What you'll do
Did you know that less than 5% of homeless shelters in the US will house a homeless person who has a pet? Something I'm deeply passionate about, and that shows a most unique side of our beloved City of Angels, is brining pet-food, blankets & doggy supplies to the homeless pets who are living IN the streets of Downtown Los Angeles, the homeless capital of America. A large % of the American homeless population is in California, with Los Angeles in 2nd place for the largest number of homeless people, right after NY. When a homeless person has a pet, they often remain homeless because less than 5% of homeless shelters in the US will house a person with a pet. Most often, a homeless person would have to relinquish their furry companion in order to receive a bed for the night. Their beloved pet is often times all they have left, their sense of constance, their safety and most of all...unconditional love. Hence often times they choose to remain in the streets, so as to not be separated. That's where #MissionWellington and his TreatsForPups.com philanthropic mission come in:
I am a twice TEDx speaker and I am proud to I have been part of Airbnb for almost 7 years as a SuperHost (though most of my hundreds of reviews are about my beloved dog Wellington sr.)!! He was the catalyst for this socially conscious experience as we used to do this together for years: #MissionWellington and his TreatsFroPups.com philanthropic legacy is a most memorable unique way to be of service to the homeless pups living out in the streets. I am passionate about sharing a side of our beautiful city of Angels that is often misjudged, rarely seen and will be a heart-expansion like no other!
Where you'll be
Often times what people know about our beautiful City of Angels are the iconic Hollywood sign & Hollywood Walk of Fame, the beautiful Beverly Hills, the gorgeous Malibu, Santa Monica, Venice and all the splendor that LA offers. LA is also home to Skidrow, the homeless capital of America, that very few tourists know about, or even few locals have ever seen. It is an area about 5 minutes from Downtown LA, with a tent-homeless-community of 2000+
