What you'll do

You will draw professional Mexican dance performers with trained corporal expression along with other Mexican visual artists with different techniques, ages, and experiences. Be part of the intensively alive Mexico City art scene, drawing Mesoamerican physiognomies in an inspiring, creative atmosphere. In the session, we will practice exercises with different timings, from one- to two-minutes poses to 20-30-60 minutes practices. Mexican snacks, coffee, tea, and other refreshments will be offered. After the session, artists will show and comment on their work.

Jaz

I'm a folklore dancer and professional art model. I live downtown, where I love to explore my deep history as well as meet friends from all over Mexico and the world. As a dance performer, I think painters and drawers may find a creative connection with dancers and other performers in a special way, and both performers and drawers have agreed with this point of view in our drawing sessions. I have a history degree from UNAM—National Autonomous University of Mexico—which has allowed me to understand and explain the ancient stories, the flavors, and the feelings from a different perspective.

What's included

Drinks
One beer, coffe AND non alcoholics fruit drinks (all the session).
Equipment
Basic drawing stuff. Paper, pencils.

Where you'll be

You will visit a building in the same street where the Museum of San Ildefonso and Centro Cultural de España are located. In the same street where you can find old bookstores. One block from the capital's Zocalo, the Templo Mayor Museum and the "Plaza de Santo Domingo". Near the Garibaldi Square, where mariachis and other typical bands can be found. Near the "Arena Coliseo", where there are fights of "Lucha Libre" on Saturdays.
