What you'll do
Snowshoeing requires little to no experience. The only requirement is snowshoes, warm footwear and clothing. Everything else mother nature provides. We will meet at the parking lot by the log cabin. Parking pass costs are as follows: $5.25 2 hrs. $7.50 4 hrs. $15.50 day pass. Book a group of 10 and I will pay for 2 vehicle day passes, valued at $31. We will go over the rough outline of the trail starting at the trial head, through the bush and over the bluff overlooking beautiful Georgian Bay. The view of Beckwith Island and Giants Tomb to the West of the Bluff is spectacular. *NOTE* Full Moon snowshoe will not be over the bluff due to safety concerns. We will then head down to the beach and walk the trail over to beach 3 (depending on the weather). We’ll stop and enjoy a hot drink before heading back to the log cabin to warm up by the wood stove. I will be adding dates for 1/2 and Full Moon hikes Thursday Dec 12th 6:30 pm, Friday Dec 13th 6:30 pm (*Meteor Shower*), Saturday Jan 4th 6:30 pm *Meteor Shower*, Thursday Jan 9th 6:30 pm, Friday Jan 10th 6:30 pm, Saturday Jan 11th 6:30 pm, Saturday Feb 8th 6:30 pm, Sunday Feb 9th 6:30 pm, Friday Mar 6th 6:30 pm, Saturday Mar 7th 6:30 pm and Sunday Mar 8th 6:30 pm. *NOTE* All dates are weather dependent. Dave And Maggie
I'm Dave, I live right next to Awenda Provincial Park. It’s literally my backyard and I've had the privileged of living in the area for 30+ years. I enjoy sharing the park with like-minded people that enjoy the same activities that I use to experience this little piece of Heaven. During the winter months I snowshoe/run and CC ski on the groomed trails. I've been mountain biking, running, snowshoeing for the better part of 35 years and would love to share this beautiful park with others that are visiting the area. I was a certified personal trainer for 20+ years and now I work-out for the shear enjoyment and sharing my knowledge. I'm a bit of a cardio junky!

Where you'll be
Awenda Provincial Park is located on the beautiful shores of Georgian Bay. The trails wind through the park to give you spectacular views of not only the dense forest but of the islands that dot the bay itself. Beckwith and Giants Tomb are viewed from the Bluff trail. We will see some of the historical sites and hike through the west side of the park. Being on the bluff and the beach, we could experience some pretty intense N/W snowstorms.
