I’m a Tokyo-based street photographer from the U.K. I moved to Tokyo in 2009 and this sparked my interest in street photography. Initially I was using just my iPhone for photography and this led to Apple selecting me to represent Tokyo for their ‘Shot on iPhone 7’ campaign in 2017. What we’ll do

This photo workshop focuses on black and white, high contrast photography in the urban environment. Of course guests don’t have to shoot in Black and White (shooting in raw won’t allow that) during the workshop but the focus is on shooting images that will look brilliant when later converted to black and white. What else you should know

You'll need a 100% charge on your phone/camera. Comfortable shoes. A suica/pasmo card for the metro if possible. You are welcome to bring a spare battery or a portable charger if you have one.

Where you'll be

We begin in Ebisu, with its sprawling Garden Place painted in shadows cast by its trellised canopy. Next, we head to Roppongi for a few hidden spots before entering the impressive National Art Center to take advantage of its massive glass facade, and the shadows it casts. Finally, we’ll head to Yurakucho for an exploration of the hidden depths of the Tokyo International Forum.
