What you'll do

My family and I will explain our coffee farming experience so you'll have a better idea of what your lovely coffee means. Coffee unites us, and we'll help you understand the market so you can choose better, and why organic farming is so different from what you may think. You'll learn about the realities of farming from real farmers who aren't using chemicals to produce an excellent cup of coffee. We'll spend almost one hour talking about the process, and help you understand coffee and farming with an open mind. We'll see the plants, the roasting, and the brewing. You'll discover how to make a better cup of coffee, how to get what you want from a java cup, and learn about other products made with the coffee fruit. You'll support a family who'll give you a unique and authentic experience.
Other things to note
Come with hiking boots and long pants. You must drive to get to our farm or take a bus at 9 AM from Atenas.

I am a farmer who grew up on coffee. I also grew up learning how to live in harmony with nature. By doing so, my family has tried to make life better, not only for ourselves, but also for the environment and our community. It seems like hard work, but when you enjoy it—it's worth it. Thanks to decisions made by my dad to be healthier, we've all learned things we didn't expect.

My husband and I began our trip with this experience and we couldn’t have picked a better experience to start with! This MUST be on your list if you’re in the area. Gabriel and his wife were extremely passionate, educational, and friendly, and we loved that they had such a deep love for sustainable farming. The property is filled with tons of beautiful tropical plants/fruit trees that grow along with the coffee, and Gabriel even picked some fruit for us to try. You will definitely get so much for what you pay for during this experience! It really changed our perspective on coffee and we learned a lot!

This was a fantastic experience that was both educational and exciting! It's obvious that Gabriel and his family have a strong passion for sustainable farming and were delighted to teach us about what they do. Walking through the plantation and seeing not just coffee but tons of tropical plants and fruit trees was an amazing experience - so many fresh fruits grow alongside the coffee and Gabriel even picked some for us to try. We felt like we got SO much for what we paid. We're not doing the place justice and would definitely recommend for anyone to add this experience to their list!

Great small organic plantation with a lot of personality. Felt very quaint and we got a very personalized experience with a very small group! Loved the walk through beautiful plantation and being able to try all the different fruits growing there. Also had a great tasting experience with all the different coffee roasting techniques.
