Pilsen is a lovely neighborhood "Rich in Latino culture, Pilsen is a neighborhood that overflows with music, art, culinary tradition, and nightlife. It’s home to award-winning restaurants, iconic music venues, and sensational murals as far as the eye can see. Maybe that’s why it was named one of the “12 Coolest Neighborhoods Around the World” by Forbes." "The first thing you’ll notice about Pilsen is the colorful street art. The buildings are covered in massive paintings that hint at the thriving arts community that exists here. The neighborhood’s monthly 2nd Fridays Gallery Night, where galleries and artist studios open their doors free of charge, gives you an opportunity to discover emerging local artists." "Pilsen is also a haven for offbeat boutiques, hip eateries, and cool music venues standing alongside bodegas, panaderias, and family-owned restaurants serving authentic Mexican cuisine. Don’t miss the National Museum of Mexican Art while you’re there. This free museum immerses visitors in Mexican culture through a stunning collection of textiles, folk art, prints, photos, and more."

  • Estpehany was a fantastic host. The place was stylishly decorated and we had a great time during our stay. It was a perfect experience!

    William2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time, the room was comfortable, clean and in a good location. Easy to walk to lots of great places. Estephany was a very nice and hospitable host.

  • Unfortunately I didn´t get to meet Estephany but the place was great. I only stayed for a quick night during an airport layover. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. I enjoyed exploring the neighborhood. I went to the Mexican Museum of Art and ate delicious tacos and ice cream. Much better than hanging out in the airport!

    Marjorie2019-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Estephany's place is in a good location, very nicely decorated and affordable, but the room is tiny (our luggage didn't even fit in there) and the apartment could be cleaner. Estephany was nice, check in/out was a breeze. There are some very good taquerias near the apartment!

    Kaja2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Cute apartment with an awesome neighborhood.

    Luise2019-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • We visited Chicago for a weekend getaway and Estephany's place was the perfect landing pad. It was literally around the corner from the venue where we saw a show (Thalia Hall) and is located in a very cool neighborhood with some great spots to eat, as well as easy access to public transportation to travel into the heart of the city. The space was stylish and charming, and Estephany was a lovely and accommodating host! We would definitely stay there again.

    Jacqui2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Estephany’s home was such a pleasant surprise to arrive to. Loved the style of her home and felt super comfortable staying in it. Located very close to the city and has many local restaurants around the area. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again !

  • We stayed at john's place for two nights and it was a great. John is very very helpful, he showed us map and helped us plan our Chicago visit. Place was clean and comfortable. We were quit worried about neighborhood as we heard stories about Chicago, but his place is safe and you can park on street and you are fine. My place is a great starting point to explore Chicago.
If you are here for a convention, McCormick is just a one bus ride away. Looking to sightsee, fortunately enough I live doorsteps away from a public transit bus that runs 24/7 in and out of downtown.

There's plenty of popular restaurants within close walking distance, coffee shops, juice bars, book shops , art studios and other local hotspots! The best taco places in town are also within a couple blocks away! Luggage drop-offs are welcome! Steps from CTA #60 bus stop, #9 Ashland bus, short walking distance from the (L) pink line train station (18th street stop), and a 15-min drive to downtown. Little Italy is located less than a mile north and chinatown less than a mile east!
1 of 3 bedrooms (my roommate (my male cousin) and I occupy the other 2) in a newly renovated condo-style apartment with all new appliances! I will provide fresh towels, linens, shampoo and soap. Your room will have a cozy queen-sized bed. I have in-unit washer/dryer available for the guest(s) to use. As mentioned, the bathroom is shared. I ask the guest(s) to take care of the space as their own. :) We also provide free coffee for our guests :)
The apartment is located in the heart of Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago. It is a very culturally-rich neighborhood and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!
  • Lil and her cousin were wonderful! They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at home during my entire stay. I arrived in the evening and Lil was waiting by the door with a warm smile. She helped me carry my suitcase upstairs and walked with me to a nearby grocery stored once I was settled. She cooked dinner and invited me to eat with her. She was always in a good mood and willing to help. She is finishing her PharmD and I am a PharmD studying to get licensed so we had plenty to talk about. We also watched movies together before going to bed. The apartment is perfect! All newly renovated and tastefully decorated. Everything is new, the room is comfortable and has plenty of closet space. The bed sheets were super soft and comfy. The apartment is a 10 minute walk to the pink line 18th station, which is a 8 minute ride to the loop. There is also a bus to downtown that stops a few steps away from the apartment. I left feeling like I made a new friend in Chicago :-)

    Benjamin2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean and warm. They were helpful and gave us tips on where to go visit and eat. The place is close by public transit. It was easy for us to get to downtown either with the bus or even uber/lyft. Lots of food options that are walkable (even a Giordano's!) Lil was very responsive.

    Alyssa2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed a week at Jerick's place for a converntion in the McCormick. The location is great for that, a few minutes walk and then a direct line. Checkin was easy, Jerick gave me the code to the lock and I could let myself in. Apartment was clean, nicely setup and my room was exactly as in the pictures. Jerick was kind enough to give me a quick tour with his car while he dropped me of downtown. All in all a I had great stay.

    Edo2019-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jerick was a great host! I only stayed for a few days but I had a great experience and would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Located in Pilsen, a flourishing part of town, you can find anything from nightlife to delish restaurants. • I 100% recommend staying at Siul's place. I had there everything I needed and his place is located in nice neighborhood. He is a great host and I hope we can meet again soon either in Chicago or maybe next time in Cracow 😉

    Sandra2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Siul and his girlfriend are very good host. I felt me very well at his flat. The neighborhood is top!!! Recommend highly!

    Nurkan2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Siul and Jann is an interesting and sweet couple. I like their personalities and the vibe they created for the place. Siul is a guitarist for a band and a teacher. I luckily heard his new songs when staying two nights their. Their apt is old but clean, neat and located in a good location, near downtown Chicago with nice neighborhoods. I got a lot of help from Jann- a young and stylish lady, she told me many things about the neighborhood and Chicago. We went out and enjoyed Chicago popcorn, deep dish when talking about career and dream. I got more than I paid, a great hospitality and a friendship. Thanks for being a great host.

The neighborhood of Pilsen is very special! It was skipped over by the great Chicago fire and is an Historic District. Most of the buildings are over 150 years old and European in scale. The architecture is primarily Czech with lots of detail. Today Pilsen is diverse and home to thriving and colorful artistic and Mexican communities. There are great vintage, record, book, and import stores as well as many bohemian cafes where artist come from their studios to talk about art and life, etc. There is an excellent choice of very authentic Mexican restaurants and bakeries, as well as other global cuisines such as a Creperie, Italian and Chinese restaurants, and wonderful Brunch options, etc. Nearby in Harrison Park there is the internationally renown National Museum of Mexican Art which is very unique, sophisticated and fun! They host many exciting events throughout the year. There is also an organic juice bar!
  • Donald and Colby own an apartment gallery in Pilsen. It is very cool and located on a great part of Chicago. You get to stay in rooms in the gallery. The hosts are fabulous and super knowledgeable. The cost is reasonable and close to public transport. What else can I say? Highly recommended!!!

    Fabio2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Donald was a great host. He’s very welcoming. He was very understanding when my plans changed and he went out of his way to accommodate me. If you’re in Chicago then Donald’s place is a great option.

    Shaun2018-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding place to stay. Colby did such a great job at making us feel at home. My husband and I were doing an apartment search in the city, which was very stressful and our stay made such a difference for us. Delicious breakfast was included and parking was a huge plus.

  • Great stay! Awesome place and thoughtful hosts.

    Ray2018-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most pleasant air bnb I have ever stayed at. Donald and his daughter Colby are very warm and welcoming people, they make you feel like you’re part of the family. I was treated to a delicious french toast breakfast with coffee and then to an afternoon tea, which made the stay extra special. Both Donald and Colby are excellent hosts and interesting people to sit down and have a conversation with. They are both very creative and involved in many interesting projects. Their home is beautiful and filled with beautiful art. It has a very positive and calming vibe. My room was amazing, again with beautiful art and the most comfortable bed. I genuinely wish my stay was longer. I will definitely stay again and recommend anyone visiting Chicago to stay here.

  • Juan is a great host! He is very friendl and open to suggestions. The place is in a great location, just next to the bus stop which makes it safer for female travelers :). The room was big enough for me and the bed was comfy as well. Overall very good experience!

    Elektra2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, great restaurants and shops in walking distance and there are divvy bikes up the block which makes for a quick trip downtown! Juan was very welcoming and helpful with making our stay awesome!

    Kaitlyn2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Juan is a very polite guy, but he needs more experience hosting. Maybe a "how to" tutorial and needs to work on how to keep a clean BnB. Several areas were below standard. Sink full of dishes for 2 days until a complaint was posted and even then, the kitchen wasn't maintained. Insects (cockroaches) in various areas in the kitchen (dead and alive-but unremoved) Bathroom unkept. Unclean toilet, tub and sink. After a complaint was placed, it began to get a tad better, but the presence of cockroaches caused me to end my visit early. Great neighborhood. Convenient location, the host just needs to take some measures to ensure his place is ready for this endeavor.

  • Joe and Amy’s private bedroom & bathroom was incredible!! My boyfriend and I LOVED staying here and we can’t wait to go back! It was immaculately clean, private, comfortable, beautiful, and modern. I have no doubt in my mind we stayed in the best place in Chicago. I enjoyed the Nest thermostat in our room. The access to public CTA in the form of buses and trains to downtown Chicago was very easy and fast (we got to downtown in 25min via the Pink L train). We appreciated the reusable K cups with local sourced coffee, and the yogurt in the mini fridge in the room. They went out of their way to make sure we were completely comfortable. They also gave us great suggestions on local places in the Pilsen area. Please know if you choose to stay here, you absolutely will not be disappointed!!

    Samantha (Sami)2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Joe and Amy's place was very clean with great amenities in a very nice neighborhood close to some great restaurants. Amy was very nice and there to help us check in. I would certainly stay there again.

  • Super nice room, in super nice and hip neighborhood. Felt just like home. Nice and easy private access, great room size for 2 people. Close to a lot of bus lines, only about 20 minutes away from the loop. Amy was really nice and answered to everything quite rapidly.

    Ana2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Joe & Amy’s! The space was clean, and attention to detail was impressive. They were both very accommodating and responsive! The amenities throughout the space, including the water pitchers in the mini fridge, were so useful! Everything was explained very well! Check in was a breeze. The area is very safe and lively! Great suggestions for amazing food and entertainment nearby! And the bed was like a cloud!! Honestly I could go on and on, but this place is worth it every penny!

    Rhemma2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and up-to-date room. Near many things to do and a short drive to downtown. Joe and Amy were very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

  • Joe & Amy were very responsive and helpful. The check-in process was really smooth and the apartment was beautiful and spotless. It is really ideal for a solo traveler or a couple. It had everything I needed and more and you could tell they really take into consideration the needs of their guests. I would definitely stay there again if I’m ever in Chicago.

    Nasara2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amy and Joe's place was great! It was perfect for my wife, my infant son and myself for our two night weekend stay to explore Chicago. The entire space is brand new and they did a great job with modern finishes and nice little touches. We cannot say enough about how accomodating Amy and Joe were as well, among other things they ensured we had an extra little bed, toys and highchair for our little guy and they also invited us in to visit and offered us food and drinks when they had a few guests over! You really felt like guests in their home, with the privacy of the separate ensuite unit. We enjoyed walking through Pilsen and it was very easy to get downtown. We would highly recommend staying here!

    Drew2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Joe and Amy’s place was really nice. Artfully designed and very accommodating, I felt right at home. The location is great as well! Eateries, shops, and bars were within walking distance and the murals throughout the neighborhood made for an interesting stroll. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Welcome to Pilsen, the neighborhood I have been living for 20 years! It is really cool and artsy. Forbes Magazine named the Pilsen neighborhood as one of the 12 coolest neighborhoods in the world. https://www.nbcchicago.com/blogs/worth-the-trip/Chicago-Neighborhood-Named-Among-Coolest-in-World-by-Forbes-486702851.html https://chicago.suntimes.com/news/pilsen-chicago-forbes-coolest-neighborhoods/
The apartment is newly renovated. It has a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms. I would like to share my love of art with my guests, so there are different art works of various artists in the apartment.
Pilsen formerly full of Bohemian and Czech immigrants, last decades predominantly Mexican neighborhood is located 2.5 miles from downtown Chicago. It is filled with rich culture shown through murals, restaurants, and festivals. 18th Street, the biggest street in Pilsen, is just at the end of the block where the most of restaurants and entertainment venues are located. Museum of Mexican Art (1852 W. 19th street, Chicago, IL 60608) If you can’t make the Chicago museums’ standard hours of operation, take a stroll down Pilsen’s 16th Street (16th St to the North, the Chicago River to the east, Western Ave to the West). 2nd Fridays Gallery Night Founded in the 1980s, the Pilsen art walk has been a long-revered tradition with over 30 different shops, galleries and warehouses regularly participating. After 6pm, residents and shops alike open their doors to the eager public to celebrate and share contemporary art in all its different forms. Night life is vibrant here as well. At the corner of 18th and Allport Street, you’ll find one of Pilsen’s oldest historical landmarks and most ornate live venues, Thalia Hall. Built in 1892, reopened as a multipurposed space in 2013. The focal point is a concert hall, elegantly fashioned after a Prague opera house, which has concerts and artsy events nearly every night. Thalia Hall is also home to the Michelin-starred American eatery Dusek's Board & Beer (1227 W 18th St, Chicago, IL 60608).
  • Such a great space for our weekend trip - we were easily able to uber from here to downtown chicago . The place is simple and clean , plus had all the amenities we needed

    Michelle2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay with Audra! Her first floor apartment is completely self-contained and very roomy with a full kitchen, bath, washer/dryer, and lovely back patio with chairs and a table. The interior is very clean and modern. The futon bed is not the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on, and the queen bed in the other room is very firm. Just FYI for those that are picky sleepers. The location is away from the touristy areas, but is a short drive to many of Chicago's attractions. Audra went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome in her home.

  • Audrone’s place is extremely comfortable, clean and in a great area close to small tasty cafes and vintage stores. Enjoyed my time in Chicago and felt well rested after my stay here. Amazing value and can accommodate multiple people.

  • Great place outside of the city and most tourist attractions but short ride to get to them.

    Matthew2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Pilsen is a cool place to stay and Audrone’s place lets you do this well. Comfortable and clean with coffee and tea laid on, we found it really easy to jump on to the no.60 bus and get straight into town. Only yards from Thalia Hall with their great range of craft beers too!

    Michael2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay at in Chicago! Super close to a lot of things in the pilsen area! Highly recommend

Cozy one bedroom apt in the cultural and artistic neighborhood of Pilsen. Near downtown Chicago, Chinatown, Taylor st., Greektown, and Museums. Pilsen has a variety of accomplished restaurants, coffee shops, merchant shops, Thalia hall, all within walking distance. All public transportation is easily accessible from this location.
  • This was a great place to stay. It was very nice and I felt safe and cozy.

    Catherine2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Alfred and Stella were great hosts! They were very friendly and easy to get a hold of when needed. The unit was very nice as well, it was clean and organized. I would have no hesitation booking with Alfred and Stella again going forward. Some pros: lots of great food in the area, bus stops right at the intersection the building is at, and access to the Pink Line of the L is only about a 3 minute walk away! A few things to note in regards to accessibility (though this information is listed in the details of the unit) : the unit is on the third floor of the building and if you want free parking you do have to walk a bit.

    Erin2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Alfred’s place is an a great location. I was notified early in the day that I would be able to check in early! Huge plus. Easy check in and easy checkout. The apartment was comfortable and clean. Building is safe and secure with quiet neighbors. Although there is no parking in front of the building. There is free parking less than a block away. Alfred also helped me with that as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the city.

  • Really nice apartment in a decent neighbourhood, plenty of local amenities as well as being near to public transport. Alfred was great for responding.

  • This place was a dream. Perfect location right next to public transportation and AMAZING restaurants within minuets walking distance. Such a good value for how close/accessible it is to great food, downtown and public transportation. Will be coming back when we are in Chicago!

Pilsen is our favorite neighborhood in Chicago and is in the midst of dramatic change - hopefully change that retains the vibrant Mexican culture that makes it what it is. This is an artistic and culinary mecca for Chicago, with galleries throughout the neighborhood, politically and socially conscious murals on every block, and a wide array of food, including some of Chicago's best Mexican cuisine. The Mexican Fine Arts Museum is one of the best in the country. Several breweries are located here, along with dive bars, comedy spots, upscale fusion restaurants and music and mole festivals throughout the warm months. This is a demographically diverse community that is still dominated by Mexican families, but has a strong hipster and young professional presence as well. Get ready for Portlandia style beards and coiffed dogs.
  • This was the perfect air bnb for our visit to Chicago. We loved the neighborhood and found lots of delicious food nearby, as well as easy public transportation, and it was quiet at night for getting a good rest. Jose met us at check-in and showed us around. He also checked in with us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. It was great chatting and having a friendly greeting in the mornings, though we still had plenty of privacy. The keypad entry makes it very easy to get in and out of the house. The two cats are very sweet. The bedroom is huge and we appreciated having filtered water, a water heater, coffee maker and ground coffee, and mugs in the room, as well as tv with Netflix. Everything was comfortable, convenient, clean, and cozy. Would definitely recommend!

    Olivia2019-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jose was a fantastic host! He was friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! He would even message throughout the day to see how we were and if we needed anything!! The location was also great as it’s really close to the bus/train! I can’t recommend Jose enough.... He really is a great guy!

    Thomas2019-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • April and Jose are amazing hosts. They are quick in responding. I stayed here for three nights and they even bought a new air bed when I complained about it. There are two cats in the house. If you love animals, particularly cats and dogs like me, this house is great. I would love to come back to this house again in the future.

  • Great place and even better local tips! Highly recommended!

    Rayid2019-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jose was very helpful and friendly, the room was cozy and clean, great location to enjoy the local fare and hop on a train for downtown activities. The common area did have an unpleasant cat odor, but overall, very nice stay.

    Rita2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had a really positive experience here — I felt genuinely welcome and was provided with everything I needed and more. The room is spacious and comfortable, and Jose is a gracious and thoughtful host. Highly recommended!

    Jesse2018-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! Good hosts. Cats are cute. Location is a bit shady so I'd not recommend being out too late. Otherwise it's a great location with easy access to public transportation.

    Jeffrey2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Checkin was very convenient and Jose was there to help us as well. The bedroom was spotless and the bathroom was big as well. The kitchen was fully equipped and we even had great coffee. The hospitality and kindess of Jose is absolutely touching. He's a great guy and I would recommend anyone visiting Chicago to stay at this homely place.

Very spacious apartment in the wonderful Pilsen neighborhood. Close to delicious cheap food, grocery, and pink line! 15 minutes to the loop. 2 private rooms, each room rented out separately, so if you would like to rent them both please contact me about availability. The bedroom has a queen and the second room, if rented, has a twin. Couch could sleep one and the futon could sleep 2 or 3, it’s super comfy! Kuma, my dog also lives here but he loves everyone. (Side note: he is a shedder)
Use anything you want in the apartment! There’s also a yard with a hammock, although it’s a little too cold to use right now... I do have a dog, but he’s super friendly! He might bark when you unlock the door but don’t worry he’ll be really excited when you walk in. I’ve never had an issue with him and a guest! The bedrooms aren’t very big, but the apartment itself is. So feel free to hang out in any of the common areas! You will be sharing all common areas with myself, my partner, and any other guests.
Close to the pink line and lots of cheap Mexican restaurants! Also to the Mexican Art museum. 20 minutes on the train to the loop and 10 minutes by car to wicker park!
  • Aya and Adan are amazing people! I had a great time staying with them. The place was always clean, the hosts were always willing to help you explore the area/fix any issues you might have, and their dog is the SWEETEST! If you’re ever unsatisfied with anything just talk to them — they’re unbelievably helpful and understanding. Couldn’t recommend them more!

    Youmna2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • The location was great (super close to the Pink Line), the apartment had tons of room and all the amenities you could need, and there was an adorable and friendly dog to hang out with. Perfect for visiting Chicago on a budget without compromising on comfort!

    Prairie2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Aya and Adan were super cool, so was Kuma 🐕 ! Very friendly and likeable with a hip place to stay! Couldn’t ask for a better time!

    Tømmie2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Aya's place is a good value. The rooms are small, as stated, but was enough for what we needed. It lacked some overall cleanlines. However, I knew we were arriving before she got back from an out-of-town trip, so I understood that she wasn't able to get the place prepared. This was understood before we arrived. Kuma is a good boy.

    Michelle2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • Good for solo travelers looking for a cheap place to sleep.

    Jose Fernando2019-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Aya for providing a spacious local at such short notice. Would stay here again, for sure!

    Josiah2018-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The place was great, the communication was greater, and the person is the greatest. Aya is a cool cat with a even cooler dog, Kuma. Depends what you’re looking for if you should stay here. If you want I nice quiet sleep while meeting a great person then I think you’ll like hanging with Aya for a night or two!

  • Quick communication, thorough check-in instructions, and an absolutely unbeatable location for exploring Pilsen. Right off 18th street, it is central and still quiet enough for a restful stay.

    Adriane2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay. About 5$ uber to downtown. Free parking 2 blocks away. Easy check-in. Recommended.

    Patrik2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • For those looking for an affordable place to stay while vacationing in Chicago, look no further. This is definitely the type of place where you check-in, set your stuff down, and head back out to your other plans. There’s not much of a “let’s chill out here” vibe (no couch/TV) but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing! The place is clean and convenient.

    Dustin2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great room ! A bunked Bed was exactly what we were looking for so my friend and I didn’t have to share the same bed hahahaha! Great location with good restaurants and Margaritas! Very responsive host! House was clean, and the place was exactly as described! I would recommend it

It's a neighborhood that pulses with a youthful spirit and is ever evolving. For over 150 years, Pilsen has been a port of entry for immigrants. Early on it was waves of Eastern Europeans, which later shifted and became predominantly Latino. Now blended in the close-knit Mexican-American community is creative types and students. Thanks to this diversity, you'll find offbeat vintage shops, independent coffee houses and quaint cafes alongside bodegas, panaderias and restaurants serving authentic Mexican cuisine.

    Lauren2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean and spacious. The neighborhood is nice and quiet.

    Kathy2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • An awesome place to stay at. Very close to the city and a bunch of places that can be walked too for food. Right across from a market that was incredibly convenient.

    Garrett2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Rene's place is comfortable, clean and conveniently located in Pilsen. She was a thoughtful host; responsive, considerate and professional. I would recommend staying at her place and I would book with her again the next time that I am in Chicago :)

    Adrienne2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend. Very close to all downtown activities. First time using Airbnb, also first time being to Chicago! It differently was a loving experience! Prefect size apartment for the weekend trip.

    Hayley2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay here! The apartment is really nice and cozy, with tall ceilings, nights lighting, super comfortable bed, and also there’s a bathtub! It was very hot during during my visit, so the air conditioner was a huge relief. Communication was easy and quick. Highly recommend!

    Jasmin2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rene was a good communicator and easy to deal with. The apartment was clean and it was fairly spacious. The apartment needs to be better maintained and equipped. The kitchen did not have a toaster, there was no dish soap, no dish towels/rags and there was no frying pans to cook in. There was only three sauce pans. There is a large sky light in the kitchen with a bad leak in it. Two of the nights we were there it rained and water was leaking through the sky light on to the hardwood floor. This does not appear to be a new issue as the hardwood under the sky light is damaged. There was an excessive amount of house flys in the apartment, they appeared to be coming in through the sky light. We killed multiple large flys everyday. The toilet in the apartment ran non stop and could be heard throughout the apartment. Although it was not what we expected Rene was very nice and fast at responding.

  • Great place, a lot of space, comfortable to hang out in. The only thing is the entrance is through an alley and it is a little scary to walk by yourself at night. Bring a buddy :) It is decorated nicely.

  • Very quiet and affordable!

    Jason2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at this apartment was great. 18th street in Pilsen is THE street to be on if you're looking to stay in the area. Great coffee shops, Mexican restaurants, great art, and friendly neighbors. Very close to major bus lines to get you to and from the L. The apartment isn't on the main street which was really nice but a little odd to get to if you have a lot of luggage like I did. The couches were extremely comfortable and the bed was just what I needed after a few days of couchsurfing. Water temperature in the shower was great. Loved spending a few hours with the window open listening to the sounds of 18th street. Highly recommend this apartment if you're looking for a really great authentic experience of Pilsen.

  • This apartment is just as described. Everything was clean and comfortable--the rug in the living room is super soft and cushy! Being an apartment in an older Chicago building, it was a bit shabby around the edges, but everything worked fine and the bed was comfortable. Chris did an excellent job of communicating with us, met us with the key and a quick tour of the space, and was available by text throughout our stay.

    Laura2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Christophe is very communicative and kind! The place is simple and clean, near lots of restaurants.

    Lori2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a great host and an awesome location. We spent two nights here after landing from London. Christophe went above and beyond to help us find his place and settle in...! The nightlife close by was awesome and the public transport is really close too, so was really easy to get into the Loop etc. The flat is lovely and quiet, but does need a little spruce up and lick of paint here and there. But other than that it was clean and did the job. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • Jose is a delightful host and his suggestions for restaurants in the area were an added amenity. He responded to all our needs quickly. He is thorough in explaining all the details associated with his home, including parking, which can be a bit of a problem in that neighborhood. Be prepared to park several blocks away some nights. The house is very clean and beds are comfortable.

  • April & Jose’s place was much better than expected! Very nice & clean with all essential amenities. Although April didn’t seem to be there during my stay, Jose was & provided exceptional hospitality. They are also very quick to respond when having to reach out!

  • I had a great stay in Pilsen with my one year old son and two graduate student colleagues, for an academic conference. Great location, friendly and helpful host! Jose took good care of us, going above and beyond to make things easier for my son and I. If you don't like cats or aren't used to them, the cats could be an issue for some, but the cats were friendly and also generally left us alone (not in guest unit downstairs). Pilsen is a neat neighborhood. As a person who loves city residential neighborhoods, it was a joy to explore Pilsen and eat great Mexican food and ice cream. The lodging had great space for me and my son to crawl out toddle,

  • This place is a GEM! Amazing location with personality. Our party of 6 fit fine and even had an extra futton just in case, came in handy when needing to get all the groomsmen together last minute our Air BNB had the room and the decor to even get a few candid photos. I couldn't recommend this place enough, tons of extra bedding and towels, even had extra toothbrushes and soap and such. This place made a trip affordable and let us not worry so much about this trip. 5 stars!

  • OMG LOVED THIS PLACE! Easy to find and great direction on how to get in from host. The locations in the cute little neighborhood with an amazing ice cream place to eat at across the street. The host gave us the inside tips on where to grab coffee and good food. The apartment is a spacious three bedroom with a big bathrooms and big kitchen. The beds so comfortable and each room as a nice like closet and dresser. The apartment get great light in the morning in the front of the apartments which was a great way to start our day. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Will for sure stay with them again.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bath rehabbed apartment is in Chicago’s vibrant Pilsen neighborhood—rated one the coolest neighborhoods in the WORLD by Forbes! It is a short walk to award-winning restaurants, boutiques and cafes on the 18th Street Corridor and a 5 minute walk to the CTA train that will have you to the Loop in about 10 minutes. It was gut rehabbed in 2017, and it contains an updated kitchen and bathroom, central heat and air conditioning, and a private deck off the kitchen.
PICTURES ARE OF UNFURNISHED APARTMENT AND CURRENT TENANT’S FURNITURE. WILL BE UPDATED FIRST WEEK OF JULY AS SOON AS THE APARTMENT IS FURNISHED FOR NIGHTLY RENTAL! The second bedroom is on the smaller side. It contains a full sized bed no sitting area. It’s great for sleeping and then coming out to the living room for sitting and hanging out.
Recently ranked by Forbes as one of the “12 Coolest Neighborhoods Around the World”, Pilsen is just 2.5 miles from downtown Chicago on the city’s Lower West Side. The U.S. Department of Interior added Pilsen to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. Pilsen is the home to some of Chicago best restaurants, including HaiSous, S.K.Y. and Duseks. HaiSous was a 2018 James Beard Award semi-finalist for Best New Restaurant. It is also home to some of the best Mexican food in the country at places like El Milagros, 5 Rabanitos and Canton Regio. Connected to Duseks, Thalia Hall is a historic landmark and is one of Chicago’s most popular music venues, attracting people from throughout Chicago. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the 18th Street CTA Pink Line Station and multiple modes of public transportation, providing easy access to downtown Chicago, both of Chicago’s major airports, the Illinois Medical District and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The apartment is also a 10 minute walk from Addams/Medill Park, home of the Spring Awakening Music Festival and Rudio Fest, the nation’s largest alternative Latin music festival. The Park is also the site of a new $20 million, 100,000 sq.ft, multi-purpose recreational facility. Finally, West Pilsen is home to Chicago’s outpost of California-based Lagunitas Brewery and Tap room where visitors can tour the facility and try many of the beers in the Lagunitas Taproom.
  • The apartment was exactly as advertised. Very detailed instructions which made checking in a breeze and super fast communication. Thank you!

  • The apartment is well furnished with a few nice touches that make it seem well lived in. AC works well, conveniently located, and the accommodations included a few daily parking passes which was SO convenient for those of us that arrive by car. Thanks Sharon!

Parking was easy, check-in was easy. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!

Cozy Mid-Century Modern apartment in the heart of Pilsen. Located on lively 18th Street, just steps from bars, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, shops, and public transportation. 15 minutes to downtown via the Pink Line train, located two blocks away. Named one of Forbes' "12 Coolest Neighborhoods Around The World" in 2018.
Mid-Century meets minimalism in this sweet space. Although located in an active neighborhood, it's a wonderfully calming and quiet place. All the best things Chicago has to offer are at your fingertips, and you can return feeling like you've retreated out of the city.
Pilsen is a neighborhood with deep historical roots. It was originally settled by Czech immigrants, from whom it got its name. It has traditionally been a blue collar community, with the majority of its residents working in the nearby factories and stockyards. The 1960s and 1970s saw Pilsen transform into the neighborhood that you'll see today. A strong Hispanic presence blossomed as many Latinos were displaced from the surrounding north and east areas due to increased development. At that time, the unique and creative personality of the neighborhood exploded. Pilsen is known for its incredible street art, much of which stretches back over a the last couple decades. A simple walk through the area will yield a portfolio of one-of-a-kind photos. The food isn't bad either. Like many other areas in the US, the effects of gentrification are slowly creeping into Pilsen. It's apparent that the residents are active in attempting to keep the unique traits of their community active and vibrant. I request all guests be tolerant and respectful of the fact that they are walking into a strong, proud neighborhood, and to embrace the differences you find here.
  • Perfect location, close to pink line= easy to access Chicago. The apartment was really nice and John was very fast at respondig plus he was flexible with our check in/out with saved our flight in and out days. Will stay here again if I return!

    Nora2019-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great room, in a cool area that’s is 10-15 mins from the centre of Chicago on the subway. John makes things very easy.

  • Great location and a nice stay!

    Grace2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Super comfortable and very accessible to 18th st businesses and the rest of Pilsen amenities. I wanted to be in Pilsen and this was a great central spot for it. John was super communicative and checked in with me before I got there and during my stay. The apartment was comfortable, stylish, and above all CLEAN. Thanks, John!

    Stephanie2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful spot, next to great restaurants. The guest bed is super comfy!

    Emily2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, clean apartment in the middle of the Pilsen neighborhood. John was a wildly hospitable and laid back host--we really enjoyed meeting him--and his place was perfect for our overnight stay. The bed was comfortable and he had quality linens and towels which is something that always stands out for me at an AirBnB. Getting into the apartment the first time can be a little confusing (multiple keys and multiple doors), but once you figure it out it's easy. And we stayed during 110 degree heat index and John made sure the A/C was pumping as much as we wanted/needed, which...thank god because we're from Alaska and Canada and can't survive in the heat. The only drawback of the apartment is that the walls are pretty thin so you have to do some tiptoeing at night and you can definitely hear if anyone is moving around in the common space or other bedroom. But on the whole, great experience with both John and his apartment. Definitely recommend.

    Katlyn2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • I recommend it 100%. The area is nice, it is well connected by public transport to the centre, the appartment is neat and tidy and John is super nice.

    Maria2018-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I really enjoyed staying at John's place! It was very clean, the check in process was very easy, and the bed was really really comfortable and cozy. The apartment location is great, very close to the train and bus stops, and the neighborhood was very nice too. would definitely stay there again!

First floor. Full kitchen, living room, dining room, and two bedrooms. A twin size bed in bedroom 1 and bunk beds (one full size, twin the other) in bedroom 2. There is also a sofa bed in the living room!
  • Peter was readily available throughout the whole process. His place is clean and safe and in a terrific location. Perfect if you're catching a show at Thalia Hall!

    John2019-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place was a great place to stay. Less than 20 minutes drive to downtown. Pollo Express nearby is the best place to get grilled chicken. Safe neighborhood to walk at night. Close to public transportation. We didn't get to see Peter during our stay, but he was prompt in responding to messages. Breakfast options could be better. Maybe provide fresh stock of breakfast for every check-in? The bread we found in the fridge was kind of soggy. Overall, it was really good experience. Peter let us stay past check-out time to accommodate our travel arrangement.

The Pink L line is a bit of a walk, but accessible if you want to do public transit. No problem getting Uber/Lyft to and from the apartment and the loop area of Chicago. Check in and out was very fast and easy. A good kitchen if you want to make your own food while there.

  • This was our second stay at Leon's and it was as good as the first. The fact that we booked again is pretty telling.

    Samantha2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for two nights. There is on street parking, but may not be right in front of place. Easy walkable distance (less than a mile) to the orange line. We felt totally safe walking everywhere. Apartment was clean, and there was some fruit (apples and bananas) available for us, along with a few sodas in the fridge.

    Rachel2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for one night and I really dont have anything bad to say about the place. The only thing that needs to be mentioned is that to get to the second room you need to go through the first room and there is no door between them and it is hard to get parking. He has a Intermet and Smart TV and you can use to watch netflix. I would definetly stay there again if I'm in town. It's about 10 minutes by car to Downtown Chicago. He also had water and soda pops available which I really appreciated. Overall I had a nice experience.

  • This place was amazing. Everything described in the ad and more! Clean, cute, and comfortable! Pilsen is an amazing neighborhood and staying here really gave us a taste of the city. On a personal note, Bel and her family call Pilsen home so it made me feel a lot better using Airbnb. I don’t use it often but I will definitely check availability at this location for my next trip to Chicago. Thanks Bel!

  • One of the best airbnbs I've stayed in and I've stayed a lot of places. Everything was thoughtfully decorated with beautiful decor. The beds were very comfortable, awesome pillows. Not the cheap scratchy stuff you get at a lot of places. The bathroom and kitchen had everything we could need. The tea was really tasty and they even had honey! Bel was an outstanding host. She was quick and helpful when responding to me and she came to help me when I had trouble figuring out how to lock the door. She even let us store or luggage after check out. The area is quiet and there is a good casual Vietnamese restaurant just a block away. Best value on all of Chicago, and I've been coming here for years. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

    Kristen2018-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location, immaculately clean, artfully decorated, cute patio. Bel thought of everything. Would definitely return.

    Mary2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stop searching, this place is amazing. My brother and I didn't want to leave. The apartment was so clean, organized, and beautifully decorated. There were extra little things such as hand sanitizer and blankets to use that just proves Bel is an amazing host who thinks about those small details. Please beware if you rent a car here because the parking isn't assigned. You must find a spot within the neighborhood which can become a lengthy walk and tedious task. Lots of dogs in the area which is great. Great great place!

    Kelly2018-10-03T00:00:00Z

We are in the heart of Pilsen. This neighborhood is a culmination of art, food, music, culture, and diversity. The wonderful thing is we are close to everything! • Peter's place is a fantastic AirBnB. The apartment is located within the neighborhood of Pilsen which has some cool stuff going on. If you're looking for a great restaurant I recommend 5 Rabinitos which is about a mile walk but has really fantastic Mexican food. Its also within two miles of Chinatown if you're looking to get some great DimSum or Szechuan food. Getting to downtown only requires a short Uber ride. The space itself is great. My group did a "friendsgiving" in the airbnb so we spent the day in the apartment cooking and watching football and were extremely happy with the place.

    Eric2018-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is an amazing host! He responded very quick to messages that we had and check-in was very easy. Place was clean and we love that he had a hair dryer (that's important for a group of girls!). He accommodated to our needs and even let my friend check in an hour early because her flight came in early. He went above and beyond. Highly recommend and would stay here again!

  • Easy to bus stops, Lyft rides, etc. If you LOVE hot & humid summer weather indoors (only 1 small A/C unit in the whole entire two floors) and living in a fishbowl (windowed doors have no curtains), this place is for you! If you are not a clean freak and don't mind dusty & smelly airbnbs, this place is for you! If you don't mind the internet dying in the middle of a movie, then this place is for you! If you don't mind the shower drain regurgitating, this place is for you! If you don't mind using a stove with 1 out of 4 burners working, this place is for you! If you don't mind sitting on a couch that is super smelly and swallows you up with its broken springs, this place is for you!

  • Leon was very responsive to messages. And he called to check with me about check-out date when there seemed to be come confusion. The place was neat and clean (except later we found the oven was not). It was a relatively short ride into downtown; however, not walking distance and the neighborhood did not feel safe to walk especially after dark. Although it was well lit. There are some aesthetics about the house that could use work. Paint in the main bathroom ceiling was peeling. Some (small) holes in the wall need patching. We let Leon know that the bathtub needed snaking; it did not drain quickly when you took a shower. Hopefully this was just something that other renters did not notify him of so once he learned of it he will take care of. The microwave was also having problems and need repair. The place is the second and third floor of the building. The railing coming upstairs from the first floor has become partially loose from the wall. The heater works although be careful about checking the program. The heater has a program to adjust the temperature at 4 different times. We did not realize this the first night and in the middle of the night the heater kicked up to 80 degrees. The next morning we realized the issue and adjusted it so that second night was much better. So just be sure to check that. There was a short list of places to eat/things to do posted on freezer. But it was stained with coffee and not a very complete list. At other Airbnbs I have had actual binders with lists of ideas and even maps and brochures included; that was not the case here. The wifi seemed to work fine for our devices. There was soda (Fanta), wine and fruit (bananas) provided. Unfortunately the bananas were very ripe by the time we arrived. One of the bed mattresses squeaked a lot. And that was with one person. Each room had a door that you could close and lock. However, the top half of the doors were comprised of glass panes (which meant no privacy) and some of the panes were missing so somebody could reach in and unlock the door if they have long enough arms. There are AC units in the windows. In one of the rooms, there was a gap between the window side and the AC, allowing cold/freezing air to enter. So we needed to use of of the towels to plug this hole. The towels provided were thin, one of them was torn and ratty; we used this one for the floor outside to tub. The bathrooms are small; the bathroom upstairs near the bedrooms was narrow, having room for the toilet straight back and the pedestal sink. The shower curtain looked stained and could use replacing. There was a loose tile on the floor at the entrance of the bathroom upstairs. Both bathrooms were a step up to get into. So door handles were low when you closed the door on the inside. And the step up was concerning especially if you tried to use the bathroom at night without turning on lights (since the other bedroom would see the light because they did not have a solid door). Also, there was not sufficient window coverings for the windows upstairs. One bedroom had curtains that were decent thickness (although not black-out curtains) but they did not cover the entire window. The other bedroom had very thin curtain that obscured view. And the other window had no curtain or other privacy means. There was another window in the upstairs hallway between the bedrooms that had no curtain either. This meant always changing in the bathrooms. There were no trash cans upstairs so you had to go downstairs each time to throw something away. No Kleenex in the house. For the price, it wasn't a horrible place to stay. But definitely nowhere near the best we have stayed at.

  • Great space!

    E2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is on the top floor of the housing unit which was nice. There were two queen beds for us both as well. The apartment does get pretty hot and there is no Central AC system, so just be prepared for hot nights when traveling in the summer! Otherwise it was a good place to rest after spending all day exploring the city!

    Samantha2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. It's huge and the bed was comfy. The sun comes right in the bedroom window in the morning so plan accordingly if you want to snooze away the morning for some reason.

I live in a cozy two bedroom apartment in the Pilsen neighborhood. Pilsen is one of Chicago's liveliest neighborhoods filled with lots of street art, authentic Mexican food and plenty of things to do. Thalia Hall has concerts every other night and Dusek's is a great spot for brunch! My place is located about 10 minutes from downtown Chicago on public transportation. There are several restaurants within walking distance as well as supermarkets, a library, a US post office and a bank.
  • Sannette was a great host! I would totally recommend her place to other people. Everything was clean and well organized.

  • Quick responses. Comfortable stay.

    Larissa2018-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sannette is a warm and hospitable host who makes you really welcome. Comfortable bed in air-conditioned apartment. Shared Uber was $5 to centre of city. Safe area with restaurants within easy walking distance. Close to train from airport. Bus stops nearby. Might not suit a super-tidy sort of guest. You are living in the apartment with Sannette, sharing a kitchen and bathroom. Great place to stay with relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

  • Sannette is a wonderful host. She had to go out when I was arriving, but she made sure that someone was there to receive me. The house is extremely clean and has all the amenities. I enjoyed staying there. Patricia welcomed me to the home and made sure that I know about the place, and how to go around chicago. Sannette and her family are really nice people. I would definitely stay there again when I visit chicago.

  • Daniel & Tes’s place is so amazing. I love the way it feels & the modern artist look it has. It felt like I was getting to learn a bit about who they are as artists by staying in their home & that was a super added cool touch. The home is very nice & made my trip wonderful.

    Amber2019-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tes and Daniel were absolutely wonderful from the very beginning. I booked months in advance and throughout those months, Daniel made sure to inform me about any events going on in the neighborhood during my stay. Everything I needed, they had. Would definitely book again!

Conveniently located 10-15 min from downtown, Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park, Soldier Field, McCormick Place, & two blocks from Thalia Hall. Ground level partment has TWO bedrooms, living room (with 2 sofa beds!), dining room, and fully stocked kitchen. Bus stop is around the corner. Train (metro) stop is a five minute walk. Free street parking near. Check my other listings! Early check-in/late check-out sometimes possible.
  • We had a really great stay. There were 8 of us, and we felt like we had plenty of space. (There were 2 people sleeping in the full sized beds though, so for some people that might not be comfortable. But, that arrangement was totally fine for us.) The kitchen had lots of snacks available for us, and it had enough counter space for a few of us to be in there cooking at the same time. The rooms looked clean and had nice furniture in them. We were able to check in early, and the directions to get in were clear and where to park were clear. The apartment was about a ten minute walk to get to the pink line, but if we had taken buses then our commute would have been shorter getting into the loop. It was close to some restaurants and also some cute stores. Overall the neighborhood was fun to stay in. We felt safe leaving at night and early in the morning.

  • Easy checkin and communication with Peter. A good accommodation for short time Chicago visits!

    Julia2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect resting spot at the end of a long day in the city. Peter’s little touches around the apt are really considerate. It’s very clean and we felt well taken care of.

  • We stayed in this unit for two days. Everything was great, and exceeded our expectations. The unit was spotless and well furnished, and little touches here and there that made us feel at home. Check in and out was effortless. One surprise to us was the neighborhood. It was a very short walk from many great restaurants, small unique shops, a small park, even a barber shop! I look forward to our next Chicago adventure and I hope we will have the privilege of staying in this unit again.

  • Noel's place is super comfortable and was very conveniently located for us. We came for a trade show in McCormick place, and the commute every morning was fast and easy. The apartment is very roomy, with large bedrooms and two full bathrooms in very good condition. Full size kitchen with dinette area and livingroom made it convenient for us to spread around, and at the same time continue conversations. Noel greeted us with a card note which had wifi directions and very sweet welcome message. The place was super clean, and all necessities were available. Would love to stay at Noel's place next time!

  • We loved Rene’s place. Lots of room, good proximity with uber to lots of sights to see in downtown Chicago. The area was pretty quiet, and there’s a marketplace directly across the street with lots of restaurants within a short walking distance. Rene was very accommodating to our group and was very sweet. Thank you again!

  • Great place in an amazing neighbourhood. We would have been happy eating tacos and looking at murals for two days without ever venturing into the rest of the Chicago. :) TThe hosts were kind and attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend. Amazing value.

    Sarah2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Hey guys, I am writing to recommend Rene as a host. Really enjoyed staying here. The space was large and comfortable. I felt at home. The location makes it easy to get to McCormick or to other points in the Chicago area via a quick ride.

  • The worst thing is a bed in the main bedroom, especially mattras which should be replaced immediately; hard to impossible to sleep. Kitchen is outdated and not enough kitchenware. Location is in the industrial district, far from the city center.

    Evgeny2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a gem in Pilsen. We were in town for a music festival and more, and we felt like we got lucky to find such a great place that was centrally located for our five-day adventure.
