What you'll do
Empanadas are one of the most popular dishes in Argentina, you find it on the street or in any fancy restaurant, are easy to prepare and with very cheap ingredients, the most important thing is that empanadas are absurdly delicious, a perfect recipe for this time of austerity. To begin the experience, we will talk and get to know each other, we will present our main theme, empanadas, since in Argentina there are around 20 types of empanadas, this time we will cook 5 of the most popular. Alejandro will tell you the stories of how he learned to make empanadas at home with his grandmother, this is quite a tradition in Argentina. We will teach you how to make the dough, knead and make the shape for each empanada (each flavor has a different shape). Then we will make the filling and assemble the empanadas to leave them ready to cook, some are baked and others are fried. To finish and no less important, we are going to teach you how to make the popular chimichurri from Argentina because this sauce is essential for the consumption of empanadas, we will show you the traditional way but we will also show you our recipe.
