About your host

I'm Patrick. I'm a fourth-generation NYC resident and a licensed New York City Tour Guide. All my life I've been fascinated by the history and people of my city. Chinatown, in particular, is a place I love. And what I lack in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Fujianese, I more than make up for in my appreciation for the history, culture, and cuisine of this dynamic neighborhood.

What we’ll do

Like any great experience, this one starts with a drink! Our small group (no more than 6ppl) will meet at one of Chinatown's most popular watering holes, where we'll talk about the history of this fascinating neighborhood over a pitcher of beer. From there, we'll take to the streets, seeing this bustling area up close. We’ll visit historically significant sites, stopping to sample delicious…

What else you should know

We'll start & end close to the subway. During the tour we'll walk about a 1.3 miles, so please wear comfortable shoes. In addition, we'll be spending a lot of time outside, so dress for the weather.

What I’ll provide

Food
Dumplings & other treats Sadly, Chinatown cuisine is pretty meat & gluten centric. This is not the best tour for vegetarians or gluten-free diners.

What to bring

All you need is weather-appropriate clothing, comfortable shoes, and a big appetite.

Where you'll be

On this tour, you'll see the best of NYC's original Chinatown: - A bustling neighborhood bar - An historic Cantonese bakery - A Taiwanese dumpling house - An out-of-the-way Shanghainese dumpling house - And the best egg custard spot in Chinatown
