What you'll do

You have picked a great time to visit Boston!

Boston is one of the most walkable cities in America - it’s lovely to explore on foot. We’ll be walking about 3,000 steps/1 mile.

We will meet at a coffee shop along the Freedom Trail. Feel free to buy something there while we get acquainted & start our exploration of the people & events of the founding of Boston & the early years of the American Revolution.

We will head out on foot to walk a portion of the Freedom Trail. You will see & learn about the Old State House & the Boston Massacre, the Old Corner Bookstore & the Irish Famine Memorial & the Old South Meeting House - where the Tea Party started. Next, we head up School Street to learn about the Old City Hall & visit the site of the first public school in America. We’ll step into the oldest continuously run hotel in America & explore the rich history of this beautiful hotel.

Onto King’s Chapel Church & the oldest burial ground in Boston.

We will see the brutalist masterpiece- New City Hall & conclude at the Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market area.

You might want to shop or get a drink or meal at one of the many restaurants & bars at the end of the tour.

I will share recommendations for things to do & places to eat.

Join me to explore Boston & the Freedom Trail.

Boston is a beautiful city - rich in history & stories that I want to share with you!

Ellen was a great tour guide, who gave us the full run down of Boston history! Loved every second of it and would highly recommend for any first timers to the city (like ourselves). Currently sitting at one of her restaurant recommendations in the North End! Ellen is the best.

Our tour with Ellen was one of the highlights of our trip to Boston. Ellen was very friendly, professional and extremely informative on the history of Boston. She provided great storytelling and hidden historical insights to the history of Boston. She kept us on schedule and also gave us additional historical sites to visit outside of tour. I would certainly recommend this experience with Ellen to anyone visiting and even to Boston locals.

Great tour. I went on this tour on the last day of my visit and this was easily the best tour I had done in Boston. Great storytelling and I learned loads. Even more amazing, Ellen still ran it with only me. I would highly recommend

Ellen's tour is a fantastic intro to the Freedom Trail, storytelling from the very beginning. She is very knowledgeable and makes sure she is understood, repeating questions from others before answering. Makes me wish I paid more attention to History class!

Ellen was an awesome storyteller! We had a group of 6 and we hired her for a private tour. We were on a girls trip and not all of us are history buffs and I was a lil nervous that it might bore some of the group. But Ellen kept all of us entertained and interested! Would definitely recommend to anyone of any age. She also gave us some great recommendations.
