was super convenient, thanks to the keypad locks.

    Lynque2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Castle was a great house! I loved the old character of the main level. It still has some of the original glass in some of the big beautiful picture windows. The two levels are both very comfortable and the kitchens are nice! There's coffee (pre ground, I think I saw a grinder downstairs too), cereal, 2% milk, OJ, Coke, bagels, eggs, and some other basics available during my stay. The house itself and the hill it is on feels very safe. It is close to the T line on 3rd street if thats your thing. I used that and Lyft a couple of times. Lyft Line was inexpensive to get to downtown. There was a regular cleaning staff and everything has signs and labels, making it easy to get around. But none of that was the best part. This house has an /incredible/ view of the bay and the south side of downtown! I spent evenings and a morning sitting in a comfy chair looking out. I even had my camera and took some awesome time-lapse videos! It made my stay better. I'd readily stay again.

Newly renovated bedrooms in a safe, quite and convenient Silver Terrace neighborhood single family house. It is about 15 mins drive to SF downtown and 15 mins to SFO. You have access to private living room and kitchen without stove. Shared bathroom. Your room has a small refrigerator and a full size bed. There are ample of street parking along the block during the daytime.

  • The next "grocery store" is a 25min walk away, and it’s just a Walgreens. So basically a pharmacy – they lack some necessities. To get to the town, you can walk to the nearest bus station, but the host didn’t recommend it because it would be too dangerous and you get mugged. People are running around wearing guns, I had a car do some donuts on the street in front of me, overall not a nice area. The price is outrageous for the room. It is between the bathroom and another room. When the faucet opens on the sink or shower, you couldn’t even have a phone call anymore because it’s so loud. Impossible to sleep. Conversation from the room next door could be heard word by word. During my stay, there was at least one person who didn’t know how to flush the toilet so there was usually a nice surprise in there. The bathroom was always soaking wet. I don’t what the other people did in there, but it involved a lot of water everywhere. Breakfast includes 2 types of cereal and instant coffee. The term breakfast may be an overstatement.

Private, cozy suite with a bedroom, living room, kitchen area, and bathroom. We have just about everything you need to make this your home away from home in our wonderful city.
The private suite is located in a typical San Francisco single-family home. We live upstairs, and you'll be in the downstairs suite. We have two young girls, so you may hear footsteps. It's just a fact of life in a crowded city. The upshot is that they go to bed quite early. The downstairs suite is new -- about a year old. Construction completed in late 2016. You enter through the common main gate just as we do. At that point, one door leads upstairs and the other door leads downstairs. Past the laundry area downstairs (one of two laundry areas), there is another lockable door that grants access into the private suite. We strive to provide as much as we can to make you feel comfortable staying in our home. To that end, in the bedroom, we provide a very firm Beautyrest mattress, new high quality bedding, brand new hotel feel pillows, antique wood nightstands, a solid wood side table, a new bedside touch lamp; in the living room -- there is a new Pottery Barn couch, a TV, a radio stereo system, a solid wood side table, a new mini-ironing board; in the dining area -- new cups, dishes, pots and pans, an electric stove, a coffeemaker, mini-fridge, microwave; in the bathroom -- a new hairdryer, towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap; and finally an eclectic collection of books in your own personal bookcase. The list goes on. If you need to do laundry, just ask. We have a dedicated washer and dryer for guests. We ask that you donate $5.00 per load in our donation jar to offset energy costs and contribute to our daughters' tuition fund. The entire cleaning fee goes directly to a local woman from the neighborhood who cleans the suite between guests to help support her family. When she is unavailable, the fee goes directly to another woman from a nearby neighborhood.
The Bayview is a diverse residential neighborhood, a throwback to what the city looked like several decades ago. Historically known for its large African-American population, people from all walks of life live in the Bayview -- from doctors, lawyers, and teachers to construction workers, custodians, and artists. Unlike other neighborhoods, you'll see all ethnicities represented in the Bayview. We have had guests dock us on stars for location citing the "rough neighborhood," which we feel is unfair. If you are uncomfortable in a historically African-American neighborhood with people from many different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, this is really not the place for you. That said, the sun is particularly strong here. It pushes the infamous fog to the other parts of the city! While mostly residential with a substantial swath of industrial, there are beautiful public parks and some interesting retail businesses that have popped up recently. We can give you recommendations. Just ask!
  • Fantastic apartment, super clean with a very comfortable bed for sleeping on, and an intimate space to relax and catch up on Netflix. Communication from the host was very on point and was always available when you had a question. Very up front with their rules, and this is fantastic and makes a lot of sense as it’s an extension to their family home. Nice touches throughout the apartment, when we return to San Francisco we’ll be sure to book again.

    Michael2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ken's place is very nice and affordable, especially for San Francisco. Check in was easy and communication good. The airbnb is pretty big, bigger than we expected. It is decently clean. The bed was a little small for 2 people, but the matress and pillows were nice. The muni station is less than a 5 minute walk. However it does take 40 minutes approximately to get downtown, we knew this in advance though. There are Ubers and Lyfts available around the airbnb, so that is also a good way of transportation if you don 't have a car. The neighbourhood has some restaurants and a couple small grocerystores, but there a not a ton of options. Overal I would say that the price quality value of Ken's place is excellent.

    Julia2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • So clean! Awesome host and space. Highly recommend.

    Rachael2019-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed a few days but Ken was very helpful in making sure we got to the place ok. Once inside, we had everything we needed.

    Jennifer2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ken is an amazing host. He went above and beyond my expectations. He did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I would highly recommend him as a host and his house was clean, very private and central.

    Linda2017-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful and easily accessible with public transportation. Check in is super easy with a lock box holding the house keys waiting for you upon arrival. The place is in a really quite but still interesting area, close to a few markets and grocery stores. Ken was really nice and quick in responding to our messages with questions or requests. We needed a bottle opener and a pot to boil pasta and he brought them down to us as soon as he could. That being said, there isnt a lot of cook ware or kitchen supplies in the house, but there is access to the shared garden/patio area which was nice for us since we enjoy the occasional cigaret. The only minor issue was that we had to pay to use the washer and dryer, but other then that, the place was great! We really enjoyed it!

    Caroline2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay!

    Lawrence2019-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Place was just as expected. Very cute and extremely clean place. I actually didn’t mind the neighborhood. Typical urban neighborhood and I really felt safe. Only downside was indeed the place had really thin walls and we heard every single step that the children upstairs made and it was pretty much non stop until they went to bed around 10pm and they woke up around 7ish. My husband didn’t mind but I’m a light sleeper so I truly couldn’t get a good nights rest on the first night. Non the less, it was expected so I’m not complaining. Just an observation.

Our mid-century/modern vibe apartment is sunlit & private. You can listen to vinyl & chill out in your space or jump on the public transit a block & a 1/2 away & go anywhere you'd like in the city or farther.
Our lovely mid-century/modern vibe apartment is sunlit & has its own private bathroom with recently remodeled shower. You will be staying in a home that is over 100 years old; with that comes the quirks & original details you might expect from an older home - if you are interested in a sleek, modern, brand new place, our home is probably not for you! However, if you have an affinity for older, vintage pieces & they charm you, this might be your place :) You can listen to vinyl & mellow out in our fun, vintage mid century modern chairs &/or jump on the public transit & be anywhere you'd like in the city! If this is your first airbnb experience we are super happy to be hosting you, however, please make sure to read on & read thoroughly all of the entire description for the specifics staying in our airbnb & EXACTLY where we are located (not near touristy destinations!!) Airbnb is not a hotel & it's good to know how Airbnb works if you are new!) (& if you are an old hat, read on for all the info!) Hi! We'd love for you to stay in our private, light-filled separate apartment with your own bathroom/shower steps inside our butchertown home. In your space there is a mid-century vintage/modern vibe with a small kitchenette including a microwave, mini-fridge, electric kettle, tea, coffee, & oatmeal set up, silverware, mugs, bowls, wine glasses, etc for you to use. There is a super comfortable queen sized bed, with a low profile, japanese style bed frame. Original, charming, paint splattered hardwood flooring is intact & shows its history - we think it's a great accent. There is a sitting area with a record player & lots of eclectic vinyl at the ready &, we have tennis racquets, skateboards, & two older vintage bikes available for a small rental fee ($10 a day or $50 per stay per person; please let us know you would like them in your request. There is a safety deposit we require as well when you get here; inquire for more info :) to enhance your San Francisco stay at our Butchertown home. There are also Ford City Bikes now for rent at the end of our block that you can take & use in the city. We have a park directly across the street, Youngblood-Coleman, with basketball courts, a playground, new tennis courts, the best concrete luge slide in all of San Francisco (!) & soccer fields. There is a rebuilt world class skatepark up the hill as well at Hilltop Park. A 10 minute walk away is Heron's Head Park - a beautiful respite & bird sanctuary & recovering estuary. In our awesome, plant filled, & chiminea ready backyard, which is accessed through the back part of the home which we are renovating (just ask for us to show you through), you are also free to chill out in the sun & have a peek at the Golden Gate Bridge from our deck space. You can also pet our chickens if you are curious! About the neighborhood: we are in Butchertown, aka Outer Dogpatch, part of the Bayview & a working class, transitional neighborhood. This is not a come-to destination but a real San Francisco hood. Dogpatch is our closest neighborhood to hang out in & it is a just a few minutes up the road via car or about 10 minutes via the public transit train. This T line rail is a block & 1/2 from our house & it will connect you to all of SF, not swiftly, but you can get everywhere! It also connects directly to the SF Giants ball park & is minutes away if you are in town for a game! The Muni, BART & cable lines are all able to be connected via this train. Uber & Lyft are also great options to get around & affordable. We have eclectic food & places blocks away in our hood: Flora Grubb is our favorite plant nursery with ritual coffee, Radio Afrika Kitchen, Auntie April's chicken & waffles, Word Cafe, Speakeasy & Laughing Monk breweries & tasting room & more. Right up the road in Dogpatch there are awesome bars, artisan ice cream shops, & fabulous restaurants (Piccino, Chocolate lab, Dogpatch saloon, Serpentine, Neighbor bakehouse, Mr & Mrs miscellaneous, Long branch pizza, La fromagerie, Magnolia brewing...) we would love to point you in the right direction & give you some tips to make your stay great! You can see on our map where these different places are here in the guidebook section of the listing. Here is a great write up on lots of local eats in the hood: (Website hidden by Airbnb) Some things to know: We have 2 cats, & a sweet 35 lb rescue pup; none of which are allowed in your space. The bedroom is on a street with a bus line, so there is street noise & light. There is free street parking & you can usually find a spot right on our block if you are driving or renting a car for your stay - a definite perk in the city! Our neighborhood is absolutely one of the sunniest which we love. It is also a little bit grittier; it's in a bit of flux right now & we love the diversity that affords. This is a working class neighborhood with real San Franciscans & we would love to show you that but you need to know this! Please, PLEASE do your research & look at the map as to where we are located; we cannot change the location of our home but you certainly can do some research about where we are at! We are close to wonderfully great things but we are not near touristy fishermen's wharf; please don't come stay here expecting to be 5 minutes away from there! What we provide: Clean sheets & towels, coffee, tea, dishware & a refrigerator & a microwave. There is normally extra toiletries in the cabinet as well. There is a hair dryer, an iron, & ironing board in the cabinet should you need it. We have hosted many people & sublet our place numerous times to hundreds of happy guests. We are normally always present & available to our guests. We take cues from our guests & adjust accordingly on how social they would like to be. Easy street parking normally within the block & the public transit, the T line, is a block & a 1/2 away.
Our neighborhood is absolutely one of the sunniest which we love. It is also a little bit grittier; it's in transition right now & we love the diversity that affords.

  • This was our first time using Airbnb and we had a great experience staying with Jenifer and Bob. The location is great, the room was very comfortable, and we loved the chickens! Jenifer and Bob have great tips and ideas for seeing the best of San Francisco. They both took the time to help plan the day and tell us their favorite spots. We absolutely loved staying here and will be back in the future!

  • Jenifer & Bob are great hosts. They were very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and liked the atmosphere in their place. Their dog and cats are well behaved. Nevertheless the room and bathroom were kind of wet and you could smell the dampness. Also we wished it would’ve been warmer at night. But all in all we had a very good time there.

    Sophie2019-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jenifer and Bob were wonderful hosts. The room is sizable, comfortable, and stylish. Bob gave great neighborhood recommendations and interesting city history. Their dog Nola was so sweet!

    Deborah2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Bob and Jenifer. Their home was very close to transport and they were very helpful in providing information to get around and what to see. The room was large and thr bed was comfortable. Their dog and cat were really nice and friendly. We played a lot of their old records too - that was a really great thing to be able to do.

  • Nathan’s place was good for my gf and our dogs. He was kind enough let them use his backyard and his place was perfect for us since we were only in the house to sleep.

  • A nice place for me and my girlfriends one night stay in San Fransisco. It had all the necessities and the place is much roomier than it seems in the pictures. Nathan was very responsive and helpful!

  • Host communicated well. Place was bare bones but comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Great location.

  • This suite was perfect for our short trip. It is extremely close to the Muni line that goes past Chase Center, which is very convenient for events at the arena. The hosts were pleasant and responded quickly, check in and out were smooth and easy. Thank you Nathan and Traci!

  • Short walk to the Muni train which takes you into centre. Local bus routes go west of the centre. I always felt safe in the neighbourhood. Close to local convenience store. On site host friendly and willing but language limited conversation. I'd stay there again.

Enjoy your San Francisco stay in the sunny Bayview district. 420 friendly space is on bottom garage level of home. Private entrance, backyard seating, queen bed, microwave, fridge, wifi, bathroom w/shower, free easy street parking, laundry. Close to SFO & T train
A lot of effort was put into making this a serene space for people visiting San Francisco to escape to. Since we are huge music lovers and San Francisco has a rich musical history, we decided to give a nod to rock n roll in the room’s design. Elements include vintage rock posters, a 45” record turned napkin dispenser, and framed one-of-a-kind photographs of musicians. What the room doesn’t include is NOISE:) The yard Is part of the appeal of staying with us. It's got plenty of outdoor seating and room to relax in and lots of sun weather permitting. The space is One large room, rather than a full apartment, since there are convenient amenities but not a full kitchen. You enter through our garage, so when you first step inside, you're in the rustic garage level laundry area, and from there you enter the space itself, which is all yours and completely private. 3 People Maximum but if you have a larger group... We limit the number of people in the guest space to 3 people. IF you have a larger group, our vintage 1963 Shasta trailer located in the backyard is available for an additional $50/per night for up to two people. It has one comfortable 'trailer full' sized bed in it, along with a mini fridge and booth seating. Mention that you want to rent the trailer too when you book with us, and we'll make sure to have it ready for you! The space has A microwave, refrigerator, electric teapot, and coffee maker, a comfortable queen bed, a fold down chaise lounge, an extra rollaway twin bed, a dining area, and access to washer/dryer for your use. For longer term stays...we provide dishes/utensils and whatever else you might need. The bathroom Is small but newer with a really great shower. It's located just outside of your guest room and is your own private bathroom. How many people can it fit? The space is best suited for 2 people, but we can comfortably sleep 3 people. We provide 1 queen bed that is beyond comfortable, a retro inspired Chaise lounge that folds down into a single bed, plus a comfy roll away twin bed if needed. As mentioned above, our vintage 1963 Shasta trailer located in the backyard is available for an additional $50/per night for up to two additional people. What about parking? There is plenty of street parking in our neighborhood and there are no permits required or parking meters. So you can park close, easily, for as long as you want, for free. Just be mindful of street cleaning days, to avoid getting ticketed. We strongly urge all visitors not to leave anything in their car overnight, to prevent break ins. This is advice applies to guests not just in our neighborhood but anywhere in San Francisco.
We love living in the Bayview, and sharing all that it has to offer with friends and visitors alike. But we recognize that our neighborhood isn't for everyone. It is extremely diverse, up-and-coming so rough around the edges, and we are not located in walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. Most guests use Uber or the like to get around rather than walk. The block we live in on is extremely close, we have a neighborhood block club that gets together regularly for social events, and friendly neighbors abound. We LOVE living here. But as a guest-- if you are not comfortable with people of all colors in an urban environment, or if you are looking for a suburb experience--our place is probably not a good fit for you:) The neighborhood... The Bayview in general has great weather compared to other parts of the city, and a very diverse population. In terms of ethnic diversity, in order of population, the Bayview is African American, Latin American, Asian and then Caucasian. If you are uncomfortable being in a neighborhood that is extremely diverse, the Bayview is not the neighborhood for you. The Bayview is special in that nature and industrial mix together to form a unique landscape. In some spots, like Heron’s Head Park, you’ll find amazing Bay views and bird watching. You'll find a lot of long-time residents in the Bayview, along with a growing number of artists and creative types. Though it is more isolated than other neighborhoods, locals love it for its unique vibe and authentic character. Historically touted as a rough neighborhood, the Bayview has come a long way and is considered an ‘up and coming neighborhood’ by many. It’s filled with great places to eat and a growing number of cool local businesses. Two blocks from our house is Super Save, a large but very basic grocery store that has most of what you would want to find in a super market. It’s a far cry from Whole Foods, but the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Businesses.. In the Bayview most businesses are open during the day, but only a few are open at night, so grabbing a bite to eat at night on foot is challenging. But a quick drive will get you to many eating out options at night.
  • The space was perfect for our needs. At the end of long site seeing days we came back to a quiet and comfortable place to relax.

    Kandace2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Tex were really fantastic hosts. The room was so cozy and we loved the record player. The bed was also really comfortable. It was nice to have our own entrance so we could come and go as we please. We would definitely recommend this room to friends and family and we look forward to another visit in the future.

    Merridith2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in San Francisco, the apartment was not a good experience for us (we didn't understand the feedbacks) and entry into the laundry room was a bit creepy. There was a strange smell on arrival, the bathroom was not very clean and the shower mat was not washed. The garden could be more use-friendly. Cutlery were not washed, we found some food like pizza on the knife ... Furthermore, we had only one large towel for two. During our roadtrip SF to Los Angeles (26days and many hotels and airbnb apartments) and this apartment was our worst experience. So sad because SF was an amazing city.

    Pierre2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely basement apartment with a vintage turntable and a beautiful yard! Chris was there to meet us at check in and was very thoughtful and hospitable. It’s an easy walk from there to public transit.

    Matthew2018-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Tex made us feel very welcome. The place was nice and cute. The neighborhood is a little out of the way, but close to the light rail. We walked to the light rail in the morning and took an Uber home so we wouldn't have to spend so much time on public transportation.

    Heather2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! The checkin process is easy, the privacy was great. The tips for places to drink cocktails was great- Makeout Room bar was a good one. Corner store near by is walking distance, which is nice. Also, backyard was very cool, doggos loved it. Overall great stay. Convenient location! Thank you!

  • Our stay here was wonderful! The house was extremely clean and had many amenities. Andrew provided thorough instructions and made our trip so easy!

    Sarah2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew's place was a great location for getting out to see San Francisco and offered great value for us on our trip! We weren't quite sure what to expect in terms of shared amenities, so in case it's useful for other potential guests I'll clarify here: The apartment is comprised of 5 separate AirBnB rooms with a shared kitchen, shared bathroom/toilet and another shared toilet, plus a shared dining room/recreation area. Check-in and out were seamless and the apartment was easy to find and well-located to transport links, as well as free on-street parking.

  • Spacious room with very comfortable large bed. Nathan is a very friendly and flexible host, eager to help. I felt perfectly safe in the area, even though some parts may look a bit less welcome. The restaurants in the immediate vicinity are mostly soulfood or pizza.

Potrero Hill is one of San Francisco's hidden gems. We have great weather, lovely views and feel like a small town within the Big City. Except we have numerous wonderful restaurants and cafes within walking distance. My Guidebook lists many of them and I'll provide you a detailed list in your room.
  • Nancy responded quickly and clearly to our booking request with clear details of directions and helpful tips and dietary requirements. Our GF breakfast was delicious with a thoughtful touch to welcome us of locally baked GF cookies. A comfy bedroom with cupboard space and a lovely kitchen dining area with our own pretty bathroom all made our visit home from home. Nancy is friendly and organised and her good company and advice helped so much to make our first ever USA visit very enjoyable and special.

    Alyson2019-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second stay with Nancy, she is so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Beautiful clean house and two lovely cats. And of course her coffee is awesome! Thank you Nancy, we look forward to staying with you again some time.

    Ben2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Another wonderful stay with Nancy! So many touches made us feel welcome -- the fresh tulips on the bedside table, the delicious fruit compote and bread for our welcome breakfast, the morning newspaper left for us. Nancy is a perfect host -- friendly yet respecting her guests' privacy. She's the best in San Francisco!

    Elizabeth2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a very kind host and provided me with great information to ensure my stay in San Fransisco was enjoyable!

  • Nancy is a very hospitable host who goes out of her way to ensure that your stay will be comfortable. She is a great conversationist and provides great advice on places of interest in SF. Nancy's place is easily accessible by public transport and there are some really nice restaurants that are a stone's throw away too.

    Joseph2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is so lovely and kind and makes you feel incredibly welcome. She provides a great welcome breakfast and coffee. It’s like a home away from home. We enjoyed talking with Nancy throughout our stay. Upon arrival Nancy shows you around and lets you know everything you need to know including great tips on where to go. Nancy has a lovely home and it is very clean. The neighbourhood is nice and felt safe and has some wonderful restaurants just around the corner. We often chose to use Uber to get around as Nancy’s place isn’t far from downtown. Public transport is also easy and close by. Amazing air bnb experience! Highly recommend

    Deividas2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in the Urban Haven for a couple days on a west coast vacation and Nancy's place is one of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen, let alone had a great sleep in! :) We took the bus to her place and it was very, very convenient! The incredible view near the top of the hill the house is on made our ascent (dragging 80lbs of poorly packed luggage behind us,) SO worth it. She had the door open for us before we even reached the foot of her stairs and that warm hospitality was only the tip of the iceberg. In addition to giving us a gorgeous place to stay, she also made us breakfast and provided my husband with the best coffee he had ever tasted. We have since bought a stove top espresso maker, but we've not made nearly a quality product as we enjoyed in her kitchen! I found the house's "rules" (if you can even call them that) to be solely governed by her concern for her neighbors. (Come on, haven't we all had that clueless person living upstairs that stomped around absent-mindedly at all hours? Wouldn't you have appreciated someone like Nancy up there to remind them to be more courteous?!) As apartment dwellers, we were thankful for her consideration! And seriously, that house! Her charm and grace radiate through the whole home! Everything from the artwork to the flower arrangements looked beautiful and polished without being too careful or precious. Seriously, spend your vacation in this tiny piece of paradise. And don't forget to go down to the garden to sip a glass of something great (don't worry, she provides the glassware!) and enjoy the sound of silence so close, but so far above, the bustling city!

Serenity room is a spacious 170 square foot private room within the Castle Retreat House -- a premier Bayview mansion sitting on a private hillside with spectacular views throughout the property.
The Bayview District is simply one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the city from being home to San Francisco’s Butcher Industry, housing a naval shipyard, being the longtime home of the 49ers and the Giants at Candlestick Park. Very small and peaceful. For the artsy and crafty, The Third Street Village --A little community area where you can rent space for art and small events. It’s open to the community. Wonderful place! The Bayview District is a mecca for local progressive starving artist with many underground studios and exhibits.
  • This place truly is a castle! The view is absolutely amazing and the place is very spacious. It's a little out of town and in a less developed neighborhood, but that didn't bother us. We had a car, but also ubered around fairly cheaply and quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

    Gretchen2018-06-09T00:00:00Z

  • The serenity room at the castle was a fine place to stay. Clean, a few food items stocked for guests (cereal, bagels, fruit, etc.), the place was kept up well. Nice views, since it's on the top of a hill. Nice big common areas to hang out in, either with those you're traveling with or with others staying in the castle. Feels almost like a nice hostel with private rooms. The neighborhood isn't great, but it's a reasonable Uber ride to downtown SF and the airport. I wouldn't choose this location if you're looking to walk to restaurants or shops. It does work well as a place to sleep and hang out between other excursions.

Furnished garden studio cottage. The cottage is detached on all sides and is not a shared unit. The studio is furnished with a queen size Tempurpedic bed, bistro table and chairs, loveseat, coffee table, closet/drawer system. The cottage has a small kitchenette equipped with sink, mini fridge, and microwave, but no stove. Washer and Dryer are located in the garage of the main house. 1.5 blocks form 3rd street business corridor T-Embarcadero train, 24, 23, and 44 bus lines.
  • This was a great cottage for my month in SF. Nicole provided answers almost immediately to any questions or concerns I had. I have no complaints!

    Tyler2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio for the extent of my time working. Convenient location to the hospital and T-train. I watch a lot of tv on my Appletv, unfortunately the internet was intermittently unusable or very slow. Parking was also difficult as street was only option if you drive during the day. Laundry was nice, never had any issues. Very close to food stores and restaurants. I enjoyed my stay, was sad to leave.

    Christopher2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • I lived in the cottage for a month. It was clean with enough space for a temporary comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and cozy the sofa was clean as well. Check in was very easy and she gave me some information about the area upon my arrival. The only problem I had was with the parking. I could not park in the driveway as she was working from home and she wanted the driveway clear for her clients, and there are not many other spaces near her place to park. I had to look around every day after work to find a parking spot and sometimes I had to park far away from the cottage, or deal with neighbors complains about taking their spot, even if I parked on the side of the street!

    Zahra2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is really nice and comes as advertised. I had planned to stay here for about 4 months, but due to construction on the tram lines (which is due to end in April, after my stay would end), my commute became a lot longer than I had budgeted for. Because of this and other reasons regarding my work I cancelled my stay after about a month. Nicole was really understanding, accommodating and helpful, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a host.

    Ayser2019-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The space is a backyard apartment with its own bathroom and kitchenette. You enter the backyard through the garage. The cottage itself is nice. I stayed here for a month and didn't have any issues. The host was great with check in and communication. It's a great place for the value. The downsides are that the neighborhood is not a good neighborhood, and the wifi can be spotty or slow.

  • Del's was an amazing space, a lovely private room facing a row of traditional San Francisco houses. It's an easy walk to public transit, making the whole city very accessible. Del and her family are very accommodating, and easy to get along with. There's beautiful kitchen if you like to cook, and a great living space with a similar street view. I have nothing bad to say really, I had a great stay. Thanks Del!

  • Great spot!

    Bailey2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first airbnb stay and the next one has a lot to live up to! Everything was perfect. I stayed for 9 days and Del and her family made me feel very welcome, and suggested shops, sights etc based on my interests. The house is spotlessly clean and my bed was very comfortable, I had brilliant sleep. Del's place is a short walk from the underground train system and it's really easy to get into the City, and also cheap in an Uber if you are feeling like not walking. There are loads of cheap eats and shops nearby for groceries and only 15 minutes in a car from the airport in no traffic. Highly recommended!!

    Claire2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Del's place is in a perfect location to explore the city! She was incredibly generous in sharing suggestions for places to eat and explore. The guest room has a wonderful street view and the bathroom was spacious and pristine. I felt incredibly welcomed and at home! I highly recommend this spot! Could not have been more pleased with my stay!

    Anna2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Super accommodating and warm, Del had an entire binder full of restaurants and activities and she was only a text away if I needed her.

    Kristin2017-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very accurate to the pictures and description. Very clean room and house. Comfy bed. No complaints, this place was great and Del and her husband were very nice to talk to. They even came out to my comedy show which was very cool.

    Emmett2017-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Del and her family are incredibly warm and welcoming. Their home is immaculately kept and I felt at peace coming home after long days of touristing. They live in a fantastic area and despite the offer to use their kitchen I was too tempted (and potentially lazy) by the fab eats around. Del is really lovely and helped me a lot with sights to see, how to get around and of course all the places to eat (her tip for Tartine Manufacturing was 5 ⭐). She has a lovely SF calm style and approach, which really helped after a 13 hour flight. I definitely would recommend Del's place. I can't wait to visit again. Thaaaaanks so much for making me feel at ease and welcoming me home!

After the earthquake of 1906 San Francisco burned to the ground. In the aftermath the city built "earthquake shacks." A few of these 1907 homes remain including this one which I call the "Casa Shipwreck," a home that feels like a journey at sea.
A beautiful 2 bedroom (with loft) historic home in quiet Potrero Hill. This is a shared home, with one other room on Airbnb. Fireplace, garden and new kitchen and bathroom. This is the back bedroom with a full size bed near the kitchen. An easy trip downtown on the 3rd street light rail past the ball park.
What don't I love about Potrero Hill? This quiet neighborhood has mild weather, wonderful neighbors, amazing restaurants and bars (try Plow for breakfast or lunch, Piccino or Serpentine for dinner, Dogpatch Saloon or Bloom's for a drink, Farley's for a coffee). Amazing views of downtown SF from the top of Texas Street (there are often modeling shoots there for this very backdrop).
  • I had booked the place for a month and Raman’s place was as advertised: in a quiet neighborhood, close to the CalTrain station and walkable from local eateries on 18th street. It was clean and I had zero issues during the stay.

  • Inviting, artistic, beautiful space. Very welcoming and respectful of privacy.

    River2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Just as described on the reviews. Great communication, great location, cozy and comfortable . My only suggestion to Raman is to put a lock on the bedroom doors, particularly because there is another room that gets rented out , so people are coming and going .... Overall great stay —highly recommended!

    Julia2018-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for three nights in Raman's house. He opened his house for us, was very friendly and hospitably. As we arrived he was having a gathering with some friends. He invited us to join in and have some food and drinks. We appreciated his invitation.  His house was very unique and cozy. We really liked the atmosphere inside the house, so that we felt as if we were at home. When we arrived was our room ready and clean. Our first experience using airbnb was with Raman and we are honestly very happy and thankful that we had the chance to meet Raman. We certainly recommend to everybody to stay at his lovely home. Thank you Raman for all your attentions and we hope to see you again one day.  Patrick & Olivia

  • Raman has a lovely historic home that is extremely welcoming and cozy. I stayed for three nights in SF for business and Raman's house was the perfect place to stay: close to public transport, safe and quiet neighborhood with a super walkable neighborhood with great eateries close by. I highly recommend Raman and his wonderful hospitality. I will stay with him again when I return to SF.

    Emily2016-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Despite not having the chance to meet Raman face to face during the time of the booking (I was there during the Christmas holidays), he regularly checked on me and I felt as welcome as I ever been as guest. All necessary amenities were provided and I couldn't have asked for more. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there; it is as advertised, a cozy bedroom in a very nice and quiet part of SF.

Enjoy your stay in an area with the best weather San Francisco has to offer, along with a spectacular view of the South Bay! Tons of parking and convenient transportation to downtown. If the room is unavailable on the dates you need, check these other ones in the same house: 1) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/8733261 2) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/36005275 3) https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/36203342
This is a family owned home where my family and I have lived in for almost 30 years. The room is located on the first floor next to another room which also gets rented to airbnb guests. The floor below hosts more airbnb guests. My family and I live on the second floor. The room has a really great view of the South Bay, along with a queen bed, closet, drawer, desk, and chairs.
I grew up in this neighborhood and love it, but it may not be for everybody. It's up-and-coming so may be a little rough in some areas, diverse, and doesn't have many great shops or restaurants. However, if you love diversity and seeing and interacting with people of all colors from different backgrounds and cultures then this is the place for you.
  • Great place. Takes about an hour on public transport to get into San Francisco center. It's at the top of a big hill from the Muni which was very tiring to walk up! Enjoyed our stay. The use of a fridge and washing machine was very convenient.

    Charlotte2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience and we absolutely enjoyed the view from the room. Would definitely come back! I really enjoyed the privacy. Very comfortable stay

    Jennifer2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • The room itself was good. Cleanliness was okay and it looked good. Our trash bin was filled quickly but there were no other bins/trash bags. The small kitchen was a mess and we didn‘t even have bowls. But all in all, if you only come for a place to sleep, this place will be fine for you. You should consider it more as a hotel room than a room in a flat.

    Nils2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great and I had a wonderful stay here. Robert was very nice and addressed issues quickly. They also offer bottled water. The location is good, and there's a bus stop just across the street.

    Jiayi2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Good location to go into downtown San Fran, and close to the airport, but the neighborhood was a little unsettling at night. There was parking on the street but was hard to tell what an actual spot was, make sure to read the street signs!! The apartment space was nice and clean, and so was the bathroom. Really thin walls and floor so could hear people moving around upstairs. But overall, if you need a quick place to crash while in San Fran in a good location, this isn’t a bad option.

    Lauren2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation was really easy to get too from San Fran airport via Bart train and 44 bus which stopped 30 seconds from the door. The accommodation was very secure and Robert was there to meet us and let us in. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and kitchen area which was well stocked with coffee / tea. One down side is that the bathroom / kitchen was shared with 1 other room although the price per night is really reasonable. Also 10 mins walk downhill to T stop which gets you to Downtown in 20-30 mins. Overall great value and experience.

    Nigel2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay I recommend it especially for the price point. Roberts also a chill guy and is highly responsive.

Traveling for work? Stay here in your home away from home in your own comfortable private room and private bathroom. Business ready space. Please note and read these important rules: 1. ONE person only. No guests, no exceptions. 2. Use of bedroom and bathroom only. No use of living room and kitchen. 3. Coffee and desk in your room. You must love dogs because you will be staying with one, but you won't get to interact with her unless you want to. :)
Queen bed, comfortable room with your own desk for work, and bathroom with shower over tub is all yours for your stay.
Neighborhood is 'transitional' and diverse (ethnic). It's the sunniest part of San Francisco! It's a residential neighborhood, so don't expect to walk out the door and find stores. Delivery is easy.
  • Really great place to stay; very nice and clean room & bath. Also good location not far from the city and it's easy to find roadside parking. Host were really friendly.

  • Linda’s place is perfect for that short business trip. She was extremely responsive and the space is aesthetic and stylish whilst being comfortable and accessible. Lyft rides to the city centre cost between 12-15 usd and easy to get. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Andrita2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Linda's home is wonderful! The décor is lovely inside the home, including the bedroom and private bathroom. The best is insanely comfy - even better than my bed at home - and quiet. The check-in was perfectly easy thanks to the outdoor keypad and Linda's detailed instructions. The area, as mentioned, is more residential than anything but it was very easy to Uber to and from the location. I was lucky enough to meet Linda and her adorable dog, who were both very friendly! The price and amenities make this is a great option for solo travelers.

  • Small room, with limited or no space to open a suitcase, open a small backpack, or have access to a writing surface or laptop surface, within the room. A thousand great books are around the house. Raman was generous in letting the customer have the run of the house, use the kitchen, which I didn't need to avail myself of.

Raman was helpful and quick to respond to my questions and planning for my arrival. The room I stayed in had a large collection of books which was pretty awesome to see. It was was my first trip out to San Francisco and Raman had great suggestions of places to check out! My experience was great and I will definitely recommend it to friends in the future.

  • Truly amazing stay at Casa Shipwreck. Raman was an excellent host: gracious, generous, laid back. Quick, clear and thorough communications. The space itself will surely induce jealousy in anyone who is lucky enough to stay at Casa Shipwreck. It is a gem of a home, packed with amazing amenities, super cool decor and artwork and close to everything you could hope for: food, shopping, art, groceries, CalTrain, the waterfront, parks, etc. I simply couldn't recommend this place more highly.

The room is clean and exactly as described with all of the necessary comforts (toiletries, snacks, and a temperpedic bed to boot!). We felt very welcomed by the hosts who provided open communication, assistance getting our bags to the room, and great recommendations (start at Twin Peaks, brunch at Pork Stop, Ruby Sailing, etc). They are a wealth of information and genuinely interested in providing their guests a great experience in SF. Thank you again Frances and Dave, hope to return! Blessings!

Beautiful clean modern home in the warmest and sunniest SF Potrero district with the breathtaking downtown skyline views. We take pride in being an eco-friendly house. We use only non-toxic cleaning products throughout the house and use eco-friendly bedding and furniture.
We offer a stylish bedroom for 1 person with a queen bed located on the main floor of our house that features: - CertiPUR-US certified bed and mattress, 100% organic cotton bedding, down alternative eco pillows/comforter - Spacious closet - Private bathroom with the towels and all bathroom essentials including a hairdryer (not an attached bathroom, but will be yours, will not be shared with anyone). There is a kitchen/dining/living area, a laundry room, and a playroom for our 5 year old on this house level. The living room has a large wall mounted curved TV with xfinity, Netflix and Amazon Prime and a comfortable sofa that you are welcome to use in the evenings. Washer, dryer, iron, refrigerator and light use of kitchen are available upon request (please ask). There is a coffeemaker, a Brita water filter, and an electric teapot in the room with complimentary coffee and tea selection. Our son goes upstairs to prepare for bed around 8:30pm, and you will have the whole floor to yourself when you come back in the evening. Thus, the room is perfect for someone who comes to SF for a day in the office, has a dinner after, and is not back in the house until 8-8:30pm. We have 2 very friendly pets: a dog (pug) and a cat, you may see them in the living room during your stay. Please note that we also have a private studio on the lower house level that may be rented during your stay as well. Our studio guests do not come up to the main house level, however they use the same entrance to the house.
Potrero Hill is one of the sunniest and warmest residential neighborhoods in San Francisco, located on the eastern side of the peninsula and flanked by the San Francisco Bay. It is insulated from the fog and chill of the Pacific Ocean that is typical on the western side of the city. Potrero Hill is known as a "design" district of San Francisco featuring many designer furniture and home improvement stores. It also offers plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. Here's more information and pictures of beautiful the Potrero Hill neighbourhood https://www.streetadvisor.com/potrero-hill-san-francisco-san-francisco-county-california
  • Great location! Comfy space.

  • Outstanding place in a nice neighborhood. Just 25 min walk to the Chase center (where I watched Metallica S&M2).

  • I had a great one-night stay at Milana’s place. The room was clean, bright and well decorated.

    Sarah2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful place with fine touches. I had a view of the neighborhood. Bathroom is super clean and modern. Bed is comfortable and sheets are high end. Tea and coffee available in the room. Host is incredibly kind.

  • Milana’s home was just perfect for our staying! The room is clean and has a private bathroom. We had great early check in, and Milana was very helpful with everything that we needed. She also has a nice dog and cat, and the house located on a perfect neighborhood; nice coffee places around and a short way from the center. Definitely would stay there again! Thank you

  • What a beautiful place to stay while in San Francisco. The house is gorgeous and the room is bright, clean and has thoughtful touches including water, tea and coffee in the room, comfortable linens and USB ports in the bedside lamps. The bathroom is very clean and has beautiful finishes. Milana and her family are lovely and the location is great for events at Chase Center.

    Rebecca2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Milana’s place was really comfortable for a single traveler. The location is on a hill so it might be tough for some who like to walk but central enough to everything. The bed, room and private bathroom was awesome and be sure to not miss out the great view from the balcony.

    Michel2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Milanas house was great. She was extraordinary friendly and helpful and the room was absolutely OK, just as described. It's a 15m Uber ride to the city, but there are some nice Cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. We would definitely book again!

  • If your room is number 1, you will be fine. But if it is 2 or 3, you should be quiet at night since a wall between rooms is not so thick.

  • The place was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place and stay again.

  • Nice host, but bit slow in responding to guest email/communication.

    Jay2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • I only saw Dongmei for a short moment, but she was kind and everything was arranged very well. The room and bathroom were very clean and there were a lot of snacks in the house. Dongmei even brought some home made soy sauce 'tea eggs', they were delicious and it was a very nice gesture. As you can read in the other reviews: you do hear everything from the two other rooms with guests, so bring earplugs. The neighborhood isn't very lively, but two busstops are extremely close by the house.

Come enjoy our large studio apartment in SF's charming and convenient Bayview! You'll enjoy your own private lodging with a romantic hot tub, organic veggie garden with chickens and local art on display. This apartment has a 2 queen beds, fast WiFi for tech visitors, and is in our 1907 Victorian home. Best for 2, but plenty of room for a family/group of 4. We can accommodate a cosy 6 for sleeping with our extra futon. A great space for daytime meetings/workshop or night time romance.
Our house was built in 1907. This ground floor apartment has been tastefully remodeled to make a very comfortable living space. It has a modern yet completely cozy farm house feel. It consists of one very large room (over 900 sq/ft) with a sleeping areas sectioned off. It also has an attractive full bathroom with a clawfoot tub for soaking. There 2 queen sized beds, a dining area, a full kitchen and, working and relaxing spaces. The kitchen has a fridge, a four burner stove, a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker as well as all the pots and pans and tableware you may need for a dinner party. The main bed and day bed have very comfortable queen size mattresses. It's all quite romantic, but you can also sleep an additional two people on the comfortable sunny daybed. You'll have the use of wireless high speed cable internet or can plug in to ethernet port. The apartment is completely separate from our living space so you'll have it all to yourself. Our outdoor spaces are shared and include the backyard bar, the BBQ, the veggie garden and hot tub. Premium beddings and laptop friendly workspace. We invite you to fetch eggs from our chickens and veggies from the huge organic garden if it is the right season for harvesting. Sometime we work from home and you can join us in our co-working space and kitchen upstairs if you want to say hello to our queer/artist/activist collective home . This is good place for traveling for leisure or business with budget in mind. It has a sweet vibe for the romantic types. We love hosting folks for "date nights". Garage currently has motorcycles and tiny car and could hold another bike if you are moto traveler. There is usually plenty street parking for cars and we are near public transportation to airport and downtown. Gated entrance with bike rack spaces. A bit about the folks who live upstairs in our shared home.... We're relaxed, fun, drama-free, sex positive, Bay Area people. We are looking for nice people who need an affordable place to stay. We work in education, tech, health care and the arts. We are all working class people with a need to sleep so our quiet hours are before 8 am and after 10 pm. We have a cat named Annie! She lives up to her name, in that she is little. If you do come upstairs we request you keep the cat upstairs because of allergies. We vacuum daily with a Dyson with an animal Hepa filter. Our backyard chickens are friendly too. We will not interact with our downstairs guests (unless you want us to say hello:) and will be honoring your privacy, but don’t hesitate to ask if you need something.
Bayview is one of the sunniest neighborhoods in SF. It is historically the African American and immigrant neighborhood. A quick walk up La Salle to Hilltop Park will give you a spectacular view of the city. Heron Head point is a bird watcher delight. The cities only Russian bathhouse is a 30 minute walk from our home, Archimedes Banya. There are some great pubs and restaurants nearby. Laughing Monk and Seven Stills make great beer and whiskey. The woman owned winery, Gratta Wine make wine in their garage and it great. New restaurants such as Chef Eskender Aseged's Radio Africa & Kitchen, and the youth run Old Skool Cafe, join an existing group of established restaurants up and down the Third Street corridor, including Sam Jordan's, Frisco Fried, and Las Isletas (nearest and best papusas). The Hunters Point Shipyard is home to the country's largest artist colony, "The Point". As in any city folks should use awareness when walking at night. I know most the the neighbors on my block by name so give a nod or hi as you walk by people on the way to our house. Folks in my neighborhood can be chatty! The Quesada Garden, located on Quesada Avenue and 3rd Street in the heart of the neighborhood, is a landmark community open space on a public right-of-way. It is connected to a showcase community food producing garden (Bridgeview Community Teaching and Learning Garden) by two large murals produced with the community by artists Deidre DeFranceaux, Santie Huckaby, Malik Seneferu, and Heidi Hardin. Flora Grubb is great for morning Ritual Coffee.

  • This bnb is adjacent to a metro station and only a short uber ride into the central part of the city. The surrounding neighborhood is mixed as far as being very nice and being kinda spooky at night mostly. Across the street is a top-notch nursery and coffee place. Parking is plentiful during the day and gets a bit packed at night. You may need to park a block down if it fills up. A few of the nearby streets are poorly lit at night and seem ripe for a car being broken into, so only parking on the lit residential streets is ideal. The bedrooms are a good size for a short stay. They have a desk and two beds plus a closet. The rooms aren't heated, but they have cozy bedding that did the trick. Our window didn't close entirely, but we stuffed one of the complimentary towels into it to keep the cold air out. The walls are pretty barren giving the rooms next to no character, but they're functional. The kitchen is quite nice and spacious with pots and pans and most of the basic things you'd need to cook besides the food. The restroom is quite spacious with a shower that worked very nicely. Overall it was a good stay. A few small changes would make it an excellent one for the price.

The Bayview is a vibrant neighborhood close to public transit. It is one of the more sunny parts of San Francisco. Great brewery in neighborhood!
  • Nate is a communicative and friendly host, and his place is an easy 30 min to downtown San Fran, Pier 39, etc.

  • Nathan and Traci were excellent hosts. They went so far as to clear out their backyard so our pup could have space to run around. They also gave us great tips for how to make the most of our short stay in SF. Finding parking on their block was tricky at times, but we never had to venture farther than 2 blocks to find a space. We recommend staying here for sure!

This is a private bedroom and bathroom in our house with a separate entrance from the street.
Sunny Potrero Hill is known to have some of the best weather in the city! From our place it's a 10 minute walk uphill to Potrero Hill restaurants and a 10 minute walk downhill to the great taquerias in the Mission district.
  • The listing is just as described. Max is a great communicator and let us know we could check-in early--which was very convenient. It was located close to people we were visiting so very convenient. We ate at Sally's for breakfast--it is straight up. . .and then down. . .the street--and really perfect breakfast-- Close to the Whole Foods. Ubering was a perfect way to get around and not have to worry about parking.

  • Max is really nice and the room is super clean and beautiful, I wish I could come back soon!

    Xiangting (Alice)2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • When I was booking the room Max got back to me very quickly, which I appreciated, especially since my booking was rather last-minute. He was a very good communicator - polite and clear. The room is great, and feels separate from the rest of the house. It is spacious enough for two people, very clean and tidy, and had great lighting features. The bathroom is modern and sleek, with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. It's also a very stylishly designed room. In terms of location it is also very good. We were visiting to hang out with a friend in the mission district, which is a short walk from the apartment. If you find walking difficult you might want to take into account that it is on a pretty steep hill, though this wasn't a problem for us. There seemed to be some great spots within a stone's throw of the apartment; it is also about a 20/30 min walk from mission favorites like Philz Coffee, and then also the 24th St BART station. All in all a well-located, comfortable, stylish room that was easy to book. Many thanks!

    Richard2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Max’s place was in a scenic and quiet neighborhood with a nice view of the city. There are a few small markets within walking distance. Place was tidy and easy to check in. Communication was quick and helpful.

  • A really nice, cozy room that was very well decorated. I really liked it from the pictures and it looks the same in reality. It has an attached bathroom. It is separated from the main house - so, we had our privacy. It is a mile from the 24th street BART station and convenient. Would highly recommend.

This spacious & artistic bedroom in a tri-level loft has a private entrance and en-suite bathroom. The 3rd floor windows look out on "Dogpatch," an urban neighborhood with mixed industrial/residential use, just 2.5 blocks from Muni train to downtown.
This space is creatively decorated with artistic touches such as original art, an easel with art supplies, and colorful details. The floors are hardwood eucalyptus, and the bathroom tile is eco-friendly recycled glass. The bedroom is detailed with guests' comfort in mind, including a comfortable queen-sized bed with Keetsa mattress, blackout curtains, luxury linens, towels, bathrobes, and toiletries. There is a luggage rack for your suitcase, an open wardrobe with hangers for your hanging clothes, and a desk for your use. It comfortably accommodates one or two people.
Dogpatch is a mixed residential and industrial neighborhood with a fascinating history. We live 1 block from Minnesota Street Project - a big art gallery space with 12 galleries. A few blocks East is an old shipyard along the waterfront with an urban patina. One block North is a cute historic main street with restaurants and shops. Dogpatch is often noted in the media as an "up and coming" neighborhood in San Francisco.
  • amazing accommodation in SF! Kerry is very welcoming, feel grateful for being hosted by her!

    Guy2019-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding in every way!

    Drake2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry was welcoming from the very beginning, answering all of my questions about the neighbourhood and the city promptly. I'd never been to San Francisco before but, based on all the information she shared with me about the city, found it easy enough to set out on my own and discover it. Her restaurant recommendations (Smokestack, in particular) were spot on. As for the room, it was almost better than a hotel. The bed was comfy and there were plenty of linens in the bathroom. It was also spotless and spacious. It's also just a three minute walk from the LRT station, so a trip downtown only takes about 15 minutes. I've tried (Hidden by Airbnb) before, but this was my first experience on Airbnb--and I'm happy to say it was a great one!

    Nadia2015-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry’s unit is a real gem. It was spacious and spotlessly clean. It was also very quiet and I found the neighborhood to be very interesting.

    John2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kerry was a great host, and the room is really nice, the bathroom too! This place is so comfortable! Also Kerry printed us some good advices about restaurants, bars and stores in her district and neighborhood which were very interesting. We really enjoyed our stay at Kerry's apartment! I recommend!!!

    Thomas2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • I had such an awesome experience staying in this room. With the rainy weather and moving from place to place, it was a respite for me. Every part of the room was really charming and clean, it even has a fireplace! Having a private bathroom is everything to me and it had all the toiletries I needed. Kerry provided a detailed list of local spots to check out in Dogpatch and I had a good time exploring the area because of it. Everything was really easy from checking in to checking out and I loved the neighborhood.

    Janice2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • beautiful artistic place to stay.

    Yeawon2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay and Kerry & Mark are awesome hosts! They have serious respect for your privacy, but make you feel very welcome and are always happy to help with anything you might need. The room (or suite, really) is beautifully decorated and quite large, a lot bigger than I expected from the photos - and from the price, which in my opinion is very low for such a nice place. Thanks for a great stay guys!

Sequoia room is a spacious 225 square foot private room within the Castle Retreat House -- a premier Bayview mansion sitting on a private hillside with spectacular views throughout the property.
The Bayview District is simply one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the city from being home to San Francisco’s Butcher Industry, housing a naval shipyard, being the longtime home of the 49ers and the Giants at Candlestick Park. Curbed magazine recently ranked the Bayview District as the # 1 up and coming neighborhood in the United States. Nowadays Bayview is going through a modernization process with the goal of revitalizing the entire neighborhood. It's a diverse working class neighborhood where people talk to each other; You do not see much of that in San Francisco anymore. Quite a few nice places for coffee. My absolute favorite coffee house is Road House coffee company. I love going there. Very small and peaceful; Or there is Starbuck's in the Bayview Plaza Mall. Sam Jordan’s is a place for hanging out, and delicious BBQ. The Bayview is a mecca for local progressive starving artist with many underground studios and exhibits.

  • We stayed at Paul's place for one night and the bed was SO INCREDIBLE. The amenities are also amazing, as he has a pool table and an air hockey table in the place. The living room/kitchen/dining room areas were also spacious and comfortable. The TV in our room wasn't working, so we just used the the TV out in the living room. The check-in process was simple with the instructions. Paul also provides parking for $10 per night, so we didn't have to look around for parking spaces at night when we arrived. The views from our room and the living room were also incredible.

  • Lovely place. I know the neighborhood well, so don't mind the 'ghettofabulousness' of it. Great house - easy to come and go. Free parking = awesome. Clean rooms, clean bathroom and clean kitchen. Would recommend to friends coming into town without a doubt!

Hey! Make yourself comfortable, and welcome to my home here in the historic Bayview, San Francisco. I live in the master bedroom with my girlfriend Tiffany, and there are 2 private bedrooms available: North (this listing) and South (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)
  • I had a great time, great people and an awesome stay. Definitely looking forward to my next time there.

  • Albert and Tiffany are the best hosts! Welcoming and with an abundance of tips for your time in San Francisco! Getting to the city centre requires just one tram or you could use Uber! Place is very clean, very organized, very cozy.

  • This was an awesome Airbnb. This was our first stay in a private home so we were a little nervous. But Albert and Tiff were great great hosts and our room was wonderful. I would highly recommend their place and will use it again when booking my next trip to SF.

  • Everything was nice and it was all like in the announcement. We were all-out to use the whole kitchen- it was great.

  • Had a great stay. The host was very prompt on the communications when I had a question related to timing and check-in. Not far at all from downtown, but in a quiet neighborhood. I was able to UberPool to Union Square for roughly $6-$8 each way. Mission District is even closer. House was extremely clean. Bathroom even had a high tech toilet you'd only see in Japan

  • Staying at Albert & Tiffany's place is like coming home. Their house is in a great location for visiting San Francisco, their suggestions of local attractions are great, and there's always delicious food and great conversation over a meal if you join them!
