Cassi

Plant nerd! I am a field botanist located in Chicago, spending my days monitoring habitat restoration projects and assessing natural areas for conservation planning. I am the president of the Northeast Chapter of the Illinois Native Plant Society and love to learn about nature and share my knowledge with others!

Where you'll be

Northerly Island is a 120-acre peninsula jutting out into Lake Michigan and part of the Museum Campus. It is just south of the Adler Planetarium and east of Soldier Field. The southern parts of Northerly Island are dedicated to nature, but a large lagoon, striking rolling hills, and a large prairie and wetland restoration taking root.
