What you'll do
We'll meet at a predetermined time (this depends on the route we're taking and tidal times) and at a convenient location to where you're staying. We'll do our introductions and get to know one another and then set off for our walk. Route's can be anything from an hour to a whole days walking, so it's advisable to wear comfortable shoes, layered clothing and to bring refreshments with you, although often there are fabulous establishments along the way. I'll answer any questions you might have and guide you along the route, taking note of any local areas of interest, and keeping an eye out for any seals (seal sightings aren't guaranteed I'm afraid!). If the route is circular then we'll eventually end up where we started, but if we do a one day route e.g. to Perranporth then I'll arrange for transportation for our return back to Newquay. Should you wish for refreshments to be provided for a picnic, this can be sourced from local establishments for an additional cost.
Since wandering around Newquay's various beautiful locations I have become knowledgeable on many different spots, from short walks to the breathtaking views from Pentire Point, longer walks to Watergate Bay and Bedruthan Steps, and seal spotting on the walk to Holywell Bay and Perranporth, via a favourite local's beach, Polly Joke, famous for it's seasonal poppies! I use my feet wherever possible!
A 250ml bottle of water per person.
A basic First Aid Kit is in the rucksack at all times, along with access to a mobile phone.
Where you'll be
A typical town walk, will see us visit Trenance Gardens and the Boating Lake, walk along the Gannel river up to Pentire headland, down the coastal path and across Fistral Beach, scale Towan headland, and if we're lucky the famous Cribbar wave might be firing, on to the Huer's Hut, then down to Newquay Harbour, across the town beaches, the Barrowfields and then to Lusty Glaze.
