About your host

I began teaching Jamaican cooking classes in Tokyo while living there for 3 years. It was a great way to meet locals and socialize over food and share my culture in an intimate place. It was an extremely fun and fulfilling way to get to know people and vice versa. Some of my guests are my friends today.

What we’ll do

In my typical class I welcome my guests with a tropical fruit punch to kick start the class. I will explain a bit about my Jamaican culture, foods we eat, when we eat it, places I like to go. I will introduce the menu and dishes we will be preparing together. We gear up by putting on our aprons and get to work, teaching step by step how to cook a few dishes such as jerk chicken, salt fish…
