What you'll do
During this online class, we’ll join you and a few other guests in your kitchens around the world to share some Balinese home cooking recipes. Get your phone, laptop, or tablet, and let’s make some delicious food together. We’ll cook 3 different Balinese home recipes: GADO-GADO or vegetables with peanut sauce PERKEDEL JAGUNG or corn fritter NASI GORENG or Balinese fried rice First, we’ll make fresh and healthy Gado-Gado, then Corn Fritter (kids will love this), and finally yummy Nasi Goreng. Each represents the delights of Balinese/Indonesian flavors—you’ll find these dishes in most Indonesian restaurants, and soon you’ll be able to make them at home. We’ll walk you through each recipe step by step and give you tips and suggestions. While we help you learn how to cook Balinese food vegetarian-style, we’ll share stories about our lives in Bali. Ask us about anything—we hope you’ll be able to come visit us in person once it’s safe to travel again. We’re looking forward to cooking and conversing with you! Once you book, you’ll receive a message with the ingredients and equipment you’ll need for class. We’ll also send you the written recipes after we finish cooking so you can make them whenever you want.

Hi! We’ve been running an Airbnb home for the past five years, offering a Balinese vegetarian breakfast to our guests who appreciate the authentic local food, with some even asking us for recipes. Because of this, we decided to start hosting a cooking class on Airbnb Experiences a year ago. We’ve been enjoying sharing meals with lovely people from all over the world. However, due to the COVID-19 crisis, there are no visitors coming to our island. In order to stay connected and continue promoting happiness, we’re bringing our cooking class to your screen through online experiences. Let’s make Balinese food together!

"Even though travel is on hold, you can virtually transport yourself to the beautiful island of Bali. Our cooking class takes place in open area of our home garden, located in Bali's capital city of Denpasar. Our house is typical Balinese-style with beautiful tropical gardens. Before the class end, we’ll show you around the Balinese tropical gardens—you might even consider staying here at our Airbnb in the future!"
