What you'll do

We've designed this Experience focusing on being alternative while showing the authentic soul of the Douro Valley wines & winemakers!

Transport capacity and all activities are according to the existing patterns of public health and safety. Whenever possible, we'll be outside in the open air. Feel free to book a private tour if you would like exclusivity!

We've carefully selected two wineries off-the-beaten-path, which are the definition of boutique.
You'll have an overview about their unique wine making process & lifestyle, taste quality centered wines & good food, all in the unforgettable scenery of the Douro valley and river!

First off, we will get to know a winemaker at a family-run winery with a beautiful setting!
Here you'll taste the future of Douro dry wines: fresh whites and robust reds. Smoothly paired with almonds, their extra-virgin olive oil, bread and fruit of the season.

Expecting you next, is an estate with a breathtaking location and a peculiar style of winemaking. Here you will taste handcrafted wines! Generously paired with charcuteries, cheese, extra-virgin olive oil & craft honey (they love their bees too!), cod/meat pies and dried fruits. To finish, a toast with a fine glass of Port!

This is a great opportunity, not only for tasting, the finest Douro wines but also to speak directly to the people that make them. Douro Valley can't get much better

Hi! We are Pedro & Nuno, official "winebassadors" of Portugal.
The passion for the Wine culture brought us together in Porto and it became obvious that we shared the same view about this project.
Both of us think that Wine should be as natural as possible and drank without formalities!
We always looked at the “smaller slice” of independent winemakers and that's where we want to be!
Nuno is a Wine Tourism Master and has a WSET Level 3. He travels the world searching for the perfect experience!
Pedro is the "Wine nerd". He's had courses on tasting Portuguese vino and loves crazy and weird statistics about Wine!
We are not about "schooling" or shopping wine tour clichés. We are all about taking corks out of good bottles, around good food and people.
So if you talk our language (or even better if not!) come and find out what makes us unique!

Where you'll be

We'll start with a drive, for about 35 minutes, until we leave the city behind and make a stop for breakfast or just a coffee at a town bakery.
We then make our way, for about 1 hour, onto the first winery, with time to photo the views over the Douro river and valley.
We'll be at two family vineyards with the winemaker, hearing and sharing stories.
One of them has a panoramic terrace over Pinhão.
After that, we'll drive back to Porto, directly.

Great experience with Nuno. He brought us to two small wineries, so we were able to spend time with the winemakers in a tour and while tasting the wines. We also were given more to taste than promised, so it was even better than I expected.

We booked on this day wine tour with Nuno because we wanted to visit wineries that were off the beaten track a little. We could not have had a better day. Nuno was super friendly and organised before and during the tour, really knowledgable about the region and made an effort with nice small details and info that we would not have even thought about or to ask. He took us to two wineries which were really cool, showing us a mix of traditional with new „craft-style“ approaches to wine making. It was a really great experience - it was more like just hanging with your friends for the day. Could not recommend more highly!

I cannot recommend this experience enough! My husband and I were looking for a tour that felt more unique and personalized than just a busload of people walking through a winery, and we found it! First of all, Pedro is a wonderful guide, full of knowledge and passion, not only about wine but about the history of Portugal as well. He told us many personal stories about his life in Portugal (including his favorite bakery where you get to stop for coffee and pastries) and his journey to becoming a Douro Valley guide. During our visits at the wineries, it was also clear that he has special relationships with the winemakers - it wasn't just a simple business transaction but a shared love of the wine and the stunning location. We were taken to two small (boutique) wineries that you wouldn't be able to visit (or find!) on your own, and ultimately got to spend a couple hours at each, touring the wine making facilities, tasting multiple types of wine (and port), snacking on charcuterie and locally made olive oil/honey, and chatting directly with the wine makers themselves. We visited early in the year so we ended up with a private tour, but a benefit of coming during the busier months and harvest (Sept/Oct) is you may also get to experience stomping the grapes! If you want something off the beaten path, where you feel like you're a special part of the experience and not just being talked at, this is the one for you. (And trust me, you won't miss the boat trip that some of the other tours are offering... the day goes so fast!) Would also like to add that my husband and I are novices when it comes to wine and not once did we feel uncomfortable or out of place. I would recommend this tour to anyone just starting out drinking wine or someone who is really interested in discussing all the nuances of the Douro Valley wines and wine-making process.
