What you'll do

First thing in the morning will we head out on the lake to experience a peaceful kawartha lakes morning on the lake. We will enjoy the sunrise and fog across the water. We will go to some hidden places not easily accessible to people unfamiliar with the area. I have found these remote locations through years of experience in the area. On our route to the remote fishing areas I will point out wildlife and explain key identification features of birds, amphibians, Ontario mammals, and trees. Once arriving at our fishing area we will target the species of your choice and catch enough for lunch. I will teach you techniques and methods that I have learned over many years and thousands of hours. These methods include use of artificial lures, fly fishing, trolling, casting, down rigging and how to properly use electronics to target your catch. Following the mornings activities I will prepare a shore lunch teaching you how to properly fillet a fish and cook shore lunch. This is a skill I have honed while preparing over 1000 lunches for guests in remote wilderness settings. Following we will venture out on the lake to explore the beauty of the kawarthas and implement some of the skills you have learned to catch more fish and make memories that will last a lifetime. I will share some of my experiences with you and discuss more about what makes the kawarthas so special.
