What you'll do

We will make a delicious three-hour getaway in a group of up to 5 people towards the sunset and the safety of the sheltered waters of Guanabara's Bay. I will greet you aboard my 'home', a 35 foot Main sailboat, with a refreshing and natural drink at the time of boarding, which will be held in the famous Urca neighborhood at 15:00. After safety instructions, we will sail towards the Laje's Fort, pass in front of the Sugarloaf Mountain to the "Praia Vermelha" beach (the acces to this specific beach depends on the calm of the winds to be pleasant for a cruise). From there, we will cross the "Boca da Barra" towards the Santa Cruz's Fort, to the beaches of Adam and Eve, at the foot of the "Morcego" Hill; a beautiful and perfect place to admire the city of Rio just in front; sunbathe, swim, listen to music, tell stories, drink caipirinhas ... Without delay, the west will outline the palette of the day, and it will be a great time to sail towards the Museum of Contemporary Art. Finally, we will return to the landing point with Christ the Redeemer ahead, accompanied by a nice cup of coffee or some other refreshment in the warmth of the twilight.

Maria Carolina

They just call me Carol. I'm a sailor, a sea inhabitant and licensed by the Brazilian Navy. I'm originally from the capital, Brasilia, and I came to Rio seven years ago for family reasons - and was immediately captivated by the activities and life that pulsate intensely within the Guanabara's Bay. I decided to buy a sailboat and realized an old dream and challenge: to live aboard. I discovered between the flow of the winds and the cycles of the sea a beautiful and generous responsible life that I very much want to share; along with this curious sense of relief and excitement as the continent fades away and the sails open, flanked by the dreamlike silhouettes of the bay's many hills and forts… For those who love the sea, the sun and nature is a beautiful experience and can be an initiation to the new perspectives that boating has to offer.

Where you'll be

We will sail out near the Urca's wall ("mureta da Urca" - a little step ladder that gives access to a floating restaurant), and make a photo stop in front of the Sugarloaf Mountain and overlooking the Corcovado's Hill. We will pass in front of "São João"'s Fortress - cornerstone of the construction of the city of Rio - until "Praia Vermelha". We will cross "Boca da Barra" guarded by the "Laje"'s and "Santa Cruz"'s forts. From Niteroi, Adam and Eve's beaches and the MAC crossing produce the perfect lookout point for the sunset-colored metropolis.
