Welcome to my house in Beautiful Bayview! I am about 15 minutes from the airport and Downtown San Francisco. I’m 2.6 miles from the Chase Center, 3.4 miles from Oracle Park and 3.6 miles from Moscone Center. This room is meant to transport you to a time that no longer exists. You will have a lot of room to breath, relax and get a great night's sleep. The adjacent room may also be occupied by a guest so please be courteous by keeping the noise down.
I welcome people from all countries, backgrounds, and cultures. I am listing my beautiful room on Airbnb. In this city, the rooms are tiny and my house has a lot of space and you can actually breath in this room. You have a lock on the main door, so this is a private space for you. I have hardwood floors throughout my place, so great for those with allergies. I have 1.5 bathrooms that are shared. There is one full bathroom with a shower on the same level as the bedrooms and a small half-bath just past the kitchen. You have access to both bathrooms. In the morning from 5:30 am to 6:30 am, the showers are usually occupied.
This is Bayview, San Francisco. It is not the posh SF neighborhood that you see in movies. This is a diverse neighborhood with people of all races and socio-economic backgrounds. There are homeless people on the streets. Take reasonable precautions to keep yourself safe such as not walking alone at night, using ATMs during the day etc. I would say that holds true for most of the city.
  • A very affordable stay in San Francisco!

  • Keisha's home is very stylish, clean, and comfortable.

  • Super good place to stay

    Liwei2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay here. The house is clean and welcoming and Keisha is great. I enjoyed a long walk up Third St to the Dogpatch area, there are more restaurants and bars/breweries and some cool views of the bay as you make your way in that direction. The neighborhood in the evening after dark didn't feel totally smart to walk around by myself (I was traveling alone) and there weren't a lot of establishments to go to in the immediate area, so I turned in early. I went to Roadhouse Cafe in the morning for coffee and enjoyed the neighborhood feel; literally everyone in there, customers and employees, said hello and were friendly. It was very easy to find overnight street parking for my car, another plus.

  • Cleanliness and very stylish, every room. Good location for things close at hand for typical San Francisco.

  • Though I really just crashed here for a few hours overnight (exhausting work trip), this place was better than expected! Super clean, easy to get into, and just the right amenities.

  • Lotsa kindness/thoughtfulness from Dongmei with all the snacks and coffee, and just a very nice person and made us feel welcome : )

    Mary2019-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • My only regret is that I can't give 6 stars. She was so wonderful that I left her a thank you card when I checked out. Fruit, cereal, and sandwich fixings provided, a clean bathroom, tidy beds, and a mini fridge in each room. So cozy and homey, and very conveniently located (we had a car). She is also so, so kind. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Cozy, private room and bathroom on the bottom floor of a house on a quiet cul-de-sac. Guests enter the room through the garage. A code will be sent prior to arrival. There is also access to a backyard with a turf lawn. The room has a Roku TV, but you would need to bring your own Roku to use it.
Bayview is a historic neighborhood in southeast San Francisco. It’s very diverse both racially/culturally and socio-economically. Some families have been here for a few generations while others are recent transplants working in tech. Bayview is predominantly residential, though 3rd Street runs through the heart of it and is full of small businesses, restaurants, and corner stores.
  • Janelle’s space is clean and easy to check into, thanks for having us!

    Helen2019-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great value and location. Private area with a walkout to backyard garden. Absolutely lovely. Place is clean with parking if needed. Hosts respond quickly to any questions or needs. Would definitely return to Janelle and Marcus place.

    Ann2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife. Generally this Airbnb is good. Room is clean and cosy, everything is neat and tidy. Location is good as Uber and Lyft are always available. Janelle the host is very responsive and helpful. But the thing kept haunting us at these 3 nights was really the noise problem, which quite disrupted our sleep, especially after our long haul 12 hours flight. At the first night the refrigerator at the room emitted some machine sound, which was loud enough to wake us up in this room. On the third night, we were waken up by the sound from upstairs. What I can say is that the sound insulation was bad that noise from upstairs could easily transmit to our room. All in all, except the noise issue, this Airbnb is good.

    Ho2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Janelle was super communicative and check in was easy, even when I arrived late at night. Cozy, restful space. Will stay there again happily.

    Gabe2019-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable, and great hosts.

Private, cozy suite with a bedroom, living room, kitchen area, and bathroom. We have just about everything you need to make this your home away from home in our wonderful city.
The private suite is located in a typical San Francisco single-family home. We live upstairs, and you'll be in the downstairs suite. We have two young girls, so you may hear footsteps. It's just a fact of life in a crowded city. The upshot is that they go to bed quite early. The downstairs suite is new -- about a year old. Construction completed in late 2016. You enter through the common main gate just as we do. At that point, one door leads upstairs and the other door leads downstairs. Past the laundry area downstairs (one of two laundry areas), there is another lockable door that grants access into the private suite. We strive to provide as much as we can to make you feel comfortable staying in our home. To that end, in the bedroom, we provide a very firm Beautyrest mattress, new high quality bedding, brand new hotel feel pillows, antique wood nightstands, a solid wood side table, a new bedside touch lamp; in the living room -- there is a new Pottery Barn couch, a TV, a radio stereo system, a solid wood side table, a new mini-ironing board; in the dining area -- new cups, dishes, pots and pans, an electric stove, a coffeemaker, mini-fridge, microwave; in the bathroom -- a new hairdryer, towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap; and finally an eclectic collection of books in your own personal bookcase. The list goes on. If you need to do laundry, just ask. We have a dedicated washer and dryer for guests. We ask that you donate $5.00 per load in our donation jar to offset energy costs and contribute to our daughters' tuition fund. The entire cleaning fee goes directly to a local woman from the neighborhood who cleans the suite between guests to help support her family. When she is unavailable, the fee goes directly to another woman from a nearby neighborhood.
The Bayview is a diverse residential neighborhood, a throwback to what the city looked like several decades ago. Historically known for its large African-American population, people from all walks of life live in the Bayview -- from doctors, lawyers, and teachers to construction workers, custodians, and artists. Unlike other neighborhoods, you'll see all ethnicities represented in the Bayview. We have had guests dock us on stars for location citing the "rough neighborhood," which we feel is unfair. If you are uncomfortable in a historically African-American neighborhood with people from many different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, this is really not the place for you. That said, the sun is particularly strong here. It pushes the infamous fog to the other parts of the city! While mostly residential with a substantial swath of industrial, there are beautiful public parks and some interesting retail businesses that have popped up recently. We can give you recommendations. Just ask!
  • Better than hotels for sure. Host is also accommodating. Two room house is part of first floor, connected but separated from the owners area. Long hallways and acess to the backyard which is great. Not recommending walking outside though, we did walk a loop nearby and two blocks away the streets are sketchy, better use Uber to get around.

  • Ken's place was great. A very affordable option about 15 from downtown. This place is very spacious.

    David2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is freshly constructed, nice, and well decorated. Everything you would need for an apartment was present. The heating thermostat is not in the actual apartment so if you are too hot or too cold, the thermostat is out of your control. To get to the apartment, one should download the "Muni Mobile" app. This will allow you get information to get on the "T" Tram. We took bus number 44 to the De Young Museum, California Museum of Science, and Gold Gate Park.

  • Ken’s place was perfect! Super clean and cute, affordable, and close to airport. Didn’t get to meet him and the fam but he was super responsive and lovely. Highly recommend!

  • This was a wonderful stay in a great little private suite. they have everthing you need from ironing boards to hair dryers to a full kitchen. Very nice people and super covenient!

  • We only stayed a few days but Ken was very helpful in making sure we got to the place ok. Once inside, we had everything we needed.

    Jennifer2018-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ken's place exceeded our expectations. Communication during our stay was clear and extremely painless. He watched out for us when we parked in potential citation zones. The apartment was full of extra treats to make our stay more cozy! (Slippers, wine for our honeymoon, little chocolates.) the apartment was really small and SUPER clean. Brand new duper nice shower. An amazing stay. Would recommend to anyone!

    Marilyn2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Ken was very sweet and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. I've stayed at several Airbnb's before and Ken was my favourite host. He replied to messages promptly and even provided water bottles daily, chocolates, and a warm bathrobe when I mentioned I was cold. The place is very well equipped and the amenities are all newly renovated. Everything was super clean. The bed was comfortable and the place was very cute. It was also very secure with 3 lockable doors in the entrance to the apartment. The only downside was the area, which is not safe and about a 15 min drive to the nice areas of San Francisco. It's not recommended to walk there in the evenings. However if you are fine with taking uber to downtown and back (costs ~ $12 one way), then this apartment is a great value for the money. The house is also on a quiet residential street. We also heard children running around the floor above us every morning, but since we weren't sleeping in until late this didn't bother us. Thank you Ken!

Our mid-century/modern vibe apartment is sunlit & private. You can listen to vinyl & chill out in your space or jump on the public transit a block & a 1/2 away & go anywhere you'd like in the city or farther.
Our lovely mid-century/modern vibe apartment is sunlit & has its own private bathroom with recently remodeled shower. You will be staying in a home that is over 100 years old; with that comes the quirks & original details you might expect from an older home - if you are interested in a sleek, modern, brand new place, our home is probably not for you! However, if you have an affinity for older, vintage pieces & they charm you, this might be your place :) You can listen to vinyl & mellow out in our fun, vintage mid century modern chairs &/or jump on the public transit & be anywhere you'd like in the city! If this is your first airbnb experience we are super happy to be hosting you, however, please make sure to read on & read thoroughly all of the entire description for the specifics staying in our airbnb & EXACTLY where we are located (not near touristy destinations!!) Airbnb is not a hotel & it's good to know how Airbnb works if you are new!) (& if you are an old hat, read on for all the info!) Hi! We'd love for you to stay in our private, light-filled separate apartment with your own bathroom/shower steps inside our butchertown home. In your space there is a mid-century vintage/modern vibe with a small kitchenette including a microwave, mini-fridge, electric kettle, tea, coffee, & oatmeal set up, silverware, mugs, bowls, wine glasses, etc for you to use. There is a super comfortable queen sized bed, with a low profile, japanese style bed frame. Original, charming, paint splattered hardwood flooring is intact & shows its history - we think it's a great accent. There is a sitting area with a record player & lots of eclectic vinyl at the ready &, we have tennis racquets, skateboards, & two older vintage bikes available for a small rental fee ($10 a day or $50 per stay per person; please let us know you would like them in your request. There is a safety deposit we require as well when you get here; inquire for more info :) to enhance your San Francisco stay at our Butchertown home. There are also Ford City Bikes now for rent at the end of our block that you can take & use in the city. We have a park directly across the street, Youngblood-Coleman, with basketball courts, a playground, new tennis courts, the best concrete luge slide in all of San Francisco (!) & soccer fields. There is a rebuilt world class skatepark up the hill as well at Hilltop Park. A 10 minute walk away is Heron's Head Park - a beautiful respite & bird sanctuary & recovering estuary. In our awesome, plant filled, & chiminea ready backyard, which is accessed through the back part of the home which we are renovating (just ask for us to show you through), you are also free to chill out in the sun & have a peek at the Golden Gate Bridge from our deck space. You can also pet our chickens if you are curious! About the neighborhood: we are in Butchertown, aka Outer Dogpatch, part of the Bayview & a working class, transitional neighborhood. This is not a come-to destination but a real San Francisco hood. Dogpatch is our closest neighborhood to hang out in & it is a just a few minutes up the road via car or about 10 minutes via the public transit train. This T line rail is a block & 1/2 from our house & it will connect you to all of SF, not swiftly, but you can get everywhere! It also connects directly to the SF Giants ball park & is minutes away if you are in town for a game! The Muni, BART & cable lines are all able to be connected via this train. Uber & Lyft are also great options to get around & affordable. We have eclectic food & places blocks away in our hood: Flora Grubb is our favorite plant nursery with ritual coffee, Radio Afrika Kitchen, Auntie April's chicken & waffles, Word Cafe, Speakeasy & Laughing Monk breweries & tasting room & more. Right up the road in Dogpatch there are awesome bars, artisan ice cream shops, & fabulous restaurants (Piccino, Chocolate lab, Dogpatch saloon, Serpentine, Neighbor bakehouse, Mr & Mrs miscellaneous, Long branch pizza, La fromagerie, Magnolia brewing...) we would love to point you in the right direction & give you some tips to make your stay great! You can see on our map where these different places are here in the guidebook section of the listing. Here is a great write up on lots of local eats in the hood: https://sf.eater.com/maps/best-restaurants-bars-bayview-san-francisco Some things to know: We have 2 cats, & a sweet 35 lb rescue pup; none of which are allowed in your space. The bedroom is on a street with a bus line, so there is street noise & light. There is free street parking & you can usually find a spot right on our block if you are driving or renting a car for your stay - a definite perk in the city! Our neighborhood is absolutely one of the sunniest which we love. It is also a little bit grittier; it's in a bit of flux right now & we love the diversity that affords. This is a working class neighborhood with real San Franciscans & we would love to show you that but you need to know this! Please, PLEASE do your research & look at the map as to where we are located; we cannot change the location of our home but you certainly can do some research about where we are at! We are close to wonderfully great things but we are not near touristy fishermen's wharf; please don't come stay here expecting to be 5 minutes away from there! What we provide: Clean sheets & towels, coffee, tea, dishware & a refrigerator & a microwave. There is normally extra toiletries in the cabinet as well. There is a hair dryer, an iron, & ironing board in the cabinet should you need it. We have hosted many people & sublet our place numerous times to hundreds of happy guests. We are normally always present & available to our guests. We take cues from our guests & adjust accordingly on how social they would like to be. Easy street parking normally within the block & the public transit, the T line, is a block & a 1/2 away.
Our neighborhood is absolutely one of the sunniest which we love. It is also a little bit grittier; it's in transition right now & we love the diversity that affords.
  • Our stay at Bob en Jenifers house was good. You are not close to the touristy stuff, but the tram and busses got us everywhere! The upside is that you are in a true/beautiful San Fran neighbourhood and Bob has some great tips as a local. Bob was a great and helpful host!

    Xavier2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jenifer was there to greet us when we arrived. She was nice and helpful. As stated the room had a vinyl collection and stereo which gave me hours of pleasure going through music such as James Taylor, Herb Alpert, Joni Mitchell and more obscure recordings. The house itself is in a rebuild mode although you would not know it from the room. The bathroom was private, the parking easy. I did not get a chance to explore the area but from what I could see there really wasn't a whole lot within walking distance. Coffee and tea was available in the room which was nice, milk in the mini fridge would have been nice.

    Kris2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Jenifer and Bob. They were great hosts, very responsive and welcoming with lots of recommendations. The room was just as pictured, clean, bright and beautifully decorated.

    Elise2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip in San Francisco was perfect thanks to Bob and Jennifer. Their lovely room is perfect to spend some days in SF. Well accommodated, very stylish ! We loved it ! Bob took the time to explain us the various spots and points of interest in San Francisco. When you stay there, it's easier to have a car but you can also take the train (about 20' to go at Powell Street).

    Martin2014-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Jenifer are lovely! They made us feel very welcome and gave great suggestions for sight-seeing. The room has a very fun vibe and was very clean and comfortable. Their home is very close to the local T-train station, which was very convenient for us to get to the heart of the city. Anyone would feel very comfortable in their home!

    Kelly2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jenifer and Bob’s place. Bob gave us a bunch of recommendations on nearby places to eat (which were all fantastic, definitely check out Long Bridge Pizza) as well as some unique places to check out near the Golden Gate Bridge and in Chinatown. We were travelling by car, so the location was fine for us, but it is a bit of a hike from the more touristy spots. But everything’s still easily accessible by transit or Uber. The room was clean and comfy and having a record player and an extensive vinyl collection is an awesome touch.

    Danica2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jenifer and Bob’s place was perfect for my 3 day stay in SF. The room/ bathroom was clean, cute, and spacious. The free street parking was appreciated too! Jenifer and Bob were both a joy to meet and were extremely friendly, responsive, and hospitable. I recommend their place for anyone needing a place to stay in the SF area!

    Alex2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I loved everything about Jenifer and Bob’s place! Very clean, cozy and covered in awesome art giving their home such great personality. We were running a little behind on our original check in time, but we let Jenifer and Bob know and they were very accommodating - clear communication is always appreciated! The private bedroom/bathroom is clean and modern with lots of natural light (if you choose to pull the curtains back some). Bob gave us some suggestions for local eats, hospitality was outstanding :). Street parking is ample, close to MUNI station too. I wish we could have stayed for more than one night. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to SF (hopefully soon)!!!

Enjoy your San Francisco stay in the sunny Bayview district. 420 friendly space is on bottom garage level of home. Private entrance, backyard seating, queen bed, microwave, fridge, wifi, bathroom w/shower, free easy street parking, laundry. Close to SFO & T train
A lot of effort was put into making this a serene space for people visiting San Francisco to escape to. Since we are huge music lovers and San Francisco has a rich musical history, we decided to give a nod to rock n roll in the room’s design. Elements include vintage rock posters, a 45” record turned napkin dispenser, and framed one-of-a-kind photographs of musicians. What the room doesn’t include is NOISE:) The yard Is part of the appeal of staying with us. It's got plenty of outdoor seating and room to relax in and lots of sun weather permitting. The space is One large room, rather than a full apartment, since there are convenient amenities but not a full kitchen. You enter through our garage, so when you first step inside, you're in the rustic garage level laundry area, and from there you enter the space itself, which is all yours and completely private. 3 People Maximum but if you have a larger group... We limit the number of people in the guest space to 3 people. IF you have a larger group, our vintage 1963 Shasta trailer located in the backyard is available for an additional $50/per night for up to two people. It has one comfortable 'trailer full' sized bed in it, along with a mini fridge and booth seating. Mention that you want to rent the trailer too when you book with us, and we'll make sure to have it ready for you! The space has A microwave, refrigerator, electric teapot, and coffee maker, a comfortable queen bed, a fold down chaise lounge, an extra rollaway twin bed, a dining area, and access to washer/dryer for your use. For longer term stays...we provide dishes/utensils and whatever else you might need. The bathroom Is small but newer with a really great shower. It's located just outside of your guest room and is your own private bathroom. How many people can it fit? The space is best suited for 2 people, but we can comfortably sleep 3 people. We provide 1 queen bed that is beyond comfortable, a retro inspired Chaise lounge that folds down into a single bed, plus a comfy roll away twin bed if needed. As mentioned above, our vintage 1963 Shasta trailer located in the backyard is available for an additional $50/per night for up to two additional people. What about parking? There is plenty of street parking in our neighborhood and there are no permits required or parking meters. So you can park close, easily, for as long as you want, for free. Just be mindful of street cleaning days, to avoid getting ticketed. We strongly urge all visitors not to leave anything in their car overnight, to prevent break ins. This is advice applies to guests not just in our neighborhood but anywhere in San Francisco.
We love living in the Bayview, and sharing all that it has to offer with friends and visitors alike. But we recognize that our neighborhood isn't for everyone. It is extremely diverse, up-and-coming so rough around the edges, and we are not located in walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. Most guests use Uber or the like to get around rather than walk. The block we live in on is extremely close, we have a neighborhood block club that gets together regularly for social events, and friendly neighbors abound. We LOVE living here. But as a guest-- if you are not comfortable with people of all colors in an urban environment, or if you are looking for a suburb experience--our place is probably not a good fit for you:) The neighborhood... The Bayview in general has great weather compared to other parts of the city, and a very diverse population. In terms of ethnic diversity, in order of population, the Bayview is African American, Latin American, Asian and then Caucasian. If you are uncomfortable being in a neighborhood that is extremely diverse, the Bayview is not the neighborhood for you. The Bayview is special in that nature and industrial mix together to form a unique landscape. In some spots, like Heron’s Head Park, you’ll find amazing Bay views and bird watching. You'll find a lot of long-time residents in the Bayview, along with a growing number of artists and creative types. Though it is more isolated than other neighborhoods, locals love it for its unique vibe and authentic character. Historically touted as a rough neighborhood, the Bayview has come a long way and is considered an ‘up and coming neighborhood’ by many. It’s filled with great places to eat and a growing number of cool local businesses. Two blocks from our house is Super Save, a large but very basic grocery store that has most of what you would want to find in a super market. It’s a far cry from Whole Foods, but the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Businesses.. In the Bayview most businesses are open during the day, but only a few are open at night, so grabbing a bite to eat at night on foot is challenging. But a quick drive will get you to many eating out options at night.
  • Very clean homey space with lots of interesting touches. It is halfway between the airport and downtown SF which was good for us. Its not the most centrally located - but the bus system is great and the spot is right next to a major line. Was nice to have a real neighborhood feel while we were in SF.

  • A really great stay in SF Tex is very helpful and nice. We enjoyed our stay near the city by "Muni T" and by car for visiting all interested points: the golden gate, bernal park, Muir beach, and so one... A city where we shall come back. We loved Tex and Chris stay. Thank you. Karine and Jean-Philippe the first and so the best French Guyana guests:))))

  • I was in San Fran for business so didn't see Chris or Tex once I was checked in, but they were very helpful during the booking process and answered all my questions. The place is clean, private, easily accessible, and well stocked with nice amenities (fridge, microwave, electric kettle, space heater, etc). They were never loud upstairs, parking was relatively easy, and the bed was super comfy. Thanks again!

    Jessie2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice experience! We did not meet with Chris and Tex, but the neighbor helped us a lot. Bathroom is clean, and the bed is comfortable.

  • My husband and I enjoyed a very private and comfortable 5 nights. It is easy to get in and out of city. All creature comforts are available. The creative interior of Art Deco and yesteryears added a fun touch and we played ancient vinyl records of our age group....fun. My only concern was hearing that the area requires extra caution for safety and I was glad my husband was with me. Chris and Tex are generous and helpful if needed. Recommend

    Marcia2019-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great private space with fun touches like a record player. Extremely accommodating hosts. Great all around stay!

    Amber2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Tex were very good hosts. We passed a great time in their house. A quiet and comfy place I recommend for all airbnb users who want to go to SF

    Julien2019-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Tex are great hosts and quick to answer if I ever had an inquiry or need immediate assistance. The room is small but have great personality and I enjoy the decorations and the privacy that it provided. A fun experience for us this week was trying out the old record player that was in there and listening to the albums that were left behind (especially if you're a Fleetwood Mac or David Bowie fan). The location is a little ways out from the city center but the bus nearby and a quick call to Lyft and Uber ensure that the trip to and from the touristy sites are easy and fast. The bed was comfortable for two people and Chris and Tex had provided a neat pull out bed for our group's third member to relax in. It was great meeting both hosts in person as they were both very kind and helpful. Whatever issue we had was immediately taken care of and they had ensured that our stay at their home was pleasant and fun.

Potrero Hill is one of San Francisco's hidden gems. We have great weather, lovely views and feel like a small town within the Big City. Except we have numerous wonderful restaurants and cafes within walking distance. My Guidebook lists many of them and I'll provide you a detailed list in your room.
  • Nancy is a very hospitable host who goes out of her way to ensure that your stay will be comfortable. She is a great conversationist and provides great advice on places of interest in SF. Nancy's place is easily accessible by public transport and there are some really nice restaurants that are a stone's throw away too.

    Joseph2018-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's place is lovely and IMPECCABLE- super clean, adorable little room, very very clean, every detail thought of, she has not missed anything. I loved the private bathroom with shower downstairs and the toilet next to the room upstairs. Bed fits two people. First morning we came downstairs to delicious coffee and breakfast. Second morning she made me coffee again! Parking is easy and the area is safe and near everything. This the perfect location for people that want a quiet, nice area, with an amazing view of the city and endless parking. I love Potrero Hill!

  • This was our first time to use Airbnb and Nancy made it a great experience. She gave us a list of local places to eat and get groceries. She was flexible with our later arrival than originally thought. We would stay at her place again.

    Heather2013-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The room was great and private with an incredibly comfortable bed. The house is very conveniently located next to some amazing restaurants and only a short drive into the centre of San Francisco. We had a fabulous time staying with Nancy, she is a wonderful hostess and person and makes a killer cup of coffee in the morning, and I would recommend this Urban Haven to anyone going to visit SF.

  • We loved our stay with Nancy at her Urban Haven/Secret Garden. Nancy couldn't have been more hospitable, from welcoming us with a breakfast to suggesting resources in the neighborhood to providing amenities like fine coffee and tea, hairdryer, etc. Our room was compact but charming and well-outfitted. We enjoyed our conversations about books, travel, and San Francisco and also appreciated that Nancy respected our privacy. We look forward to staying at Urban Haven again.

  • We had a great time at nancy's place! Nancy is a very warm person, make us feel at home! Cosy room with useful extras like travelguide and map of san fransisco. You can use back and frontyard to relax. Nice neighboorhood, 20min by metro/bus to citycenter. we had dinner at Pera, one block from nancys place, which was delicious. When we once go back to San Francisco we would definitely book again!

    Christianne2014-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy's house was perfect for my girlfriend and I during our vacation in San Francisco. The location was great, very close to downtown and walking distance from a lot of nice little restaurants and cafes. Nancy was such a warm and welcoming host and had great suggestions for us during our stay. She told us about some gems around the city that I didn't come across when planning our vacation -- and these ended up being some of our favorite things on the trip. This was our first Airbnb experience and one we will never forget. I would highly recommend staying in Nancy's beautiful home.

    Bradley2013-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Nancy was exactly what I needed. The loft was peaceful and airy, with beautiful decorative and functional touches. It was a joy to have a private half bath in my room, in addition to the full bath for showering. Having a washer and dryer was really helpful, as I was able to travel with a small bag knowing that I could rinse out clothing items as needed. Having access to a refrigerator saved me a ton of money, as I was able to stock fruit, juice and yogurt for breakfast without having to eat out at every meal. Perfect for the girl on a diet!:) Wireless internet was a must for me, and helped facilitate me working while relaxing in bed. Nancy was personable and helpful. The neighborhood is great - with several cafes and some popular restaurants within 2-3 blocks. If you're up to a 20-45min walk, you can literally walk to many neighborhoods in the city. Of course there are buses nearby, as well. Nancy's space was exactly what I needed - AND I saved several hundred dollars in food and hotel costs! Thanks again, Nancy!

Private room with king size bed and closet in the vibrant Bayview neighborhood. Shared kitchen and bathroom in a 3-bedroom house. Access to washer and dryer in garage, and parking on the street. Close to public transit (1 block to the Muni station), and plenty of street parking.
Beautiful bedroom with king-size bed in the vibrant Bayview neighborhood. You will share the house with a dancer couple that is very passionate about the arts.
The Bayview is a very vibrant neighborhood close to public transit. It is one of the more sunny parts of San Francisco. Great brewery in neighborhood!
  • cozy bed and clean room!

  • The bedroom is clean and I like the bed. Host is friendly. There is no noice cancellation between room so it is a bit noisy. Parking spot is very difficult to find. In general, I like the accomodation.

Hey! Make yourself comfortable, and welcome to my home here in the historic Bayview, San Francisco. I live in the master bedroom with my girlfriend Tiffany, and there are 2 private bedrooms available: this room and North (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17592480).
Making sure people have a good time is my mission, so let me know what your mission is in SF and I'll try my best to make recommendations. I enjoy sharing good coffee with my guests, we got french press or espresso. Help yourself to cereal, milk, eggs. Your bathroom has a heated bidet, it's rather amazing. Please let me know if you need more blankets or prefer the thermostat turned up.
Bayview, San Francisco is a neighborhood that represents decades of African-American culture. It features a lot of solid community culture; great people, great music, great community feeling, and obviously great soul/Southern food. Today, it is one of SF’s most diverse districts, with lots of families and professionals from multi-ethnic backgrounds. It’s one of the city’s hidden gems, and I’m happy it’s that way right now, but also looking forward to the future where it evolves.
  • Albert and Tiffany were very hospitable and considerate. One of the friendliest couples I've met - both are foodies so it was easy to connect. They had great recommendations for cool spots and restaurants in SF. The room was clean, sunny and comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better stay in SF. I highly recommend 👍

    Mocha2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic time staying at Albert's! My brother and I were in town for a conference so we didn't really have any time to chat or do much of anything at his place besides sleep, but Albert was always quick to respond and lovely to talk to, the space was exactly as described and very homey, parking was super easy to find (even for overnight parking), and the neighborhood was gorgeous to explore and drive to/from with all of its hills. I would absolutely come back again!

    Nick2019-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Albert & Tiffany are simply a joy. They ensure that their guests are completely comfortable and welcomed with a smile. I would suggest that if you're looking for a spot to put your feet up and truly feel relaxed, Albert & Tiffany will not disappoint.

  • Albert and Tiffany were our favorite hosts yet! Their place was very comfortable and they made us feel right at home. They had awesome recommendations for places we should eat and were very knowledgeable about the city. They also offered great conversation over a bottle of wine! We definitely recommend them!!!

Furnished garden studio cottage. The cottage is detached on all sides and is not a shared unit. The studio is furnished with a queen size Tempurpedic bed, bistro table and chairs, loveseat, coffee table, closet/drawer system. The cottage has a small kitchenette equipped with sink, mini fridge, and microwave, but no stove. Washer and Dryer are located in the garage of the main house. 1.5 blocks form 3rd street business corridor T-Embarcadero train, 24, 23, and 44 bus lines.
  • Great studio for the extent of my time working. Convenient location to the hospital and T-train. I watch a lot of tv on my Appletv, unfortunately the internet was intermittently unusable or very slow. Parking was also difficult as street was only option if you drive during the day. Laundry was nice, never had any issues. Very close to food stores and restaurants. I enjoyed my stay, was sad to leave.

    Christopher2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The space is a backyard apartment with its own bathroom and kitchenette. You enter the backyard through the garage. The cottage itself is nice. I stayed here for a month and didn't have any issues. The host was great with check in and communication. It's a great place for the value. The downsides are that the neighborhood is not a good neighborhood, and the wifi can be spotty or slow.

    Wes2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • I lived in the cottage for a month. It was clean with enough space for a temporary comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and cozy the sofa was clean as well. Check in was very easy and she gave me some information about the area upon my arrival. The only problem I had was with the parking. I could not park in the driveway as she was working from home and she wanted the driveway clear for her clients, and there are not many other spaces near her place to park. I had to look around every day after work to find a parking spot and sometimes I had to park far away from the cottage, or deal with neighbors complains about taking their spot, even if I parked on the side of the street!

    Zahra2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great cottage for my month in SF. Nicole provided answers almost immediately to any questions or concerns I had. I have no complaints!

    Tyler2018-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is really nice and comes as advertised. I had planned to stay here for about 4 months, but due to construction on the tram lines (which is due to end in April, after my stay would end), my commute became a lot longer than I had budgeted for. Because of this and other reasons regarding my work I cancelled my stay after about a month. Nicole was really understanding, accommodating and helpful, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a host.

Traveling for work? Stay here in your home away from home in your own comfortable private room and private bathroom. Business ready space. Please note and read these important rules: 1. ONE person only. No guests, no exceptions. 2. Use of bedroom and bathroom only. No use of living room and kitchen. 3. Coffee and desk in your room. You must love dogs because you will be staying with one, but you won't get to interact with her unless you want to. :)
Queen bed, comfortable room with your own desk for work, and bathroom with shower over tub is all yours for your stay.
Neighborhood is 'transitional' and diverse (ethnic). It's the sunniest part of San Francisco! It's a residential neighborhood, so don't expect to walk out the door and find stores. Delivery is easy.

  • Room and bathroom accommodations were lovely. Never having stayed with a family before in an airbnb, David and Del were welcoming and made me feel like a family guest. Everything needed (water, clean linens, even a screen for the window as there is no AC) was available like a hotel, plus an apple and square of ghiardelli's chocolate. An enjoyable stay for the few days I stayed.

    Tracey2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was, by far, the cleanest and most comfortable airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. I’ve stayed at many great airbnbs, but Del has really thought everything through- down to pillow alternatives- in hers. Parking on the street was easy to find over the weekend. Del found out it was my birthday and celebrated by providing drinks for my fiancé and I. She was a wealth of knowledge and spent time when we arrived making sure we didn’t have any questions. I will definitely be looking for her place again on our next San Fransisco visit.

    Danielle2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve been at Del’s apartment just for one night. Everything was perfect. A super easy check-in, clean and tidy room, great neighborhood... Del is super friendly and gave me great tips and support for my short stay.

  • Del and David were wonderful hosts! Their beautiful house was extremely clean and comfortable. Del was very organized and shared lots of information about things to do and places to eat in the area. I'll definitely plan to stay there again the next time I visit San Francisco!

    Carole2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Del and her family are amazing hosts with a beautiful house. I was made to feel very comfortable in the house and was given great tips about various things in and around SF. The room is really lovely & bright with high ceilings and a very comfy bed. You will have everything you need if you stay with Del, I couldn't recommend this listing enough.

Shared space to stay amongst other creative/tech/entrepreneurial housemates. We are mixed group of people working on different projects, studies, some startup, etc. and always happy to have others join the mix when they are in town. Either for a few days, or months, we are open ended on options. The location is perfect for getting around San Francisco, or the Bay Area. Literally a block from the Caltrain Station (Takes you down the Peninsula (Silicon Valley).
This home is best for people who have to commute down to the valley and also prefer a quieter professional vibe.

Beautiful clean modern home in the warmest and sunniest SF Potrero district with the breathtaking downtown skyline views. We take pride in being an eco-friendly house. We use only non-toxic cleaning products throughout the house and use eco-friendly bedding and furniture.
We offer a stylish bedroom for 1 person with a queen bed located on the main floor of our house that features: - CertiPUR-US certified bed and mattress, 100% organic cotton bedding, down alternative eco pillows/comforter - Spacious closet - Private bathroom with the towels and all bathroom essentials including a hairdryer (not an attached bathroom, but will be yours, will not be shared with anyone). There is a kitchen/dining/living area, a laundry room, and a playroom for our 5 year old on this house level. The living room has a large wall mounted curved TV with xfinity, Netflix and Amazon Prime and a comfortable sofa that you are welcome to use in the evenings. Washer, dryer, iron, refrigerator and light use of kitchen are available upon request (please ask). There is a coffeemaker, a Brita water filter, and an electric teapot in the room with complimentary coffee and tea selection. Our son goes upstairs to prepare for bed around 8:30pm, and you will have the whole floor to yourself when you come back in the evening. Thus, the room is perfect for someone who comes to SF for a day in the office, has a dinner after, and is not back in the house until 8-8:30pm. We have 2 very friendly pets: a dog (pug) and a cat, you may see them in the living room during your stay. Please note that we also have a private studio on the lower house level that may be rented during your stay as well. Our studio guests do not come up to the main house level, however they use the same entrance to the house.
Potrero Hill is one of the sunniest and warmest residential neighborhoods in San Francisco, located on the eastern side of the peninsula and flanked by the San Francisco Bay. It is insulated from the fog and chill of the Pacific Ocean that is typical on the western side of the city. Potrero Hill is known as a "design" district of San Francisco featuring many designer furniture and home improvement stores. It also offers plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. Here's more information and pictures of beautiful the Potrero Hill neighbourhood https://www.streetadvisor.com/potrero-hill-san-francisco-san-francisco-county-california
  • Great location! Comfy space.

  • Our stay at Milan’s home was just as expected. I greatly appreciated her Fragrance free home. Hope to stay again when we return to San Francisco.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Milana's place in the quiet suburb of Potrero Hill. The townhouse was stylishly decorated with wide-open spaces, which was the comfort we were looking for after a number of days in an RV. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor balcony and view over the city at night. The kitchen and house are well equipped and as described, location convenient and spotlessly clean. Milana is a great host, was very responsive and gave us tips about the local area. Thanks so much for hosting us Milana, we will be back!

    Emma2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Smooth check-in, quick and prompt communication , great price + private bathroom. Would definitely stay here again!

    Alexandra2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Milana’s home was just perfect for our staying! The room is clean and has a private bathroom. We had great early check in, and Milana was very helpful with everything that we needed. She also has a nice dog and cat, and the house located on a perfect neighborhood; nice coffee places around and a short way from the center. Definitely would stay there again! Thank you

  • Outstanding place in a nice neighborhood. Just 25 min walk to the Chase center (where I watched Metallica S&M2).

    Martin2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, on a slight hill, but easy to walk to nearby offices. Had my own bathroom and never really saw anybody else as I was only there in the evening. Easy communication with host and clean property.

    Brian2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Milana's place is excellent. It's super clean, stylish - with an awesome kitchen, and welcoming main room. Amazing views of the Bay bridge and the entire downtown. There is a terrific smart TV with Sonos speakers. I would love to stay here again.

The property is located at quite Silver Terrace neighborhood, the extra large room has its private bathroom. The room has one full and one twin size beds, for additional guest, we can provide the double layer full size air mattress. It is great idea for a family of four or five. It has microwave, refrigerator, toaster and coffee machine. We will provide light self/service breakfast.
The room is on upstairs, has views of city, golden gate, bay bridges.
Quite silver Terrace neighborhood. 15 mins to SFO, 15 mins to downtown SF.
  • Clean, affordable accommodation. Ok location if you have a car for city.

  • Had a great stay at Dongmei’s place! The house is super clean. The room is big and comfortable, full with a lot of thoughtful touches. Highly recommend this room for 2-3 people who are traveling in San Francisco!

  • Super responsive and great extra hospitality touches.

  • Deserves more than 5 stars or an A+ rating! This booking was for party of 3 (my parents and I). Check-in was easy! We drove about 10 hrs to SF and once we got there, we just park and entered through the gate and put in the keypad codes. And we were all set! There's more! VERY comfy beds! And spacious to the max! Clean! SUPER CLEAN and with accommodations. Fruits (LOTS), breakfast (everything you need + cereals and milk, etc..), and utensils and wares, mini fridge, microwave, big toaster, just wow! Private bath, also stocked with everything you need for any gender!) was a plus too! My mom, not a believer or negative thinker of AirBnb stays LOVED the room! Quiet neighborhood. Dongmei/host was VERY friendly and fast at responding and helpful.

    Kaung2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Good money-saver. Convenient stay for someone looking to visit the city, but doesn't want to be in the hustle and bustle of everything. Dongmei was very generous in letting us park in the driveway, when we couldn't find any street parking. The check-in process was easy, and the self-serve breakfast (cereal, toast, fruit) was a nice touch!

    Rachel2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • very spacious and clean

    Alex2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Dongmeis place is so wonderful. The decor was charming and you didn’t have to walk through her private living area to get to your room. It didn’t feel as intrusive as some of the other Air BnBs I’ve stayed at. The room didn’t have a tv but I brought my laptop and watched Netflix that way. The room had a fridge, microwave and dishes so I was able to buy groceries and eat breakfast in the room to save money on my vacation. She is so nice! And we were able to park in her driveway which was a bonus for us.

Introducing the perfectly charming full studio apartment/junior one bedroom decorated with mostly new items and designer touches; featuring a lovely garden in the heart of Potrero Hill. Housecleaning and changed sheets/towels every two weeks (or more if needed) during your stay!
The space is a full studio apartment/junior one bedroom, which has been decorated with mostly new items and designer touches. The living room features bamboo floors, a decorative fireplace, and beautiful light coming in from French doors that open out into a patio and garden. The bedroom area is carpeted, and the bathroom is updated and modern. There is a kitchen to cook in with dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and cooking utensils. The entrance is very private on a quiet, tree lined street. **Tall people please see the pictures of the bathroom. The shower has a sloped and relatively low ceiling and may be difficult for people 5 foot 10 inches (178cm) or taller.
The North Slope of Potrero Hill is known for its spectacular views of the SF city skyline, the Bay Bridge, and the SF Bay, its beautiful sunny weather – warmest neighborhood in San Francisco, and its bounty of hip and diverse restaurants, coffee shops, and shops. Think of Potrero Hill as a little city within the city, with its own cool vibe, and friendly people too! This residential neighborhood is great for both living and traveling.
  • Even though the space was technically a studio, it was very large. The space was very clean and neat.

  • Great place and great location. David was very friendly

    Dennis2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • WE have very much enjoyed staying in David's apartment. It was exactly as shown on the fotos. The neighborhood is very good and we have loved the great views to either downtown or the ocean from the Potrero Hill. Spending the days and evenings in the crowded city and coming back for quiet nights to Potrero Hill for relaxing was great for us and the kids (9 and 12 years old). We have loved the little entrance next to the main entrance ! Thank you very much, David, for that great experience! Hoping to come back soon!

    Ameli2016-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at David's bottom floor unit with my husband and two kids during our recent family vacation. The space was a good size and though we never stayed outside of downtown before we thoroughly enjoyed it at the end. There are many very good restaurants just around the corner. We walked to breakfast every morning and my kids particularly enjoyed Chrostiphers Book Shop. The only complaint I have is the overall cleanliness and state of the unit. The space was cleaned right before we got there, but the electric oven had food crumbs in it, the outside of the toilet was stained and one part of the molding by the shower had mold. The outside space though nice was not cleaned or organized at all. David was friendly and hospitable and offered insight about the neighborhood. This place needs a little TLC and it would be a jem.

    Svetlana2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really convenient location with a brunch spot, coffee shops and great market a block away. Apartment is as pictured and David is a great host!

Joe's room is a tidy 150 square foot bedroom within the Castle Retreat House -- a premier Bayview mansion sitting on a private hillside with spectacular views throughout the property.
The Castle Retreat House sits on a hillside within a real working class neighborhood located in the heart of San Francisco's Bayview District with a large open space full of exotic plants, breathtaking views, and nature trails. Various fruit trees on the estate are visited daily by the Telegraph Hill Parrots. The Castle Retreat House is a private sanctuary 12 minutes from downtown San Francisco, the Mission, Dogpatch, SOMA, or the airport. The Third St. train is located 1 block away, and takes you directly into downtown.
The Bayview District is simply one of the most interesting neighborhoods in the city from being home to San Francisco’s Butcher Industry, housing a naval shipyard, and the longtime home of the 49ers and the Giants at Candlestick Park. Curbed magazine recently ranked the Bayview District as the # 1 up and coming neighborhood in the United States. Nowadays Bayview is going through a modernization process with the goal of revitalizing the entire neighborhood. It's a diverse working class neighborhood where people talk to each other, you don’t see much of that in San Francisco anymore. Quite a few nice places for coffee. My absolute favorite coffee house is Road House coffee company. I love going there. There is a Starbuck's in the Bayview mall. Any of these places are a great place for meetings with plenty of tables and very friendly staff. My most recent favorite hangout to socialize and grab a bite to eat: Butchertown Gourmet, a sandwich place during the day and a wine bar at night. I always see people I know there. Radio Africa Kitchen is an Ethiopian place with yummy food just around the corner. Sam Jordan’s is a place for hanging out and delicious BBQ. For breakfast, Auntie April's Soul Food is a great place; One of my all-time favorites. Continue further into Dogpatch, the Mission, or any other San Francisco neighborhood for even more options to suit your culinary and social appetite. There are several wonderful parks in Bayview, but my favorite is herons head park. It’s a bird-watching jetty that takes you out into the Bay. It has beautiful views of the East Bay and the shipyard. Also, India Basin Park is great too. There’s a new park on the hill called Hilltop Park with a big grassy area and a skateboard park. People go there with their dogs and kids. For the artsy and crafty, The Third Street Village. A little community area where you can rent space for art and small events. It’s open to the community. Wonderful place! The Bayview District is a mecca for local progressive starving artist with many underground studios and exhibits.
  • Amazing view to not get discouraged about the location at all. It is extremely secure building and been upgraded as well.

    Ron2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home absolutely amazing view. Privacy is great as well.

    Faith2018-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The castle was great. Very clean and beautiful views from the shared areas. joes room got pretty dang hot but if you open up the window and get some air flow it’s not bad at all. Other than that we loved it. Super comfy and great location. We were able to binge watch some Netflix when we got back at night which was super cool!!

    Heather2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s place is nice with amazing views. Clean bedroom and comfortable bed! Easy check-in and check-out. Common areas really good! Dog friendly. Good price for what is offered. Cheap Uber to the city center!

    Andrea2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Castle was a great house! I loved the old character of the main level. It still has some of the original glass in some of the big beautiful picture windows. The two levels are both very comfortable and the kitchens are nice! There's coffee (pre ground, I think I saw a grinder downstairs too), cereal, 2% milk, OJ, Coke, bagels, eggs, and some other basics available during my stay. The house itself and the hill it is on feels very safe. It is close to the T line on 3rd street if thats your thing. I used that and Lyft a couple of times. Lyft Line was inexpensive to get to downtown. There was a regular cleaning staff and everything has signs and labels, making it easy to get around. But none of that was the best part. This house has an /incredible/ view of the bay and the south side of downtown! I spent evenings and a morning sitting in a comfy chair looking out. I even had my camera and took some awesome time-lapse videos! It made my stay better. I'd readily stay again.

    Seth2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Paul`s castle. The available amenities were outstanding and the view from the kitchen over the city is spectacular. It`s close to central SF but there is no restaurants or bars near by. Parking and checking in was super convenient, thanks to the keypad locks.

    Costanza2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so dope. The bed in "Joe's room" was so so comfy & the views & space & parking option were awesome! We absolutely loved it. There was a lil noise from other areas of the house but it never bothered us. They offer food for guests & are just awesome & friendly. I highly recommend this airbnb.

There are a bunch of great restaurants including Italian, French, Mexican, Japanese, Vietnamese and American all within a few blocks. The best YOGA studio in the city is down the street. • One of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve ever had. Dave and Frances are so helpful, personable and kind, I almost felt like I was leaving family when I departed. Well located in the Potrero Hill district and convenient to cafes and restaurants. This is a hilly neighborhood and you need to be prepared for some SF steepness if you are walking.

    John2019-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Frances and her daughter Casey were great hosts. Frances had great recommendations for local restaurants as well as parking for the baseball game. The location was ideal with plenty of street parking available. Frances also had the room filled with snacks, teas and coffee. Would absolutely stay there again.

  • Frances and Dave were amazing hosts. I loved staying with a family while I was away from mine. The room is a super-private suite with great views and a comfy bed. It has its own entry but you'll get to go through the beautiful main house to get there. Frances and Dave were warm, accommodating, responsive, and helpful. I'll be back!

    Adrienne2014-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. So easy to park, lovely views and a safe location on Protero Hill. We felt very comfortable in our room, and enjoyed the very comfy bed with soft linens. Every little detail was not overlooked: fresh fruit bowl, yogurt, snack bars, tea, coffee and coffee maker for our morning coffee. The room was a little private oasis. Would have like an indoor hall light to get to our downstairs lower level room, but with our camera light, all OK. Thank you for letting us use your washer/dryer for a load of laundry after our 10 day long road trip. Really appreciate your kindness. Would highly recommend.

    Christine2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Frances and Dave’s place was comfortable, clean, and as described. They have a super comfortable bed, snacks, mini-fridge, TV with Netflix, and more. Both Frances and Dave were gracious hosts and provided helpful information about places to eat and visit. I highly recommend this place.

    Matt2018-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Frances house. The location is wonderful, with breathtaking views of the city, and free street parking. The house is beautiful and there is a secluded back garden which also offers a wonderful view. The room is comfy and clean, great mattress and a cupboard full of goodies for your breakfast, with kettle, fridge and microwave. The hosts are so friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay here again and totally recommend it.

    Cat & Bart2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dave and Frances made us feel extremely welcome over a long stay. Dave was generous in not only sharing the good spots in the neighborhood for coffee/dining, but also nice areas for hiking and nightlife. We never lacked for anything in our space, and walking through the backyard to the room offers a wonderful view of the city while feeling very private and secluded. The room was a wonderful, relaxing refuge after long harried conference days (Moscone being only a short rideshare or bus ride away). As others have warned, the bed is indeed very, very comfortable. Set your alarm early to give yourself time to slowly rise! Coffee, snacks and breakfast provide everything you need to be ready to go out for a full day, while juices and water are also available when you come back. It was a wonderful home away from home. Highly recommended if you are looking for a relaxing space in a quiet area.

    Rob2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough how great it was to stay in Dave and Frances' place once again! It was extremely comfortable, especially the bed and quiet, warm and friendly. Their place is an oasis of comfort! The host family is the friendliest you could imagine, Helpful and very, very friendly...especially their newest member, Bowie the wonder dog. They were very fair and communicative and would love to stay at their place once again! Thank you! Sheila and Michael Takeuchi

Potrero Hill is a diverse neighborhood on one of our many hills that has an interesting history, fascinating characters, vistas to the four winds and great weather. This hill even has a unique brewery and a one-of-a-kind church across the street from each other. It features sweeping views of SF and the rest of the Bay Area - we often see wedding photoshoots taking place outside our home It’s centrally located - easy access to 101 and 280 freeways, a few minutes away from the Financial District and the Mission, and loads of public transportation to get you to all parts of the city. Whole Foods is an eight-minute walk away, and there are a few local grocery stores close by as well. The best brunch spot in the city (Plow) is close by, but make sure to go early in the morning so that you don't have to wait in line for 1-2 hours. I love the coffee and avocado toast at Provender Coffee as well. The Potrero Hill Rec Center is close-by and has basketball, tennis and baseball courts. The Potrero Hill Public Library is two blocks away and is the most beautiful library in the city - you can put your feet up and gaze out at the breathtaking SF skyline The Potrero Hill Community House is nearby and features free activities like yoga, Tai Chi and Zumba.

The floor below hosts more airbnb guests. My family and I live on the second floor. The room has a really great view of the South Bay, along with a queen bed, closet, drawer, desk, and chairs.
I grew up in this neighborhood and love it, but it may not be for everybody. It's up-and-coming so may be a little rough in some areas, diverse, and doesn't have many great shops or restaurants. However, if you love diversity and seeing and interacting with people of all colors from different backgrounds and cultures then this is the place for you.
  • The accommodation was really easy to get too from San Fran airport via Bart train and 44 bus which stopped 30 seconds from the door. The accommodation was very secure and Robert was there to meet us and let us in. The room was spotless as was the bathroom and kitchen area which was well stocked with coffee / tea. One down side is that the bathroom / kitchen was shared with 1 other room although the price per night is really reasonable. Also 10 mins walk downhill to T stop which gets you to Downtown in 20-30 mins. Overall great value and experience.

  • Directly on a bus line with a great view! Would recommend if you need a place to stay!

    Anya2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was easy to find and is such a great price especially for how close it is to downtown San Francisco. It wasn't too difficult to find parking, but just be aware of street cleaning signs. It was a bit difficult unlocking the front door as the doorknob was very loose, but when I called the host he responded right away and we had no trouble getting in. The place was simple but clean, and had everything we needed. The host lives upstairs with his family so you can hear people walking around, but it didn't bother us. I would book this place again in the future.

  • Good location to go into downtown San Fran, and close to the airport, but the neighborhood was a little unsettling at night. There was parking on the street but was hard to tell what an actual spot was, make sure to read the street signs!! The apartment space was nice and clean, and so was the bathroom. Really thin walls and floor so could hear people moving around upstairs. But overall, if you need a quick place to crash while in San Fran in a good location, this isn’t a bad option.

    Lauren2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • The room is exactly as advertised. Good location but wall was little thin. It was good value for good place!

    Megan2019-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience and we absolutely enjoyed the view from the room. Would definitely come back! I really enjoyed the privacy. Very comfortable stay

  • My stay in Daniel’s apartment absolutely met my expectations. The room was furnished nicely and was fully private (the doors are locked). Check in and further stay was super convenient, as the front doors open using a code. The common areas were also very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

The room we offer is in our Queen Ann Victorian house in SF. We aim to give temporary travelers an experience into a family that has been living in SF for over 30 years. Our fun and loving home is full of positive energy and plants, great view, front yard garden, plum tree (in season during the summer), and porch great for BBQ'ing. We love our environment and will likely teach you a thing or two about caring for it!
The room accommodates one person comfortably, and has closet space and clothing drawers. The shared space in our home include the bathroom, living room, kitchen, porch, and garden. Our family comprises of Bettina, José, Vishnu, and Ganesha (however Ganesha currently lives in Berlin).
Personally, I enjoy the area for its sunny weather (the fog is often prevented by the hilly areas in between). To attest to the warmer weather you will find figs, plums, lemons and tomatoes growing in our back & front yards. If you know San Francisco you know about our many micro climates, if you do not yet know about it, you will learn quickly (we will teach you). We are located conveniently near Bernal Heights where you can find many quaint restaurants/ cafes, book store, library, pet store, ice cream shops, as well as Good Life Grocery market. Our family favorite is the nearby ALEMANY FARMER'S MARKET the oldest farmers market in California. It is in driving, walking or biking distance.
  • My stay at Bettina's house was truly amazing! When I arrived she made sure I felt at home and José and her were so kind to me, they even invited me to have dinner with them. They explained to me everything that I needed to know to get to know the city (which was invaluable!). The room was nicely decorated and the bed super comfy! Basically I had all the comfort I needed while staying here. Tara, the dog, was so sweet and a nice companion to greet me when I came home after a long day. Communication between us was always very open and honest (which is the only way, if you ask me) and they were always willing to help when I asked. When staying here, you will definitely feel at home! I would recommend this place to anyone!

  • I stayed in this room for three months during a summer internship in the bay area. The room is quite large, with a separate closet and drawers and a very comfy bed. You'll share the bath (which is nice and clean), but it's almost always free. Ganesha, Vishnu and Bettina were super nice, never had any problems. Thanks for the great summer!

    Eric2013-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Bettina was great! Comfortable bed and pillow! With plenty of closet space.! They provided plenty of privacy. I rarely used kitchen though but I was available if I needed it. Parking was great. If you're coming to town with a car PARKING will be no problem. (At least base on my 3 weeks stay there) Jose was very accommodating, Bettina was usually out but she was helpful too:) thank you both for the great hospitality! Their dog is WELL BEHAVED.

    Katherine2014-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • First off, they accepted the reservation with only a few hours' notice. We had to book 4 nights last minute and Ganesha and Bettina were responsive and friendly. They really care about their guests and have a system down for what guests have access to and how best to respect each others' privacy. When we arrived there were strawberries and chocolates waiting for us in the room, which was a nice welcome. I only met Bettina in person, but Ganesha was the one i was communicating with most through Airbnb (I only saw Bettina the first night, and because of the differences in our schedules never ended up seeing each other). Bettina is Ganesha's mom, and they are both really nice. Ganesha is very responsive through the Airbnb messaging system and i got answers to questions fast. The room itself is clean, located at the front of the house and is comfortable and private. There's a closet, nice bed, dresser, mirror and large window with great drapes (totally blocks out the sun if you want to sleep in). There's also a private living room for guests to use as well, and it's separated from the rest of the house with a door. It's generally very quiet, and you only hear the occasional shuffling in the nearby kitchen when people come home, but it was never distracting. The owners have a dog, Tara, and she's really sweet. The door separating the room and the rest of the house makes it so if you don't like dogs, you can avoid interacting with her almost entirely (we loved her and thought she was extremely well-behaved and mild-mannered). She never barked, and only got excited if she hadn't seen anyone for a while. It was easy to calm her down, play a little, and move on with whatever it was you were doing. Overall, this was a great first Airbnb experience and we felt safe and taken care of during our stay. Quick note about the shower: it isn't too clear how the shower is supposed to work, but all you have to do is turn the left knob so it's pointing left and point the other two down and you'll get hot water. Took me a few tries to get it right. :)

  • Perfect for medium-term stays in San Francisco. Very kind and accommodating family. Would stay there again.

    Boston2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Vishnu and Bettina were excellent hosts and offered support to help me get my way around San Francisco. They gladly went out of their way to show me the sites and to discuss activities in the neighbourhood, some we attended together. This was greatly appreciated as I was a solo traveller. The room is exactly as described and was very clean and comfortable. I was allocated my own fridge and cupboard in the kitchen which made cooking and food preparation easy. The neighbourhood is about a 30-40 minute bus ride to Downtown. The 24 takes you to Bernal Heights, a small friendly community with several bars and restaurants, stay on and you get to Castro. The 44 takes you to Golden Gate Park. A 10 minute walk gets you to 3rd avenue where you can ride a street car to the wharf areas. On Saturdays you can walk to the oldest farmers market in San Francisco to get locally grown supplies. As I was hoping for a homestyle stay so being greeted by Tara the dog, having chats around the table, sharing tea, coffee, wine and the occasional meal together was a wonderful experience. Big thanks to Bettina and Vishnu for sharing their city and home with me.

  • I really liked the purple little house, it was just the sweetest in the whole neighbourhood. The room was like it was advertised, clean and very comfy, just like the rest of the house. I met all family members, very great and helpful people who made me feel welcome all the time. They provided me with hints of where to go&how to get there. Although the house is situated a bit outside the center, it is pretty good connected to public transport and 2 busstations are just 1-2 minutes walking distance away and I could reach all destinations around SF without problems. I enjoyed my stay a lot and can only recommend this place in SF.

    Nicole2015-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Ganeshas place. The whole family was very welcoming and helped me out wherever they could. Tara and Rosco are awesome dogs with their own distinct personalities. We had dinner together and often discussed various topics over breakfast. I really enjoyed my stay and would wholeheartedly recommend anyone, who considers visiting SF to have a look at this place. Something to consider: Silver Terrace, which is the neighborhood, is a bit far off from the center of the city if you haven't got a car. In general there wasn't that much to do around the place.

Our house is located in a quiet silver Terrace neighborhood with amazing views. Convenient to all public transportation. 15 mins to downtown SF, 15 mins to SFO. The room has its private bathroom but outside the room. It has views of city, Golden Gate and Bay bridges. It has its own refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. We will provide light self service breakfast.
  • I only stayed at Dongmei's place for one evening and enjoyed my stay overall. The room was very clean, and I liked that the King Room had a private bathroom (though you need to exit the room to access it.) Check-in was a breeze, and there were some thoughtful touches in the room, like a mini-fridge. The room has many windows which provided a comfortable cross-breeze. While the windows all had curtains for privacy, they did little to block out the light, so I found myself waking up earlier than I would've liked. The bed was spacious, but, as others have noted, it was very firm. The neighborhood is not in the most amazing location, but San Francisco is small, so everything is just a short Uber/Lyft away!

    Josh2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • She was very friendly and got back to us very quickly whenever we reached out. We enjoyed our stay very much!

  • I have stayed with Dongmei multiple times and everything has been terrific.

  • It was very comfortable to stay at Dongmei’s place. The host also provided some snacks and beverages which is very nice!

    Henry2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a great experience in Dongmei’s home. Having stayed in a few Airbnb‘s, we could see why she is considered a SUPER HOST. The room was nice with some amenities and she was nice enough to provide a few snacks for us. Everything was very clean. She even took our dirty dishes and wash them every other day The room was nice with some amenities and she was nice enough to provide a few snacks for us. Everything was very clean. She even took our dirty dishes and wash them And though we did not need to she gave us permission to wash our laundry if we needed. She was polite and responsive with any of our needs. We highly recommend this Airbnb!

  • This was a great place to stay! Everything was clean and also food in the room was great! Will stay again for all trips to San Fran.

    Grant2019-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, everything you need. Nice to have a loaf of bread and milk on arrival! Amazing value for money and Dongmei tries to grant all your needs, She even offers to do the washing up!! Only downside is an hour bus journey into San Francisco itself but the bus stop is within a couple of yards of the house, it’s cheap and easy to get or an Uber that takes 20 minutes and less than $20.

The Bayview is a vibrant neighborhood close to public transit. It is one of the more sunny parts of San Francisco. Great brewery in neighborhood!
  • Lovely flat in the outskirts of San Francisco. We stayed for a week and Nathan was gracious and unintrusive. We were able to use the kitchen and laundry facilities freely. The location is a bit out of the way but it has good team links into downtown

  • Nathan's place was great and homey. He was close by the local bus and tram, that would take you anywhere within the city. He was a gracious host and was kind enough to make our experience as comfortable as possible, such as bringing us a fan for the surprising warm weather in San Francisco! The chocolates were a nice touch :)

Hello! I have a little backyard "cabin" for available for your next semi-camping adventure! The cabin has no heat or AC, but it does have two bright solar-powered lights and a solar-powered cell phone charger. You can also use electricity inside the house, where you will have use of the kitchen and a bathroom just a few feet away from your door. I provide linens but I do recommend bringing your own sleeping bag for cold SF nights. I do not provide disposable items such as toilet paper or soap.
