What you'll do
You’ll make your own jewel soap with your favorite colors and fragrances. First, we’ll learn about Japanese aromas, colors, their history, and their meaning. I’ll also serve you Japanese tea, and seasonal Japanese sweets. After that, it's time to make your beautiful jewel soap. You can choose from more than 30 colors and aromas or you can mix your own color. Next, the finished jewel soap is chilled and cut into the shape of the your choice. Please be careful with the knife. You’ll find that your finished jewel soap emits a jewel-like glow that can express the four seasons. Jewel soaps in Japan are often associated with healing properties.
I live in Tokyo and I’m a jewelry soap designer. A while ago I learned about traditional Japanese jewel soap and now I teach it at a culture center. My lessons feature colorization heavily. It’s very important if you’re going to make complex, jewel-like soaps. Through mixing, the color options are infinite.
Jewel soap ingredients I'll provide all ingredients need to make the jewel soap.
