What we’ll do

We do the animal chores two times each day. This includes feeding and watering and bedding the animals. It also includes collecting the eggs. You will join Josh and Patricia for the morning chores at TapRoot. Learning what we do, how we do it and having one on one time with all of the animals we raise at TapRoot Farms. You will be alongside Josh or Patricia and will have an opportunity to feed…

What else you should know

If you would like to step into our world for a moment and come join us as we do the animal chores, then this experience is for you. This is what we do each day to care for the animals that we raise for fertility for our soil and for meat on our plates.

What to bring

Wear clothes that can get dirty or smelly.
In winter wear weather appropriate clothing. The barn is not heated. In summer wear footwear that covers your feet.
  • Responsible interactions

All hosts must follow guidelines created with World Animal Protection.

  • Caring expert hosts

Learn from biologists, conservationists, farmers, and more.

  • Diverse animals

Meet over 300 kinds of animals, from alpacas to zebras.

Where you'll be

You will arrive at 1736 Church Street where we will begin the chores: feeding of the sheep, our yard pig Maggie, the back pastured pigs and the geese. From there we will go to Canard Street to the barn where we will collect the eggs, meet and feed the goats and pigs. At Church street we will be outside. At Canard Street we will be in the barn.
