What we’ll do

The tatami shop is my home. My father is a tatami craftsman and I'm studying to become one, myself. This tradition is important in Japan, and it has developed its own skills for the "shokunin-waza," or craftsmanship, involved in making the mats. Where you'll be

We'll meet at the ticket gate of Izumi-Chuo Station. It takes only 35 minutes from Nankai Namba station to Izumi-chuo station by the train! Then we'll walk 15 minutes to my workshop. After making the tatami mat, we'll enjoy tea time at the guesthouse next to the workshop. When you come to the experience and back to Osaka city, you'll through Sakai city. Sakai is famous for Knives and Ancient tombs. You also get the chance to go there.
