I've been an artist and filmmaker for the past 30 years and making, collecting and talking about pottery is at the very heart of what I do. My work is shown and stocked by galleries across the UK and I'm particularly focused on making characterful, individual woodfired pieces that can be used in the kitchen, home and garden. I really want to share my passion for making and enjoying handmade pottery everyday.

Where you'll be

The studio is in a 17th Century stone barn in the Yorkshire Peak District National Park. You'll work in the accessible groundfloor studio, afterward you can relax infront of the huge wood burning stove, look around the gallery space or enjoy tea in the garden. If we are doing a firing weekend then guests are invited to help with this incredibly exciting firing process.

A great class and cool space hosted by a warm, knowledgable potter aka Tim. All 3 of us had great fun and learned a great deal even in a short space of time. 5⭐️

Fantastic experience. Tim was a brilliant host/ teacher providing straightforward instructions, guidance and the all important praise! 😁 I would highly recommend this experience which is set in beautiful grounds. Now to find a second hand Potter’s wheel on eBay 😂

I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon learning how to throw my first pot with Tim! The workshop is beautiful and the gallery area full of Tim’s stunning masterpieces. He explained what to do step by step and was really clear and patient. Whilst he made everything look so easy, you really get an insight into the skill involved in this fascinating process! I made 3 pieces and immediately got home to search for an evening class in pottery! Highly recommend.

I bought this experience as an anniversary gift and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful afternoon with Tim and thoroughly enjoyed shaping the clay. Tim was clear with his instructions and we made 5 lovely pots between us. Using the potter's wheel was exciting and the conversation flowed between us throughout. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Airbnb experience.
