What you'll do
Meet your friendly, expert local co-host and guide Carlos in the main square of Barranco to begin one of the most scenic and unique excursions available in Lima. Over the course of 2 and 1/2 hours, you'll stroll through the streets of Lima's artistic, bohemian neighborhood, taking in the many beautiful sights along the way. Around every corner you will see detailed and colorful murals, paintings, and graffiti by talented local artists that Barranco has become known for. You will also get to see and learn about some of Lima's most beautiful houses and churches in the well-known republican architectural tradition. Carlos will take you across the famous Puente de los Suspiros (the Bridge of Sighs), which offers spectacular views of the ocean and of Bajada de Banos, our favorite street in Barranco that is filled with art, music, and delicious restaurants. If we're lucky, we may come across some of Barranco's many talented artists, musicians, dancers, or other talented street performers! During your walk, you will stop into a popular street market to learn more about the history of some of Peru's most beloved ingredients. You will have a chance to sample some unique local fruit.
I've spent much of my life traveling the world and am now based in Peru. In my time here, I've become knowledgeable in Peru's cuisine and natural beauty. As an avid traveler, I know the importance of giving guests a unique experience. This is why I established my tour company with my partner Carlos. From your guide, Carlos: I'm an expert local guide interested in sharing my passion for Peruvian culture and history with guests all over the world. My knowledge as well as my excitement to share what I know and to make my tour experiences personal and valuable to each of my guests has earned me an impeccable reputation as a tour guide. I am a licensed boat captain and fluent in English, Spanish, and Quechuan. It is my highest priority to make sure every guest is safe, comfortable, and having fun. I lead excursions in Cusco and in Lima.
