Look up the city as an urban designer

Look up the city as an urban designer

I'll show you an unusual view of the City of London, London’s skyline, and some quirky things that are all-too British. Although 21st-century London appears to be all lights, glass, and glitter, there's a lot we miss by not looking up—weather vanes, building facades, clocks, advertising, friezes, and design…

Andrew

I'm the founder of the Museum of Walking and the producer of the Talking Walking podcast. I used to work as an urban designer, where I developed my insatiable curiosity for exploring the city, and I love sharing my discoveries. I went to university here in the City, and spent many a happy time unearthing myths and curiosities in the fabric of the buildings that characterize this historic area.

Where you'll be

We'll be in the Square Mile, the City of London's financial and historic core. Little remains from before the Great Fire in 1666, but there's plenty to see if you take the time to look. The trading history is literally carved into the stone of places we'll visit.
