What you'll do

For those that don't know what Disc Golf is, it follows the same principles as traditional or "Ball Golf". From the tee to the target, try to get the disc in the basket in as few throws as possible. Just as golfers carry a number of clubs for different distances, there are different discs depending on the length and shape of the shot, including Drivers, Mid-Range, and Putters. Disc Golf is great for the young and old, single players, groups or families, as it promotes active outdoor activity. We'll start with a warm up going over the basics like putting techniques, different types of throws, and the characteristics of the different types of discs. Once on the course, I'll provide you first hand knowledge of every hole and the different throws you can use to navigate it. Throughout your round(s), I'll also provide tips and techniques to improve your game, addressing posture, movement, grips, flight, etc. so that you can get the most out of your time and hopefully take home what you've learned and look up your own local courses! Each round/game of 18 holes will generally take 1-2 hours.

Kevin

I'm a long time Disc (Frisbee) Golfer with a genuine passion for the sport, and a longer time resident of Muskoka with a history in tourism. The "Disc Golfers Code" asks that we "Represent the Sport", to be positive and responsible, and to teach others. As a result, there is a great culture of helping those new to the sport, or helping those from out of town discover and play the courses in the region. I've taken this to heart and enjoy any opportunity to play with both new and experienced players. Beyond playing, I'm also a Disc Golf Course Designer, and actively promote the expansion of our course infrastructure to both private land owners and municipalities in an effort to grow a sport that is both economically and environmentally responsible!

Where you'll be

Muskoka provides a lot of varied terrain and is the perfect location to play Disc Golf.
