What you'll do

Stuttgart is the capital of Baden-Württemberg, located in southern Germany, on the banks of the Neckar River. In 950, at this place the Duke of Lutolf founded a stud farm. The emblem of the city still reminds of this: a black horse on a yellow background. But the name of Stuttgart from German is translated as "mare's garden". In the central square of Stuttgart there is a huge palace complex - the New Castle, built in 1746-1807. Opposite him is the Royal Building, erected half a century later. And nearby is the Municipal Art Gallery, which contains works of art from the 19th and 20th centuries, including works by South German artists. We will visit all these attractions and I will tell you about the history of the exhibits presented in the gallery. The harmonious 16th-century building of the Old Palace has been beautifully restored, its courtyard is used for various cultural events, and the building itself houses a collection of the Baden-Württemberg Museum of Local History: paintings, jewelry, astronomical instruments, costumes. Here, not far from both palaces is the National Gallery of Baden-Württemberg, where European paintings from the 15th to the 20th centuries are presented, as well as a collection of prints. Among these exhibitions, you can wander for weeks, so we will confine ourselves to the main section of the palace.

Holger

Dear Friends, welcome to Stuttgart! I was born in Spain and moved to Germany in my youth. At that time, not many Spanish-speaking citizens lived in these parts, and as soon as I learned the language, companies began to invite me to meetings with official guests. After taking a guide education, I expanded my range of activities. I fell in love with these places and I want to show my guests the most interesting, places that not every German knows about, those that have a history, their own atmosphere and will remain in your memory for a long time!
