About your host

Arrived at Lisbon 30 years ago for my studies, I fell in love with the city and I've never left since that time. I strode across its streets as a curious or as a courier, I got passionate about its History and its stories. And I still discover it a little bit more every day. It is so ancient and so rich that it would be a shame not to show it to other visitors.

What we’ll do

Follow me in this voyage through time, along a path that shows the evolution of Lisbon from the protection wall to the 20th century. We'll go to the west, passing through ancient villages, entering convents, hearing about stories from the past, and in the end, we'll understand a bit more about the Lisbon of today. This walk takes about 3 hours with small groups (no more than 8) so we can choose…

Where you'll be

We'll start from Santa Catarina, and we'll follow a line through the heights, with nice views along the river, crossing Madragoa and Lapa districts, and entering one or two 16th century convents. Depending on tiredness, we'll catch a tramway or we'll continue crossing Infante Santo and Necessidades gardens to finish at the starting point of the famous 28 tramway. From there, you'll have many ways to go back to the center or just wander the area.
