What you'll do

It is from the sister city of Olinda, Recife, that the tour begins. We will meet at Boulevard Rio Branco (Recife Antigo), where we will take the bikes to Marim dos Caetés. It is only 07 km away by the bike path between the two cities. We will pass through some neighborhoods, communities and cross the busiest avenue in Recife, Agamenon Magalhães. We will also pass by the old Beltrão Plant (1890), which later became the Tacaruna Factory (1924), deactivated in the early 1980s. In Olinda, we will return the bicycles to, on foot, explore its historic center declared in 1982 by UNESCO, as a Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. For about 2 hours you will discover the winding streets of colorful houses and wonderful views over the treetops, church towers and red roofs of one of the most preserved and beautiful colonial cities in Brazil. And before taking the bikes to return to Recife, you will meet a Baobá, better known as the Tree of Life. If you are looking for a fun tour that covers a large part of the city in a short time with precious tips, you should book this incredible experience

Learn more about Roderick

Roderick

I was born and raised in Recife and I love my city. Olinda is a city I've been going to since my teens. I lived for seven years in the island of Fernando de Noronha, where I worked with tourism, became a scuba diver and where I started to use the bike as a means of transport. Back to Recife, I became a bike activist and as coordinator of an association of cyclists (Ameciclo), I had the opportunity to travel to Europe and some countries in South America, where I cycled in many cities. I like culture, nature and I love to exchange ideas, so it's always a great pleasure to welcome travelers and help them to have a true local experience.

Where you'll be

We will cycle through the bike path that connects Recife to Olinda. We will pass through some neighborhoods, communities, in both cities, until we reach Varadouro, the gateway to the historic site of Olinda. We will return the bicycles and, on foot, explorethe "Marim dos Caetés". For about 2 hours we will walk through the narrow streets, with wonderful views. We will end the walk on the beach, where there is a Baobab tree. We will take the bikes and return to Recife.

Things to keep in mind

Cancellation policy

Any experience can be cancelled and fully refunded within 24 hours of purchase, or at least 7 days before the experience starts.

Communication policy

Always communicate through Airbnb. To protect your payment, never transfer money or communicate outside of the Airbnb website or app.

Guest requirements

Up to 6 guests ages 16 and up can attend. You should be able to cycle for up to 01h. The pace is light, the idea is to explore the territory and not to win a race ;) Olinda is on a hill, so the walk is moderate.

Government ID

You’ll need to take a picture of yourself that matches the photo on your ID. This is so Airbnb can confirm who’s actually going on the experience. You’ll only have to do this once.

What to bring

Light clothing, sunscreen, water, sunglasses and hat / cap.

More tips

It's very important to bring light clothing, sunscreen, water, sunglasses and hat / cap. In the summer (Dec/Mar), the sun is very hard, so prepare yourself to the heat. In case of rain, the tour can be rescheduled.
